"I can't believe this..."

I sighed out loud in the back of my parent's car shuffling music on my MP3 Player. I looked out the window witnessing the fall foliage fall from the trees. Typical September blues. Not only that, but my parents' business, Poppy Coffeehouse decided to fail during my peak of adolescence! Anyways, the town we moved to, Bullworth seems very sketchy. In a way, it's like Bullworth is hiding something from the public. But hey, maybe I'm being too paranoid about it all. I keep finding excuses as to why the town of Bullworth is worse than my hometown.

"Aw (Y/N), don't tell me you're still upset from moving! It's what we had to do!" Mom turned her head to face me in my solitude.

"Now honey, think about the positive!" Dad interrupted her, "...your mother and I decided to move for the better! Not only that, but we enrolled you in one of the top schools in the nation, Bullworth Academy!"

Mom made it rain with Bullworth Academy pamphlets and brochures, I'm surprised Dad didn't crash the car with her being a complete distraction, but it's whatever I guess.

Crap! what happens if I'm the only loser who's new there? I hate to admit it but I'm hella nervous. I never saw myself as 'boarding school material'. It's bad enough that I already have that "fish out of water" look painted all over my face. Why couldn't Bullworth just have been a normal public school instead of some bullshit high echelon academy? Bullworth Academy? More like Bullshit Academy...

Suddenly, my Dad hit hard on the breaks.

"Oh Gee Wilkers, I almost passed your new school!"

Bullworth Academy in all its glory, the school itself looked older than my previous one. I understand that my parents moving was definitely the right thing to do for their career, but I'm really gonna miss all the friends that I had made back at home. Being here at Bullworth won't be the same without them especially attending Bullworth Academy alone.

I got all my stuff out of the trunk and then stared at the gothic gates of Bullworth Academy. Was I ready to walk in there? Hell no! I got startled to hear the car horn honk at me. "Remember honey, if you're ever in trouble, call us." Mom made a phone gesture with her hand as both she and Dad cruised away to the other side of town. I sheepishly waved at them with a frown slowly appearing on my lips. I'd be lying if I said my heart wasn't racing at this particular moment.

"You must be the (L/N) girl."

I became startled again to hear the voice of a woman. I can see why this town's so sketchy, nobody introduces themselves properly.

"We've been expecting you here at Bullworth Academy."

I nodded having a hard time finding the words to come out of my mouth.

"I'm Miss Danvers, I'm sure you'll be very pleased with your stay here."

I smiled at the woman, to me she seems so fake. Also, why was her appearance so outdated? The 1950s happened fifty years ago...

"I'm sure I will."

I have to play nice, first impressions count.

"Our headmaster, Dr. Crabblesnitch is waiting for you in his office."

I grabbed my stuff, "Well here goes nothing..."

I subtly knocked on the door to let the Headmaster know I had arrived. "Hello, Dr. Crabblebitch."

Oh no, did I mistake Crabblesnitch for Crabblebitch? Let's hope he didn't catch that...

He stared at me blankly, yet intensely. I anticipated the worst. But all he said was,

"Ah, you're (Y/N) (L/N)! I have heard so much about you!"

Pfft, he didn't.

"You have? Good things I hope." I said as I gave Dr. Crabblesnitch a puzzled look.

"Yes! Indeed! Your report card reinforces the fact that you are an excellent student." He continued, "Here at Bullworth Academy we are more than welcoming to vigilant students. Do not fret Miss (L/N), you'll fit in fine here. Especially with the faculty."

Yeah right.

"Thanks... I-uh really appreciate that, Dr. Crabblesnitch."

I took a seat in the cushy office chair opposite of his.

"You've practically got As, in almost every subject, it seems you exceed the standards here." He remarked.

Why was he so stunned?

"Well, it's not like it's hard or anything, Dr. Crabblesnitch. I just keep my head down and do my work." I answered.

Don't private institutions like this want kids with high academic intelligence?

"Yes, yes. Well, I'm very pleased with your report card, (Y/N), and your manners, oh how your parents must be so proud!"

I quietly let out a small laugh.

"Oh yes Headmaster, we were just talking about how much I adore the (L/N)'s!" Miss Danvers said as she barged in with a stack of paper.

"Uh no-"

"What a wonderful family, I'm glad your parents considered Bullworth Academy!"

Not like they had a choice.

"Come along, now Miss (L/N) I will show you around campus." I followed Miss Danvers.

"Oh and Miss (L/N), I wish both of your parents good luck with their grand opening!" "I might even stop by one of these days... Go on now!"

"Bye Dr. Crabblesnitch! I guess I'll see you around campus."

I immediately rolled my eyes as soon as I turned my back.

"Follow me, Miss (L/N). I'll show you around Bullworth!"

I trailed behind Miss Danvers.

She showed me all around the school as still it was in session. I couldn't help but notice the dirty stares from some of the students as I walked through the halls. Damn. I haven't even been here 2 hours and the students couldn't even give me a chance? I even saw two girls laugh in my direction. I tried to brush it off, but it truly does suck being disliked for being new.

Miss Danvers and I exited the school. We approached the courtyard.

"To the left you'll see the boys' living areas-" "You are obviously not allowed inside there."

Not like I'd ever have a reason to.

"And to your right are the Girls' Dorms. I'll escort you to your dorm so you know exactly where you'll be staying."

"Alright, sounds good."

We entered the girls' living area. No one was inside. The atmosphere was sparse and creepy, but the building was beautifully decorated in pink. Not to mention it was tidy and well-kept.

"So this is your dorm here. Your uniform is on your bed. You'll be starting tomorrow. Make sure you're up and ready before 9 A.M.!"

I nodded my head.

"Also, if I were you, I would put my uniform on now." She whispered to me, smiling. "School's technically still in session at the moment, so the prefects might bust you for not being in uniform." She continued.

It was 11 A.M. I still had 4 hours until school officially ends.

"Soooo, what do I do until school ends?"

"Oh-uh-you could make yourself acquainted with the school grounds! You could also make yourself acquainted with the other students if you wish. I already told the prefects to keep a lookout for a female student wandering around the school."

Nope, not doing that.

"Oh-okay. I guess I'll stay inside for now."

"Okay? So that's all for now Miss (L/N). Bye now!"

I put the straitlaced uniform on, white knee high socks and black loafers paired with a short sleeved white button down and a dark teal plaid skirt that came down just above the knee.

Damn, this skirt's ugly!

I rolled it up a couple of times for it to hit my mid thigh. I checked myself out in the mirror,

Much better.

I gotta say, with the few touch ups I made on this uniform, I cleaned up pretty well.

Out of stress, I played around with my silver locket that ran across my chest, casually daydreaming for the possible unexpected.

I don't know what it was but I totally sense now that there's definitely something off about Bullworth Academy, why couldn't I put my finger on it?
