Author's Note: I recently got into Halo by the TV series, and I know from what I read and all that no one liked it. Pretty much mixed to negative reviews mostly by fans. I understand. But this is what got me hooked on the series.
This is a mixture of my OC's manga/mangaka/story that I'm working on I just have other art to do before moving on to I think either Page 3 or Page 4 of Space Angel.
Also, I'm considering re-writing this one, so if you enjoyed the first chapter and don't see it around, please stick around. I think the one I'm thinking of will be 100% better.
Disclaimer: I don't own Halo or any of the characters. I don't even own the TV show, Paramount owns the rights to film it. 343 or Bungie owns the franchise. I just own the worlds, any OC's that appear.
Please enjoy!
Location: Ziri Area: Dalry
Time: 1318 Military Time
A young woman entered a room and observed the console to her right. Her gaze was drawn to the monitor. This chamber looked like a network station to her.
She walked over to the console and held out her palm for the sensor to scan. Everything in the room began to come to life shortly after that.
Ziri is a remote planet with a geothermal plant within the area that keeps the world warm, according to an A.I. It also went through each topic in detail. It explained that Haram was a region on the planet's surface.
Every part of the planet was unique. Dalry was mostly heated and featured a geothermal plant, as said, but there was another region she'd already seen, Arcton. It was essentially a research facility built in and around the water.
She discovered that she had arrived in Bocreau, the planet's lowest point. There was a biological lab, a refuge of some type, and an underground forest near the planet's surface somewhere. She did notice that the A.I. didn't include one region on the map, but she decided not to inquire because she didn't think it was important.
The Intergalactic Federation dispatched Christine to inspect the situation. They had dispatched robots to conduct research, but they had lost contact with them after they arrived. And she consented because she was impressed by the architecture she was witnessing.
But what exactly was it? She had no idea.
She'd discovered 'zones' where the robots were roaming, and if it noticed her, certain exits would be closed. That merely meant she'd have to pay close attention. Christine had discovered that when the robot approached, it would make a chirping noise, indicating that she needed to move quickly or hide.
If the robot saw her, she would have to run for her life. There was no telling what it would do if it caught her. Other than possibly death. Christine concluded that she'd have to either hide or stay moving. Not having anywhere to hide, she just kept running, hoping it would lose movement of whatever was in its patrol area. If the robot could detect movement, she needed a way to hide from it. However, where? She had no idea and was curious as to why the Federation made it.
That robot was still patrolling the area, that just meant she needed to find the exit before it discovered her. She had finally found the exit to the zone after running in and out of rooms and finally walked out of the zone as soon as she heard the chirping noise again.
Christine had ultimately discovered an elevator and examined the wording on it. It would transport her to Floysau. Christine paused in the elevator, taking in her reflection. She donned a red and black skintight full-body jumpsuit with wedge heels and her long brown hair in a ponytail. Her sword was strapped to her back and her gunblade was strapped to her thigh. She had a shoulder holster for her gun.
Running around Floysau, Christine had eventually found another elevator that took her to the sanctuary, and what she found there was hard for her to believe with her own eyes. The weapons there looked like they would belong to the Covenant. Did that mean they once lived there? Or was it something else?
She looked over to her right and walked over to it after seeing something. She couldn't tell what species it was, but she did note that it was wearing something that made it appear half-invisible.
She reached for it and took it off, noticing it was a cloak of some sort. Hearing a disturbance behind her, she whirled around to see nothing. Looking back at the cloak, she felt compelled to put it on.
She slipped the cloak on after taking a deep breath.
Location: Ziri Area: Arcton
Time: 2323 Military Time
Christine came across chained beasts while traveling between places on the planet. She had no idea why. Unless the Covenant intended to release the beast, she had no idea. When she entered another zone, she halted when she heard a chirping sound. A robot appeared from another room just as she was ready to put on the hood.
Its light changed from blue to crimson as it saw her.
