She ran to the bathroom in a hurry, her feet thudding against the hardwood as she rushed her way through the hall. She could feel her mouth start to salivate and the bile that was rising in her throat. She threw herself over the toilet spilling her breakfast in a matter of seconds. She would stop to take a breath before it would happen again, She hated throwing up. She could feel her tears prick in the corner of her eyes as she puked. She kept pushing her blue locks behind her ears trying to spare her hair from touching the recently enjoyed breakfast. She calmed when she felt his hands, he brushed her hair out of the way pulling it all to the top of her head as she continued to heave. His other hands patted and rubbed her back in comfort until she finally was able to feel her stomach settle.
"You ok shrimp?" He asked as he let her hair fall back to its resting state. She nodded standing up to make her way to the sink. She turned on the tap holding her hands under the stream watching the water fill into her hands before sipping some and swishing it around in her mouth.
"Bleh, oh I hate this. I can't keep anything down." She pulled out her toothbrush trying to rid herself of the disgusting taste that lingered on her taste buds.
"You're at the tail end of the morning sickness. The old lady said it would be over by week 18. And what are you on now? Week 16?" Gajeel said as he brought a hand to his chin in deep thought. Levy laughed slightly as Gajeel tried to reassure her that it was almost over. She was surprised to know he could keep track of her pregnancy so well. No one had any idea how deep the man had gone into making sure Levy had the most comfortable pregnancy possible. Her personality may have rubbed off on him slightly, he kept a planner on her pregnancy detailing every symptom. Foods that made her sick, foods that she was able to eat without being disgusted. Measurements on the size of her belly and what day it was. Most importantly 9 months into the planner a certain date was circled in her favorite red ink. Due Date September 12th. She appreciated him so much and loved how excited he was for a baby. She was worried in the beginning, they were both unsure of what to do. They weren't married; they had only been dating for two years when she found out she was pregnant. She remembered that day so vividly, he had returned from a job and was sitting on the bed in a towel, combing out the tangles in his hair. She came up behind him crawling into the bed with him snatching the comb from his hands. He had a terrible mat in the back that he couldn't see. She carefully detangled the mess while he talked to her about his mission. She could feel her heart beating so quickly she was afraid it would explode out of her chest. He had noticed her quiet nervousness and asked her if she was alright.
"Well I need to tell you something, but it's kinda big and I understand if you're not up for it right now. I know you're tired." He raised a brow at her in confusion. "Of course not, what's up?" She fiddled with the comb in her hands as all the red flew to her face. "Gajeel I went to Porlyusica today cause I was feeling sick the last few days."
"Yeah? What did she tell you?"
"Well…I.."
"You're pregnant aren't you." She looked at him shocked.
"How did you know!?"
He shrugged before turning to face her, bringing his nose to her face and taking in a deep breath. "Ya smell different. I kinda took a guess when I came home but I had no idea you had found out today." Levy sighed, sitting back and crossing her legs in front of her. "Are you mad?"
He chuckled. "Why would I be? I mean I'm worried, maybe a little scared, but not mad. I mean it was bound to happen sometime. We do it a lot." He smirked at her, giving her a wink that made her blush before placing a hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry. We will be ok. I won't lie when I say it's gonna be scary but we can do it at least I think so." She smiled at him and he brought her in for a hug. She hadn't expected the conversation to go so well. She expected some yelling, maybe a small fight about what they were going to do but he was calm and collected.
"Don't tell anyone I said this but. I love ya and I can't wait to have a family with you."
She smiled at the memory. She rubbed her very small bump. It was hardly noticeable but you could see how it was starting to round out slightly. No one else in the guild knew just yet, aside from Juvia, Lucy, and Lily. They were good about keeping the secret to themselves at least for a while and Levy had been grateful.
"I gotta get going Shrimp Lily is waiting for me at the station!" Gajeel ran around frantically gathering his things worried about his lateness, he was never late but ever since the pregnancy he had felt frazzled.
