Ash locked the door of the apartment behind him gently and eyed his two roommates snuggling together as they watch an old action movie. They smiled and waved hello to him despite they saw him just earlier today, normally Ash won't have noticed this but the brief conversation he had with Serena had definitely changed him views and perspectives of how the girls interacted with him. So he aired on the side of caution and waved back, giving a tired sigh in the process over the long and arduous day. It was emotionally draining talking to Bea and Serena, with the latter occupying his mind at the moment.

"Hey Ash, how's the dinner with Serena?" It was funny and heartwarming to Ash that the girls seemed to know everything about each other, it almost as if they all have a schedule of when they can hangout with him. Bea's gym sessions are always separated from Korrina's skating sessions, so it made it seemed like the two had a prior agreement on when they can spend time with him.

'I'm just overthinking here, don't treat every little kindness and interaction they showed to you as something important or romantic Ash.' He had to remember the girls he hangout with were super nice people, of course it still didn't change the fact they openly flirt with him. Whether they want to pursue a romantic relationship with him is a completely different matter from the realms of casual teasing among close friends.

"The dinner was great." He definitely can't let them know, otherwise he would jeopardise the close friendship they all shared. At the moment, all Ash Ketchum wanted is a nice cold relaxing shower and lie down on his bed, and possibly fry his already limited brain cells over the complicated situation he had to think through.

Almost as if they see through his lies, Dawn placed her couch pillow away from her and stared at him with her concerned sapphire blue eyes that was nothing short of beautiful and warm. Misty followed suit and stared at him with her arms crossed, she seemed to sense his tired and strained tone in his voice. The two girls has always been observant and perceptive, despite what others may think, and when it comes to the boy from Pallet Town, they could read him like a book.

"You okay? You sound tired?" He gave a small nod as he headed towards his bedroom, not willing to have a conversation with them. He needed to clear his head to go over what could possibly be the biggest decision in his life. As he was about to open his room door, Dawn and Misty stood next to them and extended their hand to his shoulder in a comforting manner. The soft and warm smiles on their faces were a marvelous sight to behold, and the fact he was the only person that could bring that expression out of them during late nights like these certainly cements their close bond they have with him.

"Ash are you alright? Is something worrying you? You can tell us, maybe we can help." Ironically, it was Dawn who was asking him to share his troubles and worries to them. Ash groaned inwardly, he didn't want them to know what he was going through, but they looked like they weren't willing to let him go until he spill the beans.

"I'm just tired from the exam." He knew the look on their faces that they didn't believe his word, not one bit even. But they forced a smile and accepted his decision without much resistance. The two squeezed his shoulders before they headed back to the couch, but anyone could tell they weren't in the mood for watching movies.

Decided not to prolong his shower any much longer, the Kanto native entered his room and turn on the AC. He headed straight into the showers with a towel in his hand. After 10 minutes of monotonous showering, Ash emerged in his boxers and white shirt as he dried his hair, not really thinking anything of importance at the moment. With his messy and unruly hair dried, Ash placed the towel back to the hanger and now was met with the grueling silence of his room.

"I can't do this, choosing one of them is so hard." He ignored his mother's nagging about laying on your bed while your hair was still wet and leaned onto the pillows. He was certain that he hair was dried and he needed the empty ceiling above him to help him think. It seemed strange to him that he never took anything so seriously before, even when conjuring up potential battle strategies, Ash was never that fixated or bothered by it. Yet now when it comes to the girls he care deeply for, Ash had a hard time to even think on where to start.

'I can't just compare their traits and list down their what I like about them or what I don't like about them.' He honestly couldn't think of a single bad thing about the girls, they have their flaws sure, but they weren't major flaws that would make them less likable. It was just nick picks that he could honestly live with and handle about.

'Live with? Why on earth are you thinking about that?' He sat upright and sighed, he was thinking way too deeply about this. It was just a matter of what kind of relationship he wants to pursue with the girls, whether it is platonic or romantic, that's all. But right now, the thought of choosing one of them as a potential romantic partner was difficult because he liked all 5 of them. He would be more than happy to be with any one of them and that's the main freaking problem, he can't decided who he liked more.

Sure, maybe he liked Dawn more than the other girls, he will admit that much, but that's because they hangout with each other so often. Ash was willing to bet if he spend enough time with the other girls, he would like them more too. The main problem is, they all liked him because he is the only male classmate they spend their time with!

'Maybe I should have persuade them to hangout with other boys.' Ash shook his head, that can't work and in fact, that didn't work. The girls had stated they prefer to spend time with him because he accepts them for who they are, not to mention he pretty much involved himself in the important aspects of their life. Korrina's hobby of skating, Bea's sparring session, being Dawn and Misty's roommates and being Serena's childhood friend and crush. He had simply just became a focal point in their lives, and better yet, he was the bridge that ties their friendship altogether.

'If I didn't become Misty and Dawn's roommate, I won't have introduce them to Serena, Bea and Korrina.' The chain of events that led up to what Ash have today was something he definitely didn't expect. What he expected from starting High School was that his life would be spent with Barry and Tracey, and survive high school by keeping his head low. Now his male friends have pretty much left him and he befriended 5 incredible girls who develop a crush on him.

The raven haired teen sighed and turned in his bed, eyeing the digital alarm clock next to him that read 9:31 PM. His eyes then glanced on his phone, realizing that there was actually someone he could seek sound advice from. Someone who had the wisdom and knowledge that could solve his problem, someone who won't judge him and would want what's best for him. Sucking up his pride, Ash sat upright and tapped his phone and finally dialed the number

"Hi mom, yeah it's me. Are you busy? No? Good, can we uh talk over the computer? It's kinda important." Ash went over his PC and brought up the video conference app, with his mother's name on it. He clicked on her contact and soon enough, she appeared in front of his screen, bearing the bright bubbly smile that eats away his anxiety and nervousness. Arceus, now he wish he was home with her.

"Hi Ash, what's the matter?" Ash clicked his tongue and leaned behind his gaming chair, how the hell can he phrase this? He cleared his throat and ensure his room door was locked before staring at his mother through the computer screen. He collected his thoughts briefly before giving a small sigh that showed how stress he was over this.

"Ash are you okay? You sound really stressed." Mother's know best huh? He decided not to lie to her and be direct and forefront with the problem.

"I am actually, I'm sorry that I interrupted your night." His mother waved him off, it seemed that she didn't mind this one bit. Perhaps she was really happy to see his face after weeks of not seeing him, and to be frank, he was happy to see his mother's familiar face too.

"Nonsense, I was just reading a novel. What do you need sweetie? Maybe I can help you." That was exactly the words he wanted to hear, he sat upright and interlocked his fingers together, placing his elbow on top of his desk in the process.

"I'm stuck in a dilemma." His mother nodded but the look of concern on her face was evident. He didn't want to bother her with his own worries, he has always solve his own problem through his own abilities. But when it comes to dating, he was clueless as all hell.

"I- you know the school only allow students to have one pokemon right? To choose them as their starter?" Ash spoke awkwardly, cringing internally at the fact he represented the girls as pokemon starters. He didn't want to be completely honest with her given that he was giving the impression to his mother that he was playboy or womanizer.

"Yes." She nodded in a almost confused manner, what would she know about pokemon?

"Well now the school has allowed students to choose a second pokemon to fit into their roster. The problem is, I can't choose which pokemon I want." His mother furrowed her eyebrows, perhaps wondering why her son is asking for opinion on choosing a pokemon. Nevertheless, she would help him despite her limited pokemon knowledge.

"I see, how many pokemon are talking about here?" The Kanto native rubbed his arm, secretly wondering if his mother would catch on to his lie. Her facial expression was unreadable which was concerning because being her son, Ash could always read his mother's mood. The fact he can't right now alarmed he greatly.

"Uh 5." His mother seemed surprised as she rubbed her temples lightly.

"That's quite a lot to pick from, and you have a hard time choosing them correct?" Her son gave a small nod, gone was his nervous and sheepish manner, it was now replaced with a sentimental and emotional expression that conveyed his feelings at the moment.

"Yeah they all are special and unique in their own way. I'm very fond of them, they are wonderful friends but sometimes I wish we can be more- I mean like trainer and pokemon, you know? Instead of just friends." Arceus this sounded terrible, Ash wanted to die right now considering he was stuttering like an idiot. He was certain his mother knew what he was talking about given the unreadable expression on her face that demanded him to tell her the truth.

"How does Pikachu feel about it? Who does Pikachu like the most?" Huh? Perhaps he's mother didn't catch on to what he was actually implying. Ash didn't know whether to be happy or sad at his mother's obliviousness since he actually wanted dating advice instead of choosing a starter.

"I honestly don't know, he likes all 5 of them and he would be happy to have any of them to be part of his life." He never actually asked Pikachu out of 5 of the girls, which one he liked the most. But judging how happy he was whenever they pat him or poke his red cheeks, he assumed that he liked all 5 of them and to be fair, he won't blame him.

