Continued from last chapter-

Taylor told Joe she'd come over to his place after work tonight so they could finish the conversation from earlier. He was looking forward to clearing the air but also worried about how it was going to go.

"Hey." They both said at the door.

"How was the rest of your day?" He asked and went in for a quick hug.

"Fine, you?"

"Okay. I went to the gym, laundry mat, nothing else really." He said as he let go from the hug.

"Nice." Now it was awkward, the silence.

"So let's just jump right into it I guess." He suggested and headed to the couch to sit down. Taylor put her purse and things down before joining him. He could tell she was nervous and uneasy. So he grabbed her hand.

"Relax." He told her, the sweat of her palms proved she was nervous. Which there was no reason for. They were just talking about things. He had no intention of breaking up with her or something if she wouldn't want to move in together yet. He wasn't a jackass.

"I don't know why I've just been so nervous about what your gonna say." She said.

"I'm not going to force you into anything, you know that right?"

"Yeah."

"Good. I just thought it would be easier to move in together rather back and forth to both our places. I mean…do you remember the last time we didn't spend the night together?" He asked with a laugh.

"Uh no haha." She laughed.

"My point exactly." He told her and then waited to hear what she had to say.

"I understand what you mean, I guess this is all just a lot. I never had a guy willing to deal with everything I bring to the table, let alone this quickly." She said.

"You've never had someone who actually loves and cares for you then."

"I guess." She shrugged.

"No you don't guess. It's the truth, I can't believe you've been treated as badly as you have. I mean no wonder your scared to take the next step in this relationship. You've been broke and beaten in the past too many times." He said with frustration.

"Literally…" she rolled her eyes.

"I didn't mean it to sound so harsh I'm sorry."

"No it's true. I've never really let my walls down, they've never asked me too, and I've never felt like they cared to know." She shook her head.

"Because you've dated boys, all looking for one thing. A real man commits, and builds a life with the women he loves. We fight for you." Joe professed, he brought tears to his own eyes along with hers. She wiped hers away quickly.

"That's what I want. I want the guy I marry to fight for me and move heaven and earth to make me happy. That sounds so bratty. I can't believe I just said that." She put her forehead in her hands.

"Why? That's how it should be."

"No. It sounds too bold." She shook her head.

"I don't think that at all. You shouldn't settle for anything less. I want to be that for you."

"You already have been."

"But let me take care of you. I know you don't need me to, but let me in. Let me love you how you deserve to be loved." He told her. She looked at the emotion in his face, he was legit.

"Are you sure?" She told him with a shake in her voice. He gripped her hand a little tighter and they rested there heads together.

"Positive." He told her, she smiled and then they kissed for a couple seconds.

"I can be a handful." She raised her eyebrows at him.

"I got two hands." He smirked.

"I love you." Taylor said with a smile.

"I love you too."

"Leaves one more question…" she sat up more.

"What's that?"

"Who's apartment are we moving into?" She asked growing a smile. He smiled back at her and kissed her again, he was excited.

——

A couple days later

Joe and Taylor were headed to Franks for family dinner. Taylor was excited to hear what Jamie and Eddie were having.

"Wait you have to pick another thing if you win our bet." Taylor said.

"What?"

"Your thing was moving in together, but beings were already going to do that…" she started.

"Oh right! Okay so if it's a boy, how bout you have to make the first meal for us-"

"Boring." She interrupted

"I didn't finish, you have to cook the first meal for us…in nothing but an apron."

"Oh you're on. Remember if I win those handcuffs of yours are coming home with you." She flirted and playfully hit him.

"Deal." He smiled back.

——

After dinner everyone was arguing over what they thought the gender of the baby was while Jamie helped Eddie serve the cupcakes.

"No it's definitely a boy. I refuse to lose a bet." Joe said.

"You're making bets over your unborn cousins reproductive organs!?" Eddie joked with her hand over her belly.

"Maybe." Joe shrugged. Everyone laughed and wondered what the bet was.

"Let's here it!" Sean asked.

"Ha!" Taylor couldn't help but turn hysterical at the awkwardness she and Joe felt. Little did they know they were asking about their kinky sex life. Joes face blushed with a smile when he made eye contact with her.

"Pretty sure we don't wanna know." Jamie guessed when he saw the exchange.

"You don't." Joe shook her head and rubbed face uncomfortably. It was okay though, everyone laughed and dropped it, Eddie started talking.

"Alright so everyone gets a cupcake, on the count of three you'll all take a bite and see pink or blue icing in the middle!" She explained, everyone picked theirs up and waited.

"Alright ready?" Jamie said and looked around at the whole family ready to dig in.

"1…2…3…!" Jamie counted it off and it was like a race to see who could see what it was first.

"GIRL!" Danny said out loud first followed by Sean and Erin at the same time.

"Ahh it's a girl!" Eddie was ecstatic and gave Jamie a big hug.

"I had a feeling." Jamie told her back and they kissed each other quick. Everyone jumped up excited and gave them hugs.

In all the chaos, Taylor poked Joe in his butt with a smirk on her face, because she was right, she won the bet. Joe of course looked around worried someone saw but no one did.

——

"I hope I have a girl one day." Taylor said on the drive home.

"Me too." He held her hand, he could see change in her face to sadness. He didn't know what to say so he just kept hold of her hand tightly.

"Can you take me to my place?" She asked.

"Oh? But I didn't pack a bag."

"I know. I'll be fine by myself." She admitted.

"Taylor, what's wrong?"

"I just wanna be by myself."

"We talked about this earlier. Remember? Don't shut me out…I'm here for you." He held her hand so tightly, it's the only affection he could show while driving.

"How bout instead of wasting your time wondering if you'll have kids one day you redirect your thoughts to your dream wedding or honeymoon location first." He suggested.

"Because I already have that all figured out."

"Oh? Let's hear it." Joe said surprised and anxious to hear.

"Well the wedding takes place at the courthouse and the honeymoon has to be within 4 hours away because I hate traveling and will not fly." She said.

"Courthouse…really?" He was a little surprised, it wasn't typical a girl wants one of those.

"Well who the fucks supposed to walk me down the aisle!? Oh right my dead father? Who's supposed to come dress shopping with me? The mother I've never met or my grandmother who raised me…oh right she's dead too!" Her mood went from sad to angry in 3 seconds flat.

"Umm alright. Sorry. We just won't talk about any of that." He shut it down immediately. She stared out the window without saying anything else.

"How bout a ring?"

"Joe! Can we just fucking live together for a hot minute before you go off making plans!"

"You're right. Sorry. I didn't know it was a sore subject."

"I hate weddings." She said shaking her head.

"Alrighty then…" Joe said and kept driving.

Well that went south HAHA! Poor Joe pushed his luck a little, most girls love talking about such things, guess Taylor's different and that's ok! Leave your comments!