Damnit!
She ran, spinning on her heels, with the robot chasing her. She knew it was pointless to put the hood on now that the robot had her dead in its sights. It didn't matter if she jumped to a higher level, moved to another room, slipped under a narrow space, or even jumped to a lower level.
It was directly behind her. She had to get rid of the robot! How, though? She couldn't run indefinitely without becoming exhausted. That monster could also creep through small areas. That aggravated her. Christine knew she had to keep moving after the robot reached out to grab her and missed. All she could do was pick up the pace a little.
She was able to get some distance from the robot by doing so. It quickly lost track of her and began looking for her. Christine then slid her hood up and disappeared. She remained there watching as the robot approached and searched for her. Its head moved up and down before turning around and peering behind it. Its head bowed down, going beneath its body, and it walked back the way it came, its lights changing from yellow to blue.
Sighing in relief, she kept the hood up and made her way to the exit to get out of the zone. By now, she had seen almost all of the planet minus one area. Even when she had approached it, there was nothing there. It was like a massive door but there was no way of opening it up.
Christine had also had more run-ins with the robots to which the A.I. said they were called Strategic Data Protection Machine or S.D.P.M. for short. The Federation had sent them to Ziri to research some information. However, upon arrival, the robots had seemingly vanished. The Federation decided to ask for help and the mission was sent to an A.I. back home which classified it as an S-rank, and it was given to her.
Coming to a room in Arcton, Christine noticed signs of activity. Something that wasn't there before. Seeing an Elite, Christine had immediately hidden behind some containers. She wasn't expecting to run into the Covenant. Would it be wise to kill them? To let them know that they're not alone on Ziri? Or to assassinate them quietly? Her thoughts replayed the scenario over and over.
She could take them to the zone where S.D.P.M. was patrolling and delegate her duties to it. However, if there were more, they may tell the others, who would then be on the lookout for her.
Christine's body tenses when she senses a presence behind her. She assumed she had been caught by either a Grunt or an Elite. She slowly turned around to see a small spherical robot with a screen in front of her.
Her heart was beating because she couldn't tell if the robot belonged to the Covenant or the Federation. The small robot gave out some type of alert before she could move.
She assumed it belonged to the Covenant after that. Christine stood and hurried passed some Elite and Grunts, her ears covered. They were also suppressing the loud noise when the small robot approached them and did the same.
That signified it was one of the Federation's S.D P.M. robots dispatched to the planet. Christine didn't linger much longer and moved on. As she watched, some of the Covenant in front of her drew their guns and attempted to shoot at her or the robot.
Shit. Why does this happen to me so frequently? Do I really stand out?
Christine continued racing after jumping down to the lower walkway; she had no intention of stopping. She would keep jumping down to lesser levels in the room until she reached the lowest level and proceeded straight to the door. Christine rushed up to the door, hoping the small robot wouldn't follow her into the next room.
Christine accelerates as she notices the door open and dashes through it into the next room. Leaning forward, she rested her hands on her knees and attempted to catch her breath as the door closed behind her.
She straightened up after taking a few long breaths and realized she was at another Network Station. The door in front of her locked as she tried to get through. Christine turned and moved to the center of the room, groaning, to speak with the A.I.
It said, "I believe I have someone attempting to speak with you."
"Chr…ine... an… e? is… e… y… u… m…?" Christine stood there and frowned.
She could hear her name being shouted but couldn't make out what it was because of the static.
"Can you hear me, Christine?" The voice had finally broken through.
The voice belonged to the Intergalactic Federation's Admiral. She had admiration for this man other than Ryne. But what was the reason he was trying to reach her?
"I'm aware of your presence. She said, "Loud and clear."
"We seemed to have lost contact with you as soon as you landed, we've been working with APOLLO and the A.I. there on trying to get a connection with you." He explained.
"What's your situation there?" he asked.