"Ash I'm no pokemon trainer, but when it comes to pokemon, it is often the pokemon who chooses the trainer instead of the other way around right? My question to you is, do they want you to be their trainer?" Ash blinked, not expecting his mother to ask such question to him. She brought on a good point, he automatically assumed they want to be more with him despite never asking how they actually feel about him. For all he know, they might just want to stay as friends.

"I- I don't know, I never asked them. I'm too afraid, we have such a nice thing going on between us and I don't want to ruin it. I rather stay as friends with everyone of them than to make a choice that could change everything." Was he being too obvious his words? Probably, at this point Ash didn't care if his mother knew or not. He just wanted sound advice from her.

"Are you afraid that choosing one of them would cause the rest to be unhappy?" Seeing the rigorous nod from her son made Delia frowned. Seeing his mother's silence, Ash decided to continue give his mother more information so that he could help her better understand the situation.

"All of them are close friends, they make each other happy and they support each other. I feel like an outsider sometimes, and if I take one of them away from all of them, the whole group would crumble. You know, pokemon habitats and ecosystem." He was still sticking to the starter story, just to keep the conversation going. His mother placed her hand underneath her chin for a few seconds before she spoke calmly.

"I have a solution to your problem." Ash almost stood up upon hearing that, finally some useful advice!

"Really? How? I mean where do I start? It's so difficult for me to choose one when all of them are so wonderful. They have different personalities, likes, dislikes and-" He almost shouted before he quickly recompose himself and started to ramble off, causing his mother to chuckle at her son's adorable stuttering. She giggled to herself before she interrupted him with a warm yet serious tone laced behind her voice.

"If I was you Ash, I would choose all 5 and let them become my pokemon." To say he was shocked was an understatement, he shook his head furiously before he raised his voice. Having all 5 of them as their girlfriend is unfathomable, ludicrous and stupid!

"What!? No! Socie- I mean the school won't accept this! They would throw me out or expel me if I even asked for that!" Delia raised her eyebrows over son's overreaction, it cemented her suspicion that he wasn't talking about choosing a starter, instead it was something else.

"Calm down Ash, what is there to be agitated about? If all 5 of them deemed you worthy to be their trainer, then I don't see a problem why they can't share you as their trainer. After all, isn't it normal for a trainer to have multiple pokemon under their belt?" Ash attempted to retort before he realized that it was true that trainers can have 6 pokemon at once, but he wasn't talking about pokemon, he was talking about something far different.

"Yeah but I'm just a first year student, I can't get greedy with my choices and I only can choose one." It was a lame excuse and justification, but it was the only thing Ash can come up with.

"If that's the case then I'm afraid I can't help you Ash. You're the one who bonded and befriended them, not me. I'm sure you know more about them than they know about themselves judging how important they are to you. I guess you just have to ask yourself who makes you the happiest." He stared at his mother and sighed, he understood the subtle meaning behind her words. It looks like she saw through his lies and facade, no point in trying to hide it from her now.

"We are still talking about choosing my second pokemon right?" Delia gave a warm smile to her dejected son who seemed lost and confused.

"Are you?" Seeing that he was avoiding eye contact with her in a shameful manner, Delia doubled down her motherly voice and spoke warmly to encourage him to talk to her in an honest and genuine manner.

"Ash, be honest with me. I won't judge you sweetie, you are talking about the girls right? The one you always hangout with." The young teen nodded, his mother was never for one to beat around the bush. Always forefront and direct, her perceptive and sharp nature was something he never should have underestimate.

"That obvious huh." Ash chuckled lightly in an attempt to lighten up the mood of the conversation. His mother sighed and shook her head in a disappointing manner, crossing her arms in the process.

"Honestly, I know you are a bad liar but to conjure up a story like this?" Ash lowered his gaze, looking at his hands that rested on his lap. Past images of his father flashed in his mind before he gritted his teeth in a bitter manner.

"I was scared that you will hate me-" Delia was shocked that he would even say that. If she could reach her son across the screen and hug him, she would have done it in a heartbeat. Instead, all she can do is to reassure him with a warm voice that seemed cold and distant in a video conference app.

"Ash, I would never hate you alright? Look, I don't know how this came to be but perhaps you can walk me through it? Since when did my nerdy son become such a ladies man?" She ended it off in a cheeky tone, and admittedly it did made him smile. He was glad his mother didn't hate him and was giving him a chance to explain the situation to her before she pass judgement.

"I don't know when to start, I guess I hangout with them so much that it felt natural to talk to them and be with them. I feel happy that I can talk to them and have something in common with every single one of them. They make my life better, they gave me more confidence and help me grow both physically and socially. They always say that their lives changed after meeting me while in reality, it was me who benefited greatly by hangout with them. I owe them a lot mom, and to make a choice such as choosing one of them is too cruel." His mother listened to his words in calm silence, getting a full grasp of how her son managed to develop feelings for his friends. In hindsight, she wasn't surprise that her son will find love in high school, but with 5 girls? That was shocking.

"I know they are important to you but to think they play such an important role in your life, it really makes me happy that you have friends who loves you for who you are." Ash gave a small nod, agreeing with this mother's words wholeheartedly. However. it is because all of them play an integral role in his life that he can't choose.

"But mom they want to be more than friends, I can't possibly choose one when I am attracted to all 5 of them." The older woman crossed her arms at her son's pleading words, he sounded desperate and confused. He never dated so he never had to sort out his feelings like this before, throw in 5 girls that are his best friends and Ash's brain would just shut down.

"Then I think it's time for you to confront them, talk to them directly. Enough dodging your feelings and pretending that staying as friends won't hurt anyone. I'm sure the girls would understand your position." His mother spoke sternly but it seemed to be the best advice she has given him so far. However, as much he wanted to heed his mother's advice, he knew it will be incredibly difficult.

"That easier said than done." Ash glanced at the picture the girls and him took together, it was during one of their outings in Jubilife city where they visited the large tower that gave them a good view of the city.

"Do the girls know that each of them like you?"

"You mean if they are aware of the other girls' feelings towards me?" Ash sighed and nodded meekly, it was a no brainer that Serena is well aware of the feelings of others. Misty and Dawn seemed to understand they both liked him and showed no signs of bitterness or jealousy whenever they hung out with him. As for Korrina and Bea, well he was certain the two also knew others liked him, at least to his limited knowledge.

"Oh dear, a love triangle- not even a triangle, a hexagon. Are they okay with it? Do they argue with each other?" Ash paused and pondered do they fight over him, like an actually Meowth fight. They never seemed to be mad at each other, he can't recall a single moment where the girls were even mad at each other. They get along swimmingly and if there is any form of fighting between them, they must have hid it incredibly well.

"No, they are still close friends. Maybe they do argue behind my back but right now they seemed to be the best of friends." Delia scratched her chin, this situation is getting more bizarre and interesting by the second. How her son got entangled in this complicated and dare she say raunchy situation was way beyond her.

"Perhaps the girls came to accept it." He lowered his head, eyeing the picture of Serena and him together as kids on his desk.

"That's a horrible feeling right? To know your best friends also like the boy you like." Delia nodded solemnly, not wanting to think back to her own relationship with her ex-husband. She sighed inwardly and shook her head.

'Stay strong Delia, this is about Ash.' Seeing her son's downtrodden mood, she decided to cheer him up by offering a sense of hope to him.

"It is, but maybe they are willing to compromise?" Ash processed his mothers words and spoke in a weak tone.

"You mean they are willing give up on the boy they liked just to preserve their friendship with each other?" This is absolutely awful, why is everything his mother is saying sounds so depressing? All he wanted was all of them to stay together and live their lives to their fullest. All of them were working hard to chase after their dreams and aspiration, they don't have time to mull over complicated web of emotions.

"Ash I know you in a tight spot right now, but you have to understand that you can't make everyone happy. Dragging and dancing around your feelings for each other won't do anyone good. If you lose friends along the way, then that's the sacrifice you have to make." He knew that, he knew that from the start. He just didn't want to admit it to himself and rather have others break the obvious truth to him. It was painful just to think the girls are getting hurt because of his decision and words.

"I know, I just don't want to accept it." Delia groaned inwardly, she dearly wish she could drive over there just to give her son a nice motherly embrace. He looked so lost and confused that it really hurt her seeing him like this. He was quite independent despite what others may think, always solving his own problems without involving others. Now, he needs every help he can get.

"Ash, are you awake?" Dawn's voice came through his door, which caused Ash to hit his shins against his desk. He gave out a painful groan, with only the giggle of mockery coming from his mothers mouth that further annoyed him. She seemed to be delighted at his misfortune and blunder like any good mother would.

"Yeah give me a sec!" He shouted as he rubbed his injured shins.

"It seemed that Dawn is looking for you." With the pain subsiding, Ash sighed and nodded. He wasn't surprised when Dawn knocks on his door at this time of night. Sometimes she would barge into his room without any reason and just lie down on his bed. Other times she would bring in a novel or two and just snuggle next to him on his bed. It was exciting at times when Dawn wore her loose clothing around him, but he had never voiced out his objection of her late night visits given that he secretly looked forward to them too.

Which made this situation all the more complicated.

"It seems so." Knowing that he had to go off, Delia decided to give one last word of advice.

