The Groovy Brothers never thought they'd be a hit again. Especially Alistair. But since they were starting to become a success, they knew it was going to be awhile before someone would want them to either do a concert or record an album.

One morning, Alistair was at his apartment, when he had received a letter. He opened it and read it.

"Dear Mr. Alistair

I am a huge fan of The Groovy Brothers and would be honored if you or any of the members come meet me about the possibility of a potential record deal. The address is at the bottom of the letter. If you don't want to, I'll understand, but...it could be a chance for you and the band to be a hit and who could pass that up?

Signed,

MP "

Alistair didn't know who this 'MP' was but he didn't care, the band finally had a chance at recording an album. Alistair immediately picked up the phone to call the other band members.

"A record deal? Really?" Lanny asked.

"I know. I couldn't believe it either but someone actually wants us to start making albums."

"That's funny. I didn't get any letter about it. Are you sure this person's trustworthy?" Lanny asked, warily.

"No but we've still got a shot at this and we can't let this opportunity slip away. If it makes you feel better, I'll check it out first."

"Okay. But we also can't tell Dennis and Stix yet till we know for sure it's nothing shady." Lanny said, firmly.

"Right." Alistair said, nodding.

Alistair hung up and then he grabbed his jacket and went off to where the company was. All the way, he couldn't contain his excitement but he was also skeptical. What if Lanny was right and this was a hoax?

Alistair pulled up to the building from the address and turned to look at it. The school? This was starting to look suspicious already but Alistair needed to confirm it.

Alistair went inside the school and he did look hopeful when he saw one of the doors had the same initials 'MP' on them. Maybe it wasn't a trick. Alistair 'knocked' on the door.

"Come in." A female voice called out.

Alistair opened the door and entered a classroom that was empty except for a female rhubarb who had her back turned and was writing on the chalkboard. Alistair cleared his throat.

"Excuse me Miss. But I was told that somebody named MP is here and I was going to talk to them about a record deal." Alistair said, moving over to the chalkboard.

"Well...You came to the right place but my dad is the record company's boss. He wanted me to give out the details after my class was over with."

The rhubarb put down the eraser and turned around. Staring back at Alistair was the most beautiful vision he'd ever seen. The rhubarb had braided red hair and pink-colored lips. She was...so beautiful. The rhubarb smiled at Alistair and went over to him.

"I'm Miss Petunia at your service."

"Miss Petunia? You're Lanny's granddaughter's teacher, aren't you?" Alistair asked, smiling again.

"Yes and I think that makes you...Alistair, the keyboardist." Petunia guessed.

"You know the band very well." Alistair said, looking impressed.

"Well, I may have one or two records back at my apartment." Petunia said, winking.

"So...Um...Your father is really considering letting us record an album?"

Petunia looked down and then she picked up some study books and placed them in her work bag and then looked back up at Alistair who gazed at her hopefully and expectantly.

"There's a catch. The thing is my dad is sort of hard to convince. You and the band will have to prove it to him by recording a song." Petunia said, shrugging.

"Something tells me there's a deadline." Alistair said, smile faltering.

"He really wants to book a more hip band of our decade. I was kind of the one who suggested The Groovy Brothers to him. He told mat you had about 3 days to think up a song or else the other band gets the gig."

"It was your suggestion?" Alistair asked, somewhat surprised.

Petunia looked down, obviously feeling embarrassed until Alistair moved closer to her and smiled at her.

"Miss Petunia...Would you like to help us write the song?" Alistair offered.

Petunia looked up surprised. She had expected Alistair to scold her or panic. She didn't see this coming. But then she smiled.

"You...You want me to help you and the band write a song?"

"Of course. I can see that you're the real fan and are an expert. Perhaps we can write a love song. We'd never done that before."

Petunia and Alistair looked at each for a moment and then Alistair realized what he said and his cheeks reddened but Petunia continued smiling and she inched closer.

"Did you mean the band...or us?"

"Um...Well...I...I meant us. But...I mean...Strictly business...Not that...I don't want it...to...was...hoping...we...could...discuss...ideas for song...over...dinner?" Alistair stuttered out.

Petunia giggled and then she pecked Alistair on the cheek who looked at her shocked.

"I'd love to."

"You would?"

Petunia nodded then she pulled out Alistair's tie and moved him closer to her face while she smiled lovingly at him but with a sultry look in her eyes.

"Why don't we sort out some ideas now...in the closet? School doesn't start yet. And...you can sneak out the window."

Alistair knew what Petunia was implying and he smirked and then he set his lips against hers in a loving but yet slightly passionate kiss. They continued kissing causing Petunia to bump into the desk and then lay down against it while their lips stayed together then Alistair pulled away and looked at Petunia confusingly.

"Wait...I thought you were more of a fan of Lanny."

"Was. Moved on to you a week ago."

"Good."

They kept kissing and then they stopped and then Petunia pulled Alistair into the closet and the door closed.

At Lanny's apartment, he and Dennis and Stix wanted to spy on the meeting between Alistair and the owner of the supposed record company. They looked at Lanny's phone, eyes wide at the sight of Alistair and Miss Petunia...kissing. Amongst other things.

"That's one way to get a contract signed." Stix finally said.

Later that night, Alistair finally arrived back at his apartment. His tie was loosened, and his jacket was off but he felt so entranced. He just met the girl of his dreams. After they...well...they did have dinner and talked and then...some more...and it also built up to song writing and another date happening Saturday and...Alistair wasn't gonna forget this day for awhile. Alistair turned on the light and saw the other band members sitting down and smiling at him knowingly.

"What?" Alistair asked, staring over at his friends.

"So...Did you convince the record company?" Lanny asked, suppressing from bursting out laughing.

"Not yet...But I did win his daughter over...Thank you and goodnight."

"I'm guessing you two are going out again?" Dennis guessed, winking.

"Maybe. Maybe not. I don't kiss and tell, fellows."

"Oh, we know that, buddy." Stix said, chuckling.

Alistair gave them a strange look but then headed up the stairs. His phone went off and he answered it. He saw Petunia on screen.

"Hey...Great news. I managed to persuade Dad to lengthen the deadline."

"Darling, you're brilliant."

"I did have motivation."

Alistair smirked and Petunia smirked back and then she sent a wink and kiss emoji and gazed at him lovingly.

"Love you. Can't wait for our date on Saturday."

"I love you too." Alistair said, softly, also sending a wink and kiss emoji

Alistair ended the call and then he saw the three staring at him still with knowing glances, Alistair rolled his eyes and then glared at them.

"Goodnight, fellows."

With that, Alistair went up to the loft and collapsed on his bed. He couldn't wait till Saturday to go over another 'record deal' with his new girlfriend.