Standing there Christine's mind began to think about when she first landed there and took the elevator down to the depths of the planet. The lowest area Bocreau was where she had to start off, due to the elevator leading to the surface being destroyed.
Opening her mouth, Christine began her explanation of everything that's been going on. The Admiral didn't say a word, nor did he speak as she explained the elevator that leads to the surface being destroyed, running into Covenants and the S.D.P.M.
"Wait, you said, S.D.P.M., correct?" The Admiral interrupted her.
"Yes, I did," She answered.
"Those are the same ones that we lost contact with when they arrived there, but why…?" He thought to himself.
"And you've already run into the Covenants as well," He continued.
Nothing was making sense, why would the Covenants be there along with the robots that they sent unless…
"Christine, I'm giving you two new objectives. First, see what the Covenant is doing there and eliminate them if possible. Two destroy the S.D.P.M.," the Admiral said.
Standing there Christine took in his words, "Are you sure you want me to destroy the robots?" she asked.
There was silence on the other end, she took that as a yes.
"No, I'm not sure. But since they've been reprogrammed, then you have no choice," he answered.
"Any objections, ma'am?" He asked.
Christine stood there thinking over her new objectives and trying to figure out how to destroy the robots.
"No objections," she replied.
Location: Ziri Area: Gaplax
Time: 0107 Military Time
Christine arrived in Gaplax after taking elevator after elevator. This was the sanctuary she had seen before. She strolled closer to the carvings and other decorations on the walls. She frowned as she couldn't place the writing. Taukrekh and Dercean had raised her, therefore it wasn't from them.
Something told her to flee as she stood there. The longer she disregarded it, the more her gut instinct screamed at her. She had finally raised the hood, concealing herself, and she had seen the same little robot from earlier. It was unable to see or detect her. Standing there, she reasoned that if it could be modified to fight on her side, it wouldn't be so horrible.
She slowly but steadily took out her gunblade and set it to gun mode. Lifting the weapon to face the small robot, which was facing her with its back to her. She fired the shot.
When the small thing senses an impact, it turns and looks around. Not seeing anything, it began scanning the area, only to come across a gun barrel. Christine had pulled the trigger, destroying the screen before it could sound an alarm.
Christine knelt to pick up the fallen robot as she walked closer to it. She glanced at it before stowing it in her supply pouch. She then traveled throughout Gaplax for a while before discovering more Covenant. What astonished her was that one of their own species was murdering them.
Ouch. Talking about waking up on the wrong side of the bed.
She remained at a safe distance, waiting to see what would happen. She wanted to know if that guy was on his own side, irritated that his unit was a scumbag, or if he had betrayed them. She could conclude that he had betrayed them based on his actions.
Christine had trailed behind the Covenant, keeping her hood up, as he slaughtered his own kind. She observed a dead human out of the corner of her eye. She approached him, knelt alongside him, and examined him. He appeared to be an Intergalactic Federation representative. What was he doing in this place? He had a pair of gloves, knee protectors, and toe coverings in his hands, she saw.
She took the gloves from his grip and examined them closely; she wasn't sure, but they appeared to be able to attach to specific surfaces. Looking up, she saw that the Covenant she was following had vanished, and she cursed herself. She had lost track of him. Standing, she followed the path of Covenants who had died, only to frown when it came to an end.
Seeing a door slide open, she furrowed her brows and lowered her hood walking in. Her eyes scanned the room, carvings on the wall. Words she couldn't read. Hearing a noise, Christine looked behind her only to see nothing. Frowning but keeping her guard up, something was telling her, she wasn't alone. Turning her head, she looked back at the words trying to see if something would look familiar to her.
Looking to her right, she noticed what appeared to be rubble. Her gaze was drawn up to a person dressed in armor and wielding a spear. It was sitting on the rubble when its eyes lit up and it started moving. It stood up and moved closer to her. It spun its spear around while spreading its legs.
Christine paused to examine the creature. It appeared to be a bird species. Was there ever such a thing?
