The Fall of Hyrule Castle

(Elina's POV)

*All five of us ran out of the Sanctuary*

Elina:*in her mind* Vaati is free again!

Green Link: If the legend is right, he wants to rule Hyrule! Let's get back to the castle!

(Third-Person POV)

*Meanwhile, a black cloud was coming towards us castle*

Castle Guard: W . . . What is that black shadow!?

*The dark versions of Link & Elina were riding on the back of a dragon*

Shadow Elina: Our dark ones! Tear down Hyrule Castle!

Shadow Link: There's a new Link in this chain!

*Soon, the demons were swarming the castle*

Captain of the Guard: The seal must have been broken! Don't let the demons take the Castle! *he sliced the head off a demon & then ran down the hallway* Princess Zelda! *he soon arrived at the throne* Princess, are you alright? *just then, he saw Link, on floor in front of the throne with stab wound in his chest. he dropped his sword & ran to his son* Link! My son! What happened to you? Did you try to fight alone again? You fool! *just then, he noticed something behind the throne. he looked & the blood in his body froze. Elina was laying on the floor. Her dress was torn, her headdress was gone, her hair had come undone, & there was a gash across her chest (look up "Shadow Elina - Disguised as a Dead Elina" by "SwanGirl24" on "DeviantArt"). Elina! *he ran to her & picked her up* My daughter! My sunshine! *he gathered both of his children in his arms* Please! Gods of Hyrule! Save my children! Take my life, but spare theirs!

*He held both bodies of his children close to him as he cried*

Shadow Link: My, my . . . What a good Father you are.

*He was shocked when he heard that voice. He looked & saw the shadow twins had replaced his children*

Shadow Elina: It's so touching I could cry.

*They both touched his chest & he screamed. His body then disappeared, leaving his armor behind*

Shadow Link: Let us welcome you to the Dark World.

(Elina's POV)

*The five of us climbed a rocky hill past a waterfall & a river*

Purple Link: Aren't we there yet!

Green Link: We should see it when we cross this river!

Red Link: Can we rest a little?

Elina: As much as I'd like to, we don't have time to stop. We've got to tell Father about all this as soon as possible!

Red Link: First we need to make a decision.

Green Link: About what?

Red Link: Names! Names! We can't all be called Link, we need nicknames! I wear red clothes, so call me Red. *he looked at the Blue Link* You're Blue.

Blue Link: Huh!?

*Red ignored him & looked at the Green & Purple Links*

Red Link: Purple. No. Violet? Or maybe just Vio?

Purple Link: Isn't that a girl's name?

Red Link: And Green! Whad'ya think?

Green Link: It's weird, but it makes sense, I guess.

Elina: I like it. Makes it easier for us to communicate and for me to tell you apart.

Blue Link: You can't just change people's names! I won't answer to anything other than Link!

Red Link: It's a great idea! I'm a genius!

Blue Link: You're an idiot! Look, just cuz we look alike doesn't mean we're gonna be buddies!

Red Link: You're no fun.

Purple Link: Right. Hanging around you four fools is dangerous to my health.

*Blue Link grabbed him by his shirt collar*

Blue Link: You callin' me a fool!? I oughta . . .

Green Link: Oh, come on! Stop it! We're all copies of the same person! Do you really want to hurt yourself!?

Blue Link: Don't say this guy is the same as me! Or I'll pop you too! You three can call each other stupid nicknames!

Red Link: My nicknames aren't stupid!

Blue Link: I'm the main Link! Got it?

Green Link: If there's a main Link, it's me! Everyone knows Link dresses in green!

*Blue looked shocked & looked down at his blue tunic*

Blue Link: Rats! *he then attacked Green with his sword. Green blocked it with his sheathed sword* You think you're better'n me just because you wear green!? Take it off! We're switching tunics now! And hats too!

Green Link: Geez! Why isn't "Blue" me more laid back and mellow?

*Having heard enough, I went up to them & yanked both of their ears (look up "Elina - Pulling all four Links by the Ear" by "SwanGirl24" on "DeviantArt")*

Green & Blue Links: OW!

*I then pulled the ears of the Red & Purple Links (look up "Elina - Pulling all four Links by the Ear" by "SwanGirl24" on "DeviantArt")*

Red Link: OW!

Purple Link: Why us too!

Elina: Because I'm getting really tired of listening to all four of you arguing all the time! Look, whether you like it or not, we all have to work together if we want to save Zelda! I swear, having one brother was annoying enough! Now I have to deal with four!

Red Link: But if we're all the same person, why are our personalities so different?

Purple Link: Because we're each a part of my . . . ERRR . . . Link's whole personality. Green is focused and motivated. Blue is hotheaded and aggressive.

Blue Link: What!?

Purple Link: Red is innocent and optimistic.

Elina: That does make sense.

Red Link: Oh, I see! Vio is super cool.

Purple Link: I'd prefer calm and collected. Hmm?

*Just then, we saw two people coming towards us. Two women, one older & one younger*

Blue Link: That's . . .

Purple Link: Arcy . . .

