Another Journey

Prompt: Across Worlds

Over the years of her existence, Naminé was forced into a life of confinement. Whether it was Castle Oblivion, the Twilight Town mansion, and Kairi's heart, she had little chance to travel the stars and see new words. The best she could manage was to hear the stories of others, or pouring over old memories.

Of course, Roxas was determined to change that. When everything had settled down, he asked around to try and find some way for her to travel across the stars. To have the chance to see so many worlds. Fortunately, Sora was kind enough to persuade Donald and Goofy to lend them their gummi ship for their trips. A few pointers here and there, and Roxas was ready to pilot the ship on a trip across the stars with Naminé.

World upon world they visited, Naminé's eyes lighting up as she saw new places and people for the first time. And every time, Roxas' couldn't help but smile. The joy she had in these new experiences was infectious, and he was more than glad to share in it with her.

As they took off from their latest world, Roxas made sure to keep the ship at a more leisurely pace. Not only to ensure the borrowed vessel suffered no damages, but to give Naminé time for her post world tradition. Glancing back at her as she scribbled away with crayon on her notebook, he called out, "How is it coming along?"

She gave a few strokes to the page before wiping away the dust with a smile. "Actually, I just finished." Naminé nodded at the finished product and turned the page as she set the notebook aside. "I'm really glad you decided to come with me on the trip."

Something in the tone gave him pause, as if leading into some kind of question or request. Roxas slowed the ship to a stop and looked back to Naminé with a gentle smile. "Hey, there's no way I'd pass up spending more time with you."

Naminé began to chuckle and stood up from her seat, tilting her head as she asked, "Even if it's seeing worlds you've already been to?" A slight lift in her tone, but not quite insincere.

Scratching the back of his head, Roxas turned the captain's chair to fully face her. "I went to worlds on missions. I didn't have much of a choice of where to go or who to talk to." That was partially why he was so eager to go along with this. To make up for lost time, experiencing the worlds in a way all his own. Realizing Naminé was walking closer to him, Roxas began to grin. "Besides, seeing everything with you has been the best part of all this."

Every sight Naminé wanted to see, all the things she saw and asked about. It helped to guide the trip and give Roxas a place to start. And in turn, he was willing to lead the way to uncharted sights, places she marveled at as they saw them together. The two of them helping to bring out the best in this journey across the stars. Though right now he was at a loss of what she wanted.

Naminé folded her hands behind her back as she now stood next to Roxas' seat. "Really? What about this?"

As she leaned forward and her lips met his, Roxas understood very clearly what she wanted. A quiet moan rising from his throat, he brought his hand up to caress her cheek. For a brief moment, the two separated lips from one another and Naminé whispered, "Or perhaps this?"

She brought her arms around Roxas' own and reached for his back. Naminé began to pull herself closer to him as the two began to embrace. Feeling the warmth of her sitting so close, Roxas began to chuckle, "Honestly, this is the best part of being with you."

Naminé stroked his cheek, leaning closer as she murmured, "Simple little moments where we know…"

"We're never alone."

Neither of them were sure how long they spent sitting together, kissing under the light of the stars. A brief unexpected stop on their trip across the stars. But even then they knew, it wouldn't be the last time.

There were still so many worlds to see, after all.
