Chapter 3
Author's Note : Thank you readers. Stay tumed.
The next few days went on without much excitment or anything out of the ordinary.
But at some point during the night. Lucas was awoken. By the constant echo of banging at his front door.
He opened it wiped the sleep from his eyes. And was taken aback by the sight of his mother and his younger sister Tabitha.
"Hey Tabbie. Why don't you go hang out. And let mom and I talk for awhile.?" Luke suggested.
The young girl shook her head and came inside the home.
"I don't know what's going on. Momma just said we had to go."
"I packed up all i could into my suitcase and followed her."
"She said dad couldn't come with us." Tabitha explained.
Karen rushed inside placing down a small suitcase.
She clung tightly to Tabitha. The teenager a combination of both her parents. Blue eyes. Brown hair. Was shy, read books, kept to herself. She basically just blended into the background. Never wanting to bring attention to herself.
Which Lucas always felt like was strongly because of the turmoil filled environment she had grown up in.
There was 17 years seperating Lucas and Tabbie. Lucas was 30. She was 13.
"You listen to you're brother. He loves you and will protect you."
"I love you Tabbie. And i'm sorry." Karen proclaimed the emotion in her voice thick.
"Go unpack you're suitcase. I'll bring you a snack soon." Lucas added in.
Tabitha hugged her mother tightly. Grabbing her suitcase before going towards the guest room.
It was only then did Lucas. Lead the way into the living room.
"What is going on.?" Lucas whispered.
Karen took a deep breath before she spoke.
"I'm leaving Dan. He will never give me a divorce Lucas."
"I'm leaving Tree Hill. I don't know if i can ever come back." Karen explained.
Lucas's eyes went wide. "You can't just leave. What about Tabbie.? You're cafe.?" Me.?" He asked.
"He cannot have custody of her. If i had any other choice. I wouldn't be doing this." Karen replied.
...
Brooke found Lucas's phone number in her cellphone.
She clicked on it and debated calling him.
The two had been friends for a number of years now.
But the two had never crossed any lines or boundaries.
Brooke found herself hesistating on reaching out.