"Let me walk you there!"
"Then let's go, don't keep me waiting over here!" Levy grabbed his arm as he lifted his rather large pack over his shoulder. The train station was a 20-minute walk give or take. When they made it there Lily was hovering looking around him before he spotted his partner.
"Gajeel hurry, they're boarding!" Gajeel raised a hand to the exceed asking for his patience. Lily huffed before grabbing his pack for him to carry onto the train. He gave Levy a quick smile before throwing Gajeels pack onto the train.
"You sure yer gonna be ok while I'm gone?" Gajeel said as he grabbed her hand and raised it to his lips. He kissed her fingertips and Levy smiled up at him, her eyes sparkling with love.
"Yes of course! I'm not made of glass! You go and be safe or else I'll kill you!" He chuckled before kissing her lips lightly, gripping her face in his hands. After finding out she was pregnant Gajeel had been stuck to her like glue, this was the first time in a long time that they would be apart. He released her face from his grip before turning to the train. "I'll see ya in two weeks! Keep the bed warm for me will ya?" He winked at her, giving her a wave before boarding the train with his partner. She watched the train roll to a start before it traveled down the tracks with haste. She could see Lily and Gajeel through the window as they waved their goodbyes.
The next few weeks went on without a hitch. Levy had been following Gajeel's schedule to a T, taking all her vitamins, and trying to have three meals a day. Taking care of herself was hard for her, before she was pregnant she would forget to eat, forget to drink water, She'd even avoid exercise as much as possible if it meant she got to get more reading done. Now she had to do those things, if she wanted a healthy pregnancy. The morning sickness was more prevalent than ever, there wasn't a single moment in the day where she didn't feel nausea.
Week two had come to an end and Levy made dinner, Gajeel would finally be home tonight. She had cleaned the house from top to bottom and made his favorite meal. Gajeel had a secret obsession with spaghetti and meatballs. She brought the water to a boil adding salt to the water before dropping in the pasta. She threw her ground beef into a bowl, smashing it with her hands and adding in her seasonings and bread crumbs before molding them into balls. She cooked the meat on the stove as she strained her cooked pasta. She put a lid on both pots before sitting on the couch to read. She waited..and waited. She walked to the stove turning it on low to keep the food warm. Where was he? She looked at the clock, it was already almost 9. Maybe the train was running late? She thought to herself, she sat down on the couch again to read trying to distract herself, before she knew it the clock struck midnight and he was still nowhere to be seen. She was exhausted, maybe he was running late and he'd be home tomorrow? She went to bed that night reassured, that he had to just be running late. She thought of all the times she would be a day late from her mission. It was possible. She closed her eyes trying to get some sleep.
She jumped up at the loud sound that woke her from her slumber. It was still dark out.
"Gajeel?" She yelled from her bed but there was no answer. She threw her legs over the bed before peeking out of the crack in her bedroom door.
"Lily?"
She had come into the living room to see Lily standing in the doorway of their apartment; he was slightly banged up, his stomach had been bandaged and his left eye was covered with gauze and tied between his ears to hold it in place. He looked worried when he saw her standing there in her nightwear. In an oversized shirt and shorts, her hair was tousled and she had bags under her eyes.
"Levy..don't panic." Lily raised his hands at her trying to calm the fear that hung over her. Levy could feel her breathing quicken as he said that.
"Where is he? Lily, you're scaring me, where is he!?" The cat sighed before grabbing Levy's coat that was hanging on the rack near the door, he grew into his battle form to be able to reach for the article of clothing. He walked over to her and gestured to her arm. She lifted it and he slid her coat on with ease. "Come on, we have to go."
"Lily, go where? I just want to know if he's ok! Tell me right now!" She could feel her voice climbing, the fear in her voice breaking the sound barrier.
