"Actually the best gift you could have given her was a lifetime of adventures" - Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

Many wonderful things had happened to the Weasley family in the five years since Voldemort's demise. Hermione Weasley had graduated Hogwarts with straight O's across all of the NEWT's she had sat. She'd started working within the Ministry, rewriting legislation; to provide rights for animals, creatures and Humans alike, she wanted Wizarding Brittan to value the rights of everyone and had taken inspiration from the Muggle European Union and their charter for Human Rights; this was all under the approval of Minister Kingsley Shacklebolt who was also training Hermione to one day take over his role leading their nation.

Since the end of the war, Fred and George had begun to expand their pranking empire, taking Weasley's Wizard Wheezers international. So far, in addition to their London store, the pair had stores in Hogsmeade, Belfast, Dublin, Brisbane, Sidney, New York and Paris, with plans to open twenty more stores across the next ten years. Their goal was to one day have stores in every wizarding district across the globe.

As for the other Weasley's there had been many marriages and children born over the five years since the war had ended. Bill and Fleur who both still worked as Curse breakers for Gringotts had welcomed Victoire Weasley, the year after the war had ended, closely followed by Dominique the following year, Fleur was currently pregnant with their third child, a baby boy who they planned to name Louis.

Charlie Weasley had surprised his family shortly after the war by announcing his plans to marry Oliver Wood. The relationship between the dragon tamer and Quidditch player had come as a surprise to everyone, but they were happy and clearly loved one another very much. The pair had married the previous year and had adopted twins; Emily and Noah, the seven-year-olds had been orphaned in the war and were loved by the large Weasley Family who loved them just as much as the other children in the next generation of Weasley's.

Percy Weasley was engaged to a Muggleborn witch named Audrey who he'd met at the ministry; the blonde was his complete opposite but brought out a light heartedness in the usually stiff natured Weasley. Audrey who worked as a clerk in the ministry records department was always making the Weasley family laugh with her jokes and was unbelievably kind to everyone. Percy who was now Undersecretary to Kingsley Shacklebolt was bewitched by the former Hufflepuff. They had no children as yet, but perhaps once they tied the knot, they'd have some of their own, until then Audrey spent lots of time cuddling the baby Weasley's and playing peak a boo with them.

George Weasley had married his childhood sweetheart Angelina Johnson three years after the war had ended, the pair had yet to have children, Angelina was far too busy with her quidditch career. George and Angie agreed that it was something they wanted together in the future but for now were content to dote on their nieces and nephews and focus on their careers.

Ron was perhaps the most surprising Weasley; he'd begun dating Pansy Parkinson shortly after the war and the pair were now happily married with two children; three-year-old Alexzander and one year old Violet. Ron worked as the head strategist in the Auror Department whilst Pansy had her own fashion line that was popular in both the muggle and magical worlds. Their relationship had come out of nowhere and nobody had thought it would last, but the former Slytherin and Ron loved each other very much and had surpassed everyone's expectations.

Ginny and Harry had married a few months after the war concluded. Harry had rose rapidly in the Auror department and would be taking over the department once Head Auror Robards retired while Ginny had joined the Holyhead Harpies straight out of Hogwarts and was representing England in the next Quidditch World Cup. The young couple had yet to have a child of their own, though Harry desperately wanted one.

As for Hermione and Fred, well they'd decided that with both of their careers going so well, it was now the perfect time to start a family of their own and had been trying to fall pregnant for over a year.

It was Christmas day at Willowbrook Lodge, Fred, and Hermione's home, it was a large, thatched cottage in Norfolk. Hermione had fallen in love with the home when she'd seen that it had a vast library whilst Fred had loved that it came with lots of land and a basement for him to tinker with his products.

Their cottage was currently decorated in a rich array of Christmas colours; it was chaotic but well loved. Hermione was sitting on the thick carpeted floor of their living room, in front of their log burning stove and a towering evergreen that was decorated with, tinsel, baubles, fairy lights and candy canes. She wore her purple knitted jumper Molly Weasley had knitted for her the previous year and held a neatly wrapped box in one hand while she stroked Crookshanks' thick orange fur with the other.

"Hermione are you almost ready to go, I promised Matilda, I'd teach her to fly after breakfast," Fred called through the cottage.

"Freddie come here," she called, unable to mask the excitement from her voice.

"What are you doing in here," he asked as he propped himself in the doorway of the room.

"Come here, I have a present for you," she told him, patting the floor beside herself, inviting him to sit next to her.

"I thought we were doing presents at the Burrow with everyone else," he commented as he took a seat beside her.

"We are but this is a special present, one I want to give to you without the entire family present," she said whilst holding out the striped silver and blue box to her husband.

"Special present, you're not trying to prank me are you Mi, it didn't work out well last time," he laughed. Hermione smiled at him and shook her head.

"I promise no pranks, you won't get any broken bones with this gift," she laughed.

"Will I like the gift he asked," giving the box a light shake, no sound emitted from within, and Fred frowned down at his gift, wondering what she had gotten him that the rest of the family couldn't see.

"I promise your going to love it, open the gift Freddie," she directed, Fred did as instructed, undoing a ribbon from the gift box and pulling off the lid, he peered inside before reaching in and pulling out a tiny, knitted jumper.

"You got a jumper for Crookshanks," he questioned bemused.

"It's not for Crookshanks," she laughed, her eyes fixed on his face, she raised her hand to rest on her stomach, Fred's eyes followed the movement, widening as he realised what she was trying to say.

"You're pregnant," he asked, she nodded, a beaming grin upon her face.

"You're going to be a daddy Freddie," she told him happily, Fred grinned, tackling her into a bear hug, he pulled her into a searing kiss.

"This is the best present I've ever been given," he declared, reaching down to tuck his hand under her jumper, he pressed it against her bare stomach.

"You won't be able to feel anything yet, I'm only around two months along," she told him seriously.

"Were having a baby," he breathed, awed by the news that he'd soon be a father.

"Happy Christmas Freddie," she told him, leaning against his shoulder, Fred's arms still wound around her tightly.

"I love you, both of you, he told her, kissing her again.

"We love you too," she responded, soon they'd have to floo to the Burrow to spend Christmas with their extended families but for now, they were content, to share this moment together, sitting in their living room, both of them imagining a future with the child she was carrying.
