A couple weeks later

Joe was finally able to get rid of his apartment after his lease was up. He spent his day off moving everything to Taylor's place. He didn't have much, the most time consuming thing was clearing up space in her closet for his clothes. She had a lot of clothes and shoes.

"Um Tay?" He called out when he started opening her dresser drawers.

"What?"

"You expect me to fit all this in one drawer?" He pointed to his socks, underwear and t shirts on the bed.

"Mhm." She said tucking her lips. Joe looked back at the pile and then the drawer scratching his head.

"Ugh fine. I guess I can move some more things around." She pulled some of her things out and rearranged for him.

"Or we can go buy another dresser or something?"

"No it's fine. I can figure it out." She insisted.

"Okay…well I'm starving, I'm gonna go find something to eat while you do this." He told her and left for the kitchen.

Later that night Joe and Taylor climbed into bed together for the first time as official housemates.

"This feels good." He said and started kissing her, he was ready to celebrate the new stage of life they were in.

"Aren't you forgetting something?" She stopped and asked in the midst of kissing.

"I'll go get them…" he said with a smile and left the bedroom.

He came back with his handcuffs in hand, Taylor smirked at him as he climbed back in bed with her.

"Now this is gonna be fun." Taylor laughed and they got busy.

——

It was 5am when Joes alarm went off for him to get up and head to work. He was still tired from yesterday and Taylor kept him up late last night with her shenanigans.

"Nooo." She rolled over to him and cuddled up against his warm body.

"I wish I could lay here all day with you." He mumbled to her and held her in his arms.

"Well what time do you have to be in?" She asked tracing her finger around his chest.

"6." He responded.

"Oh you have time then." She proceeded to climb on top of him.

"No…baby I need to go to work." He stopped her.

"But I'm cold" she whined trying to make him stay.

"Well maybe if you had clothes on you wouldn't be." He pointed out with a laugh.

"No I don't think so." She joked.

"I'll lay with you one more minute then I gotta get up." He told her, she curled against him and he held her like he said he would.

"Tay…" he called her out when her hand started exploring.

"Pleaseee" she playfully begged.

"You're hot as hell, and I wish I had as much energy to do half of what we did last night right now, but I have stuff to do before I head in, I can't." He kissed her on the forehead before he jumped out of bed.

"Like what?" She asked sitting up.

"Well It's my turn to pick up breakfast sandwiches for the guys, and I'm picking up Jordan on the way because their car's in the shop until Thursday." He said as he got dressed.

"Oh okay. Well I don't start until 8 so…I'm going back to bed." Joes to do list exhausted her for 5am.

"Good. I'll see you for dinner, love you."

"I work late."

"Oh right, well I'll see you for dessert." He laughed and left the room.

Later that night Taylor got home around 8pm, Joe had been home a couple hours now.

"Hey, how was your day?" He asked.

"Long. I didn't get a chance to eat dinner I'm starving." She said setting her things down.

"Oh I wish I would've known I would've brought you something home."

"Oh you went out?" She asked.

"Yeah me, Jordan and Trent got a drink and dinner after work."

"Well that's fine. I have a couple frozen dinners I think." She pulled them out of the freezer and popped it in the microwave. She leaned against the counter while she waited.

"Sorry." He said again.

"It's fine, how was your day?"

"Good. I'm working the same shift tomorrow too just so you know."

"Okay."

"Something wrong?"

"I'm just tired, and I have a migraine." She rubbed her head.

"Can I get you some advil or something?"

"I'll take some after I eat, before I shower." She told him.

"Okay, we can go to bed early, I'm tired too." He said.

"Definitely. We're still going to your moms tomorrow for dinner right?" She wondered.

"Yeah, as long as you feel better by then."

"I will. This happens all the time, it'll be fine after a good nights sleep." Taylor said.

"Good. She mentioned a new boyfriend so I don't know if he'll be there or not…"

"Oh really?"

"Yeah, he'll probably be there." He said annoyed.

"What's wrong with that?"

"My mom just has a bad track record with guys. So I don't get my hopes up anymore." He admitted.

"Oh…well that just means you care about her."

"She's never the one to learn it on her own, I always have to."

"You look them up don't you." She asked bluntly.

"Perks of being a cop." He shrugged.

"Maybe having a daughter one day with you wouldn't be ideal…" she joked.

"Hey you'll be grateful for it, I promise." He pointed a finger and laughed calling her out.

"I know. I'm just kidding." She said and sat down to eat.
