Chapter 1: John's beginnings

John Preston was completing his math homework, feeling optimistic about the future. He was a senior at Prospect High School and was a top student. John was in several science clubs at Prospect High School and had a good degree of knowledge regarding computers and technology.

John was very close with his cousin, Mark Eisman. The two boys had been best friends for as long as John could remember. John and Mark vowed to stay in touch with each other regardless of where college or life took them.

John was very active in his church at Arlington Heights, and was a member of their youth group. He had gone to Bible studies, but he always felt something was missing. John wasn't sure what that was, but he felt that there was something suspicious with all of these churches and how they handled their operations. No one seemed to be willing to dare to question any of the protocol these churches used.

John had gotten his driving license last year and felt good about his skills behind the wheel. John had mastered parallel parking and had done it so many times, he memorized it like the back of his hand.

John and Mark had often hung out at school when they were able to. The two boys had worked on the Prospect High School newspaper and could write about a variety of topics. John did his best to contribute to the newspaper and tried to find topics that his readers would find interesting.

John never talked about his concerns about the Christian churches to anyone, not even to Mark. John knew he had to be careful before saying anything that could get him into trouble. If he did anything stupid, he would be filled with regret.

John hoped that one day he would find the answer to all of his questions. He knew that someday he would find a solution.