"Ash please talk to them, for their sake." The Kanto native smiled inwardly, his mother knew he would do what he can for the girls' sake. She was right however, this was not necessary about him. Its about their feelings that can greatly affected their studies and happiness.

"I will try mom, thank you. I love you." Delia expected such words from her son, but that didn't mean it didn't make her happy.

"Love you too sweetie, no matter the outcome, I will always be proud of you." Ash nodded vigorously, unable to convey how much he loves and appreciates his mother's efforts to help him. With the screen fading into pure darkness, Ash walked towards his door and took in a deep breath to calm his shaking nerves. He opened the door calmly and was immediately greeted by the sight of Misty and Dawn wearing their loose clothing around him. Shorts and a tight tank top, Ash was sure they were wearing this deliberately in front of him.

"Hey Dawn, Misty. What's up?" The redhead and the blunette entered his room, plopping down on his bed as if that it was their own. Thank goodness he changed the bed sheets a few days ago, otherwise some of his uh essence might still linger on the sheets.

"We thought we check in on you, you're not sick are you?" The voice of concern was well appreciated, but unfortunately Ash's mind was only thinking about the conversation he had with his mom. He stared at Misty's dazzling emerald eyes and quickly averted eye contact when he realized he was staring at her for too long.

"Nah I'm fine." Dawn and Misty stared at each other, frowning slightly when they realized Ash wasn't being honest with them. He was hiding something from them and he wasn't willing to tell them despite their concern and efforts.

"Alright then, we will head to bed then, if you need anything let us know alright?" The alteration in their voice was subtle but Ash could easily tell they were disappointed in him and was hoping that he can tell them the truth. He sighed when they almost were at his room door before he muttered a curse word and grabbed both of their hands to stop them from leaving him.

"Wait!" He softened his grip on the girls and slowly pulled them towards him, which they followed reluctantly. Seeing the conflicting emotions within his eyes, Misty and Dawn sat beside him and squeeze their clasped hands together. They wordlessly stared at him, giving their struggling roommate time to speak his mind.

"I want to talk to you two, it's something important." He couldn't stare in them in the eyes, he merely just looked down on their clasped hands on his lap, feeling the supple warmth they provided him with just the mere touch of their soft hands. Hearing the silence in the room, Ash decided to continue he speech.

"I- I want talk about us, our relationship as a whole." He finally held his head high and gazed at his roommates who seemed flustered and scared. They withdraw their hands from him, in an almost defensive manner. It appears that they weren't ready to discuss about it and to be completely honest, neither was he.

"What about it?" The quivering voice in Misty's tone was heartbreaking to hear, she has always been a confident and spunky individual, to hear her being so bashful and nervous was an anomaly.

"Its uncomfortable." Dawn clasped his hand tightly as soon as those words left his mouth, horrified that was what he felt around them. She hastily hugged his arm in a tender manner, her tears threatening to fall from her eyes as she frantically spoke.

"Do you want us to stop? We can stop if-" Her rampant stuttering stopped when Ash held her close to her, placing his lips onto her forehead in a soothing manner. He gingerly pulled Misty to him, placing his arms arounds her shoulders as she tried her best to calm her nerves and roller coaster of feelings down. Misty was never honest with how she felt about him but he knew full well she care for him deeply, even if she doesn't display explicitly.

"No, I don't want it to stop, and that's the problem. Both of you are really important to me, more so than I care to admit. It's just- you two are not the only ones who I like." Dawn and Misty stared at him before realizing why Ash seemed so conflicted and sad. The redhead raised Ash's chins with her fingers and smiled at him in an almost motherly manner, she wasn't surprised or mad that Ash likes the others, not one bit.

"You're talking about the others right? Bea, Serena and Korrina?" Ash nodded in a shameful manner, prepared for the two to leave the room or call him a player. But to his surprise, the two smiled at him and Dawn even rubbed his chest in a soothing manner. However with the way her fingers danced around his chest, it was turning him on more so than comforting him. Which to be fair, is comforting to him in some strange way.

"You're not mad?" The simultaneous shaking of the heads was amusing, he would have make a cheeky comment about how the two are like twins if it weren't for the fact the mood doesn't call for it.

"Not really, we kind of knew how they felt for you during our outings together. The way they interacted with you and asked for your attention is kinda obvious." He expected that much, all of them spent so much time together that it wasn't hard to pick up the little cues and body movement.

"I can't choose, I really can't." Misty rubbed his back gently, she could understand his situation given that he spend his time with the others in private. Naturally, complicated feelings would grow if you are alone with a person long enough, especially when they are attractive both physically and personality wise.

"Ash we can stay as friends, we don't mind. If you like any of the other girls, go for it. Dawn and I will maintain our distance, we promise!" Despite Misty's strong and peppy tone, Ash could easily see through the deceit through her facade. Maintaining distance? He remembered the promise he gave to both of them when they were watching the fireworks in Eterna city that he will keep them as close to him as possible, he can't go back on his own words now can't he?

"How is this fair for you, both of you like me too right?" Misty avoided his gaze and crossed her arms, though the cute blush on her face betrayed her tough exterior.

"A little I guess, enough to make me wear my swimsuit around you and feel comfortable." How can he forget when the numerous times Misty would just wear her swimsuit around the house after coming back home from her club. The skin tight attire and the luscious thighs and curves that were revealing to the eyes, Ash was certain that Misty wore that on purpose when she was around him just to tease him.

And he would be right.

The trainer with the Pikachu turned to Dawn and saw the cheeky yet bashful smile on her face. She leaned onto his shoulder and whispered in his ear with a low and seductive tone that sent a shiver down Ash's spine.

"You already know my answer." Of all the girls, Dawn was the one he spends the most of his time with. She was easy to talk to, really fun to hang around with and was just a nice person in general. At first, he attributed his overprotective nature over her in a brotherly manner, now however, tugging her hand when walking home after dinner or giving her a hug before going to bed seemed to be far from platonic.

"You don't have to make a choice that quickly Ash, no matter who you choose, we all can stay as friends. This doesn't have to change anything." It was just empty and hollow words to make him feel better, but Ash knew better that the dynamic of their relationship would change drastically if he starts to date anyone.

"Misty, you know that it will." The redhead lowered her gaze and stared at her lap, forcing a fake smile that Ash despise so much.

"We can pretend that it won't." Frustrated at how she was willing to hurt herself for his sake, Ash let go of his two roommates and ran his hand through his hair.

"For how long? Answer me honestly, how do you two feel around me?" Misty shrugged and placed her two hands on Ash's bed, looking around the room as she secretly pondered Ash's question.

"Horrible- ouch." Misty rubbed her arm as a deadpanned Dawn glared at her, she crossed her arms and nudged her best friend to be honest and forefront with her feelings towards Ash. The girl from Cerulean finally gave in and snuggled next to Ash reluctantly, still avoiding eye contact with him as she looked the other way.

"Fine. I feel free around you, the fact I can steal your chips freely, the fact I can wear whatever I want around you. It feels natural talking to you, cuddling with you at night feels just right. No one has that effect one before and when you compliment about my appearance, its make me feel giddy and happy inside. I know that you probably think I'm not that pretty and could be rude sometimes, but when I'm with you I- gosh Ash do you really want me to say it? I like you alright? The way you would encourage me after I lose a battle, or when make a cup of coffee for me every morning. All these little things you done for me, I like it all." The raw emotions that were often masked behind Misty's tough exterior was something Ash always knew, but to hear her say it so openly was a first for him. He assumed that he was more of a plaything for her, a boy she casually flirts with no deeper meaning behind it. Now she looked so vulnerable and soft, enough to make him sweep her off her feet.

"Misty, you are plenty of beautiful. Besides, I have a thing for cute tomboys like you." He stroke the face of her cheek, surprise that she didn't object and instead leaned into his hands. Dawn grinned at her best friend's flustered expression and watch her face flushed red as Ash gently pry away the strands of hair covering her face.

"Shut up." Ash chuckled as he pulled back, why does he have a thing for tomboy tsunderes? He calmed his beating heart from getting close before turning to Dawn who already took the ample oppurtunity to hug the soft bolster pillow that Ash held dearly. She grinned at his displeased reaction before closing her eyes in bliss when Ash patted her head, seemingly calming her nerves down that she has to confessed her feelings to him so openly.

"Ash, you're basically my knight in shining armour. Even before you saved me in Eterna, I already liked you. It was admiration at first, but I guess admiration became adoration and I started to like you more and more. The final days of our Spring Festival were so wonderful, exploring the sleep villages and tasting the amazing food with my best friend and the boy I like, it was a dream come true for me. You even helped fix my life, I'm able to enroll into the coordinator course today because of you. I managed to tell my mother how I felt about my own failures after all these years because of you. You changed my life Ash. I feel so safe and comfortable around you." The soft and gentle voice, the fragrant hair conditioner, everything was luring Ash to scoop Dawn up and hug her. He reached for Dawn and pulled her close to him, placing his chin on top of her head as he rubbed her bare shoulders with his thumb, sending electrical shocks down her system.