"He's alive but he's hurt badly. Now come on!" He pushed her through the doorway before scooping her up in his arms and flying to the guild infirmary. What happened to him? This was supposed to just be an easy job, escorting the mayor of Bosco to the border of Hargeon. Plain and simple what had gone wrong? They arrived and Levy threw herself from his arms right as he landed and she made a break for it. "Levy you're in no condition to run!" he yelled at her but she ignored him as she climbed the stairs as fast as possible.
"What room? Which one?" She slammed open all the doors looking for the right one before Lily grabbed her arm. "Levy calm down, it's this one here." He pointed to a closed door and Levy swallowed loudly before she reached a shaky hand to the door knob. She was stopped by a large hand wrapping itself around her wrist.
She tried to pull free but was pulled back. "Levy, please. Freaking out won't help him. Just breathe." She took a deep breath, it was a shaky breath and she could hear her heart pounding in her ears. However, she calmed herself, Lily opened the door slowly to see Porlyusica standing over a hurt Gajeel. Bandaging his head. The master sat at his bedside in silence as he looked down at his feet. Then she heard him. He was groaning and moaning as the older woman tended to his injured head. She walked inside standing at his feet to look at him. His eyes were open but they looked lifeless, the once vibrant red now a dull pink. He was looking at the ceiling.
"Gajeel?" She whispered. He didn't respond to his name, all he did was groan. "What the hell happened Lily?" She turned to the cat as he looked down in shame.
"Don't be so loud girl, you'll only aggravate his condition." She looked at him as he started to turn his head back and forth rocking side to side as he moaned and groaned. His arms were raised at his sides as he reached for something above him when there was nothing there.
"He has some severe head trauma, he may need surgery. But I'm more worried about this."
She grabbed the covers that were at his feet pulling them up to reveal his legs. She lifted him and the master guided the man to sit with his legs over the side of the bed. She was shocked to see Gajeel being supported by the two people. His body was limp and his head was fighting to stay upright. He continued to stare at the ceiling with a blank expression. Porlyusica pulled a reflex hammer from her pocket and tapped him on the knee and there was no response. She did it again a little harder this time and still nothing. They laid him back down slowly covering him once again. Levy could feel her heart shatter into a million pieces as she watched the man who was so strong in her eyes fall before her. No feeling in his legs was something she could help him overcome but something else was wrong.
"Gajeel? It's me! Please talk to me." She rushed to his side gently turning him to face her. He stared for a long time before trying to speak. She couldn't understand him, his voice was small and unintelligible. She could tell he was trying to talk but he couldn't say anything. She watched as a stray tear fell from his eye, she wiped it away quickly before he turned his head to the ceiling once again.
"My dear this is a bad one," Makarov whispered.
Porlyusica raised a hand at Makarov to keep him quiet before she bluntly stated the facts. "He may never speak or walk again, I'm afraid. I'm not certain until we get him into surgery though. He could pull through just fine and he could not.`` Levy dropped into a seat as she heard the doctors coming in through the door. She could hear the ringing in her ears as they rolled him out of the room. She was in shock, She couldn't breathe. She could feel Lily's presence as he tried to talk to her but she drowned him out. She stared into space, wondering what she was going to do. She needed to figure out how she was going to take care of him. If he couldn't talk, how would she know what he needed, He couldn't walk anymore. Who was going to watch the baby when she went to work? What was she going to do?
He felt strange today. He couldn't gather his surroundings, he heard voices. Soft unintelligible voices, he couldn't make out their words no matter how hard he tried. His dragon hearing was no match for whatever soundless void he was in. He looked around trying to make out what was before him in the darkness but he couldn't. His eyes had been blinded by something, wet, warm and sticky. He reached a hand to his face seeing the thick red liquid pooling in his palm. What was going on? Where was he? He could feel the throbbing in his head as the blood dripped into his eyes. He desperately tried to wipe it away but it only fell more. Until he was able to see it. Something in the darkness. Shining at him, like a jewel in the sun. He slowly walked forward, the voices had become louder then, calling his name over and over, making his way closer to the light he could feel his legs go numb until he fell over. He tried to stand but his legs felt like jello. Using all his strength he used his arms to pull himself further to the light that shone before him. He wasn't afraid even though he felt he should be. He was curious and desperate to see the light, until he could see a faint outline of a tall figure. He could feel his body rise as if he had no control over his own body anymore. He could feel himself shuffling forward as the figure came before him.
