Command and Conquer: The Hammer and Sickle

Prologue chapter of my attempt at a Command and Conquer novelization, namely working to blend both main game series, starting of course with the very first Red Alert Game, hope you enjoy.

Disclaimer: I don't own Command and Conquer or its characters.

Prologue

1946, Trinity, New Mexico

The buzz and beeping of lab technology filled the room as the dark haired young researcher finished setting up the camera to record this fantastic incident that was about to happen. He could feel it in his bones, they were about to make history. He began checking other specs on the computer before him.

"Stop playing with that thing." The thick accented voice of his mentor snapped.

"I-I've just got to adjust this-" The researcher stammered.

His mentor sighed. "Give me the sequence calculations. NOW!"

Noting his mentor's impatience, the researcher hurried to the other computer as his mentor stepped into frame of the camera, checking his pocket watch. His mentor was none other than the famed Albert Einstein.

"They're already done." He told Einstein after checking them.

Einstein merely nodded. His mind was still full of the horrors of the recent war, the Second World War which had torn apart so much, so many lives lost or destroyed. He wanted to change things, to ensure that a war like that would not happen ever again. So he had devised a plan, it was his hope that with his plan, the Nazis would never rise for he was going to ensure their leader would disappear and disappear completely, as if he'd never existed. He sat down and took the clipboard that the researcher handed him, preparing for his plan, to travel back in time and remove Hitler from the timeline with a new device he had developed which was currently strapped to his wrist. Finished with the clipboard he handed it back to the researcher who went to the main control console of the other latest invention, the time machine and began inputting the calculations.

"I wonder if it will be raining." Einstein muttered, mostly to ease the nerves.

"Standby."

With that the researcher activated the machine and it happened, Einstein could feel the machine working and before long he faded and was catapulted through time until finally he arrived at where he needed to be.

1924, Landsberg, Germany

Emerging from the prison a disgruntled Adolf Hitler looked around briefly before walking away. Trying hard to give away nothing of his thoughts, holding his bag of belongings over his shoulder he began to whistle but stopped as an elderly man began approaching. He gave a brief nod in greeting and began to walk away when the old man called to him.

"Herr Hitler."

He turned to face him, eyes narrowing. "Ja. Was ist los? Ich habe keine Zeit hier rum zu stehen!"

The old man merely smiled at him and replied. "Ja... ich verstehe…"

He then offered his hand to shake. Hitler hesitated briefly but then transferred his bag to his other hand and took the elderly man's hand. There was then a burst of white light and when it faded, both men had vanished, in Hitler's case, erased entirely while Einstein returned to his own time.

1946, Trinity, New Mexico

With the same burst of white light, Einstein reappeared seated on the main device of the time machine. He checked his pocket watch again as the young researcher hurried up to him.

"Did you find him?"

"Hitler...is out of the way." Einstein said at last.

"Congratulations Professor." The researcher replied excitedly. "With Hitler removed-"

But he stopped as Einstein held up a hand to forestall him.

"Time will tell." Was all he said, winding his watch again. "Sooner or later...time will tell."