"You mean the world to me Dawn." The blunette under his embrace closed her eyes as she inhaled his scent that lingered on his chest. The Kanto sighed at her actions, normally he would be freaked out and make a fuss about the intimate affection she was showering him, but right now he simply didn't want to ruin the mood. That, or it was just an excuse to get close to the girls he held dear to his heart.

"Now you see why I can't choose any of you?" The tone of absolute defeat from Ash's tone was sudden, causing Dawn and Misty to sit upright and stare at him. The blunette bit her lower lip, feeling Misty's hands rubbing her shoulder as she gave her the look she knew all too well.

It was time to tell him.

"Ash, Misty and I have come to terms with our feelings for you." Ash couldn't believe this, sure they were the best of friends but how would this not affect their friendship?

"How? Don't you two feel jealous of each other?" Misty gently pushed Ash down onto the center of the bed, implying that the 3 of them should get under covers as the cold AC was starting to get to her. It was an excuse to snuggle with Ash, but the Pallet Town native didn't object as his two roommates took refuge under his covers and leaned onto him, waiting for a response from them.

"We share a lot of things together Ash, we won't mind sharing you either." As soon as those words left Misty's mouth, Ash shook his head and gave them a firm and steely look. How can she even suggest that? Sharing him? Utterly ridiculous and stupid, it was almost as if they heard the conversation he had with his mom earlier!

"Are you- no." The serious expression plastered on his face was something both Dawn and Misty anticipated, but they were surprised at how quick Ash was against the idea.

"Ash-"

"This is polygamy, I can't accept that." His sense of morals was something they admire, but times like these made them wish Ash could hear them out before rejecting everything they have to say.

"Why not? If Misty and I are willing to share you, I'm sure the others won't-" Ash shook his head as he pushed the two off him, creating much needed distance between all of them. It hurt Dawn that Ash would even pushed them like this, as he never treated them roughly or anything of the sort. He looked so angry and disappointed right now, that it made her regret to suggest this with Misty.

"Good Arceus Dawn please think about your own careers and future! This won't work between us all, relationship like these won't last long and it would result in us constantly fighting." Misty held Dawn in her arms, surprised at Ash's reaction that seemed exaggerated and forced. Did he think of them as skanks now? Does he think they were toying with him as if he was their plaything? Misty felt Dawn shake under her as Ash tried his best to calm himself down, realizing that he was scaring the two girls he held dear to him.

"Look, I want to make everyone happy but sharing me is not the way to go. What would you parents say about the situation? What if our classmates find out? I don't want your reputation and name to be ruined because of me, you all deserve better." He soft and gentle tone returned, he didn't mean to push them away like that. It was painful to see both of them looking at him in fear, but he had to set them straight and let them know what they are suggesting. He wasn't heartless enough to take advantage of their feelings for him and built a harem just for his own self-gratification and indulgence.

With the two girls reeling his words and processing them in silence, Ash decided to call it a night so he can get some much needed sleep.

"Let's get some sleep alright? We can talk about this in another day, I'm tired." Misty gave a small nod, not willing to continue the conversation herself as she fear it would further sour their relationship.

"I'm sorry Ash." Ash felt like punching himself hearing the guilt ridden tone behind Dawn's voice, he wanted to hug her to tell her that he was sorry but he refrained from even touching her now. Any more physical contact between them, and Ash knew his weak willed mind would give in to Dawn and Misty's ridiculous suggestion. He need to clear his head and think rationally, for their sake.

"I'm not mad, in fact I'm very flattered and happy that you even suggested that. But a polygamous relationship is doomed to fail, and I don't want all of you to get hurt because of me. Please give me time to sort out my feelings." The two girls nodded and seeing that he wasn't in a mood for a hug, they simply left his room without saying anything.

'Well done Ash, you make them hate you now.' He closed the lights in his room, burying his angry and conflicted head into the soft pillows that had Dawn and Misty's scent on them. It wasn't long before the fragrant smell of their shampoo and comforting warmth they left behind quickly lured him to a peaceful sleep.

"So why did you invite us for a over?" Korrina held onto her backpack filled with her clothes and toiletries, she looked around the apartment Dawn, Misty and Ash was sharing. It wasn't huge by any means but it was decently sized, enough to host an entire family even. Suddenly, the sound of rampant footsteps started to approach her, which confused Korrina as everyone was merely just standing in front of the doorway.

"Rockruff." The adorable rock type pokemon sat in front of them, eyeing them in a curious fashion since he has never seen them before. Serena grinned and the sight of a cute pokemon and patted its head, to which it quickly returned by nuzzling her hand.

"Is this the Rockruff you adopted?" The rest of the girls followed suit as they all pat the Puppy Pookemon with relentless affection. Misty chuckled at the sight and opened the door wider so all 3 of them can come in, which they did so immediately as Bea held the rock pokemon in her arms.

"Yeap, technically it belongs to me but-" The girls stared at Dawn who scratched Rockruff's ears, she seemed to be reluctant to finish her sentence. Misty sighed at Dawn's reluctance and helped the girls to place their bags in her room, popping back out in the living room once she was done.

"Dawn is planning to give Rockruff to Ash." The puppy nodded which surprised everyone. It seemed that Dawn and the little one had came to an agreement that he would be under the ownership of Ash Ketchum.

"He's a natural born battler and I don't think he like coordinating." Rockruff's combative capabilities were definitely impressive, if trained right he would be a force to be reckoned with. Bea giggled when it licked her fingers before she place him on the floor and let him go, seemingly wanting to free from her grip.

"Does Ash know?" Dawn shook her head, for the time being, there's no need to bring up the conversation.

"No, I haven't told him yet. But since we are staying together, there's no need for that now." Serena nodded and looked around the neatly tidied house, a certain black haired teen is no where to be seen.

"Where is Ash anyway?" It was perplexing that he wasn't here, but given the heavy conversation they had a few days earlier. The honey blonde teen was worried if he as actively avoiding them.

"He's having dinner with his mom at the moment, we actually didn't tell him all of you were coming over." Korrina was surprised by that, does that mean he doesn't know they are staying overnight? How would he feel having 5 girls staying over?

"What? Then, he doesn't know we are staying over too?" Misty stared at Dawn who was being unusually quiet, she sighed and placed her arm around the blunette shoulders to give her support.

"No. Dawn and I are- we need to talk to all of you. It's important." The redhead lead all of them to the living room, her heart beating in nervousness over what would happen next. She wasn't mentally prepared for this conversation, but Dawn and her had came to agreement that something must be done around their relationship. With a huge deep breath, she sat next to Dawn in their usual spots and grasped her hand, squeezing it lightly.

The blunette stared at her best friend and nodded, accepting the fact they have to go through this uncomfortable conversation with their friends. She steeled her nerves and stared at Serena, Bea and Korrina with a serious expression plastered on her pretty face.

"Misty and I like Ash, we like him a lot." The entire apartment was engulf in pure uncomfortable silence, with no one willing to make a single noise to break the tense and suffocating atmosphere. Korrina sensing that this conversation would be going no where, decided to make a random noise.

"Oh." Dawn was painfully aware of the uneasiness look painted on their face. It was heart wrenching to hear that your friend also like the boy that you like.

"A few nights ago, he brought up our relationship together, not just Misty and I but you guys as well." Bea rubbed her thighs together, tightening her fists on her lap as she tried her best to cool her composure. She wasn't expecting this conversation to come up between them so quickly, it was too sudden for her to handle. Now, she can barely think straight or say anything.

"What did he say?" Korrina spoke softly, lowering her gaze onto the glass table in front of them.

"He likes all 5 of us and he knows all 5 of us like him too." Misty spoke bluntly with her arms crossed, her eyes soon caught Serena murmuring to herself.

"He really did it."

"Serena you knew?" The honey blonde sat upright and felt her face flushed with all the attention being placed on her, she rubbed her arms and nodded slowly, feeling ashamed that she was the one who initiated the conversation with him. The aspiring water type trainer sighed before breaking into a small smile, she knew that Serena had something to do with it.

"I figured it was something to do with you, you were the one who had dinner with him on that night." She felt incredibly ashamed and embarrassed, she wish she could run away from the conversation but since she was essentially trapped in the apartment, she can't go anywhere.

"I'm sorry I-" Hearing her voice breaking down from fear and guilt, Misty went over to her and rubbed her back in a circular manner. She shot her a warm smile and clasped her hand and placed them on her lap.

"We're not mad Serena, we know you have a crush on him too. You were his childhood friend after all." Serena stared at the redhead incredulously before blushing at the sudden realization they all find out that she was the girl Ash was talking about. The others however, well, their reaction is slightly different.

"Wait Serena is the girl Ash was talking about? The one he forgotten and he wished to reunite with her?" Korrina seemed utterly shocked that Serena was the girl Ash was talking about. She stared at her best friend and felt a sense of betrayal that she never told her despite their close friendship, but she would let it slide for now.

"Mhmm."

"But how? Did Ash tell you about me?" They kept it a secret because they didn't want the others to overthink their relationship. Now however, it seemed justified for them to think they were something more than childhood friends given her crush on him.

