009: Loid Forger and James Bond Meets A Great Detective.

Loid Forger thinks James Bond is an idiot. James Bond thinks Loid Forger is a bastard. Agent 47 who is disguised as a bartender has added rat poison to both their drinks. He is planning to take them out in the next five minutes in an empty bathroom. However:

"You are Lex Luthor, right?"

Agent 47 turns and he sees Kogoro Mouri. He is not a threat. Diana informs him as such. But he is a famous detective. He has to be careful.

"You are mistaken."

Kogoro Mouri is smoking a cigarette. He is also drunk. "Nah," he slurs. "You are bald. You are Lex Luthor. And I want to tell you a secret. Here, come closer." He beckons and whispers conspiratorially before looking from side to side.

Agent 47 thinks his cover his blown.

Loid Forger and James Bond are observing him rather closely. They know he is not Lex Luthor. But they are more than a bit suspicious. For the first time he thinks his handler has made a mistake.

Kogoro Mouri is a threat.

"I am not Lex Luthor." Agent 47 replies. "But I did see him talking to Mr. Hikigaya in the other side of the room."

Mentioning Mr. Hikigaya has the needed effect. James Bond sweeps a glance behind him. Loid Forger is much more subtle. But neither of them takes a sip from their respective drinks.

Agent 47 blames Kogoro Mouri, the Sleeping Sleuth.

He is tasking his patience. "Huh? You're not Lex Luthor." Kogoro Mouri looks dejected. He finishes the rest of his drink in a couple of gulps and sighs. "But I wanted to tell him a secret. It's kinda important." He smiles in a drunken stupor and belches loudly.

"What's the secret?" James Bond asks.

Kogoro Mouri looks at him with suspicion. "This information is worth a million dollars." He looks unimpressed by his clothes and blonde hair. "Are you rich?" he asks.

Before James Bond can lie, Loid Forger says in a pleasant manner with a fake smile. "How about I buy you a drink. As a small gesture of gratitude for your service to justice. We will raise a toast for your good health and fortune."

Kogoro Mouri looks pleased. "Now that's a great idea." He turns to the bar and looks a bit confused. He blinks and shakes his head. "Where did Lex Luthor, the bartender go?"

James Bond and Loid Forger drop their calm and collected façade for a minute. They resume their role as Agent Twilight of WISE and Special Agent 007 of MI6. Ready to act. Ready to kill. But the bald man they came to suspect as Agent 47, the infamous hitman has long since vanished into the sea of people attending Hikigaya's exclusive party.

Loid Forger returns back to his cover as a normal doctor. "Let's get you that drink I promised, Mouri-san."

"Hey! I almost forgot about it." Kogoro Mouri is delighted. "Thanks!"

James Bond empties the content of his martini glass in a potted plant. He had seen Loid Forger do the same a bit earlier before resuming his talk with the drunkard. Kogoro Mouri is supposed to be a great detective. Bond has his doubts. But in their profession looks can be rather deceiving. "What's the secret you were going on about?" He tries once more.

Bond is not really interested. However, this time around Kogoro Mouri is rather forthcoming. "A reporter asked me a couple of questions. I had a couple of drinks, so I don't remember what I said exactly. But I must have made an impression because he took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes in total disbelief. And in that small fraction of a second, I looked at the reporter and he looked exactly like Superman. So," He draws out. "Either Superman has a twin or Clark Kent is Superman."

Loid Forger and James Bond share a look.

He's drunk, the two agents think.

A/N: Many of you suggested Loid Forger. Don't worry I will get to Anya and Yor too. Also, yeah, many of you wanted the Makishima Shogo and L chapter. But, there's no way I can write that chapter without it getting a bit serious. But, I get the feeling a majority of readers want to keep this fic light and simple and funny. Now I can do that with Makishima Shogo, but I will warn you, he might seem a bit out of character. But it will be fun. So, tell me what to do.

How should the L and Makishima Shogo chapter be written?

Option 1: Funny and Light.

Option 2: Serious.
