Note: I am beginning to think this is turning into a crack fic and I'm not even angry. Anyways, have chapter 6. Side note, I realize belatedly that Aizawa should be in bandages but I did not think about it when writing this...so um yeah.
"Why did you panic?" That question was rolling around her head over and over. Why did she panic? There was no real reason too, it was just...shoes. It was just a shopping trip. After having handed over the card to him first thing, he had taken her elbow and deposited her at the table. Hizashi coming into the room to sit down. Neither one of them were getting very far conversation wise. Hizashi frowned in concern.
Glancing at his husband, Hizashi leaned forward and spoke up again carefully. He knew Shouta was exhausted, but the stubborn man would not go take a nap. He was worried over their newest charge. Rightfully so.
"Sweetie? Little listener? I cannot help you and Sho cannot help you, unless you talk to us." He tried again, voice softer and gentle. He could see the way she tugged her bottom lip between her teeth, hands pressed between her knees as she sat in front of them. The kitchen dead quiet as they waited patiently.
"I can't afford to pay you back." The response was NOT what Hizashi was expecting. And from the way Sho jolted, he knew his husband hadn't expected that either. Leaning down to try and catch her eye, he spoke up gently.
"Why do you think you need to pay us back? Hm? That's great and all, but in my house no kid is going without." He tried to keep his voice gentle, he really did, but something in his tone must have peeked out. Perhaps his frustrations, not at her of course, but at this whole situation.
"But that's just it. It's not essentials!" She snapped loudly, shoulders tensed.
"What makes you think that?" Hizashi asked, patiently. Sho running a hand down his face and hiding his mouth behind his hand.
"I...they just aren't. No one bats an eye if you don't have shoes...they aren't important and...and me spending your money on them and unable to pay you back..." Her voice started rising and Hizashi quickly decided to nip that line of thinking the butt. However, Sho beat him too it.
"Listen to me closely," Aizawa said. "We are not mad at you. Neither of us will ever be mad at you for asking for something. We may occasionally tell you no, but things like clothing, shoes, pads-" She winced at his casual mentioning of that dreaded subject "-food, none of that would be something we would ever tell you no for. Understand? These are essentials. Your past caretakers may have failed you, but we will not."
She nodded and glanced away, swallowing hard. Those wide teal eyes so filled with worry damn well near broke Hizashi's heart. Sucking in a soft breath she spoke up quietly.
"Thank you for being patient with me, I...I'm trying." Her voice cracked and Hizashi took a step forward gently placing his hand on her head to ruffle his hair. Thankfully, telegraphing his movements seemed to help her anxiety.
"And that's alright. We actually have you scheduled to begin seeing Hound Dog soon for therapy." She frowned at him and spoke up.
"I'm not crazy." At this Aizawa frowned at her.
"I didn't say you were, but you are emotionally and mentally unprepared. You have been traumatized and I think you would benefit from therapy. Go at least a few sessions. If you don't like it, fine. But at least try it." She studied her teacher who calmly stared her down. From behind her, Hizashi gave a blinding smile and Sho rolled his eyes.

Group Text: Squad.
Ally smiled in amusement at the name and carefully texted the members she had added to the group. Fumbling with the smart phone keys awkwardly.

Ally found herself giggling while reading chat.
Me:

Tomorrow at 10am?
Her phone blue up with thumbs up emojis and hearts from Mina and normal responses from the others. The only ones that didn't respond were Yaoyorozu, Shoji, Todoroki and Uraraka. Although she had been hoping they'd join, she understood they may be uncomfortable around her. Not only was she new she was...well... Clearing her throat and shaking her head she sent back a smiley face and plugged her phone in. For now, she'd work on her Hiragana again.