"You're.."
"You? I know it seems strange." A version of himself stood in front of him. He looked younger, Gajeel was shocked to see just how young he looked up close. People used to be afraid of him during this time of his life. Yet for some strange reason, Gajeel saw nothing but a child staring back at him. A stupid, dumb kid. He hadn't realized just how young he was then, he was shorter even, and he hadn't even finished growing yet.
"Where am I?" Gajeel stared in awe at his younger self.
"Your subconscious. I am the embodiment of the life-long past, now this isn't normal you shouldn't be able to talk to me but..here you are." The young man walked around his adult self, his hands clasped tightly behind his back, looking him up and down. The young man's face would shift in and out from a little boy to a teen to a young adult. The constant movement made it impossible for him to focus on this version of himself.
"You are in a terrible state of mind, you have put me at the forefront of your mind. You are me and I am you." Gajeel scoffed. "The hell do you mean by that? Am I..dead?" The young man laughed loudly, before wiping a tear from his eye, "Almost but not quite, you're stuck, on a fine line between life and death. You can't leave. Only I can." He could feel his heart drop into his stomach at his words. "But..Levy..the baby." Gajeel could feel the fear in his bones as his legs turned to jello once again. He fell to the ground and his eyes grew fuzzy. He couldn't move anymore and he felt tired. He used all his strength to try and lift himself up but to no avail. He needed to wake up, he needed to get out of here. His worst fears were confirmed when the young man began to walk away from the helpless dragon slayer. The young man's face shifted to one all too familiar, his eyes grew dark and evil, and his Fairy Tail insignia warped into Phantom lords. His hands were dripping with red blood and it pitter-pattered against the top of his boots echoing into the darkness.
"You can't leave me here!" Gajeel screamed, the echo firing into the nothingness ahead. A steel-toed boot pushed its way under his chin lifting his face to meet the dark red eyes of his younger self. "What a pity, you used to be so tough, so strong, you could have moved mountains if it hadn't been for Fairy Tail. Now, look at you, reduced to some family man, falling in love, having a baby, while I sit here and rot! Well not anymore, I won't sit here and rot any longer! Goodbye Gajeel Redfox for now, it's time you return to your true self." Gajeel lay there, in the darkness as his younger self retreated into nothing.
"Gajeel?"
Who is that...Levy? "Levy! I'm here!" He screamed out loudly hoping to hear her call back, but all he heard was the echoing of his screams. He wailed loudly screaming at the top of his lungs, He yelled so hard and so loud he could feel his vocal cords begging for a break. He screamed and begged into the void hoping anyone would hear his cries for help. But there was no one.
"Help me." He whispered one last time before finally falling flat to succumb to his new fate. He wouldn't..he couldn't cry. He looked around the vast room of emptiness, no one was around. He could feel his eyes well up with tears. He let one fall freely down his cheek. What would Levy do? He was going to leave her..all alone with his baby. They would go on without him as if he was never there. He closed his eyes trying to imagine her face, her deep honey eyes accompanied by her long fluttering eyelashes, Her cerulean hair that fell gracefully over her shoulders but stayed wild and free, He thought of her body, every curve and swerve of her hips and long legs, every single mole and scar that graced her skin as if some God has placed them there himself. He would never feel her again. He would never kiss her lips as he once did, he would never hold their child. He allowed himself to sob his body shaking with every cry as he called her name. "Levy! Levy…." His voice echoed into the darkness. No one would ever hear the sad dragon that lay helpless. It was only him once again.