"Moto, ozali na esika te awa." It began, "Ozali mondimi ya Boyokani, mpe nyonso oyo olingi ezali mayele na biso oyo ebungaki banda kala. (You do not belong here, human. You're with the Covenant, and all you want is our long-forgotten knowledge.)" it said.
She reached up and took her sword from her back; there was no way she could battle anything with a spear in hand-to-hand combat. She had no idea what it was saying to her because she didn't speak the language. Before raising its spear up for a stab, the monster would spin it. Christine did a backflip to evade the spear.
She brought out her gunblade and turned the switch to machine-gun mode, placing her blade back on her back. She fired at it after pulling the trigger and hopping over it to fire again. It did the same thing again. She leaped over it once more. She would sprint to the opposite side of the room, pause, and fire at it.
The creature would slowly move towards Christine, before jumping back placing itself on the wall before pushing off. Seeing it coming in her direction, Christine quickly moved, as the creature would stab the ground where she was at a few moments ago.
It would be so much easier if I could get rid of the spear and use martial arts to go in on my own.
The creature would raise its spear and slowly approach her before leaping to the wall and attempting to impale her.
"Ozali na ndingisa te ya koleka ngai. Okozua te boyebi ya lolenge na ngai oyo ebungaki. (You are not permitted to pass me. You will not take my kind's lost knowledge." It spoke again.
Frowning Christine was completely oblivious to what the bird was saying. She also saw that it had a pattern of assault. She might be able to quickly remove it if she kept a close eye on it. But she had to keep her gaze fixed on the spear.
The bird hurriedly twirled the spear once more before flying over to Christine. When Christine saw the spearheaded her way, she quickly reattached her gunblade to her thigh and rushed a short distance to meet it halfway. With one foot on the spear, she balled her right fist and slammed it into the armored bird.
Seeing a dent in its armor, she pushed herself off the creature and flip over it. Turning around to face the creature, she watched as it leaped to the wall, and stayed there for a second more, before quickly moving to her. Seeing it moving faster, she knew it was getting to the point where it had to end this fight quickly.
She stood her ground, watching and waiting for the right opportunity to strike. Christine reached out and grasped the spear, kicking the armored bird in the exact location where the dent had been caused, swung the monster around, and slammed it into the wall in front of her.
She was about to pierce the creature with the spear she was spinning in her hands, but the creature spoke before she could throw it. She understands a language.
"Please wait, young one," it said.
Young one?
Christine was perplexed because she was only known by two species.
"Please accept my apologies for attacking you, young one." It talked. "My name is Gray Bird, and I am an As'oth."
As'oth? When she was younger, she had heard of that species. They had separated into two tribes, but they continued to work together. Christine stepped over to Gray Bird, dropping the spear.
"I mistook you for Covenant, seeking our understanding of the world; I did not intend to attack you," he explained.
"I am the last of my kind here, young one, the rest of the As'oth have left this world and moved to others," he explained.
"The Covenant are seeking knowledge of the As'oth for some reason, I must ask you young one, please destroy this world," he begged.
"Why would you want this world to be destroyed with you here?" Christine asked.
"I have been guarding our knowledge ever since the decision was made to leave here," He answered.
Why would they leave? Unless it was dealing with the Covenant? But then again, she wasn't sure. She knew they lived long lives compare to humans and other species. But she didn't know exactly how long they lived.
"The others left here, seeking new worlds, and seeking harmony. We are tired of others finding us and trying to obtain our knowledge," he explained.
That makes sense.
"I take it the Covenant is one?" Christine asked.
He nodded his head, "Them and other humans as well,"
Frowning Christine knew that most humans were selfish and greedy bastards, but she didn't think they would be after lost and old knowledge of the As'oth.
"What will happen to you though?" she asked.
If the bird could smile, his smile would reach up to his eyes.
"Young one, I have been around for decades, it is time for me to go," he answered.