"We're his roommates, we go to his room all the time and we saw a picture of you and Ash as kids on his desk. So it wasn't hard to figure out that Ash was talking about you." Dawn chuckled when Serena buried her face in her hands, she never changed in terms of appearance. She still have the same long flowing blonde hair and the same bright blue eyes, the only thing that changed was that she now has voluptuous curves and an impressive bust.

"Guess the Purrloin is out the bag." Serena flashed a small smile, happy that all of them seemed to be accepting her feelings towards the trainer from Pallet. With Serena finally admitting her crush, Dawn turned to the others and spoke softly. She had to be careful when it comes to these two, particularly Bea who seemed to masked her feelings for Ash.

"Bea, Korrina, be honest with us. Do you like Ash?" The Galar native remained silent as she crossed her arms in her usual stoic and expressionless face, but anyone could tell she was secretly conflicted with the storms of emotions that engulfed her.

"I- I don't know to be honest, all I know is that I like skating with him." It was pretty pathetic explanation, but Dawn knew that Korrina was having a hard time to admit the truth to them. She probably didn't want to say anything because she was scared that the others would hate her.

"I think all of us should be honest with ourselves. Misty and I came to accept our feelings for him." Serena was appalled that the two roommates were perfectly fine with the feelings towards Ash. How could they treat this like it's nothing new or normal?

"Aren't you two jealous? I mean your best friend likes the boy that you like." Misty sighed, placing her hands behind her head as she leaned behind the sofa.

"That's what Ash said too when we told him we both like him, he almost had a complete mental breakdown when we told him that." He went full logical and rational mode, scolding them for even suggesting something like this. They didn't expect such fierce reaction from him, but given his rational and moralistic personality hidden behind his laidback behavior, it was to be expected.

"But to answer your question, Misty and I, we're the best of friends. We really value our friendship with each other, I don't think destroying our friendship over a boy we both like is worth it." She spoke in a casual manner as she closed her eyes, but she herself wasn't sure if this work between Dawn and her. Initially when Dawn brought up the suggestion during their late night pep talks, she was shocked at the outlandish idea. But gradually, as she mulled over the past experience they had with each other and the fact Dawn was willing. Soon enough, she slowly came to accept the idea. If it works, everyone is happy, if it doesn't, at the very least they gave it a shot.

"So what? How would this work between the 2 of you?" Dawn eyed Misty, wanting her to be the one who would tell them the truth. The redhead sighed and sat upright, smiling slightly in the process when all eyes landed on her.

"Dawn and I plan to share him." The absolute look of astonishment on their faces was something to be expected, Bea was the first to collect her bearings and placed her hands on the table before her.

"S-Share him? Are you insane? How is that going to work-" Dawn smiled at Bea's outburst, it seemed that she couldn't contain her feelings for Ash much longer.

"Bea calm down, no need to be so riled up." The Galar native averted her gaze and crossed her arms, not liking the fact Misty and Dawn saw through her. Seeing the silence from her friends, Dawn knew she had to justify her idea with them. It did came out of no where, though the blunette did wonder if any of them had ever entertain that idea before, even a little.

"The reason why Ash hasn't make a move on us is because he's afraid." Bea uncrossed her arms and stared at Dawn who's lip curled slightly upwards. Korrina was surprised that Ash was afraid of courting them considering they were constantly dropping hints around him, all of them were willing to date Ash, he just needed to ask.

"Afraid?"

"He's afraid that the whole group would won't be the same. He doesn't want any of us to be hurt over who he chooses, so he rather stay as friends with all of us." The wave of realization washed over Korrina and Bea, so that's why he was so reluctant. The roller skating enthusiast clenched her fists on the hem of her skirt, feeling upset that Ash had to make such a tough decision that would inevitable hurt one of them.

"Is there anyone he likes? Did he say anything?" Bea spoke lowly, trying her best not to show her curiosity and passion.

"He told us he can't choose." Misty spoke bluntly, remembering the conversation they had a few days ago. Serena cursed inwardly, blaming herself for bringing this conversation up to Ash. None of this would have happened if she never asked Ash and played dumb. It all happened because she just want to know how Ash felt for her.

"That's what Ash said to me as well. This whole conversation started because of me, I was the one who asked him about how he felt being around us. I'm really sorry everyone, I know all of this happened because of me. I just want to know if I have a place in his heart and-" Misty quickly embraced the crying blonde next to her, shocked that she would even blame herself for this. She sympathize the Kalos teen, she arguably knew Ash the longest yet was unable to get her feelings across without competing with her best friends.

"There, there Serena don't cry, we're not mad. Thank you for being the one who broke the ice, none of us were willing to talk about it because we were all scared of the outcome. You are doing us a huge favour." Korrina patted Serena's shoulders, handling her the tissue from the table.

"B-But what if Ash chose neither of us?" Serena was scared that she might have drove Ash off, that the pressure was too much for him to handle and instead, he decides to date someone else.

"Then it is his choice and we should respect it, whether we like it or not." Dawn practically forced those words out of her, but she dearly hoped that didn't have to come to this. She would rather have Ash date one of her best friends than having him date a complete stranger.

The sound of the door being unlocked caused the girls to turn to the doorway, it was no doubt that Ash had finally came back home from having dinner with his mother. They looked amongst each other and panicked over the conversation they were having, should they confront Ash? Should they pretend nothing has happened and just have a friendly hang out session?

"I'm back, mom brought some-" Ash's initial jovial tone turned into confusion when he saw all the girls sitting in the living room, staring at him with a blush appearing on their faces. It was odd, especially when Serena's eyes looked red and puffy, as if she has been crying.

"-Biscuits." Ash carefully placed the box of biscuits on the table. He smiled when Rockruff came to greet him as it nuzzled his legs, he picked to rock type pokemon up and ruffled its fur before setting it back down on the ground, letting him roam around the house freely.

"Hi Ash." The Kanto native reluctantly sat next to Dawn and stared at all of his friends, unnerved at all the attention he was receiving as well as the tense atmosphere that came with it.

"Hi aside, what are you all doing here?" He wasn't informed they would come over, not that he minded but it was nerve wrecking to have all of his friends over to his house. What if they snoop around his room and found some things they weren't met to see and no, he wasn't talking about his collection of doujins.

"We're sleeping over tonight." Ash nodded awkwardly, at the very least they could inform of they stay right? They came out of no where and just decided they would stay overnight. Where do they sleep? Had they have dinner yet? Did they bring extra clothes? Those were questions that plagued him.

"Oh uh sure, could have told me earlier you know." He wasn't about to kick them out, far from it. But he was slightly upset that the girls would keep this from him. As Ash was about to stand up and get some drinks for his guests, Dawn held his arm and prevented him from leaving, surprising him with the emotional laced eyes she was showing him.

"Please sit down with us." He reluctantly sat back down and sighed at how tense the mood is, there's no way there were talking about that right?

"I think you know what we are talking about Ash." Dawn held his hand and rubbed them with her fingers gently. The Kanto native gave off an frustration sigh and stared at all of his friends, not liking the fact they were all looking at him, expecting him to say something of value or importance.

"I still can't choose, this is impossible. I like all of you." Admittedly, their hearts fluttered when Ash said that. But seeing Ash being so depressed and conflicted over his inability to choose, it worried all of them. Dawn rubbed his arm, careful not to be too intimate in front of the others girls.

"You don't need to choose one Ash." She is still on about that? How could she and the others be onboard with the idea? No one in their right mind would agree to this, it's insulting to share the one you love with others no?

"Dawn we been through this, polygamy won't work. I know you want everyone to be happy but this- this simply won't work." He was tired of telling Dawn off, no means no. He would be lying if he didn't find the idea entertaining and tempting, but he had to be level headed here. Many things are at stake if they decided to pursue that relationship, careers, reputations and personal feelings.

"I'm forfeiting." The empty words came out from Bea's mouth who stood up in with her fists clenched. Korrina grabbed her hand try to pull her down to sit back, only to have the Galar native to violently yanked her off.

"Bea?" Ash tried to place a hand on her when she pushed him off, maintaining an uncomfortable distance between them. She bit her lower lip and stared at the wall, refusing to look into Ash's hazel brown eyes that she grew to love.

"Even if you like me, I won't return the feelings." Misty was heartbroken at what Bea was doing to herself, she stood up and glared at her, what is this girl thinking?

"I know you like Ash Bea, don't deny those feelings to yourself." The Pallet town native silently watched the entire interaction playing in front of him, but seeing Bea struggling to contain her raw emotions was hard to watch.

"It's not worth it, I want to make this easier for Ash. We can stay as friends, I don't mind." It was all bunch of lies just to make him feel better, she was forcing herself in this position just to help him. He felt helpless in this situation, what can he possibly say to her?

"Bea I- is this really what you want?" Bea's gray eyes were dilating, with small tears starting to form in her eyes. Of course this is not what she wanted, far from it. However, she was willing to let Ash go if it meant the whole group can stay as friends, even if it pains her. Right now, she can't even give a firm yes to him because deep down she knew, she didn't want this.

With how messy the situation is, Misty decided to approach Ash and gave him an authoritative look that he knew all too familiar.