She jumped up from her seat in surprise as she watched the man before her, broken and beaten but yet she saw it. After days of him sleeping, laying in the bed completely still she saw a slight movement under the sheets... She rubbed her eyes to make sure she wasn't just imagining things. She walked forward to the end of the bed and lifted the covers up to his ankles and watched closely. She turned around to see if anyone was behind her. When she saw the coast was clear she brought her hand to his foot and she poked one of his toes with her index finger. She frowned when she saw nothing in return. She took in a deep breath and poked the same toe, to her surprise all five toes curled in at her touch. She laughed breathlessly before sprinting out of the room.
"He moved! He moved!" Lily grinned widely as he stood from his seat, Makarov began to speed up the stairs with Porlyusica in tow. Levy ushered them inside.
"Watch this!" Levy pushed her finger against his foot once again, his toes curling at the sensation. Everyone in the room gasped, and Porlyusica ran to check his vitals. "I'm surprised…this is great he may still have his legs after all." The room went silent when they heard a soft moan come from his lips. They all stood around him in silence, everyone held their breath as the man's eyes fluttered open.
"Gajeel? Can you hear us?" Makarov said loudly as he placed a hand on his bandaged shoulder. It had happened so fast, he shot up with the speed of a lightning strike, his skin turning to iron just as quickly as he stood to his feet. He backed up against the wall. His hands balled up as if he was ready to fight.
"boy calm down, you're very hurt." Porlyusica raised her voice at him. Levy stepped forward to look him in the eyes. "Gajeel it's ok you're in the infirmary." She saw the calm rush over his stern features, he relaxed slightly his scales turning back to tanned skin.
"Did we win?" He asked nonchalantly. Levy shook her head and Gajeel sat back down on the floor of the room.
"So that lightning fucker won huh." He sounded so serious, his voice held an utmost amount of confidence and his curses rolled off his tongue with no issues. Levy tilted her head at his words. Was he talking about Laxus?
"You mean Laxus?" Makarov almost fell over his own words due to the weirdness of the situation. Laxus had been gone for months on a mission, Makarov hadn't seen the iron dragon slayer fight Laxus since the battle of Fairy Tail.
"Uh..am I missing something? Salamander and I fought Laxus, remember, you were there." He pointed at Levy and she looked at Porlyusica with worry. The older woman pulled a chart from the bedside table reading every note she took. "He had a hemorrhage in his prefrontal cortex, a brain bleed right on the frontal lobe of his brain. I thought we did a good enough job at repairing it. I guess not though. It seems that there's some memory loss. A few years worth." Levy took a step back. Memory loss…a few years' worth?
"The fuck you mean memory loss what's going on!?" Gajeel stood to his feet, his fists still balled up but this time with anger. He snarled showing his teeth in a way that made Levy shiver, she hadn't seen him make that face in a long time. She felt sick at the thought of Gajeel not remembering their relationship... If he had died she would have been alone but now she would still be alone anyway, he didn't love her anymore, he didn't know that they lived together, he didn't know that they were having a baby. She couldn't throw all that on him now, he would freak out and probably disappear. She covered her mouth with her hands in horror, she was going to have the baby alone, she had no boyfriend, no emotional support. Who was going to remind her to take care of herself? Who was going to make her take her prenatal vitamins? Who was going to reassure her that she'd be a great mom? She knew she had the guild she had Lucy, Juvia, Lily, and the master. But no matter what they said, it didn't mean anything unless it came from Gajeel. She had no idea how dependent she had become, if anything this would be her chance to show him that she could do it even if that meant not having him by her side.
"What the hell are ya crying for shrimp?" Gajeel snarled at her. Levy lifted a hand to feel the salty wet tears that fell, she hadn't even noticed. She wiped them away before taking a step back, she felt a hand rest on the small of her back and she looked down to see the master.
"Levy, why don't you go rest, we can take care of things," Makarov said as he pulled her into the hallway outside the room and shut the door behind them.
