Angelic Prince
Novak Palace
Cas walked further into the palace as shadows almost seemed to dance around him.
"Hello!" He called. He knew that Baby had brought him for a reason, but he had not clue as to what that could be. Cas found himself in what seemed to be a banquet hall with destroyed plates scattered over the floor. He bent down and picked up half of one when a shooting pain went through his skull and he dropped the plate, the smash of the broken China echoing in the room.
He was tiny. Little legs running down stairs when he bumped into another person.
"I'm sorry" the childish voice said as the person bent down to pick up the broken plate and scattered food.
"That's alright, your highness, it was just an accident" said the person.
Cas blinked the black spots out of his vision as the pain numbed and his brain blocked the memory once again. Baby had wandered down the room to where a door once stood and when Cas approached the door, he could see a dusty ball room. Dried blood seemed to cover some of the floor although it looked like there had been an attempt to clean it up.
Cas could just picture the people dancing, almost glowing with happiness. The laughter as people talked with one another. He smiled as he almost seemed to dance around the room, feet moving in ways that he did not know that he knew. Baby barked loudly and Cas stopped. He realised that he had someone made into the centre of the room. Baby quickly ran up to him and ran around him a couple of times before sitting down.
"I guess I should just wait here then" Cas sighed, avoiding looking at the blood stains which made his stomach make uncomfortable.
"What do you mean there is someone in the palace?" Dean asked after Raphael returned.
"My mother saw him first. He's human but he walks in with an impala" Raphael informed the hunters. Dean rolled his eyes and looked at his younger brother.
"Well then, better go and see the intruder" said Dean, groaning as he stood from the table full of Castiel research and Sam nodded, also standing up as they followed Raphael to one of the old ball rooms that fill the palace.
Dean and Sam paused when they hid by the door of the ballroom and they could a man standing as though he were in a trance looking at a random portrait on the wall.
Dean smirked as he left the hidden shelter and marched into the dusty room.
"Hey!" he shouted, successfully startling the man into moving – the dust that he disturbed almost appearing like wings as he turned quickly to look at the Winchester brothers.
"What are you doing in here?" Dean asked, he knew that Sam was following behind him. The man, clearly disturbed, starting to run up the stairs that filled up the other end of the hall.
Dean started to give chase, "Hey!, Stop! Wait!"
The man stops and turns, the light from a broken window shining on the stranger as well as a picture of the royal brothers. Dean's steps stuttered as he stared at the human in front of him.
"How did you get in here?" Sam asked, a little breathless.
Cas frowned at the two men standing in front of him.
"I'm sorry" said Cas, "I just followed the Impala. She lead me here. I didn't know other people would be here."
The older of the two looked down at the Impala and he smiled.
"Baby!" The Impala got excited and proceeded to jump all over the boys in front of him as though they knew who he was.
"Wait" the younger of the two said, "she found you and brought you here?"
"I-" Cas stuttered, "Yes. I asked for a sign because my orphanage told me to go one way, Baby found me and brought me here."
"Orphanage?" the older asked, petting the Impala.
"Yes" said Cas, "my name is Cas, I've been in a orphanage since I was young."
"Excuse us" the younger man said, grabbing what could only be his older brother and dragging him away. Both men frowned when Baby sat back down at Cas' feet.
"Dean" said Sam, "dad sent Baby to find Prince Castiel."
"Yeah, I remember."
"So, does that mean that the rumours about Castiel being disguised as a human are true?" Sam asked. Dean frowned.
"Maybe" said Dean, "I don't believe it though." Sam bite his lip and he looked to where Cas stood.
"I can seem some resemblance" Sam admitted but Dean made a weird noise.
"If he were the Prince, he would have noticed his dead family circling them as they currently are" said Dean. Sure enough, the ghosts of the dead members of the royal family (Charlies, Rebecca, Michael and Raphael) were circiling Castiel making comments about his appearance and the weird resemblance that he had to the youngest royal but were also discussing how they felt about how it could not be him because Cas was not reacting to them in anyway whatsoever.
"Dean" Sam said, "it probably isn't the prince but Dad did send Baby out to hunt, she brought him to us so maybe we should try and get Cas to Gabriel on the off chance that he is or could be connected to the only person who can save us."
Dean nodded and the two brothers made their way back to Cas. The ghosts stood back, allowing the Winchesters to figure out their next steps.
"So Cas" said Dean, "I'm Dean Winchesters, and this is my little brother Sammy."
"Sam" Sam interrupted, "the Impala who found you and brought you to us is bonded to our father.
"Oh, I would give her back to you but she won't leave me alone" said Cas.
"No, she was given a job to find an angel that we have been looking for. She found you so we were wondering if it would be okay for us to travel to our father?" Sam asked.
Cas frowned. Dean swore he saw a light flicker across his eyes before Cas frowned.
"Ok" he said, almost dreamily, "we can return Baby to your father. Is it far?"
Sam and Dean frowned while the royals whispered to one another. Dean felt that he had seen something in Cas' eyes.
