"V, this is huge," Gear says at their hideout.
"Huge? We are getting invited to the justice league…well, sort of. But still, part of the justice league. I don't know what to feel since…wait. Aren't these guys like younger and everything?" Static asks confused as he now thinks about it.
"We have no official name, but four of our members moved up into the league," Aqualad informs.
"What do you guys do anyway?" Gear asks interestedly.
"I believe the term black ops fits us best," Superboy says.
"…we're in!" they both said excitedly.
"Wait…I got see my pops about this," Static says.
"Oh right, he knows about our secret identities," Gear says.
Agradd looks around the place and walks over to some of the computers and tries to read what is scrolling through, but it seems to be gibberish.
"What are you doing?" Artemis asks.
"Curious," Agradd simply says, trying to read.
"That is computer language. Can you read it?" Artemis asks curiously as well.
Agradd turns to her before slowly looking to the two excited heroes and eyes Gear as he reaches for his gloves.
"No," Raven immediately said, making him pull his glove back on.
"Wait…" Artemis spoke up, stopping Raven cold. "Maybe we should let him have a little computer knowledge so he knows what to do if he's alone."
"It wouldn't be a good introduction," Aqualad chimes in.
"Just a thought," Artemis adds.
"Why don't you all come with us to see him?" Static asks.
"Would that be okay? Wouldn't you rather talk alone as he is your birth father?" Agradd asks.
"Hearing from others of this team will help," Static says.
Agradd looks to the group he is with and then back to him, not saying a thing.
"If it will help," Aqualad says.
Virgil and Richie's family's sat there in stunned silence as Aqualad finished explaining everything.
"Is this…something everyone goes through?" Agradd asks, turning to Raven.
"Depends. I am guessing that most didn't know about their family are a superhero," Raven informs.
"Most hide this?" Agradd asks curiously.
"Mostly for their own safety," Raven says as Sharon got a call.
"Hey…no. This is not a good time we have guest…you are about here already?" Sharon asks as Megan sees a car pull into the driveway.
"We should hide," Megan informs the rest as she kept a hidden watch on the person as he gets out of the car and locks it.
"Who is it, Sharon?" Mr. Hawkins asks.
"It's Adam," Sharon informs.
"It's cool then. That's rubberband man. He is another bang baby hero," Static says and soon the front door opened and Adam stopped cold, seeing many known sidekicks or heroes in the living room.
"Should…I come back at another time…or be arrested…?" Adam asks in pure confusion and slight fear that they came for him.
"Please join us. We are not here to capture you," Aqualad assures.
"You could say we are here as a recruitment drive for bang baby heroes," Megan assures.
Adam leans over and spots Virgil in his superhero outfit and Gear as well. "You already in?"
"We are trying to get permission from our family first," Gear informs.
"Basically they are like a stepping stone for the league," Static adds.
"Junior," Megan adds on smiling.
"So like an apprentice program…I am not recruited as well, right?" Adam asks walking in. "I do have a regular life to live here."
"The invitation is not like a draft. Besides, since everyone knows your secret identity, it could be harder on you for the team," Artemis adds.
"This is more like a special squad than just the army," Conner informs.
"But joining is still optional. No one is pressured into joining anything," Aqualad assures.
"Yeah…I'll stay out of it. Got enough trouble with my regular life," Adam informs, holding his hands up in surrender.
"Alright," Megan says writing besides Adam's name that he declined.
"Is he…successful?" Agradd asks, wondering if being this public figure could coincide with success.
"Mostly. Still got some bad looks from being a bang baby," Adam explains. "Nothing I can't handle."
"And he tried to murder some people who cheated him," Jinx adds, filing her nails.
"That was…" Adam comes up short as he tries to explain himself, but couldn't.
"But he did his time. You are quite different from your brother if what I heard is true," Jinx says checking her nails.
"I am. Rather not be connected to him at all now," Adam admits.
"We should go and patrol the town while you talk," Raven advises to Aqualad who got the hidden meaning.
"Of course. Take Jinx and Agradd," he orders.
"Alright," Raven says getting up.
Agradd follows her as well with Jinx coming in close behind, staying as close as possible to Agradd. "Let me help trip anyone to mess them up."