"My dear please don't cry we will figure this out, he'll be back to normal before you know it you won't be alone in this."
"But master I.."
"What's wrong?"
"I'm pregnant." She had whispered it with a shaky voice trying to keep back the sobs that tried to escape. The master lowered his head in sadness. She knew it when she saw it when people felt sorry for her. She saw that look one too many times. When Phantom Lord attacked she saw that look everywhere she went. Or when she had been gone those 7 long years and had missed so much, they gave her that same look.
"Well we have a bit of a problem then don't we?" The master said as he placed a loving, fatherly hand on her arm. She nodded in return and he took both her hands in his.
"My dear it'll be alright I'll be sure no one says a thing."
"But master. Where is he going to go? He can't come home now! He will find out about..us." The master raised a hand to his chin in thought. The two lived in his home, he would try to return only to see the house scattered with things that didn't belong to him
"I'll be sure he stays here, for the time being, he's in no condition to return home anyways. At least not yet. Now go home and rest. I'll send Lily with you, I know you haven't slept that well these past few days." He gave her a soft smile before opening the door and motioning Lily to walk her home.
"B..but master I can't leave him here." She was worried, terrified of being without him, this was a whole mess, a mess that she desperately tried to clean up but it would continue to overflow without control.
"Don't argue with me." The master stood there sternly and Levy let loose a sigh before looking at Gajeel one last time.
"Yes sir."
"I will be there to check on you in a while, my child." Levy smiled, she had forgotten the comforts of her father figure. He was the father to many in the guild but he always found a way to make every single one of them feel special. He loved them all individually and in different ways.
She made her leave with Lily. She was indeed very tired; she rested a hand on her stomach before looking down. "We'll be ok." She said to her unborn child before allowing the panther to scoop her up in his arms.
Gajeel was bored, he had been in the infirmary for hours as they ran tests on him, pricking him with every needle imaginable. Monitoring his brain activity asking him questions about what he remembered and didn't remember. But his mind drifted back to that Levy chick. She smelled different than he remembered. Not only was her smell off but she looked different, more womanly. She looked taller, her hair had grown more wild and unruly. She filled out nicely from when he last saw her. Her hips were wider and her bust had grown. She was dare he say attractive for the most part, he wouldn't say it out loud but he always thought she was a pretty thing. He never felt true attraction until he witnessed her brain and intellectual abilities in action when she was able to break them through the enchantment Laxus had put on the guild hall. He blushed slightly at the thought of her bent over her notes and books, he remembered even at one point looking at her butt and admiring her figure. He shook his head trying to rub the image from his eyes. Why was his heart racing, it's not like he was into her or anything like that. He laid his head back against his pillow trying to think about anything other than the blue-haired woman who had shed tears on his behalf.
"Hello, my boy! How's your head feeling." The master had strolled into the room unannounced before taking a seat at his bedside. The dragon slayer shrugged at his question. "I feel fine..so I don't understand why I still have to stay here." Makarov smiled up at him, making Gajeel want to look away from his joyful gaze.
"Gajeel It would be best that we prepare you for this new world that you've been thrust into, things aren't exactly the way you saw it last." Gajeel raised a studded brow. "How different can it be?"
Makarov sighed, rubbing the nape of his neck in nervousness, he had to tell him something.
"Also who was the big burly cat-looking thing?"
Makarov let out a chuckle. "That's your partner, Pantherlily, you two are very close. He was with you actually when all this happened." Gajeel nodded, listening intently as the old man spoke. "I don't know much but I guess you two were escorting the mayor of Bosco and somehow you got hurt severely. So Lily brought you home in a rush, you didn't even finish the mission from what I can tell. He was worried about you."
Gajeel was surprised to have a cat just like Natsu, a cooler one.
"Also why was she here? We ain't friends or anything."
