Dane sat on his bed listening to his parents argue over the same repetitive thing. He was tired of it! He was tired of everything! He was tired of being picked on! He was tired of being bullied! He was tired of life! He was tired of everything! So Dane could only look to one option...suicide. Yes, suicide! Since everything was going downhill, Dane felt trapped! There was no escape! The only escape was...yep you guessed it! Dane literally just sat there staring at the wall for about a minute until he decided to pull out his gun from his drawer. He put the gun to his head and made his final thought process. 'i quit! I'm done! I just can't take it anymore! I'm so sick of all this! I'm sick of Bradley, Bernard all the bullies! I'm sick of my parents arguing all the time! I'm sick of everything! So what better way to end things than to just pull the trigger!' he thought to himself. Dane closed his eyes and counted. '10...9...8...7...6...5' When he got to 5, tears shed from his eyes. He was ready to commit suicide but now that he was about to actually do it, his anxiety kicked in. Dane's heart raced, his hand shook and his blood rushed all over his body! His body was going through a silent panic! This was the end of him and his body knew it! But anyway, Dane continued. '5...4...3...' He took a deep breath. '2...1.' He found the courage to finally pull the trigger. This was the end of his misery. He was going to put himself out of his own misery. But to Dane's disappointment, nothing happened. There were no bullets. That was a major letdown for him. But the funny thing about that was even though his suicide attempt didn't go as planned, he felt as if something gave him the strength to live on despite everything that was going on in his life. So Dane put the gun down on his bed, stared at it for a good 10 seconds, then finally placed it back in his drawer. And as soon as Dane did that, he managed to encourage himself. "You will not be afraid...you will not be afraid...when the time comes, you will not be afraid...I'm not afraid." That last sentence he told himself sounded very familiar to him. He remembered a song actually titled that. He grabbed his cell phone off his nightstand and youtube that song and played it.

It was called "Not Afraid" by Eminem.

Dane listened to the lyrics and it hit home. He laid down on his bed and let the song play. The song seemed to describe everything he was going through. Dane was totally feeling the song. It actually touched his heart and made him feel empowered. It has been a tough ride for him! Dane and his friends would walk this road together through the storm in whatever weather, cold or warm. So now he wasn't afraid to take a stand!