"Ash, give us a moment please?" He only obliged, knowing that they wanted to talk to Bea in private. He entered his room and shut it lock behind him, feeling utterly exhausted and emotionally drained from what is happening. He felt guilty, horrible that what Bea is proposing. Forfeit? He knew damn well the Galar native liked him, she trusted him enough to open her inner struggles to him. This was unfair to her, she's been through so much in her life, from her tough childhood and her parents neglecting her, why can't she be happy for once?

"What are you thinking Bea?" Korrina angrily yanked her back down once Ash entered his room, she stare at the Galar native in the eyes, but her anger quickly subsided when the absolute look of defeat in her eyes replaced her normally confident and determined attitude.

"This dancing around our feelings thing isn't worth it, Ash and I, we're never have that kind of connection." No connection? Korrina grabbed Bea's shoulders and glared at her in the eyes again, what the hell is she talking about? The way the two would share their desserts with each other, the way she would leaned onto Ash and doze off after a tired of working out, everything the two did were adorable. To hear Bea say something as ridiculous as this was stupid!

"Bullshit, you and him look adorable together. Didn't you say he changed your life for the better? Are you willing to Ash go like that? Isn't he important to you?" Everyone surrounded Bea, encouraging her to not give Ash up. Korrina grabbed her shoulders tightly, glaring at her with a firm look plastered on her pretty face. The Galar native gritted her teeth when all the past memories of Ash and her together flashed in her head and unsurprisingly, she snapped.

"Yes! Alright? He means the fucking world to me! I never open up my feelings to others before and he managed to do it in the first day! I feel happy around him, my heart beats faster when I leaned onto him, I feel giddy and girly when he compliments me, when he calls me cute. I like showing off in front of him, I don't mind wearing next to nothing when I'm with him and I want him to know that I love him so much so it aches when I see him hurting like this!" The tears flowing from her eyes and the pained voice were heart wrenching to watch, but at the very least, her inner feelings for Ash has finally came out. As everyone attempted to comfort Bea from her outburst, Ash opened his room door and stared at Bea with mouth agape.

"Ash." The young teen stood in front of them, completely frozen and shocked at Bea's true feelings for him. He slowly approached her and quickly embrace her into a tight hug, with his own tears threatening to fall from his eyes as he held tightened his hug when Bea slowly return the gesture.

"Bea I-I'm sorry, I didn't know." The two shared a much needed embrace for each other, with Ash almost pining his body down on top of Bea. The Galar native cursed at herself for her own outburst, Ash didn't need to hear that, she didn't want to make this more complicated for him and yet here she was, selfishly enjoying the warm embrace he was giving her.

"It doesn't matter." She whispered softly to him, forcing herself to give the blatant lie to him. Yet she knew that Ash didn't believe her, especially after hearing her confession of her true feelings for him. The two managed to collect themselves, sitting upright with Bea wiping the tears off her eyes with her hands.

"Bea, let's go clean up alright?" Misty placed her hand on Bea's shoulder, who nodded in return. The redhead led her to the bathroom to clean herself up, while also giving Ash the chance to sort out his feelings. The absolute silence and conflicted look from the Kanto native made Dawn worry, perhaps now he understood the full extent of their feelings to him.

"Ash, you don't need to feel bad about all of this." Serena managed to speak meekly, hoping to make Ash feel better for himself over what's happening.

"Hard to feel that way, I knew Bea likes me but I didn't know it was to that extent." He spoke softly, placing his arms on his lap as he thought about what Bea just said. The distraught and the storms of emotions in her voice, it was all so genuine and sincere.

"You were the first person she fully opened up to and, you were the first friend she made the school. You mean the world to her because you changed her world." To Ash that was exaggerated, he highly doubt he had such a profound impact on Bea. But maybe to the gray haired teen, he did mean that much to her and he just didn't know it.

"All I really did was talk to her, I didn't do much."

"There's a plethora of reasons why we like you Ash, it's not just one thing that make us fall for you." Serena hugged the couch pillows, comforting herself with the soft fabric.

"And you're okay with that? Knowing that the others also feel the same way?" He was astounded at the lack of argument between all of them. How could they be okay with this? Best friends or not, personal feelings should take center stage. Your own happiness is important, period.

"I view it as some form of competition, but I was never bitter about it. Maybe envious." Korrina spoke softly, toying the locks of hair as she stared at the direction of Misty and Bea.

"How can you all be okay with that? If I know my best friend likes the girl I likes, I will feel bitter and conflicted." Personally for Ash, he would be willing to let go of the girl of his dreams than to burn bridges with his best friend. No one should invest all of their personal happiness into one person, even if you think they are perfect. But he was a weak minded person, that opinion could easily change at a moment's notice if the girl she likes show him even an ounce of affection.

With Bea and Misty emerging back to the living room, Ash attempted to stood up and walk towards Bea when Dawn stopped him. She stood between them and held her hands together, she didn't want Ash to talk to Bea, not right now when she is still reeling from her confession.

"Ash you haven't showered yet right?" Ash shook his head, glancing at Bea who refused to look at him directly in the eyes.

"Go ahead and freshen up." Dawn pleaded with her bright blue eyes that Ash simply can't resist. The way she pouted with her lips was simply unfair to him.

"I-"

"Please?" The cutesy tone of her voice made Ash sigh, Dawn was never one to do things without reasoning. He nodded and decided a nice shower would do his body and mind some good. With Ash out of the way, Dawn sat next to Korrina as they surrounded Bea, hoping they can continue their conversation.

"I'm sorry for the outburst, I don't know what came over me." Bea buried her face in her hands, feeling utterly embarrassed and humiliated that she shouted her feelings out for Ash like that. Korrina patted her shoulders as she leaned onto her, hugging her with one of her arms.

"Its okay Bea, we understand." Misty admired Bea's mental fortitude, to keep all of her feelings bottled up like that for so long must be painful.

"I- I really don't want to make this difficult for him but at the same time, I really hope he chooses me. I'm sorry." Serena sighed and rubbed Bea's thighs in a soothing manner. That was exactly how she felt, at one hand she wanted Ash to be happy, on the other hand, she wished he finds that happiness with her.

"That's how I feel too."

"I think that's how we all feel, we want to be with him but at the same time we don't want each other to be heartbroken." Serena thought deeply about Dawn's words, sharing Ash? Would it work realistically? Sharing Ash to preserve their friendship? What would people say about them?

"Dawn, Misty, you mentioned you won't mind sharing him right?" Misty blinked before nodding with a smile, she leaned onto Dawn and hugged her arm.

"That's right, I don't mind sharing him so as long I'm with him. Dawn was my first friend in this school and I treat her like my own sister. Ash saved her life in Eterna and treated us well too, I don't mind sharing him with my best friend, so as long the 3 of us can be happy together." Serena smiled at that, she knew Dawn and Misty were close, but to the point where they were willing to share the boy they liked with each other? That must be some deep friendship and bond that transcends space and time.

"But he doesn't like that idea." Dawn added on quickly, frowning at Ash's resistance. All she asked was to give it a shot, an experimental relationship. They were pretty much sharing Ash before this anyway when they snuggle up to him and practically begged for his affection during late nights, so this shouldn't be any different right?

"Is it okay if I share him too?" To say she was astonished was understatement, Misty stared at Serena and was surprised that the honey blonde teen would even suggest that. Serena has always strike Misty as the possessive type, she harbour deep feelings for Ash for the longest time and now she's suggesting if she can share him? There was a really high chance Ash would choose her solely because she was he's first friend and the two share much deeper bond than the rest of them. Honestly speaking, Serena didn't have to share Ash with them if she doesn't want to.

"Serena?" The honey blonde teen sat upright and placed her hand on her red skirt, staring at the glass table in front of her.

"I liked Ash for the longest of time, he was my best friend from young and I really grew to admire him. To think I get to see him after all these years, it was as if fate has taken a pity on me and gave me the chance to be with him. Now, knowing that my best friends also like the boy I liked, I feel like I'm in some drama movie. I will admit and say I felt jealous when I knew you two were staying with Ash or every time Korrina and Bea would lean on to him while they pretend to be busy on their phones, it annoyed the hell out of me. But now, after knowing all of you on a personal level, I could understand why Ash likes all of you. You are all amazing people, and all I have going for me is that I'm Ash's childhood friend. I don't know if he will choose me and even if he does, I can't bring myself to look all of you in the eye."

"That's not true Serena, you and Ash are meant to be. I knew something was up when you two started to talk with each other more often, you always seemed to be in a good mood whenever you're hanging out with Ash. I guess know why you were so happy after Ash told us about his childhood friend story at the Yakiniku restaurant." Korrina's positive energy made Serena smiled, she flicked her best friend's forehead before turning back to Dawn and Misty with a serious expression.

"Dawn, Misty, I don't mind sharing Ash with both of you, or anyone of us here. So as long I can be with him, that's all I ask. I don't want to trade my friendship with all of you just for Ash, I'm willing to compromise and, this would make it easier for Ash too." Misty shook her head, this was what Ash meant when he said all of them were compromising their own personal happiness for others.

