Paul and his friends got a lead as to where Goldberg's hideout is thanks to Monica. When they learned where he might be hiding, the three of them headed straight for the woods. In hopes of finding some answers as to what was going on, or maybe bring Goldberg and Master down, they went on over to enemy territory. They thought they got in undetected, but Goldberg was alerted of their presence. When they thought they have something, they fell right into a trap.
"Bottom floor!" Paul called. He shot a line and was able to stop himself from falling. Thomas followed his lead while Paul shot another line to save Lindsay just before she hit the bottom. "Blite, are you okay?"
"I think so." Lindsay said. The boys released themselves and dropped down to the floor with her. When they got there, they saw they were in some sort of cavern, but the floor was made out of metal.
"Where are we now?" Thomas questioned.
"Right where Goldberg wants us." Paul said as none of them liked the looks of this.
"How right you are, Spider-Man." All three of them heard a voice and heard it came from under them. The three of them went over to the edge and spotted Goldberg was right under them in front of a computer. "I would say it is nice to see the three of you, but this is considering breaking-in."
"Indeed. No wonder that newspaper believes you and your team are a menace." The three of them looked and saw Master was there as well.
"You're both here? Saves us the trouble of hunting both of you down." Paul said as he looked ready to just jump in there and pound both of them. However, Master pulled a machine gun on them and started shooting. All three of them jumped down.
"That's a fine way to say hello." Lindsay complained.
"My apologies, but I instinctively thought Spider-Man here was about to make the first move and attack us." Master claimed. "I swear that was aiming away from all of you. I was just trying to make sure you didn't try anything before we had the chance to talk. That is why you came here, isn't it? I doubt you're here to tell us that you accepted the offer to join us, Spider-Man."
"Even if it is against Craze Killer, no way." Paul claimed. "I don't trust either of you. You two are only opposing him because he seems like a threat to both of you, not New York. You only think about yourselves."
"Regardless of what you might think, we all want to take down Craze Killer." Master said.
"What we want are answers! What the hell do you two know about him?" Thomas questioned. "Craze Killer is planning something, you two are planning to fight against it."
"I thought I made myself clear from the last time we spoke, Spider-Man." Master said. "Although his intentions aren't clear, we received word that he's planning something big for this city. It's a danger to all of us that must be stopped."
"That doesn't really explain anything. You're planning to make weapons to be used against him." Thomas said.
"You two know more than you're saying, and I want to know what that is." Paul said. "Even if you two are opposing Craze Killer, I can't let the likes of you get a hold of something so dangerous. There's really no telling what you two will do, whether you defeat him or not. Bottom line is that you two can't be trusted with anything." Paul is making it clear that he's against these two no matter what they claim. They can't be trusted and have to be stopped one way or another.
"I understand your opposition to us, Spider-Man, I really do." Master said. "Before it was known I was Master, I made quite a bit of a name for myself. When it was revealed who I really was, the city quickly turned against me. Goldberg here was just plain rotten. We haven't exactly earned people's trust. However, Goldberg and myself aim to take control of the city. Craze Killer is aiming to destroy it. We can't really run a city if it's destroyed."
"Are you even listening to yourself? You're just proving why stopping you guys has to be done." Thomas said.
"I don't even see why we're debating about this." Lindsay said. "We stopped Craze Killer from whatever he was planning. He got a hold of the rock from space, he did something weird with it, we stopped him, and the rock was destroyed. Game over, isn't it?"
"I highly doubt he would give up that easily." Master claimed. "We all can agree that the Craze Killer is a danger to all of us and must be eliminated. That is what I am proposing, Spider-Man. We have a common enemy. Would it make more sense to put our differences aside and work together to eliminate such a dangerous threat?"
"Not if we do things your way!" Paul said as he continues to refuse the offer no matter how it sounded. "I don't really care what you two think. You two wouldn't hesitate to do something wrong if it means you get what you want. People will get hurt. We all have different ideas for the city. Mine involves having you two behind bars, while you want to completely takeover. That's why I won't join you."
"Enough talk!" Goldberg said as he had enough and took Master's machine gun. He was clearly fed up with all the talking. Clearly, Master is the voice of reason. "I don't know why you're bothering speaking with them, Master. If they won't join us, oppose us, they should just be dead!" He didn't wait around anymore as he opened fired at the three of them, but the three of them got moving.
"Typical. You always made sure things go your way, and then you crush and destroy them when they don't." Lindsay complained. "You haven't changed after all these years."
"Why change when you love who you are?" Goldberg boasted. He kept firing, but Thomas shot a line at the gun and was able to pull it right out of his hands. When he did that, he smashed his fist right into Goldberg's face.
