The other girls looked over at Edith, whispering. At least they weren't taunting this time. Only a few minutes until her sister was done with her exam. She'd wait.

"Fine, I'll ask her. But only because of that!" one girl hissed.

The girl walked over and sat down next to her, smiling insincerely.

"Edith, several of us are having dinner at my house tonight, would you like to join us?"

"Why?"

"What do you mean?" the girl replied.

"Why do you want to invite me?"

The girl looked over at her friends in a panic.

"I thought so," Edith sighed.