"Can you fly?" Agradd asks as they got outside.
"No…" Jinx admits hesitantly.
"Raven…are we going to walk?" Agradd asks
'Oh. A good walk through the city,' Passion says smiling.
"No. I will carry her," Raven informs before picking up Jinx.
Agradd lifts himself with his magic as Raven takes off, Jinx hanging on for dear life. "Seriously?" Jinx complains.
"I could drop you," Raven reminds.
'Less competition,' Rage says.
'And more fun for us,' Passion adds smiling, grinning almost evilly.
'Passion, your demon side is showing,' Knowledge says, seeing the pink aura drift off of her.
Passion was silent and, for the first time for any of the other emoticlones could recall, looked embarrassed.
'Holy crap…is she…the one of us who is rather promiscuous, is embarrassed?' Brave asks.
'Oh, this is rich,' Rude says.
Passion tries to hum to herself, trying to keep to herself as she wonders what Agradd would wonder about her.
"It seems very quiet compared to the heist earlier," Agradd says looking down from a building during the second hour of this patrol.
"I bet most were sent scrambling once word got around what happened," Jinx says as Kaz yawns from his place on Agradd.
Raven sighs, reaching over and scratching Kaz's head, making him purr.
"Also, looks like a storm is coming on," Agradd says seeing a thundercloud coming their way.
"We might have to get back soon…or stop by someplace and wait it out. Doesn't seem that big to last too long," Raven suggested, seeing the size of the cloud and noticing how has it was coming their way.
"Something seems off about it," Agradd mutters as Kaz had now opened his eyes and started to growl in the thunder cloud's direction.
"Yeah…feels…just off," Jinx tries to describe.
'I am feeling a bit of magic,' Knowledge notices, trying to pinpoint the type.
'This can not be good,' Timid says.
"Can I get closer?" Agradd asks, turning to Raven.
"I don't like it and it's coming to the city either way," Raven says as the cloud was closing in.
"And more lightning than thunder…way more lightning," Jinx notices.
'Is it Thunder and Lightning again?' Rude asks.
"I don't think so," Raven says quietly.
It was quiet at first as the storm cloud came into the city before the sounds of flapping wings were heard.
"Is that a bird?" Jinx asks aloud.
"It's a flock…thunderbirds," Agradd says recognizing that from his studies.
"Shit…" Raven curses, glaring slightly as some blue birds that were half the size of humans and others the size of a full grown human. "Jinx…I'll leave you alone for now. Keep a cover here and protect the buildings," she orders before taking off, leaving Agradd behind.
"What about him?!" Jinx calls, gesturing to Agradd.
"They are about to start discharging," Agradd informs.
"Shit," Jinx grunts, starting to charge her energy as Agradd takes off after Raven. "Oh! Come on!" she yells frustrated before a lightning struck the satellite dish behind her. "Protect the building she said," Jinx mutters.
"Raven! The thunderbirds can't be contained and their discharging will destroy most of the city," Agradd calls.
"That's why I'm not going after the birds!" Raven calls back, starting to charge her magic.
"What are you doing then?" Agradd asks.
"Lightning," she calls out, sending out a shield that tried to cover enough of the city. Lightning striking it as some goes outside the circle. "Agradd, I want you to make sure any civilians caught outside this circle is safe. Buildings are fine, it's the streets I'm worried about," Raven orders.
'We can't hold them back like this. We need help,' Knowledge informs, trying to come up with a plan.
Agradd says nothing as he looked like he was searching for something in the flock.
"Agradd! Now!" Raven calls, noticing he wasn't moving. "We got trouble. Need backup!" Raven calls into the communicator.
"There. It's the flock leader. I am going in," Agradd informs.
"Wait!" Raven calls before he flies through her shield and right into the cloud. "Agradd!"
Soon Agradd's body starts falling back and Raven now sees a new thunderbird, more than three times as big as the others and humanoid. The thunderbird looks to Raven then turns around and flies away, the rest of the thunderbirds following.
Agradd slowly floats in the air, watching as the birds all left him behind and Raven slowly drops the shield. Raven then flies up to him, wondering how he did that.
"What did you do?" Raven asks, coming up beside him.
