It was a rainy night...
Selene split ways with her ally, David. Another heir, son of an elder from the Council.
They had an perfect plan, to ambush the leader of the Lycans...Marius.
Who was hunting her daughter, for her blood. And too, looking forward to destroying all Vampire Covens. So he could take over everything and slaughter all vampires.
It was easy to get into their territory unnoticed. It was a subway terminal.
With suppressors and silver bullets, they took some of Marius's men down.
But it all went South when Selene had a flashback. Suddenly.
Michael...
Maybe she could get Marius to speak before she ripped his throat out...
Her thoughts were interrupted when a shot hit the floor next to her.
There was no suppressor.
Selene acted quickly, shooting the man a lot of times to death. And got into the subway.
Empty crates...
No one there.
Then suddenly, there were men and werewolves coming from everywhere, slowly.
Selene, you need to get out. Now.-David on headset
He saw us coming. We need to track him down again.-Selene
We'll have time to plan it later. Let's move...we can shoot the weakest point and flee back to North.-David
Selene climbs to the top of the subway. Surrounded.
One of them were moving. Walking.
She couldn't see the person's face, because of a mask. A velvet demon mask.
You killed my men. And you're going to tell me why.-The voice came out low, bu thanks to her supernatural senses, she could hear it
The voice was unknown. As it's gender, thanks to the gear.
Tell Marius he has to stop this nonsense. This is going to bring chaos to both of our species...not that I care abou the Council.-Selene
Don't tell me what to do. I have no bonds with this guy. Now get out of my den, before I cut your head off.-The person spoke
Wait. What?-Selene
The person ignored her and looked up, listening to a howling echo.
We're safe again. Go tend your fellows.-The person spoke out loud so everyone could hear
The men and wolves split out, shifting back and moving as told.
The person got into the subway.
David moved to follow it with Selene, but she told him to stay outside.
The subway was bigger than it looked. Lots of them were integrated together.
Using her perk, Selene did her best to persuade the person next to her.
The apparently, leader of that pack of wolves, leaned her hands over a control pannel, with red lights.
You're really trying me.-The person
I'm not a enemy, ok? I'm just trying to protect what's left of my family.-Selene
How touching.-The person answered
Selene approached the person in silent, muffled steps.
Don't try anything. You don't know me.-The person
Please. It's my daughter...I have to protect her. I need to stop Marius.-Selene reasoned
I don't need to get revenge on you for earlier. You're already messed up enough.-The person
You're a werewolf. I can smell it on you. Don't you want to make Alexander Corvinus proud?-Selene
It has nothing to do with honor.-The person turned to look at her
The Council could reward you.-Selene
I couldn't care less about it.-The person
Selene turned away to leave.
So you're going to ignore the war?-Selene
You can go.-The person answered
Selene and David left the den.
After two days...
They arrived in the North. The Nordic Coven.
Vidar, the leader, and Lena, his daughter, received them well.
Into the chambers...
David, I'll take a rest...-Selene
You need it. I'll be with Vidar.-David nodded squeezing her shoulder
Selene went to a bedroom and rested for a couple hours, to regain her energy and heal some light injuries, like bruises.
When she woke up again, she was scared.
She had another dream with Michael. Her lover.
The grenade separating them.
It was too painful to accept. He was the love of her life.
And too, she had to say goodbye to her daughter. They didn't even have time enough to bond...
Tears rolled down her pale cheek.
She cried silently.
Some time later, when she felt better, she left the bedroom.
The hallway was empty.
Then she noticed something leaving the shadows, where the torchs couldn't reach.
Feeling better?-A familiar person
Did you change your mind?-Selene
I asked first.-The person
Not at all...but I'll survive.-Selene
Umm...maybe.-The person
The velvet demon mask had scratches.
Selene felt overwhelmed suddenly and things started darkening.
She felt heat around her. Then nothing.
When she woke up again, she was in the same bedroom as before.
3 minutes. Maybe you need some rest.-The person spoke from the window
The voice sounded better to be heard. She didn't have her mask on anymore. It was a dark skinned woman.
I can't-.-Selene
You must rest before everything. I'll be here.-The woman spoke
Selene closed her eyes, trying to relax.
Michael.
She would never love again.
Her body ached for the heat she felt before passing out.
And just like magic, the woman approached her in the bed.
Then she pulled a thick quilt over the vampire's body.
I need heat.-Selene
The woman who had a large scar over her right eye, furrowed her eyebrows, quietly.
You're really having a bad time.-The woman spoke
She moved lazily, laying down beside her.
Better?-The woman
Yes.-Selene closed her eyes, next to her
Then she slept quickly.
Only to wake up scared again.
Selene sat up, trying to relax.
Then she saw the woman, asleep beside her.
Just like impulse. She straddled the woman without thinking and kissed her.
The woman's reaction was none at first. Then she gripped the vampire's hips tight.
She was different than Michael, who was her first kiss, and her first time.
He tasted mint. She tasted cinnamon.
Michael.
It was wrong.
She loved Michael.
Selene pulled away, plopped beside the woman. Who was breathless on the bed, leaning on her elbows, watching her quietly.
Please, leave.-Selene
The woman got up quietly, taking her boots on her hand, heading out.
Will you stay?-Selene asked still sitting on the bed
The woman ignored her and left, closing the door soflty.
