I know I promised I wouldn't take too long again, so I apologise. I know this is also very short, but I'll be posting another chapter today. What, two in one day? I know, shocking isn't it. But I decided to break the chapter up to build the suspense. Please forgive me for the wait.
Cade strode up to his fathers study, gave the slightest knock and let himself inside. As he turned from the door he saw Marvolo stood near his many shelves of books, with one open in his hand. He turned to look at Cade, confusion written all over his face.
"Caduceus, you're early. I know that you planned to have breakfast at home this morning, everything okay?" Marvolo queried. Confusion only continued to grow as he observed Cade gracefully throw himself into an armchair by the fireplace. He reshelved the book he was holding and went to sit opposite his Heir. "I know we don't always see eye to eye on things, but if you need help, then I need to know what is troubling you. Unless it's of the emotional aspect, then I'm afraid that may be Lucius' department."
Cade chuckled lowly at his fathers attempt at humour. "I dare say you would be right, Father, but no need to worry as that isn't why I'm here." He sighed and turned to face Marvolo. "The twins have been keeping an eye on the Weasley house for me, and while on my way here they've requested an urgent meeting. Which worries me slightly, as they knew I was coming over to discuss things with you today, so they knew not to interrupt unless they found something serious."
Marvolo hummed in thought, recalling his past encounters with the twins. "Yes, I can see why you would be worried. The twins are not ones to disobey. Am I right in thinking you have told them to come here, yes?"
"Yes Father, it seemed the most logical. We may require your help."
"Then all we can do is wait for your father to show them in." Marvolo replied.
Lucius was reading through some correspondences when he felt a shift in the wards that signalled someone requesting access through the floo. He gathered the letters into a pile and shut them in a drawer of his desk, auto-locking charms built in of course. Couldn't let just anyone have access to your private stuff. Once done, he stood and left his office to the parlour, wondering who could be wanting to visit on Saturday morning.
Upon entering the parlour, he made his way over to the floo, seeing the small flames flash green every few seconds. Lucius placed his hand against the ornate mantle and pushed a tiny bit of his magic into the black marble. He felt two magical signatures that felt familiar and almost like echoes of each other. Devil Twins then. Lucius felt along his connection to the wards and allowed them entry, then stepped back to avoid being flattened when they exit the fireplace. He didn't have to wait long before they came rushing out.
Lucius waited for them to centre themselves before gesturing that they follow him. "Are you here to see your brother or my husband?" he quizzed. The heavy sigh from behind him told him much more than words possibly could.
"We have some urgent information to discuss with Cade and our Lord, it's time sensitive."
Lucius hummed and motioned the twins to follow him as he left the parlour, heading towards the lower right wing of the manor, where private studies and multiple family entertaining rooms were located. Lucius walked as fast as he could without actually running, as it was unbecoming for a Lord to run. Once at the correct office, he rapped on the door with his knuckle just once before entering.
Marvolo and Cade both looked up towards the door from the armchairs they were occupying. Once all three of them had entered the study, Lucius set to warding the door to prevent eavesdropping, even from the house elves. Before even sitting down, one of the twins pulled some parchment out from his jacket pocket and handed it to Cade.
As soon Cade read the first line on the parchment he swore and passed the papers straight to his father. "We'll definitely need your advice Father."