Ally came too with sunlight streaming on her face. The buzzing phone's eight A.M. Alarm going off. Groaning, she turned it off and stood up, stretching her back with a pop. She must have fallen asleep while studying. On the plus sign she was getting a little better recognizing symbols!
Rushing to get a shower and get ready, she threw on her bright yellow t-shirt and black shorts. Grabbing a hair tie she slipped out the bathroom in search of sustenance. And by that she meant coffee. To her surprise Hizashi was sitting at the table with Shinsou. Both speaking quietly. Aizawa was absent, but she figured he was probably asleep.
"Good morning." She said softly, moving to get a cup of coffee and lavished it with creamer. Ally decided to be the bigger person and ignore the snort of amusement from behind her.
"Would you like some coffee with your creamer?" Shinsou asked sarcastically. Ally smiled sweetly and batted her eye lashes.
"I need my anti murder elixir, now hush." To her surprise he actually let out a bark of laughter and Hizashi grinned at her. Biting down on her bottom lip, she tucked a lock of hair behind her ear and decided to ask.
"Yamada sensei, can you-"
"None of that sensei stuff in the house." He cut in swiftly, and motioned for her to continue. She blinked owlishly and nodded.
"Can you..that is...do you...um..." She held up her hairband and dissolved into inaudible mumbles. A soft chuckle reverberated through the room as Hizashi pulled a chair closer to himself.
"You want it braided little listener?" He asked kindly. Grinning, she sat down with her back to him and handed him the band.
"Yes, please." She chirped, contentedly sipping her coffee while the kind blonde man gently untangled her hair and separated it. Shinsou watched on with heavy lidded eyes.
"Where are you going today?" He grunted calmly. She glanced up at him and smiled tentatively. She liked Shinsou, he was easy to get along with and didn't pry.
"I um..was gonna go do some training with the others?" She said, the gentle tugging of her hair and the sensation of fingers scratching gently along her scalp had her eyes drooping.
"You asking me or telling me?" Shinsou remarked in amusement. Scowling at him she sipped her coffee, deigning not to answer.
"There, all done." Hizashi said happily. She gently touched her braid and smiled brightly. It wasn't tight and painful, like her foster mom used to do. It was soft and lose but secure.
"Thank you!" She squeaked happily. The voice hero smiled kindly and patted her head. Grinning, she swallowed back her coffee and raced to brush her teeth. By the time she got back, she could smell fish sizzling in the pan. Her stomach chose that moment to growl loudly...and a rather large yawn had her jaw popping. Talk about embarrassing.
"Go ahead and sit at the table. You and Shinsou can eat and then go do whatever. I have to go to the station today." Hizashi said not unkindly. The smell of cooking salmon had her mouth salivating. Shinsou returned and pushed another cup of coffee in front of her. Blinking she smiled and took it with a muttered thanks.
"The radio station?" Shinsou inquired while getting a second cup of coffee. Hizashi nodded, singing along to some song in his head. Not for the first time, sitting there she found she liked this family. Ally froze at that thought. Family as if it was something obtainable. Sucking in a breath she tried to clear that dangerous thought from her mind. Hizashi – and wasn't that the kicker? Since when did she call him by his first name, even mentally? - was not her father. Sho...Shouta was not her dad. Shinsou was not her brother.
And yet, some part of her wanted them to be. The plate of fish and rice put in front of her startled her out of her obsurd day dreams. Smiling, she offered her thanks and quickly ate her breakfast. Hungrier than she thought she was. Once her and Shinsou finished, him at a more sedate pace, she collected the plates and put them in the sink. Hizashi wouldn't let her wash them though, shooing her from the kitchen.
"I'm off for training! By 'Zashi!" She called before she could second guess it. She'd deal with the fall out later if it wasn't ok. "Shinsou...did you wanna come?" The tired boy shrugged and grabbed his phone and key.
"Sure, let's go." As they were putting on their shoes he smirked and said conspiratorially, "Zashi huh?"
Her cheeks filled with color and she promptly smacked him with her tennis shoe. He chuckled while holding his bicep.
"Violent much." He griped.
"Yeah well you call him pops. You can't talk."
Unbeknownst to both of them, Hizashi had his hand over his heart and was trying not to scream. He really didn't want to replace more windows.