She didn't like the sound of that. She didn't like to see anyone die. But in this situation, she understood.
"There is a geothermal plant located in Dalry, shut it down and the planet will freeze over," he spoke, "Without heat, this world will be useless to inhabitants, anyone remaining will try to flee,"
She wasn't the type of lady who, if forced to, would kill an entire planet like another woman. Christine was continually attempting to save the situation. If she couldn't save things, she didn't feel like she was being raised to be a nice person.
She wasn't a hero; she was just a regular person. She began to think while balling her hand. Should she let the planet freeze over and destroy it? Or do to let life go on? She had seen fauna there as well, but none of it would survive.
"However, what about wildlife? When this planet begins to freeze over, they'll perish," Christine speculated.
The As'oth didn't say anything, and she knew that was her answer. She pondered her options as she stared down at her feet. She didn't want the planet's life to perish due to the extreme cold. However, she was unable to save them.
She had no choice but to extinguish all life on Ziri and the entire planet. There was no other choice.
"Christine gave a tiny nod before raising her head to face the As'oth and saying, "I'll do it."
Christine then began looking for an elevator that would take her to Dalry. But it would be impossible without a map.
Traveling between locations when she came to a halt at one of Arcton's network stations. She was then notified of an incident in Dalry, where the geothermal plant had failed and most of Dalry, as well as several other places, had frozen over.
The entire world will be frozen if the geothermal plant was not turned back on within a specified amount of time. That meant Christine had to return to Dalry and restart the geothermal plant to get the lava flowing properly and provide heat to the planet.
As she approached the elevator, she noticed what appeared to be more Covenant-related technology. Christine grimaced; apart from fauna and, of course, herself, she hasn't found any life on the planet.
When she arrived at the elevator, she discovered that it was broken, forcing her to walk a great distance to the second elevator on the opposite side of Arcton.
Son of a bitch.
She cursed herself. She only hoped she'd be able to get in before the area froze over. That meant she'd have to retrace her steps once she arrived in Dalry.
When she arrived at the other side of the elevator, she was relieved to see that it was in great operating order. The doors closed behind her as she stepped inside, and the elevator began its trip to Dalry.
I'm hoping I'll be able to make it in time.
Christine would discover doors frozen solid if she took a different route. This would cause her to turn around and choose a different path. She was grateful that she could fit in the little areas, which were mostly small.
She leaped up and clutched a ledge with her right hand. She would pull herself up and crawl across the confined space. She would grab onto the edge as she emerged from the other side before letting herself fall to the floor.
Christine would be attempting to evade Covenant's fire. She'd leap over them and sprint away. Something had to be done. The A.I. desired that she preserves the planet, but the As'oth desired that she destroys it. She hoped she would be able to salvage it.
She knew she wasn't far from the Geothermal plant; it was only a few steps beyond this and another door. Christine sprang down and dashed to the next door, only to find it frozen in place.
Damnit. There must be another way in.
Looking around the room, she found another crawl space. High above, leaping back up from the floor to floor, she leaped up and grabbed the ledge. Pulling herself up, she began to crawl through the tight space. Feeling a cold breeze hit her face, she knew she was close.
She let herself fall when she came to the open. She stood and hurried over to the console after landing safely on the ground, but when she approached it, she discovered it was destroyed and beyond repair. She dashed over to the glassed window and peered down into the lava pit; it was freezing. It was impossible to know how long it had been cold. It didn't seem to be producing any heat.
She returned to the console, shaking her head, "I can't do anything... It was sabotaged... But why?" She spoke quietly.
Christine was devastated that she was unable to preserve it. Even though this was what the As'oth desired. Did he pull it off? Christine looked around and couldn't find anything that resembled his work. That something or someone else had done it.
She turned around and rushed back in the same way she came from after taking several steps back. She needed to return to the Network Station from whence she had come to inform the A.I. of the situation. And, most likely, this is the time to flee before the globe freezes over. Christine managed to return to Arcton by going back and forth from room to room. She turned to check at the elevator she had just gotten off after hearing a disturbance behind her, only to find it frozen solid.
