Chris Argent was sitting in Derek's loft with the entire McCall pack discussing a new threat when it happened.

He hadn't thought much of it at first. The call hadn't had caller ID but he still hadn't thought much about it. He walked out of the loft and picked up.

"Hello?"

"Is this Mr. Argent?"

"Yes, who is this?" He asked

"This is the Paris Hospital, we are calling about your ward Isaac Lahey . He was attacked earlier this evening, he is currently in the ER and will be taken to surgery in a few hours, after he has been stabled."

Chris's heart leaped into her throat, as panik surged through him.

"Wh-What's wrong with him?" He demanded

"He seemed to have been poisoned with something that has not yet been identified, he has multiple stab wounds across his stomach and his right arm and left leg where broken. We also believe someone tried to electrocute him." The operator told him after a moment.

"I'll be their as soon as possible." Chris said hanging up his phone.

For a moment he felt as though he might throw up, he hadn't felt fear like this since he saw Allison in Scott's arms that night.

The door of the loft behind him opened, Chris turned to see the entire pack watching him.

"We heard your heartbeat go crazy." Scott explained

"I need to go back to France. Something happened to Isaac... I need to go." He said leaving the building without looking back.

Half an hour later he was sitting on a plane on his way back to France. His mind was racing.

Chris knew he had the ability to push aside his emotions and focus on the tasks at hand but he couldn't bring himself to focus. If something went wrong he would loose his wife, sister (though she did end up coming back), father, Allison and Isaac in a matter of a few short months.

A couple of hours later and Chris was barging into the hospital nearly scarring the poor receptionist to death.

"What room is Isaac Lahey in?" He snarled at the poor woman

"One moment please... He is currently in surgery. We will tell you if anything happens." She said in a calm soothing voice, that made Chris want to test his knew gun on her.

Three hours and twenty two minutes of constant pacing later a doctor finally walked towards him, a stonic expression on his face.

"Mr. Argent, good news. Mr. Lahey is stable, he is in room 256. We have established that he was indeed poisoned with both Wolfsbane and a plant called Lutharia Vulpina..." The doctor continued talking but that was all he had needed to hear. It had been a planed attack.

Reaching the door of room 256 Chris' hand was shaking slightly, as he twisted the doorknob and opened the door.

Chris chocked back a sob at the sight infront of him.

Isaac looked like a small child lying on the white hospital bed. His curly blond was messily spread across his face. He had a peaceful look on his face, one that Chris hadn't seen often.

It was really only in that Moment that Chris realised it. He didn't have one child anymore, he had two and he would do anything and everything in his power to make sure nothing happened to his son.

He didn't know when it happened, maybe it was during their time in France together or maybe it had happened before. Fact remained, that Chris saw Isaac as his child.

"It would be a shame if something even worse where to happen to such a pretty face. Don't you think Argent?" A voice said from the doorway.

Chris instantly recognised the voice, it was the voice of his sister in law.

"What do you want Vanessa." He asked

"I want you to get rid of the wolf." She sneared

"No." Chris stated

"Then I will kill him."

"You can't kill him if he's an Argent" Chris stated "Hunters Code. You can't kill another hunter, no matter what species it is the families problem to deal with."

"He is not your son" Vanessa snarled at him

"He is. I will get you the necessary proof by the end of the week." Chris said determined his eyes going back to Isaac.

The Adoption process was a lot easier than expected. With his connections and the fact that he was already Isaac's legal guardian he had the papers in four days.

Isaac hadn't woken up yet but the doctors where optimistic. Of course they didn't know anything about Isaac's werewolf DNA but if human Isaac would make it, Chris was sure werewolf Isaac would too.

Chris opened the door to Isaac's room and felt his heart lift at the sight of Isaac sitting upright in the bed.

"D-Chris?" Isaac asked hesitantly

"You're awake." Chris stated sitting down next to her.

"Yeah. What happened?" Isaac questioned, looking around the plain white hospital room.

"My sister in law attacked you-" Chris started to explain but got cut off by Isaac.

"I'm sorry you had to come back for this, just because I couldn't protect myself."

Chris wanted to cry at the look on Isaac's face, he looked generally guilty for getting hurt but Chris had never been very good at emotions so he just said

"Don't apologize. As I was saying, she attacked you but you don't have to worry about her, I have a way she can't bother you anymore."

"What?"

"I can adopt you."

Isaac's eyes widened comically and then looked away tears forming in his eyes.

"Are you sure? You shouldn't just adopt me because of her."

"Yes. I wanto to adopt you... You are my son but it's your choice. Here, if this is what you want as well all you have to do is sign."

Chris pulled out the papers and handed them to Isaac who instantly signed them.

"So... does this mean I can call you dad?" Isaac asked innocently

"If you want to." Chris said, secretly wanting nothing more.

"Thanks... Dad" Isaac said closing his eyes to go back to sleep.

Chris smiled at his son. He may have lost everything but he had gained something too. Isaac could never replace Allison but that was ok because Isaac and Allison where completely different people who he loved it fully and completely.