"You weren't friends, but now you are." Gajeel looked out the window and the sola tree in the middle of Magnolia South Gate park stared back at him hauntingly. He closed his eyes to look away from the sight. If they were friends..close enough for her to stay at the hospital with him all those days he found himself curious, how did they get past what he did to her? How did she get comfortable enough around him to be friends in the first place? As if the old master could read his mind he spoke. "That time was so long ago. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Levy is a very forgiving woman, you two are great friends now and that's all that matters." Gajeel nodded, still confused and curious about the woman and her new scent. He decided he'd keep his distance for the time being. He laid his head back in exhaustion, he felt tired all of the sudden.
"Get some sleep my boy you've been through a lot today." Gajeel noticed a difference in the way the master spoke to him. It was calm and reassuring, from what he remembered the master was very cold to him in the beginning. Kind enough to let him join Fairy Tail but was still stern in his words when he talked to the dragon slayer. But now, he felt like the master trusted him, he was comfortable around him. He guessed he had changed. Gajeel closed his eyes as the master shut off the light to the room. He would sleep that night but something was different in his dreams.
He dreamt of something strange that night. He dreamt of silk sheets and how they felt against the skin of his back, the smell of dust and old ink stung his nose. He could hear whispering voices, one would think they were scary but for him, they sounded familiar, almost angelic. He saw a flash of blue, a woman. She sat by a window and stared into the darkness as if watching a sunrise. Her face was fuzzy and he couldn't quite make it out. But she stood up and walked to him slowly before climbing atop of him. He had no control of his body, it moved on its own accord as the delightful faceless woman placed her soft hands on his face. He leaned into the touch, feeling the overwhelming sensation of need and want. She ran her hands over his body, touching and stroking his piercings and scars as if it were her second nature to do so. Who was this woman, and why did she feel so..familiar? He rolled over her to look at her still fuzzy face. This was a wonderful dream. She was completely naked just as he was. But he didn't feel embarrassed like he thought he would, he felt no fear, he felt content and his heart fluttered. Her face came into view slightly until he recognized those eyes. He had to be dreaming, She was under him a smile was displayed along her face as he leaned in to kiss her lips. She felt so amazing, he hoped this dream would never end. Their skin pressed together almost perfectly. She looked like an angel under him as they kissed and touched each other. Her hands ran over his chest and she brought a finger up to his lips.
"Gajeel." She whispered his name as if she had said it a million times before and it sent him over the edge. "Levy," he said her name back until the tender touches turned desperate and hungry. He shut his eyes in bliss, but when he opened them he was no longer tangled in the silk sheets with the beautiful woman. On his hands and knees, he looked around seeing nothing but darkness.
"Hey, you!" He turned quickly, seeing something that he didn't expect. An exact copy of himself. but he was laid out on the floor. He sat up and stood, rushing to him with insane speed, picking him up by the front of his shirt.
"Let me out now!"
He shook his head raising his hands to himself, what was he talking about? The man gave him a shake before dropping him on his ass. The man balled his fists as he began to cry. "You let me out right now! I can't stay here one more minute! Wake up! Wake up!" He turned trying to run away but he felt as if he was running in place. He could hear the pounding footsteps behind him as the man got closer. He tried to let out a scream but it was silent. He turned to shield himself in fear until the man fell to the ground. He writhed and struggled to stand but his legs fell behind his every movement. He hadn't noticed but an evil smile crept at the corners of his mouth as he watched the man struggle before him.
Gajeel jumped up out of his bed, sweat dripping from his forehead, a dream that's all it was..a dream. He breathed heavily with his hand on his chest as he tried to forget. He was confused at the dream, the other version of him seemed fragile. He was more shocked to see his tear-streaked face as if he had been crying for hours before that. It freaked him out, however, those images sat deep in the dark recesses of his mind, But now, he could only think about her. Why would he dream of such a thing? He had no business thinking of her in that way, even though it felt so good. They were friends according to Makarov, nothing more.
