I can't talk right now
Stiles laughed bitterly at the words. He had helped Scott through all of the insane stuff that had happened since Scott had been turned.
And the one time Stiles needed him. The ONE time! Scott was busy doing what? Mooning over his secret girlfriend, who he had met less than six months ago!
But hey, let's all throw a lifetime of friendship down the drain on the off chance of getting to have sex.
The sound of a muffled scream seemed to snap Stiles out of it. He threw his phone away (something he would probably regret later) and dived deeper into the pool looking for Derek.
"Please tell me you got him." Was the first thing out of Derek's mouth, once they had reached the surface.
"You know you could say 'thank you for saving my life Stiles. I really appreciate you not letting me drown by holding me up for the past two hours or saving me from turning into a lizard monsters chew toy!'"
Derek simply growled at him, because that seemed to be the sourwolfe's default Answer to everything.
"Did. you. get. him." Derek growled
"Yes! But he's not coming! He's at the fucking Argents." Stiles snapped his patients finally snapping
Derek fell silent, much to Stiles's pleasure. He wondered why he didn't just leave Derek at the edge of the pool and make a run for it but for some bizarre reason the idea repulsed him more than he would like to admit.
They both stayed silent for a couple of minutes, until Stiles felt his arms slowly giving out against Derek's weight.
"I can't hold you much longer." Stiles exclaimed though gritted teeth "Do you still see it? Maybe it's gone?"
"I can't see it but it's still there. I can feel it." Derek muttered
"Adding 'can feel when lizard monsters are in the same room' to the list of werewolf capabilities." Stiles said, getting increasingly more annoyed. Which he hadn't thought was possible.
"Shut up or I will rip your throat out... with my teeth." Derek snapped
"Jokes on you Sourwolf, you kill me and you drown. You're a lot less scary when your just shouting empty threats about."
Derek simply growled and flashed his eyes.
Again.
A whole 30 minutes later, Stiles was sure he was going to sink any minute. The Water seemed to be trying to drag him to the bottom and his eyes where starting to feel heavy.
Suddenly, Derek's arm twiched and then his other.
"I'm starting to regain feeling in my arms and legs, I should be fine in a couple of minutes."
"Good cause a couple of minutes is all I've got left. Incase you've forgotten, which you obviously have, I'm a freaking human. No supernatural werewolfy powers for me!"
True to what Derek had said, a few minutes later Derek could fully move around. The moment Stiles let go of Derek, it felt like a giant weight had been lifted. Which of course was exactly what happened.
A giant weight of sexy abs that no one should be allowed to have Stiles's mind supplied.
Stiles shook his head trying desperately to get rid of all thoughts about Derek.
"Stay." Derek grumbled making his way to the edge of the pool.
"Like that'd ever happen." Stiles snorted under his breath and followed Derek to the edge.
"Did I not tell you to stay?" Derek snarled
"Have you not figured out by now that I don't take orders from anyone. Especially you." Stiles snarked back
Once both had made it out of the pool they carefully looked around. There was no sign of the lizard thing anywhere.
"So much for super werewolfy powers. It's not here!" Stiles exclaimed turning around to look at Derek, only to realise that the older boy had already disappeared.
"You have got to be kidding me!" Stiles screamed in frustration marching Out of the pool doors and towards his car.
He made it back home fairly quickly, his mind still realing from the days events. His father was working late so he hadn't realised that Stiles hadn't come home after the game.
Stiles slowly made his way upstairs and opened the door to his room. Only to find Derek sitting on his chair reading a book.
"What the hell are you doing?" Stiles shouted, causing the Alpha wolf to look up.
"Waiting for you." He said casually, not looking up from his book. A book that Stiles now noted was the dictionary.
"In my room. Should I be worried?" Stiles said snarkily
"I wanted to say Thank you for today." Derek said slowly, obviously not used to saying thank you.
"Did you just say "thank you"?" Stiles said in shock
"Yes. Don't get used to it." Derek snapped closing the book and walking towards Stiles.
His stomach flipped and filled with butterflies, the amount of dreams he had about situations similar to this (ignoring the nearly dying in the school pool part) was surreal. Granted, most of them ended up with Stiles waking up and having to take a very cold shower.
Stiles noticed that they where now standing so close that he, if he just leaned in a slight bit more their lips would be touching.
Apparently, he didn't have to though, as Derek did that for him and pulled him into a surprisingly soft kiss.
As cliché as it was, Stiles felt fireworks go off in the back of his head, as their lips crashed into each other for the second time. This time with more force.
As soon as they broke apart, Stiles opened his eyes to find the room empty. The only sign that Derek had been in his room at all was the closed book on the chair, that was till spinning around form the sudden movement and the faint tingling sensation on Stiles's lips.
Stiles heard the door open downstairs signaling that his father had arrived home but he couldn't bring himself to care. Even Scott's betrayal had been erased from his mind and replaced with the memory of what had just happened.
Stiles collapsed on his bed, not caring about the wetness of his clothes soaking into his blanket. Tomorrow he might talk to Derek about what happened or maybe confront Scott about everything else but for now Stiles felt content.