"So much for being reasonable about this." Master complained. That was right when Paul jumped him and put him in a headlock. However, Master was able to pull him off and throw him, but Paul jumped off the wall and tackled him. Master ended up getting smashed against the computer. What Paul didn't notice was Master hitting a button on the computer. Thomas jumped on Goldberg and pounded him on the head, but Goldberg charged into the stone wall and smashed Thomas against it. When he did that, he grabbed Venom and threw him to the ground. He was about to stomp down on him, but Lindsay jumped in and tried to kick him back, but she just bounced off him.
"What was that suppose to do?" Goldberg laughed.
"I forgot what a fat hippo you are." Lindsay complained. Goldberg went at him and tried to crush her, but Thomas shot a couple lines and tried to hold him back.
"You don't really think your little leashes can hold me down, do you?" Goldberg taunted. He grabbed the lines and pulled Thomas in with him being thrown against Lindsay. "If you fools can't beat me, how do you think you can beat Craze Killer?"
"This guy actually has you nervous?" Lindsay questioned. "It's unlike you to be nervous about someone."
"I'm not nervous. That lunatic thinks he can scare others, but I'll make him fear me!" Goldberg said.
"You think fear equals power, but that's not how it works!" Thomas said.
"Fear does equal power!" Goldberg said as he went at the two of them and tried to crush them, but the two of them kept moving. "People are afraid of those with greater power. The power makes them fear you! You three are living in fantasy land where you think everyone gets along equally, but people live in fear! I'm not going to be afraid of anyone. I make people fear me!"
"People live in fear because they don't feel safe." Lindsay said as she jumped on his back and put him in a headlock, trying to constrict his neck. "What they want is to feel safe, but you think it's all about power and wealth. You're willing to stomp down on everyone because you think if they fear you, you hold all the power. That's not the case at all. You're just looking for ways to get whatever you want, but they'll always people to challenge you."
"That would be weaklings like you when you can't learn their place!" Goldberg said as he ripped her off and held her in front of him to crush her, but Venom stepped in as he jumped at him and kicked him right in the head to free her. When that happened, Lindsay wrapped her legs around Goldberg's and twisted herself to have him fall to the ground. As for Paul, he kept trying to fight off Master, but Master was a tough one. He swung his claw around and tried to strike him, but Paul kept bobbing and weaving. Eventually, Paul managed to grab a hold of his arm. He thought he had him, but Master was able to grab him with his free arm and tossed him to the ground.
"I tried being reasonable about this Spider-Man. There's no reason for you to be stubborn." Master said as he held him down.
"I prefer sensible." Paul said as he grabbed Master and threw him off. "You felt rejected by the world because of your appearance. That's what caused you to become a crime boss, crime lord, of whatever you want to call it." He shot some webs at him and got him tied up until he couldn't move. "You forced people to be mutated to make yourself feel good!" Once he got him tied up, he went right at Master and kept punching him like a punching bag. "Everything you ever did was for your own selfish wants and needs!" He kept on punching him until Master got one of his arms free and was able to catch one of his arms.
"Surely, you can understand that." Master said. "Look at what that newspaper calls you. They blame you for all that has happened in New York."
"But I don't take matters into my hands like you. I've endured and lived with my life no matter what people say!" Paul said as he jumped up and smashed his foot against his head. Goldberg charged right at Thomas again, but Thomas jumped right over him. When he turned around, he was met with Venom swinging Blite around to land another kick again. After she did that, Thomas shot some lines above them and pulled as hard as he could to have some rocks fall and land right on Goldberg. All three of the heroes kept pounding the two around until both of them were knocked against the computer.
"Impressive." Master said as they both tried to catch their breath. "You and your friends have certainly gotten stronger."
"It's over. You two are coming with us, and whatever it is your planning ends now." Paul said as he thought they had him.
"Spider-Man, whatever you think of us, we are doing what can to bring Craze Killer down. Call it intuition or whatever you like, but if we agree that he's a threat, it's certainly something to consider." Master said.
"Why do you keep trying to persuade them?" Goldberg questioned.
"Because I know we're going to need their help." Master said as he appeared to be the only one sensible about it.
"Doesn't matter. You're both finished." Thomas claimed.
"Either way, you have bigger issues." Master said as he hit a few buttons on the computer and showed something. He show that something was freezing over the area outside, and it looked like it was heading for the city.
"What's going on? What did you do?" Paul said.
"I just released Glacier." Master said.
"Glacier?!" Paul said as he was shocked for he thought Glacier was dead. "You mean...he's alive?!"
"In a way. He's gone through quite a drastic change. You might want to see for yourself." Master said. Paul didn't like that he had to let those two go, but it seems like they don't have a choice. They don't have much on them at the moment either way. Paul and his friends hurried out of there to see what was happening with Glacier, but they'll be in for quite a shock when they see him.
