*POV Izuku*
I was terrified. From my time at the orphanage I was used to getting beaten, bullied, and even forgotten. This however was a new high. I woke up this morning and was told to clean the closet. I went and cleaned it as fast as I could before I felt something hard hit my head. I woke up and realized I had been put in a straight jacket and it was tighter than anything which just being tight on my body made me feel uncomfortable. To make matters worse I was in a muzzle of sorts that not only was almost form fitting but also was latched to my tongue and mouth preventing me from making any sound with my mouth or throat. There was also a bit that plugged up my nose and prevented me from breathing properly. I was also tied to a chair and couldn't move properly. After a while I got uneasy and started to try to move, making some sound. I finally broke down and had a panic attack from being in a dark room and not being able to do anything. I started moving around frantically as I couldn't escape from the constricting stuff that was put on me. I then heard a voice outside the room and started to make more noise.
HElp! Please! I thought, trying to get them to notice me.
The door opened and a woman taller than Ms. Yokan stood there.
"Just what I told you, a useless pet," Ms. Yokan said.
The woman looked at me with a pained expression before turning to anger.
"You think it's alright to keep a kid in a closet and call them a pet?" the woman asked.
"It's not even a real person. It has no quirk," Ms. Yokan said.
"You are worse than most villains I fight," the woman said as a purple mist emerged from her body and Ms. Yokan fell to the ground. "Hello, I'm Midnight and I'm going to help you. Alright?" she said, kneeling in front of me.
I looked at her and felt not only happiness but hope. I then felt everything get heavy and I felt as darkness took me.
"Damn Deku, Auntie got herself killed in a villain accident because of you," Bakugou growled
"Whoever put that he had a locked quirk was stupid, just by looking at his x-ray I can tell he's quirkless, a failure to society," the plump doctor Ms. Yokan took me to said.
"Midoriya, stop starting fights with Bakugou and trying to ruin his chance at UA. We all know he's getting in," the teacher said.
"You're lucky that we keep you for the paycheck to deal with you," Ms. Yokan said, beating me.
"Aha," I gasped as I woke up.
I looked around and noticed I was in a hospital room. I hit the button calling the nurses. A few moments later an old woman walked in.
"Hello there dearie. Don't try to talk, take a drink first," she said, handing me a glass of water.
I took it and took a small sip of water before taking a bigger one. "W-where am I?" I asked, my throat scratchy.
"You're in a hospital. Midnight found you locked in a closet with a straight jacket tightened to the point that it was damaging you and a muzzle that slightly damaged your mouth and lips. You collapsed from dehydration, lack of food, lack of energy, blood loss, and a bunch of other things. I'm amazed that you're alive with how much you had wrong with you, I could barely use my quirk on you safely," she said.
"Y-you're R-recovery G-Girl," I stuttered.
"Yes, after you collapsed Midnight asked Nezu to send us all to help. The orphanage is shut down at the moment and I'm waiting for your new guardian to show up," she said.
"G-guardian?" I asked, confused.
"That would be me," a voice said. I looked up to see Midnight in different clothes from her costume and what wore when she met saved me.
"W-why d-did y-you help me?" I asked.
"I'm a hero and when I saw how they were treating you I knew I had to act. What she said about you is not how someone should talk about a human, let alone a child. I do have to ask, are you really quirkless?" Midnight asked.
"I-I don't know. B-before my m-mother got k-killed we w-went to a d-doctor a-and they said I-I had a l-locked q-quirk. But Ms. Yokan t-took me t-to a d-different o-one who s-said I w-was q-quirkless," I stuttered.
"What tests did the second doctor do?" Recovery Girl asked.
"A f-foot x-ray."
"That's it?!" she yelled. "I'll have his license," she growled. "The x-ray test has been proven false with those whose quirks are locked. I'm going to redo all the tests," she muttered, walking out of the room.
"W-why are y-you all d-doing t-this for m-me? I-I'm just a w-worthless, u-useless, w-waste of space. M-my m-m-mother g-got h-herself k-killed s-so she d-didn't h-have to d-deal w-with me. I-I'm just a D-Deku," I stuttered, holding tears back.
"You are not worthless and you are not a waste of space. Everyone is worth something. What do you mean your mother got herself killed?" Midnight asked.
"T-the T-Tokyo Gate B-Bridge."
"You were there. I've read the reports, there was only one survivor other than the heroes and they were saved three days after the beginning of the attack. That was you?" she asked, looking at me with sadness in her eyes.
"Y-yeah."
"Your mother didn't get herself killed. There was no way for anyone to survive. They still are questioning how you survived. It was not your fault," Midnight said.
"A-aright wrong," I said.
"So, do you know what's next?"
"I-I'll be d-dropped off at a-another o-orphanage," I stuttered.
"Not quite, you will be moving in with me and I'll help look after you," she said lied.
"A-are y-you a-adopting m-me?" I asked.
"Not quite, I'm going to be a foster parent for you," she corrected.
"O-of course," I said.
"So, once everything is cleared up you will be moving into my apartment. I do need to ask, are you allergic to anything? We couldn't find anything, but your medical records are strange so we thought to ask," she said.
"N-not that I k-know of."
"Alright, well I have a cat at home and I think she will adore you." I flinched slightly at the word cat. "What's wrong?"
"Th-the others a-at the o-orphanage, th-they m-made me w-walk around a-and m-meow l-like a c-cat b-because m-my long h-hair w-was f-fluffy l-like a c-cat's," I stuttered, stroking my hair that was down to the middle of my back.
"Well, now you will be the one petting a real cat. You don't have to worry about anything like that happening again, and if anyone does give you crap or do something that you don't want to you can just tell me and I'll make sure that they get what they deserve," she explained lied.
"S-sure."
"Alright, let's get these tests started," Recovery Girl said, walking back in.
We did a bunch of tests and they concluded that I did have a locked quirk. After that I was brought abducted by Midnight to what would be my new home hell.
AN-
So, chapter two, yeah Izuku's life hasn't been the greatest but it's looking up, right? This will get a little darker next chapter and then we get better, slowly but we will. Also the striked out words are Izuku's mind messing with his perception of things. The next chapter will be out as fast as I can write it as I love this fic already.
