A few minutes later they walk through the front door of Max's and as she looked around she inwardly gasped because couldn't believe how beautiful everything was. The waitress smiled and said, "may I help you"?, Derek said, "we have a reservation under the name of Morgan", she glanced down at the book and said, "please follow me".
As they followed her through Derek leaned in and whispered, "have I told you how beautiful you are tonight"?, she said, "I believe you have handsome but a lady never tires of hearing how nice she looks" causing him to grin and say, "I have never seen a more beautiful woman than you sweetness".
When they stopped the waitress stood smiling as they took their seats, she then handed them their menus and said, "can I get you a drink while you're waiting"?, Derek looked at Penelope and she said, "red wine please", Derek said, "that sounds good, make that two please"
The waitress said, "I'll be right back with your drinks", they then turned their attention to the menus for a few seconds until the waitress came back with their wine. Derek said, "I'll have the porter house steak please, medium rare and a baked potato", the waitress wrote that down and then turned to look at Penelope who said, "I'll have the chicken alfredo please with a side salad"
After she finished writing their orders down she took their menus and said, "thank you, I'll be back in a few minutes with your food", they then watched as she turned around and walked away. Derek smiled at his date and said, "I missed you today sweetness", she said, "I missed you two, where were you by the way handsome"?, he said, "I was out of the office the biggest part of the day with pretty boy".
Penelope said, "ahhhh I see" and Derek said, "so what did you do today"?, she said, "B team kept me busy with searches for the case they were on". Derek nodded his head and said, "and now you're all mine" causing her to grin and say, "that I am sugar, that I am".
He stood up and then held out his hand and said, "would you like to dance"?, she slid her hand in his and said, "I'd love too handsome" as she got up out of her seat. Derek intertwined their fingers and led her to the center of the dance floor and then pulled her lovingly into his arms as the music started
His hand slid down her back and she smiled up at him and said, "thank you for tonight, everything is so beautiful here" and Derek said, "I wanted our first date here in Virginia to be special, well I want all of our dates to be special but" and she silenced him by raising her head and pressing her lips against his in a kiss.
When they pulled apart he said, "nice way to shut me up", she giggled and said, "I do what I can" causing him to laugh and nod his head yes in agreement. They danced through a couple of songs before heading back to their table to wait on their food to arrive and as they sat down he wished they had kept dancing because he loved having her in his arms because that is where he felt she belonged.
It was only a few minutes before their food was delivered, they laughed, ate and talked before returning to the dance floor again to share another dance and probably a few stolen kisses as well. Sure enough Derek's lips descended on hers and she wrapped her arms around him and held him close as she deepened the kiss
They pulled apart and he said, "baby girl I" and she said, "Derek, take me back to your place and make me yours in every way", he said, "are you sure that's what you want, I don't want to rush you into something that you're not ready for".
She smiled and said, "trust me my vision I am ready for this, I want you, I want you to spend the night making love to me", he brushed his lips against hers and then smiled as he said, "well then let's get that bill paid and get out of here", she grinned and nodded her head and said, "sounds like a plan" as they quickly paid for their meal and headed toward the exit.
