Cecily: Something's wrong with Tanna

Yeah, and he thinks he sees what it is. They weren't really being secretive about it

Northern Academy won the Playoffs against Southern Academy. They were 6 points down. The score was 21 - 17. One touchdown would give them the win. With only seconds left on the clock, Tommy made the play.

He won the game for everyone. Northern Academy won the play-offs.

The crowd erupted into roars and hugs and cheers. His teammates all ran to him, happy and chanting his name before lifting him into the air on their shoulders.

"Tommy! Tommy! Tommy!"

Unfortunately Cecily wasn't able to make it with her father in the hospital and her mother there with him. Some had to watch over the house. He promised her he'd score the biggest touchdown of the game and win it for her. Zatanna came to record the big win. She even threw him a big thumbs up to let him know she got the footage. Now he's glad he had something to show when he gets back to her house.

Then came the after party.

Why did he have to bring her?

The red head was latched onto his arm like a second skin as the raven laughed and talked with a group of guys in front of him. She looked so out of place, but that was probably because he was so used to seeing someone else on his arm.

Zatanna has never been a jealous person for as long as he's known her, but peer pressure can be a bitch. The whole school knew that she had been dating Dick Grayson; so to see him with another girl while his old girl was in the same room with them…

Everyone was curious, and while they were too scared to ask, they weren't scared enough to not gossip.

Time for a rescue.

Tommy quickly said goodbye to his friends, brushing off their attempts to make him stay by claiming he was tired and just wanted to return home to his girlfriend. He cut through the crowds towards Zatanna, who was standing in a far corner, talking to one of the cheerleaders he thinks. However she didn't look as comfortable in the conversation as the cheerleader did. He caught her attention with the jiggling of his keys.

"Wanna ride?"

Her smile was grateful, and she quickly left the conversation and the prodding cheerleader behind. He wrapped his varsity jacket around her and his arm to scare away anyone who tried to walk up to them. He's pretty sure he saw Dick watch them as they walked out.

"Are you okay?" Tommy asked a few minutes into the car ride. She seemed more relaxed now, but he still wanted to ask.

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. It's just-"

"You have to get used to it," he finished for her.

"Yeah. It's weird to see them dating," she admitted. "The gossip doesn't help either."

"Wasn't she the one who had a crush on him while you two were dating? They seemed to have gotten together awful quickly."

"Barbara didn't mean anything by it. She's not like that."

"Whatever you say," he said as he pulled into his girlfriend's driveway. Cecily standing on the porch waiting for them. She ran towards them when he turned the engine off. She immediately went over to her best friend's side and wrapped her in a hug.

"The popcorn is already popped and a spare set of pajamas has your name on it in my bedroom."

"Haha. Thanks, Cily." She went inside and Cecily went to Tommy.

"How was she?"

"Sad, but nothing a movie and some snacks can't fix."

"You're a good boyfriend." She reached up and kissed him on the cheek.

"Only good? Guess I have to bring up my a-game."

She laughed. "Shut up and go inside you big dork. Let's let your win speak for you."