"But Serena you liked him for so long, to share him with other girls, doesn't it hurt?" Hurt? Annoyed would be the perfect way describe it but she was never bitter when Ash skates with Korrina or when Misty tussle Ash's hair like a child.

"Maybe, but seeing all of you sulking and unhappy definitely hurts way more. As much as I want Ash for myself, I also want all of us to have a fair chance with him. My lifelong dream is to become a beautiful performer like Aria, but now I also dream on travelling around the world by Ash's side, with all of you joining us. So I don't mind all of us being together."

"Misty?" The redhead sighed, why does Dawn think of her as the one who should decide everything. In retrospect, she's like the big sister of the group so she can understand why most of them turn to her for guidance and advice. Though her decision shouldn't sway any of their own decision for themselves.

"If you are honestly okay with it, and you're not bitter about it. I don't mind at all, all of us pretty much spend most of our time together anyway. I don't see how this really changes that dynamic to be honest. I can understand if you all feel weirded out about this and honestly I don't know if this is what I really want. But, for now I want all of us to have a fair chance with him. I don't have much friends growing up so all of you are pretty much all I have, I treat each of you like sisters, family even. So Serena yes, I don't mind." She clasped Serena's hand, giggling when the Kalos native hugged her tightly in gratitude. Indeed, all of them are her precious little sisters.

"Korrina? Bea?"

"You're willing to share Ash with us?" Dawn nodded, placing her phone on the table.

"Honestly, Misty and I have been talking this over. We came to the conclusion that maybe, all 5 of us can share Ash." Bea shook her head immediately, 5 of them sharing one boy? That was way too much, harem relationships don't last long and there is a reason why they are few and far in between.

"Dawn that won't work, polygamous relationship don't last long. There would be a lot of fighting and-" Bea seemed to adopt Ash's mentality and way of thinking, which explains why they get along so well.

"Bea, when Ash leaned his forehead against mine after his battle with Conway and placed his arms around me, how did you feel?" How did she feel? Fine honestly, Bea always knew Dawn and Ash shared a special bond with each other, especially after their Eterna city holiday experience. Quite the contrary, she was happy that Ash knows how to comfort Dawn even if she likes the Kanto native herself.

"I- normal I guess. I always knew you two are close, so I didn't mind." Dawn snapped her fingers at that, surprising everyone with the confident smile plastering on her face.

"Exactly! You don't mind when Ash show affection to me, and I don't mind when you lean onto Ash or share your desserts with him too. My point is, if you're fine with Ash touching or complimenting me, then I don't really see us fighting over for his affection." Bea scratched her chin, while there was a hint of truth in her words, that only applies to hugs and kisses to the forehead. What about serious stuff like Kalos kissing or touching each other's body?

"That's- but what about more serious stuff? What if I make out with him in front of you or I rubbed my chest against him, how would you feel?" Dawn grinned and puffed her chest out in a seemingly teasing manner.

"Then I will do the same thing just to outdone you. If all of us are fine with expressing our affection to Ash before this, logically speaking I don't see us fighting." Seeing that they weren't convince by her explanation, Misty decided to step in.

"Look, I know sharing the boy you like with other girls isn't exactly normal, but at the very least we can make this experimental. If it works out, we see how long it can go. If it doesn't, at the very least we know we gave it a shot. In the end if Ash decided to call the entire relationship off and chose one of us, then at the very least we know he was willing to court us for our sake."

"I don't mind that."

"Korrina are you sure?" Serena grasped he best friend's arm, who responded by patting her hand.

"I always thought the two of us have a special bond, you know our skating sessions are always private. It's the only time where the two of us can be in our own world and feel the gentle breeze of the wind brushing our face. Times like these makes me feel like I'm on a date with him. Every time he touches my hand or place his arms around me, it makes my body tingle, it makes me nervous but happy at the same time. Whenever he calls me Korri, I feel so embarrassed yet I love it. A special nickname that is only meant for him, I don't want anyone else to call me Korri except him. Sharing Ash with all of you would be so strange, but if it meant that all of us can stay together as friends and I get to be with him, I don't mind making some sacrifices." Korrina's face flushed red, realizing how embarrassing it was to say her inner feelings out loud to her friends.

"All of you are kind of pressuring me to join this harem thing you know?" Bea chuckled as she rubbed her arms in a bashful manner, feeling the peer pressure to do the same.

"Bea you don't need to do this, there's a high chance Ash would choose you. You don't have to share him with us if you don't want to." Dawn spoke firmly, she was in no means trying to coerce everyone to accept that idea. But at the very least, she wanted to convince them to try the idea out with no ill feelings with each other. If Ash chose Bea and she wants Ash for himself, then that's fine because she would have Ash's consent and affection.

"All of you are my best friends, I won't want to trade our friendship for the world. Especially you Korrina, if you and your grandfather didn't take me in, I will be stuck alone in my house without any form of companionship. I really appreciate the hospitality and warmth you showed me. You even forgive me after I shouted at your so harshly at the first time we met, so I-" Korrina pulled Bea's head to her chest, hugging her tightly to her. She has long forgiven Bea, now she just wants to spend time with her best friends.

"It's okay Bea, no hard feelings." Bea smiled and hugged Korrina back with her eyes closed, she slowly peeled herself away from Korrina and stared at Dawn and Misty, smiling a little at the thought of what would happen to their relationship.

"I'm down with the idea, if it doesn't work, then at the very least we all can stay as friends right?" Dawn wasn't sure if the girls were fully downed with the idea, but if they could give it a shot between all of them, maybe it might work. The hardest part is to convince Ash that this was okay, but given his mindset, he probably won't agree to it.

"Right. But I think our decision and choice means little if Ash doesn't agree to it." The girls nodded and huddle together, waiting for Ash to finish his shower. A few minutes passed and Ash finally appeared in front of them with his white shirt and long pants, he awkwardly approached Bea, maintaining a fix distance between them.

"You okay Bea?" The Galar native nodded, hugging the couch pillow.

"I'm fine, I'm sorry you have to hear that." Ash smiled, sitting back down next to Dawn with his hair still slightly wet.

"It's alright." With everyone looking at Dawn, she knew she had to be the one to break the news to him. She entangled her arms around his and spoke slowly, hoping that he won't push her off again.

"Ash we came to the conclusion that no matter who you choose, we don't mind sharing."

"All of us like you, perhaps you like some of us more than the others, but I can personally say I don't mind sharing you with my best friends. I know they will treat all of us well." Ash narrowed his eyes, now all of the girls are on board with the idea? Are they under the influence of Hypnosis or something? How can they agree to this idea without thinking about the consequences?

"Are you all stupid? This- Dawn this is your doing isn't it?" He couldn't bring himself to raise his voice at Dawn, especially when he was reminded about the rough push he gave her a few nights before. He took a deep breath as he calmed himself, very well if these girls won't do the logical thinking, he will do it for them.

"I- do you all know what you are asking here? You're essentially placing all your eggs in one basket, and that basket is shared with other people. I never dated before, much less 5 girls as once. Please understand that this isn't some fantasy or some romance drama, this is the real world. You future careers, parents, your reputation, everything you worked hard for can be all swept away because of this." Korrina frowned, Ash brought up a few good points. Her grandfather would be disappointed in her if he knew she was sharing Ash would 4 others girls, he might think of her as a submissive slut who goes around and toy with boys. She always wanted to make him proud and if he knows the truth about their relationship, he might even severe ties with her.

"We're not asking you to marry us Ash, we're just asking you to give this a shot. We don't mind sharing you because we realized that we were basically doing that before this anyway." Ash shook his head, crossing his arms in a calm manner.

"There are so many other boys out there, don't pidgeyhole yourself to me. Misty, don't you like our senior Rudy? Korrina, isn't Clemont interested in you? There are so many alternate options out there, so many fish in the sea. You don't necessarily have to choose me." He was fully convince because most of them spend their time with him, he was the only boy that was exposed to them, thus making them fall for him. People fall in love with the people around them because it's easy, this was no different.

Misty sighed and looked away, it was true that she has a huge crush on their senior Rudy who was the president of the swimming club. But that was more of a surface level that stems from his handsome appearance and his charming personality, nothing deep or intimate. Now however, she has Ash in her life who replaced her crush on Rudy by leaps and bounds. He was there for her when she needs him and he always help them out whenever they are in a pinch, her crush on Rudy was simply a rumour that she spread herself to prevent other boys in school from chasing after her.

As for Clemont, Korrina would be honest and say she never thought of Clemont that way. He was an eccentric fellow, and he was pretty cute but Korrina never see him as a potential date or partner, just a classmate who she talks to from time to time.

"So you're asking us to date other people?" Serena spoke weakly, just thinking about that idea horrifies her. No one could compete with Ash in her heart, no one, not even the boy Tierno or Sawyer who showed interest in her.

"Yes, I want all of you to distance yourself away from me and clear your head. Think rationally and try to mingle around with others and be exposed to the different types of people. I- I don't have the confidence or finesse to date a girl, I would be a horrible boyfriend." The lack of confidence in his voice was supported by his inexperience in dating, he hoped that by now he can convince the girls that maybe dating him was a bad idea because he can't possibly live up to their expectations.

