*I don't own any of the original Blood+ characters. The rest my muse will fight you over and she's vicious lately.
Red Dawn:
Now You Know
So I think I have an idea on how to end this story. My muse and I were arguing over several plot points but I think we have it figured out. Unfortunately, I don't know how ya'll are going to take it but it's still several chapters away :) And I actually had an idea for a prequel to The Facility. Got to eventually fix all my plot holes XD
Kai closed the blinds and locked the doors, swiping the 'OPEN ' sign to 'CLOSED'.
Sighing, Kai looked around the room and his gaze settled on Saya's fear-stricken face. She'd faced down Chiropteran monsters for decades without an ounce of fear, and now...Kai wasn't too sure he'd ever seen her this scared.
Hibiki whined for attention, patting on Saya's face.
Saya startled and glanced down at her daughter.
" Riku, will you and Xavier take the twins in the other room and play them please? I think we have some things to discuss." Saya said softly.
Riku nodded and reached for Hibiki and walked towards the living room after Xavier grabbed Kanade.
Taking a deep breath, Saya turned to them, with her eyes glowing red and rage soaking her words.
" What's our first step?"
" First I think we should find a safe place for the younger ones, as well as anyone not equipped to fight. The twins can stay at Luis' place with Julia and Xavier. And we might want to give Michael a call to see if he's heard of this 'Red Dawn'." David suggested.
"We should probably also warn my former Chevaliers. They were on her list. And from the looks of that drug, it's probably best no one's alone." Diva said softly.
"Does anyone know where they are?" Julia asked.
"Nathan went 'soul searching ' as he put it and I think Amshel said something about 'atonement' so I have a few ideas." Diva suggested.
"It's also a good idea if we all relocate at the moment. There are a lot of people who know you live here. That includes this new organization clearly. It's not a safe environment." Julia added.
"We'll also need a cover story to explain why we're all packing up and dispersing. We don't know who to truly trust right now and we need to make it quick. People will have seen that broadcast and will be looking for you. We're lucky we scan the place for bugs every few days. Let's figure this out first then act as quickly and quietly as possible." David said.
They agreed and minutes later moved to start cleaning up and packing necessities. Saya and Diva packed up everything needed for the twins and placed it in Julia's van.
an hour later, everything was cleaned, packed and closed down.
Saya looked at her babies, snug in their car seats in the van.
"Be good for Aunt Julia and Uncle Lewis, ok? We'll see you soon." Saya said, planting a kiss on both of their foreheads. Julia closed the door and pulled her into a hug.
"Don't worry. We'll keep them safe." Saya nodded and Julia turned and climbed into the van behind David.
Kai walked up as the van pulled away.
"Michael will be here in a few minutes. Do we have any idea when Nathan or Amshel are going to meet us?" He asked.
"Diva and Lulu are going to grab Amshel and when David gets back, he and Hagi are grabbing Nathan." Saya explained.
"That's good. I called Mao and Okamura. They've managed to find a place for us to stay that's cheap enough for how many people we have. Said they'll call us once we're on the road." Kai scratched the back of his head in thought.
Saya nodded and sighed.
Their reverie was broken when Kaori came rushing over.
"Saya! Kai! How's it going guys?" She asked, a smile on her face.
Saya offered a smile of her own, observing the years changes on her friend. It may have only been a decade long hibernation, but ten years could reek havoc on the human race. Kai himself, despite being in his late twenties, was showing subtle signs himself. She supposed most of that was due to the hectic life they lived.
"We're ok Kaori. Just packing up for a mini vacation. It's been a long time since we've had the family under one roof." Kai said, using the cover story they had come up with.
Family.
Saya barely remembered the cover story they had come up with to explain their chevaliers and the like. It seemed she forgot much after the facility took them away.
"That's nice. It's always good to spend time with family. My husband took the boys out on an extended fishing trip about a week ago. I must admit I miss having children underfoot. It's too quiet sometimes." Kaori chuckled.
"I'd have to agree with you there." Kai chuckled himself, remembering Diva's children fondly.
Saya looked up as Michael's car approached.
"Guess that's my cue. Have fun on your trip guys! Take lots of pictures ok?" Waving, Kaori ran off towards the direction of her house.
Michael climbed out of his car, walking up to them.
"What was that about?" He looked at Kai quizzically.
"Just an old friend saying hello. Come on inside, the others will be back in a bit. Then we'll head out."
Michael followed them inside and sat down as they waited on David so they could start their 'vacation'.
Once inside her house, Kaori grabbed the phone hidden in her desk and dialed the only number on it.
"They're on the move soon. Just waiting on one more person and it sounds like they are splitting up just like you said. The children were taken by Dr. Silverstein. Yes ma'am. Understood." Kaori ended the call and looked at the family portrait she had hung on the wall eons ago.
What she was doing was dangerous and uncertain. But she knew one thing for sure.
It would all be worth it. It had to be.