Red Link: The Castle Cook!

Elina: And her daughter, Daphne!

Green Link: Hey! Arcy! Daphne!

*Green, Red, & Blue all ran towards them*

Elina: Guys, wait!

Purple Link: Idiots! Not all at once!

Green Link: Arcy! Daphne! Thank goodness! We got lost trying to find the . . .

*Suddenly, Arcy & Daphne got scared. Arcy pointed a stick at us as Daphne hid behind her*

Arcy: Stay back! You monsters! How did you find us all the way out here?

Elina:*in her mind* "All Tha way out here?"

Red Link: Monsters? That really hurts!

Green Link: Listen, Arcy. I drew the Four Sword and got split into four. Elina was there when if happened. But inside, we're all still the same Link!

Arcy: I used to think you two were good kids! But those things you did . . . You're both demons for sure!

Blue Link: What did do?

Purple Link: Wait! Do you mean a dark, shadowy "Link & Elina"?

Green Link & I both became shocked when we heard that description. We both then got close to Arcy & Green grabbed her wrists*

Green Link: The Castle! What happened at Hyrule Castle!?

Elina: Tell us, please!

*As soon as we got to the castle, I quickly went to my room & changed into a green hooded poncho over white short sleeved shirt, brown gloves, a orange skirt over black shorts, a brown belt, & brown boots. I put my bow & quiver of arrows on my back (look up "Elina - Adventure Clothes (Four Swords Adventure)" by "SwanGirl24" on "DeviantArt"). I also grabbed some of my medicinal herbs. I then met up with my "brothers" in what was left of a castle hallway. The whole castle was a wreck & there was no one around*

Green Link: All this . . .

Elina: . . . In one day.

*Blue slammed his fists on a rock*

Blue Link: NO!

*Vio shushed him & we all went to take a look around*

Red Link: It's awfully quiet.

Green Link: Arcy said there were monsters.

*Suddenly, we all heard a clanking sound coming towards us. We all hid & got our weapons ready. Suddenly, we saw something that made us feel shocked*

Elina:*in her mind* That's . . . Artura! Father's top Knight! Is that really him . . . Or . . .

*Suddenly, Artura swung his sword at us, but we all dodged*

Purple Link: Is it a monster in disguise?

*Just then, we were all surrounded by the Knights.

Red Link: No!

Purple Link: They are Knights of Hyrule!

Elina: Stop! Wake up!

*Suddenly, they all attacked us*

Blue Link: Nooooo!

*Purple, Red, & Blue fought back, but Green & I didn't draw our weapons*

Purple Link: What're you doing, Green? Elina? Fight or they'll cut you down!

Green Link: But . . . What if they're just being controlled. We know these guys! We trained together . . . Ate together!

Elina: We grew up with them! They're like our family!

*Blue sliced at a Knight that was about to attack us. He then grabbed Green by the collar*

Blue Link: Well, they're enemies now! Do either of you want to die!?

*Soon, they had us cornered. My brothers pushed us behind them.

Red Link: Uh-oh!

*Suddenly, they stopped moving. Just then, two familiar figures stepped out of the shadows*

Shadow Link: Well, well . . . Your concern is really quite pathetic.

Shadow Elina: Yes. These tin cans are just our toys.

Purple Link: You two!

*Their pointer fingers then glowed & the Knight's armor fell to the ground in empty heaps. Then they disappeared*

Shadow Link: You're late. We got tired of waiting.

Green Link: What have you done with Princess Zelda? Release the Maidens!

Shadow Elina: The Princess? Carrying her off was quite a pain. She's so annoyingly stubborn. Here.

*She threw Zelda's medallion at our feet*

Shadow Link: If she behaves, we won't mistreat her. But soon enough the darkness will win and she'll be one of us.

Green Link: Who are you two!? Vaati's demon minions?

Shadow Link: I told you, I'm the Hero . . . Link. I'm your shadow, your living reflection in the Dark World.

Shadow Elina: And I'm Elina's shadow. Her own living reflection in the Dark World.

Green Link: What!?

Elina: Our shadows!?

Shadow Link: The Wind Mage Vaati is awake and blowing dark energy into this world. When he is completely reborn, the Dark World will replace ours.

Shadow Elina: Then noble Princess Zelda of the Hyrulean Royal Family will be offered as a sacrifice.

Green Link: Never! Elina and I'll beat the darkness with the power of the Four Sword!

*The twin shadows were quiet for a minute*

Shadow Link: The Four Sword?

*Then they burst out laughing*

Shadow Elina: Unfortunately for you, darkness already taints that sword. It can't beat us. Swing it and we've already won!

*All five of us were shocked by this, but Blue refused to believe it*

Blue Link: That's ridiculous!

*Shadow Link swung his own version of the Four Sword & hit him, knocking him back*

Elina: Blue!

Blue: Ow . . .

