Chapter 1: Daniel's origins

Douglas Davenport knew that the game was up.

Donald had stolen three of his four bionic creations: Adam, Bree, and Chase. At that moment, Douglas knew that it was over, that he needed to hide his last bionic child, Daniel, and fake his death so no one would think to look for him.

Douglas looked at Daniel, who was in his blanket and sleeping. Daniel had been smiling and feeling giddy the whole day. All babies were truly a gift from the divine.

Douglas thought he would cry for a few seconds. He really didn't want to give Daniel up for adoption. But he knew it had to be done. If Daniel stayed with them, the baby would only be in danger. Giving him to a loving family that could provide for him would be the best option. Who was he kidding, it was the only option.

Douglas took a deep breath as he looked at Daniel.

"Good bye, Daniel", Douglas said. "Enjoy your life. I'll miss you. I'll always be thinking of you."

Douglas then left Daniel at the orphanage. Then, he threw his clothes, ID card, and wallet into a fiery volcano. Douglas made sure to save the money he had in his wallet. A guy had to make a decent living, somehow.

Douglas's plan was to lay low for a few years. He would resurface when he had the money and the resources to take back his other three bionic creations and exact his revenge on his brother for ruining his ultimate plans.

Meanwhile, Daniel would grow up, as any normal suburban kid would, and not attract any suspicion in the slightest. He was slightly popular in his elementary school, and had a decent social life. He wasn't worried.

Daniel had often wondered where he had come from, but he tried his best not to think about that. He was happy, and that was the important thing.
