I wake up in the morning to the sunrise like usual. I start my morning routine of stretching, and getting ready before my morning run. As I leave the apartment I can't help but smile at the beautiful morning.
I break out into a sprint soon after leaving, some shop owners smile at my increasingly farmiliar blur as I dodge past the few civilians in the street weaving through them with ease. I jump over a cart and around a few wagons of supplies, the grin never leaving my face. I wonder what my morning run will be like when I get even faster?
I make it to the Akimichi compound and record time actually bending over on my hands and knees to catch my breath in front of Yataka's stand.

I look at the stand a little confused. I don't see Yataka here and he is ALWAYS here to set up his stand. Is he sick or something? A tinge of worry fills me and my mind instantly goes to Hazuki and Izumi. I shake my head getting rid of those thoughts. I don't need to start my day thinking like that.
"Um… the stand isn't open yet." A hesitant voice tells me and I snap my head towards the source. The source is a boy, probably around 6 oldest 7. He has spiky light brown hair and a round face with a pink swirl on each cheek. His eyes are a dark brown and he is wearing a sweater the top part is light green and the bottom a dark green. I realize he looks a lot like Yataka.
"I can see that, I was just wondering where Yataka-san is." I huff crossing my arms and giving the boy an inquisitive look as though I can stare the answers out of him. He shifts uncomfortably one foot to the other in response.
"O-ojisan went to get some… some eggs… he told me to watch the stand." The boy says and my scrutinizing gaze softens. The only reason Yataka would be getting eggs is if he is getting them for Ami and I since he can get good deals. Plus the kid just said that Yataka is his uncle so… I should be nice right?
"Oh… ok. I usually help set up the stand… so, need some help?" I ask scratching the side of my cheek and the boy blinks once and then nods. I help him move some of the larger crates of food to where Yataka likes it. Sometimes he looks at me and quickly looks away. I notice he has a bag of chip he eats form time to time to. Minutes tick by and we finishing setting up the stand but Yataka is nowhere in sight. I close my eyes and sense around for Yataka's chakra signature finding it a few blocks away I think… I'm tempted to just go get him.
"I'm Sayori." I introduce myself holding out my hand to the boy who is currently munching on chips.
"Choji…" The boy says shaking my hand, my eyes widen and I freeze. You have got to be kidding me! Is the universe trying to push me deeper into the plot or something? "Choji Akimichi." The boy then repeats and it breaks me from my stupor and I smile at him.
"Nice to meet you Choji-san." I said offering a genuine smile, the boy blushed and I almost laughed. Apparently I need to smile more often if that's the reaction I get.
"Want one?" He asked motioning towards his bag I nodded taking a chip and eating my mind keeping track of Yataka who was finally making his way back to the stand.
"Those are good!" I exclaimed eating my first potato chip in this life.
"I know and they come in so many flavours!" Choji exclaimed and began to tell me about all his favorite chips. I indulge him listening and adding my opinion from time to time.
"Hey, chibi! I see you met Choji-kun." Yataka said as he came into view. His smile wide and his eyes knowing and it suddenly hit me. This was a set up, a play date. I glared furiously at the man but said nothing as I bought the eggs and rushed home waving back at the two Akimichis.
Something told me this wouldn't be the last time I saw or spent time with Choji.
POV Choza Akimichi
I watched and waited as ojisan had instructed. My father's brother was a simple man, but he apparently did actually have some idea what he was doing if Choji's wide smile was any indication.
I had been about to pull Choji out thinking this mysterious 'Sayori' wouldn't actually be coming. Perhaps Ojisan had finally lost it. Sage knows he wouldn't be the first ninja as sad a truth as that is. Then at the last moment the kid appeared, my first thought… the girl was FAST. My second thought was she some sort of Yamanaka?
"So… how'd it go?" Yataka asks after I send Choji home to get ready for the academy. My uncle having the most knowing cocky glint in his eye.
"They hit it off." I admit to the old man whose smile widens.
"I knew they would. Sayori-chan is a good kid, she and Choji will be good for each other." Yataka says with a level of certainty that surprises me.
"Was it really necessary to go so far away?" I ask as he straightens out a few things in his stance.
"Chibi's a sensor Choza-kun, thought she might be a Yamanaka when I first met her but she is not." He says as thoughts sensing my question. I had to admit Yamanaka was my first thought too when I saw her, blond hair and blue eyes was after all a bit of a rarity in the land of fire. However her hair was slightly different… and her eyes… well I've never seen eyes like that before.
"You think she's someone to keep an eye on?" I ask and the lightness melts form my uncles face, his shoulders straighten and he looks me dead in the eye.
"Most definitely." Is all he says but the words are heavy in the air.
