Chapter 4

Author's Note : Thank you for the support my readers. Stay tuned.

"Mom there has to be another way. To do this. Abandoning you're life here. Being on you're own. This is wrong and unfair to you and the rest of us who love you." Lucas proclaimed.

"I'm not proud of the choice i made to to stay in the marriage with Dan for as long as i did. I loved him. But as time and years went on his true self came through and i subjected you to that. It's all Tabitha knows. Turmoil. Fights. Lack of love. He's number 1. What he wants and needs is all that matters."

"I know that did damage to you and i hate myself for that."

"I allowed myself to get lost in that relationship. I wanted a family so bad i overlooked what was wrong and broken."

"Tabitha is young and there is still time for things to be different for me. And for you Luke. Learn from mistakes. Don't just give you're heart to anyone. Love can cause you to see the verison of a person you want rather then who they really are."

"Be smart. Be happy. Life is waiting for you. I hope at some point you stop hiding from it you deserve that."

"I love you." Karen said.

"I love you too." Lucas said. Pulling his mom into a final hug before watching her drive off into the night.

...

Hours Later

In the morning

Lucas awoke to the sight of Tabitha sitting on the edge of the bed.

"You couldn't sleep.? What's wrong.?" Lucas asked.

The expression Tabitha's face softened.

"Momma called me last night. She said she doesn't know if she can ever come back. She's running away from dad because she's scared of him. What he might do."

"I'm worried about her."

"I'm scared of him too. I was breaking up a fight between them. Just a few days ago. He hit me. He pushed me against the wall."

"He hits her. She never wanted anyone to know that."

"He's not going to let her go. If he finds out where i am. He's going to come after me. I don't want to go back there. Please Luke."

"Don't make me." Tabitha pleaded. Tears welling up in her eyes.

"I won't. I promise." Lucas replied. Engulfing her in a tight hug.

...

"Lucas Scott! I bought bagels. Donuts. Coffee. Breakfast is served!" Brooke exclaimed. As she entered the home with the spare key he had given her.