"Ash you never dated, how would you know you will be a bad boyfriend? You treated us so kindly so far, us dating won't change a damn thing." Why are they so stubborn? Ash was running out of justifications and reasonings now.

"I need to keep account of your feelings, individually. What if I treat one of you better than the others? You would feel bitter and jealous, you will regret your decision and wish that you can take back the time and emotions you invested in me. Girls, is not just about making each other happy. Your own personal happiness is on the line here!" Why on earth would you choose a guy who can only give you their 20%, when you can date a guy who can give you their 100% everyday? There was simply no contest for Ash, these girls need to think straight.

"Then choose." Misty spoke coldly, if he can't choose, then this conversation between them is going no where. Ash scratched his hair in frustration, he knew this was all his fault but how can he choose? Give him weeks, months or even years and Ash doubt he can make a choice.

"I know this is all on me, but I need time."

"How long? How long are you going to make us wait?" Misty was borderline fed up with this, Ash seemed to be dodging the choices. In her mind, Ash was coward for not choosing, despite knowing how hard it is for him. But at this point she was annoyed and frustrated that he is leaving them like this.

"Long enough to make you hate me." Why is he like this? Was he willing to let them hate him so they can move on from him? Misty stomped her way towards him and stood in front of him, bearing an angry yet pained expression on her face. She couldn't see his facial expression since he lowered his head, but she can tell that he was angry.

"Ash why are doing this? Any boy would jump at the chance to be with 5 beautiful girls. Why are you so stubborn?" He raised his head with tears of frustration in his eyes, shocking everyone in the room. Before Misty had the chance to apologize Ash started to let loose.

"You think I don't want this? You think I don't want to have 5 amazing and beautiful girlfriends who would shower me with love and affection? I'm holding myself back because I care for all of you! I want what's best for you, I want all of you to think rationally and choose the correct path in your life! I want nothing but to kiss everyone of you and spend my days hugging all of you but I can't because I know that's selfish of me! All of you are important to me, I can't choose because it means I have to let the other 4 of you go."

"You all can call me a playboy, a player and I'm fine with that because that's what my dad was too. He left my mom and I for another woman, so I swore that I would never do the same damn thing, to treat every women in my life with the utmost respect. But look at me now! The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, and now I playing with the feelings of 5 girls because of my inability to keep hands and emotions to myself!"

"I'm scared, I don't want any of you to get hurt because of me." Ash sobbed into his hands, feeling relieved that he finally revealed his true feelings out. He hated looking weak in front of his friends, but right now he can't handle the pressure they were giving to him. He expected all of them to hate him, to leave him but to his utter surprise, he felt them hugging him in a comforting manner.

He slowly opened his eyes and was heartbroken at the sight of all the girls crying because of him. Each other them approached him and hugged in tightly, comforting him with their warmth and soft whispers. He hated his father, he loathed the man who brought so much pain and torment to his mother. He vowed to to never become like him yet the moment he befriended all 5 of these girls, he couldn't shake the feeling off that he would become just like him.

"Ash, let's all just stay as friends for now. Until you're ready, I don't mind waiting." Serena pulled his head into her breast, ruffling his hair softly. She knew Ash grew up fatherless, but she never knew Ash's reluctance of dating was because of his father. She wouldn't mind waiting, she had waited for him for 10 years now, she can wait a little longer.

"Serena's right, we can wait." Bea whispered, drying Ash's tears with the tissue. She flashed a gentle smile at him and squeezed his hand. She glanced at a nervous Misty and nudged her to talk to him with a firm steely look.

"I'm sorry Ash, I didn't mean to pressure you." Ash glanced at Misty and sighed, he place his arm around Misty's waist and pulled her towards him, giving a cute yelp in the process. The other girls were surprised by Misty's sudden bashful nature with her cheeks flushed red, but were relieved that Ash didn't held a grudge against her and forgive her outburst.

"It's okay Misty, I know how frustrating it is for you. Sorry for yelling." Misty managed a nod when Ash patted her head. He glanced at everyone around him and bowed slightly, feeling blessed to have such understanding friends surrounding him.

"I'm sorry for shouting everyone, I think I might have wake the neighbours up." Ash ended with a sheepish chuckle, it was late at night and he was sure that his outburst had reached the heavens, and the thin walls surrounding them.

"It's alright, let me get you a glass water." Dawn went to the kitchen and poured a glass of water for Ash, she returned the living room soon after and handed him the cup, sitting close to him once he was done. The sofa wasn't huge by any means, but it was enough to facilitate 6 people on one side.

Wordlessly, all of them sat in silence as the looming thunder storm boomed. The once awkward silence is now replaced by the tranquil silence of the night, with the cooling breeze of the upcoming rain brushing against their hair.

"I don't deserve all of you, I really don't." Ash spoke softly, feeling their body leaning onto him. Arceus, why does it have to feel so good to have them near him? He can hear their breathing, the strands of hair tickling his face and their beating hearts next to him. He knew they were giving him ample amount time to choose but right now, if he had to be honest, he really didn't want to choose, which made him horrible.

"Don't say that please." Dawn whispered in his ear, with the various scented shampoo of the others girls relaxing her body. It was odd seeing all of her friends leaning onto Ash like this, but it was nice in some way. With everyone seemed to be relaxed and in content, Ash decided to move on from the situation by distracting themselves with something else. Anymore cuddling with them and Ash knew he can't think rationally anymore.

"Since we are all here, why don't we watch a movie together?"

A week has passed since the emotional night, and true to their word, the girl has maintained a healthy distance from him. They didn't avoid him or gave him the cold shoulder, but they didn't display their usual physical closeness or teasing. It was as platonic as it can get, but Ash could tell the girls were holding themselves back. The Kanto native sighed as he tried to pay attention in class, he shifted his attention to Miss Erika who is writing boring Pokemon notes on the chalkboard.

As the school bell finally rang that meant class had ended, his homeroom teacher cleared her throat to get the attention of the class and once she had their attention, she excitingly brought up a travel brochure that showed Snowpoint City on its cover.

"Students, I have an exciting announcement to make. The school has been secretly planning a trip for first year students, our aim is to expose students to the different cities and cultures of Sinnoh, this year the school has chosen the snowy city of Snowpoint." Ash raised his eyebrows, as he swung his arms on his the empty chair next to him. Ash had change his desk sitting to the back of the class due to miss Erika randomizing class sittings after a student of the class had transferred to a different course. While it can be lonely without a deskmate, Ash enjoyed the freedom of having more space to himself.

"Snowpoint city? That's so amazing, I saw picture of the city online, it looks so beautiful at night!" Erika smiled at her students enthusiasm and nodded, the way the white snow reflected the lights in the night was something magical.

"It is, in fact the school will be paying for the entire trip."

"This is so cool, when is the trip miss?" The exciting voice in Goh's voice represented the entire class eagerness.

"Calm down. The trip would be held in August 9. It would be a 3 days 2 night trip, the aim is to not only expose students to the different cultures in Sinnoh, but also to train students to endure cold and harsh weather of Sinnoh. This won't be a leisure trip, all of you will still have to study and stay in school." The groans of despair from her students made her sigh at their single minded nature. In an attempt to cheer them up, she placed the brochure down and crossed her arms.

"But! You are allowed to bring your starters with you." A trip with Pikachu huh? Ash would like that, he often told Pikachu his dream of travelling around the world with him by his side. Now, it seemed that they were one step closer to that dream.

"Really?" Sabrina muttered as she leaned her cheek against her hand, going on a trip with her adorable Abra seemed to be a nice and snuggly thought.

"That's right, all of you have competed your first term exam. Those who passed, which is fortunately all of you, will receive your very own Pokedex." Every student would be entitled to a Pokedex huh? It would be handy tool for students like them as they go around and study the different types pokemon. Though Ash heard they function similarly to a phone and a PSP combined, truly a monumental mark of technological advancement.

"Our own pokedex?"

"Mhmm, there are many ice type pokemon who resides on the snowy mountains of Snowpoint. This would give all of you the perfect oppurtunity to explore and discover the different types of pokemon in the world." Provided they don't freeze to death and suffer from severe hypothermia, Ash was looking forward to this trip.

"Ooh I can't wait."

"So please inform you parents, we want everyone to experience the school trip. The school has placed a lot of resources and effort to ensure all of you would have a good time." Must be a lot of hard work for the school to pull off something like this, food, accommodation, transport, it must be a logistical nightmare.

"Miss is it just our class?" Erika shook her head, cleaning the chalkboard in the process.

"Nope, other student from others courses such as Performers, Coordinators, Breeders and Doctors would join too." Ash stared at Misty and saw the smile creeping on her face. She was probably happy knowing that Dawn can join her for the trip, and he was looking forward to it too. The 6 of them huddling together over a fireplace as they sip on some hot chocolate with their pokemon curling next to them, it was a wonderful thought.

"That's a lot of people."

"Exactly, but don't worry, Mr Brawly and I will personally be there to supervise you." The reassuring wink from their teacher made every smiled in glee as they expressed their gratitude to Erika with a big "thank you." Ash chucked at the response and stared at the window next to him, Snowpoint city huh?
