The peace didn't last for long, Shippou poking his head through the doorway to request entry. Kagome moved away from the tree, allowing Inukimi and Kagura the space needed to keep the former calm.
Especially when Inuyasha and Kouga showed up, eyes bugging out of their heads at the sight. Kagome barely had time to get between them, preventing Tessaiga from reaching full form.
"She's fine—different," she said, patting her friend's hand.
"Is this what you were doing last night?" Kouga asked, not taking his eyes off Kagura.
"She was deliberately disobeying orders," Sesshoumaru said, a smirk tugging at his lips when she whirled on him.
"Since when do I take orders from you?" she snapped, hands on her hips.
His smirk widened as he lowered his head, fangs nipping at her ear. "Since you agreed to be mine."
