Dear Journal,
Well, this month as flown by, hasn't it? Pretty soon I'll have to get a new Journal. I'm thinking about getting one with Cat Noir on front.
Speaking of Cat Noir, I'm writing in you on a rooftop, sprawled out in the sun. I have to be careful not to drop you, because I'm sure someone would love to know Adrien and Cat's secrets. I shudder at the thought, can you imange how fast it would be on social media? I don't even want to think about it, even if I have a few social media accounts myself. I'm always blown away by the fan art people post on Twitter, there so talented! Even a small thing like that brightens my day. I'm having a lazy day which means sitting in the sun and purring and writing in you, Journal. But ice cream is starting to sound pretty good, I'll be back soon, Journal.
Okay, I have a cone and I'll try hard not to get ice cream on you. Pretty soon at the bakery, we will be gearing up for fall, and you what that means! Pumpkin spice, apples, maple treats, decorations. Its always a busy time of year, but its the start of the holidays after all.
Strange, last year I missed Mother so much but this year I know things will be different. I will be spending Christmas and New Year's at Marinette's, even though on a hot day like today snow is the farthest thing from my mind.
Its getting really hot up here, Journal, but I know a spot to cool off. Leo's! I wonder if Ladybug will drop by or I guess I could send her a message.
Ah, that feels so much better with the A/C running. I just sent a message to Ladybug and guess what? She replied back that she'll be here soon! I'm nearly purring with happiness, or maybe its the caffeine?
"Hey, Bugaboo!" I smile widely at her when she sits down at my table. "What is that?" I point at her drink. "Raspberry smoothie," she grins at me, and I gasp. "Not coffee, M'lady? Are you feeling ill?" Playfully, I place my hand on her forehead and she bats me away. "No, silly! I've just already had my Starbucks today." "Shh, Bugaboo. You'll hurt Leo's feelings if he heard you went there." Okay, I like both and on bad days, I have done that. I need to stop doing that though, because then I'm up all night with a sugar high, and I'm literally climbing my rock climbing wall. Why Father put that in I will never understand, but what's even more bizarre is the fireman's pole in my room.
"So, besides your coffee what did you do today, Bugaboo?" she smiles sweetly. "Well, after I rescued you from the tree, I caught up on some sewing and tonight Mama Cheng invited us for dumplings."
I was trying to forget about the tree indecent, but this we have no secrets, Journal, I'll write down here, but you have to promise not to tell!
We had a akuma fight this morning, and after the fight I wasn't paying attention as I waving goodbye to Ladybug, and totally crashed into a tree. I was so embarrassed! "Guess my cat senses were a little off," I tell her, trying to defend myself. "Maybe its all the tuna you've been eating." "Is that why you didn't want to kiss me this morning? Because I had tuna breath?" She giggles, her hand hiding her mouth. "That's part of it."
I need to work on not eating so much tuna, but its so good and you can put it in anything. Especially, noodle casserole…. "Cat, are you dreaming about noodles again?" I snap out of my daydream. "You really are becoming a mind reader, aren't you?" "Well, when we spend so much time together, it was bound to happen eventually."
Its really nice that we started to hang out a bit after akuma fights. Its not all the time, but I think Ladybug is letting her guard down just a little. Besides, we can trust Leo.
When we leave, its still warm and sticky out, and the sun casts shadows onto the sidewalk. "When we get there, I'm so sitting in front of fan." "Save a spot for me! Sometimes I think we just sit there so you look like a model, your hair blowing in the wind!" If only she knew I am a model! "We can both pretend to be models," I promise and we walk up the steps to the apartment.
The rest of the night goes like that, Ladybug and I bantering and Mama Cheng and Papa Dupain looking on amused.
"You two may be good at bantering and fighting off villains," Papa Dupain says. "But I will defeat you in Mario Party!"
"Tom, its not a competition!" Mama Cheng says. Papa can be well, let's just say he likes to win. "Loser has to buy the other two coffee or a smoothie."
Soon, my stomach hurts from laughing, as we battle our way to the finish. Its hard to say goodnight to Mama Cheng and Papa Dupain and even harder to say goodnight to Bugaboo, but I know I'll see them soon.
I can't believe I'm getting to the end of journal entries for now, Dear Journal. Where did the time go? I do feel like I'm grown up some, now that I've been writing in you more often. Hopefully, I can keep that up.
Thanks for letting me share my thoughts, feelings, and frustration in you, you truly are like a friend. Even if I have my friends, I still get lonesome. Tomorrow, I will go out and buy a clean new journal, ready to write about more adventures of Ladybug and Cat Noir.
I'll write soon again, Dear Journal, thanks for being my friend. I promise I won't forget you.