*Suddenly, I heard my evil twin's voice behind me*

Shadow Elina: Worry about yourself, Goody-Goody! *I turned around & saw she had an arrow aimed at me. She shot it, but I dodged it, & I fired my own arrow ("Light Elina vs Shadow Elina" by "SwanGirl24" on "DeviantArt"), but she caught it & destroyed with her magic* You're going to have to do better than that!

Shadow Link: Now do you get it?

Green Link: Wait! What happened to the people in the castle and our Father?

Elina: Where is he!?

Shadow Link: Your Father? Oh. We sent them all to the Dark World as one big happy family.

*Green & I both froze*

Shadow Elina: He was such a weak man! In the end, he bowed down and begged for his life. Over and over he begged to be spared.

*Green got angry & charged at the twin shadows*

Green Link: YOU DIRTY LIARS!

*He swung his sword, but it went right through both of them as they stretched out. They then went back to their normal size as they hovered in the air*

Shadow Elina: Pathetic.

Shadow Link: I told you. It won't work against us.

Green Link: Blast it!

(Third-Person POV)

*Deep under the Castle, a figure was trapped in a crystal*

?: Five heroes . . . Have come to the castle. I must give them light.

*A light blue light appeared in their hands*

(Elina's POV)

*Right now, all five of us were getting tired fighting our evil selves*

Shadow Link: Five heroes trying to save a doomed world!

Blue Link: You cowards! Hiding in the shadows! Why don't you two make like ones and fade away! ** OW . . . Again.

*The two shadows then looked furious*

Shadow Link: Don't ever . . . MOCK THE SHADOWS! You think they're weak and insubstantial!

Shadow Elina: Do we look weak to you!? Can't you feel our strength!? Let us show you the raw power of darkness!

*Shadow Link then swung his sword, knocking us all back with a powerful wave. Shadow Elina then fired one of her arrows at us, knocking us back further*

Elina: Green!

*I ran to help him. He slowly got up & raised his sword*

Green Link: Ungh! Four Sword . . . Lend us strength! Just as in the legend, give us . . .

*Suddenly, our shadows stood in front of us*

Shadow Link: Don't you get it? It's just a sword!

Shadow Elina: And you two are nothing! We're the heroes now!

*Shadow Link raised his sword to finish us both off. Green & I both closed our eyes, waiting for the end. Suddenly, a fairy (look up "Fairy" by "SwanGirl24" on "DeviantArt") appeared in between us & flashed a bright light at the twin shadows. My evil self screamed in agony*

Shadow Link: S - Stop . . . Stop it!

*Then the fairy flew around us, making a bright blue light*

(Third-Person POV)

*Then they all disappeared. The evil twins sat in the darkness, trembling in pain*

Shadow Link: The Maidens? Even sealed they must have some power.

Shadow Elina: Tsk! How lucky for those fools!

*They then looked at their trembling hands*

Shadow Link & Elina: Light! I hate . . . The cursed . . . Light!

(Elina's POV)

*The five of us flew through a tunnel of light until we landed in a room I had never seen before*

Purple Link: Are we under the Castle?

?:*off-screen* Are you well, heroes?

*We all turned & saw something that made us surprised*

Elina: Th - The Blue Maiden! Trapped in crystal!

Blue Maiden: Link, Elina, something awful has begun. A terrible ordeal. Darkness once again covers Hyrule, just as in times of legend. The shadows that took us were Phantom Heroes created by the evil demon. Dark reflections of you both, but more powerful than any mere shadow. It took all my might to send even that small light through the barrier. Their power is not yet at it's peak. You must stop them before that happens.

Red Link: We're no match for them now? How can we ever beat them?

Blue Link: First we've gotta smash that barrier!

Blue Maiden: No, that's impossible right now. The Four Sword has been cursed by Vaati and lost it's power. You must re-energize it! Fill it with Force and the curse will be lifted. Then you can defeat the darkness.

*Green held up his sword*

Green Link: Life Force!

Elina: Blue Maiden, where is Princess Zelda?

Blue Maiden: I don't know. Weak as I am, I can't sense her clearly. But I can faintly sense her far away.

Blue Link: She's alive! That's enough for now.

*We all then headed towards the exit*

Green Link: Hold on, Blue Maiden.

Elina: We'll come back to help you soon.

Blue Maiden: Be careful, heroes. East . . . Travel toward the Eastern Sea. I sense another Maiden within the Eastern Temple.

*We left the Castle & started heading east. I then saw Green looking depressed. But I didn't blame him. I felt the exact same way*

Purple Link: Losing confidence?

Green Link: Yeah! How'd you know?

Purple Link: Because I am you.

Green Link: The same . . . We're all careless and overconfident. If Dark Link and Dark Elina are our shadows, we need to be better to beat them. Be more like . . .

Elina:*in her mind* Father . . .

Purple Link: Yeah. Right now I'd give the four of us a 50/50 chance.

Red Link: But if we restore the sword we'll get stronger. And if we can learn some teamwork . . .

Blue Link: I don't care what it takes, we're doin' it!

Elina: Well, somebody has to keep an eye on you guys!

Green Link: Then it's decided! We're four Links and one Elina, one team! Let's go!

*We all cheered*