"Sorry we're late guys!" It was ten minutes after the proposed meeting time and Ally felt bad for being late. Puffing air as she staggered to a stop panting. Shinsou walking far more sedately behind her.
"Relax, it's ten minutes." He said calmly. She frowned at him and found her instant justice as Iida started in on Shinsou about punctuality and heroes. And honestly it was rather amusing, until those blue eyes and chopping hands turned in her direction. She did her best to look meek and not like she wanted to laugh.
"I get it Iida, I'm terribly sorry. Won't happen again." Five minutes later of Iida going on and on she finally cut in. Trying to use her most contrite voice. Mina was giggling away and Ally shot her a playful glare.
"You seem to be feeling better today." Uraraka said, smiling at Ally. Said girl nodded and spoke up softly.
"I really am feeling better, I apologize again about yesterday. But I'm here and ready to try and learn." Ally said. Mina jumped her from behind, arms looping around her shoulders and she staggered with an oof.
"I call dibs on Ally! Lets see what moves you got." Apparently no one was going to take pity on her pleading face. Not even a smirking Shinsou. Frowning in betrayal at him, she found herself standing on a mat. The gym was massive and open spaced. Mats set down so that people could practice sparring and not get hurt as badly if they were thrown.
"Ok, let's see what you know!" Mina cheered, taking a battle stance. Swallowing, she took a very lose fighting stance. Mina frowned, but it was Iida who spoke up.
"Your stance is too open. Have you never done sparring before?" Ally looked over at Iida and shook her head.
"No I've never...I um, outside of a few school yard scraps I've never fought anyone in a real setting." Iida frowned at her and took a step forward.
"Ashido, perhaps we should start with basics." The pink girl nodded brightly and the next hour was basic blocks and jabs. Thankfully she took to it way easier than learning a whole new writing system. Yeah she was still bitter about that. By the time the two hour mark hit, she was ready to do some real sparring.
"Can we practice some of those moves now?" She asked shyly. The group all looked between each other and Tsu spoke up.
"She's never going to learn if she doesn't do actual sparing. Besides her stance is pretty good now. Ribbit."
"Of course, we'll do a few rounds of spars. I'll referee." Iida stated, hand chopping away. Ally giggled and found herself relaxed for once. Enjoying being around...friends for once.
Taking up her position, she settled into a ready stance. The position still slightly awkward but not like before. Mina lunged and instinctively Ally jerked backwards, belatedly bringing up an arm to block another swing. The impact on her forearm was jarring and she quickly found herself retreating until she stepped off the mat.
"HAULT. Ally stepped off the mat, Mina wins." Mina grinned and backed up. Pouting she took back up and when Iida called for them to start she moved forward quickly on the offense. Taking a hit to her jaw she staggered and ducked the second jab. Shifting her stance she brought up her foot in a sharp front kick and nailed Mina in the chin. The pink girl staggered back and hit the mat flat on her back with a loud "oomf".
"ARE YOU OK?" Ally squealed, running to the girl's side and squatting down. Babbling in her concern only to have Mina start laughing. Ally held out a hand and helped Mina up.
"OW you have a hard foot. Secondly, that was bad ass!" Mina exclaimed in excitement rubbing her jaw.
"I'm so sorry." Ally started only to be cut off again by Mina.
"Don't be! This is what training is for silly! Now, who wants to fight this beast next?" Uraraka smiled and bounced forward.
"Let's do this!" She shouted excitedly. Ally liked the girls enthusiasm and bounded over the mat. Dropping back down into what Yaoyorozu had called a "front stance" she watched Uraraka intently. When the girl lunged with a right hook, Ally quickly blocked it. Moving in she threw a sloppy spinning kick only to have her foot grabbed and her body going weightless. With a yelp gravity was returned and she hit the mat with a grunt.
"Sorry!" Uraraka yelped loudly.
"I-it's ok!" Ally said, scrabbling up.
"Again?" The brunette seemed to relax and smiled.
"Sure."
The next few hours passed the same way. A few water breaks, but ultimately they worked four hours on sparring. By the time everyone had got their sparring in, and all had sparred her, she was exhausted. Muscles she didn't even know she had were aching something fierce. She wasn't pleased to be going back to class tomorrow. Honestly, Ally would much rather be catching up on learning to spar, but she knew classes were important.
"Why don't you come back to our dorms to hang out? Shinsou, would you like to join us?" The purple teen glanced over tiredly and shrugged.
"Sure I don't see why not." He squinted when Ally beamed at him. Her bright teal eyes catching the light and shimmering brightly. Too bright. The boys found themselves thinking.
"So Ally, if I may ask, I've been meaning to ask." She glanced over at Midoriya as they all walked across campus to the dorms.
"Yes Midoriya?" She inquired curiously. His green eyes seemed to flick everywhere around them but her.
"What is..what is your quirk?" At his question, her steps slowed and she tilted her head with a frown.
"I-if you don't want to answer you don't have to! I know it's a really personal thing to ask and I-" Midoriya was rambling and appeared to be mildly panicking.
"No no it's ok. I know it'll come up eventually. I'm just trying to think on how to describe it to you guys. That's all." She soothed the green haired boy gently. Her hands waving in front of her face. They reached the building far faster than she thought they would. Raising a hand, she brushed some of the strands that had gotten lose from her braid back behind her ear.
"It's called Cyber. My quirk is...I don't really know if it's a telekenisis or a telepathy, but I can mentally connect up to any machine. When I sort of...connect I can control the technology as well as sort of...see through it? Like I can take over security cameras and I can control wires to make them move around. Stuff like that. It's also kind of obnoxious though because I can hear electricity in walls and I can always sense tech when it's around me. It's like a constant buzzing in my ears. Does that make any sense?" She turned around and found the ground standing on the steps studying her in interest.
"What?" She asked defensively. Midoriya seemed to break out of the trance first.
"That is so cool! So not only can you control it you can overtake it and merge mentally? I wonder how you are doing it, if it's like a type of connection where you need a radius? Is it determined by how many devices? What kind of device? Can you connect physically? What would happen if you tried to take over something with a complex AI?" The boy was muttered to himself with a hand pressed to his chin.
"Um...I think I broke Midoriya."