She realized she had to act quickly because the world was about to freeze.
She didn't have time to stand about, shaking her head. Christine turned around and sprinted directly toward the Network Station, which was conveniently close to her current location. Christine returned to the Network Station and approached the console, where she spoke with the A.I.
"I couldn't get the Geothermal Plant to switch back on since the control had been tampered with," Christine revealed.
"This is bad news," the A.I. said, "it'll only be a matter of time before the entire planet freezes."
She was aware of this, but she also recognized the urgency with which she needed to flee. "You must leave immediately; regrettably, neither you nor I can help the wildlife here; everything will freeze," it stated.
"How about yourself? You're an A.I., but you may also freeze," Christine speculated.
"For me, it won't matter here, I am one with the planet," it answered.
Frowning, Christine knew there was no way it was one with the planet. Standing there thinking to herself, the A.I. could be helpful to the Pirates but she was unsure of things.
"Leave here and return to the surface; any doors that close behind you will be sealed, and elevators will be disabled after usage," it began. "Only open doors are the way to proceed; any closed or sealed doors will require you to turn around," it said.
She inquired, "Where is your computer chip?"
Christine wasn't going to leave Ziri unless she could save the A.I. She wanted to do something to help because she couldn't preserve the fauna there. She groaned and began walking to the open door when the A.I. didn't respond.
"You can check-in at any Network Station to see where the next elevator is and what the best route is," the A.I. explained.
But it didn't tell her where its chip was located at. Which made her frown, she wanted to help, but how could she if it doesn't help her. Sighing to herself, she knew she had to make her way to the surface which also meant that it would take her time.
It was a long way up; she would have to take either the elevators up or the train to the next area. Christine then runs out of the Network Station and begins heading towards the elevator, she'd only stop when she would come into another Network Station to check for the directions on the map for the elevator and from there she would proceed forward.
She did notice that when she entered a room, the door would close after her. As a result, she was unable to return to any of the locations beneath her. She didn't have time to stay, grinding her teeth. The planet was cold and moving quickly. Even though she carried Dercean DNA, she was not about to take a chance and stay.
It would be her bad luck if the planet froze over as well. When she arrived at another Network Station, she double-checked to see which way to go. She noticed a lot of doors that were marked red, which she assumed meant they were closed and sealed. And that must imply that the green doors are the ones she desires.
She struggled to remember which routes to take as she ran out of the Network Station, leaping up and grasping a ledge to pull herself up. She had to hesitate when she saw what was in front of her. She had to consider whether this was the best course of action. However, she remembered seeing this path on the map at the previous Network Station.
She prayed to herself that the S.P.D.M. wasn't around or at the very least patrolling other places. When she first walked in, the mood was tense, as it often was; she didn't hear any chirping noises, but she opted not to stay.
She picked up the pace and started running. She'd be hopping down or up to go to different levels. When she entered a room, she discovered the S.P.D.M. was there, but it wasn't moving.
Was it the As'oth who did it? Christine chose not to stay and continued moving through the zone toward the exit and elevator, shaking her head.
When she arrived at the elevator, she noticed that the doors had been opened and were ready for her. She climbed up the steps, the doors shut behind her, and it began to rise.
She was taking the elevator up to the next area when she heard a commotion and turned around to see that the elevator had been disabled.
As she approaches an opening, she witnesses a monster from the lake raise its head and flee. Christine stands there wishing she could help, but she knows she can't.
Christine would keep running, stopping only at the Network Station to double-check the course she needed to travel before continuing. She'd finally find a Shuttle that would carry her to the next place, and she'd continue.
Christine kept running and only stopped in at the Network Station to check for the path she needs to take and keeps going. She would eventually come to a Shuttle that would take her to the next area and would proceed.