Agradd doesn't respond before falling out of the sky.
"Agradd!" Raven calls in a panic. Flying down and catching him in her magic. "What did you…no. You didn't," Raven realizes, seeing his almost dead like expression. She then slowly looks to where the thunderbirds went and became worried if he would come back.
Minutes later, Agradd inhales deeply as he comes back alive.
Raven looks down at him before hugging him tightly. "Don't scare me like that."
"They are mad and on the warpath. The leader of the Thunderbird has declared war," Agradd says.
Raven gasps sharply, now seeing a problem. 'We…need some Native Americans,' Knowledges voices.
'What good can they do? Most of their shamans don't have that much a connection. And what's more, I doubt the birds are in a mood for talking,' Rude exclaimed, frowning to them all.
"Someone stole an artifact from them. A powerful medicine staff of lightning. Without it, the thunderbirds eggs can't hatch," Agradd continues.
'Okay. That's worse,' Knowledge says bluntly.
"That was also one group. They are spreading out to attack every major populated area on the continent," Agradd says.
"Anything else?" Raven asks in shock.
"I may have forced that leader to crash into the ground where it's flock won't be able to do much damage for a while until it recovers and took knowledge for this," Agradd says as his hair and cloak start to change colors and he now has lightning magic sparking in his hand.
'Oh. Sparky now,' Brave comments, rubbing her hands together.
'Liking the purple,' Passion says.
'And…powerful…' Rage comments, actually blushing dark red.
'Rage, you're drooling,' Passion teases, wrapping an arm around her.
"They're going to come back when he recovers as well…we need help and badly," Agradd adds.
"I already called," Raven informs before turning to her communicator. "Be advised, thunderbirds are attacking every major city. Go for the leader that looks almost human," Raven talks, Agradd looking up to her before wrapping his arms around her and hugs her tightly.
"They all follow a leader. It's humanoid and bigger than the rest. Force them away from the cities and the flocks will follow, but if they die, the magic released will explode. Destroying everything for miles," Agradd adds.
"You copy all that?" Raven calls back, holding him tighter.
"Watchtower acknowledges. Is there any more information you can give us?" Martian Manhunter asks.
"They declared war because someone stole a vital artifact of theirs. It's called the medical staff of lightning and without it, they can't bring new thunderbirds into existence," Agradd informs.
"Acknowledge. We will be looking for the staff," Martian Manhunter calls back.
"It's kinda hard to miss. It's about five stories big and constantly spraying out lightning according to the memories of one of the thunderbird leaders," Agradd informs.
"Watchtower copies. Adding information. Any other information?" Martian Manhunter asks.
"Yeah, their leader hasn't moved yet," Agradd says.
"Watchtower copies," Martian Manhunter says cutting the line.
Agradd looks to Raven. "How the hell can someone steal something that big and why would they need something so powerful?"
Raven blinks and looks to him, keeping a strong grip on him as she flies down to a rooftop. "Staff of lightning that can control the thunderbirds in some way? Anything."
"No, it has no power over them like that. It's just a source of incredible energy. Basically, the staff charges the eggs and when the eggs hatch, they release a similar magical explosion like when a thunderbird leader dies, recharging the staff," Agradd informs based off the memories.
"How much magical power are we talking?" Raven asks.
"More than a flock leader has," Agradd answers seriously.
Raven brings her communicator up again. "We have another problem," she says, getting an idea of what's going on.
Egypt
"A staff five stories tall?" Superman asks in disbelief as everyone was brought up to speed over the communications as a giant scorpion is twitching on the sand after being hit by him.
Middle East
"Great. Can we not catch a break?" Flash asks as he is using the avian whistle to have Griffons follow him.
Greece
"It never seems to end," Wonder Woman says punching a minotaur in the face as she faces a warband of the creatures.
Cadmus HQ
"Yes, Mr. President. We will devote all our resources to locating this artifact," Waller says, having intercepted the communication.
The Light Meeting
"Medical staff of Lightning, huh?" Klarion says thinking about that.
"In any case, we need to find it. If just to get these thunderbirds to stop. I am constantly getting reports of damages they are causing to both our operations and my company's property," Luthor says.