She rode elevators and shuttles like she was on her way to the surface. Because the landscape had begun to shift. She was in what appeared to be a structure. The A.I. had informed her the last time she checked in at a Network Station that all of Dalry, Gaplax, Floysau, and Arcron was totally frozen over.
She also noted that she had not encountered any Covenants since the planet began to freeze, and she was still perplexed as to who had tampered with the geothermal plant controls.
So, were they to blame? She had no idea, and she knew she wasn't going to get any answers.
Christine arrived at a clean path with one obstacle after so much jogging. She couldn't possibly jump so high. She had to use the elevator to get to the surface, but it had been destroyed, so she had to take an alternate route that led to her current location. But there was no way up, no means for her to reach the surface. That meant she was trapped and on the verge of freezing to death.
Christine spotted what appeared to be blue magnetic strips along the walls as she stood there. She delved into her pouch and pulled out the gloves, knee pads, and toe covers she remembered. She put on the toe covers and knee protection after slipping on the gloves. She discovered her right hand was attached to the wall when she reached out with it. Her assumption was correct. Because the gloves were magnetic, she was able to climb the walls designated with blue magnetic strips.
Not wasting any more time, Christine began to climb the walls as fast as she could. Looking up, she noticed that this was going to be a long climb up. She wasn't sure how much time she had left until the world froze, but she had to make it out alive.
My arms and legs will be hurting me by the time I reach the summit!
Her arms begged her to stop and let them rest when she was only a third of the way up. She didn't dare to stop or drop back down, though. That would make it more difficult for her to leave. Christine reasoned that keeping her mind occupied would help her out.
When she returned home, the first thing she wanted to do was report to the Intergalactic Federation and return to her apartment. Take a long, hot shower and just unwind. She specifically desires to sleep in her own bed. Which she longs for. She realized she'd have to eat before she could shower. Is that something she wants to do before or after her shower? She planned to do it after her shower.
Christine reached out and grabbed the edge of the ledge above her, pulling herself up. Finally, she reached the top and, spotting an aperture, she removed the equipment and stored it. Standing there, she spotted a long drop down the path she had taken.
I seriously hope I never have to climb this high again. Right now, my body is killing me.
Looking ahead of her, she could hear rainfall, which meant she was at the surface or close. Running, she would be jumping up or climbing up to a higher ledge. At least the climb was more like, a foot higher than her.
Coming in a Network Station, Christine thought the last one below was it. Seeing the door in front of her open, meant she should keep moving. But she couldn't get the A.I. out of her head. Walking over to the center, she stood in front of the huge orb.
"I know you said not to worry about yourself but consider this. I can hand you over to the Admiral, who might hand you over to the General," she continued, "both are really fine men who could use your aid, and APOLLO could use your support."
"The Intergalactic Federation and APOLLO both know so little," she sighed. "With your help, you could help them learn a lot more about the universe and the Covenants," she added.
Even though APOLLO had a lot of knowledge, he still had a lot to learn. If this A.I. accompanied her, it could be of great assistance to APOLLO.
Christine saw her lack of hearing as a warning that she should move on. She observed a canister of type jutting out after hearing a clicking noise.
She noticed a yellow light as she reached for it. It reminded me of HADES. The same light, but yellow instead of red.
She took it in her hands and securely stowed it away. She was thrilled to finally breathe fresh air as she ran towards the exit and out of the cavern. She dashed up to her gunship and leaped up onto the hatch, which opened as soon as it detected activity and lowered her inside.
She walked into the cockpit and sat down, tapping, and sliding buttons across the holographic panel in front of her. Her ship began to move as she placed her palm on the thruster.
Lifting from the ground, it hovered there for a few minutes before moving up and off Ziri.
Christine grimaced as she looked at the globe from the outside. It was too bad she couldn't help the animals. She sighed and concluded that it was time to return home.
She pulled the throttle down and into Slipstream Space by pressing another button.
