Raja Laventons' day started out just fine. He woke up to Rowlet chirping, had a cup of coffee with some breakfast mochi made by Beni, finished a pokédex entry, and finally was able to set out to the new camp the Galaxy Team had put in place on top of Deertrack Heights.

It was about halfway into his journey to the camp that he had spotted a rather peculiar site.

In the shadow of a large tree along the beach, where dirt and grass turned to sand, was a large feline with a small teenage boy leaning against it, seemingly asleep. On top of the teen was a curled up Pikachu with a rather large Gible chewing away on a berry beside them. Curiosity had gotten the better of him and as he neared the group the feline, a Luxray he had determined, opened a red hazed eye and stared at him.

Laventon stopped as the Luxray, a wild Alpha one at that, began to growl. The growl had such a reverberation to it that it shook the ground even from as far away as he was. The teen, who had been asleep, jerked up and looked around until his eyes landed on Laventon. Laventon watched as the teen placed a small hand on the large feline making the creature immediately stop growling before the teen stood up. The Pikachu, after having been startled awake as well, climbed up onto the teen shoulder, and the Gible tottered closer to the Luxray and plopped itself down where the teen had once sat.

"Morning," the teen said as he stretched and reached up to give his Pikachu a scratch behind its ear.

"M-Morning?" Laventon replied with a slight stutter, "A-ah-"

"I'm Ash," the teen said ignoring the stutter the man had developed as he thought that the man was just simply shocked at the large feline behind him, "This is my Pikachu, that's Gible, and our friend Luxray!"

"I'm Laventon, and did you say f-friend?" the man forced out of his mouth after the creatures greeted him as this Ash pointed out each of them.

"Of course! Luxray is our friend," Ash said as he nodded as if what he said was a normal sentence to say about a pokémon that towered over them and exuded feral energy. Laventon nodded as he kept his eyes switching between the teen and the Alpha Luxray. If the creature didn't seem to be hurting the teen or anyone around then he didn't need to ask for the Galaxy Team to step in and put the creature down.

"So where are you heading? You're only the third person I've seen out here," Ash stated as Gible toddled over and leaned against his leg. There was evidence of his feast on the scales around his mouth, but Ash paid no mind to the fact that his Gible was basically using him as a napkin.

"Up there," Laventon said as he pointed up to the highest point around them, "We, uh, have a camp up there that I'm heading to. You said you've seen a third person, who else have you seen?"

Ash tilted his head as he looked at the man and then up at the mountain the man would have to climb. "Yesterday I saw a girl, about my age I suppose, with a Dewott by her side, and four days earlier I saw a guy about my age with a Pikachu like me," Ash said as he walked over to the Luxray and grabbed his bag, "Would you mind a walking companion? I want to see this camp you're talking about if you don't mind."

The Luxray let out a rumbled chuff as it stood and shook its fur out while Ash turned to look at the man for an answer.

"As long as your friend doesn't harm anyone up there I don't see the problem," Laventon said as he scratched the back of his head in a nervous tick. Ash nodded and placed a hand on the Luxray to give it a couple of pats. He had recalled Gible after giving the dragon a scratch on his head just before making it to the path where Laventon waited.

"So, how did you come across your friend here?" Laventon asked a few minutes after they started walking.

"I met Luxray about a week ago," Ash said as the large feline growled at an approaching Geodude, "he was just a Luxio then. When I came across him I noticed that he was injured pretty badly and was just laying under a tree waiting for whatever his outcome was going to be. I couldn't just leave him like that. I spent a couple of hours sitting a bit away from him and tossing bits of Oran berries towards him to eat and every so often I inched closer. Before I knew it I was within tail length and saw how bad the injury was and thankfully Luxray tolerated me enough to spray a potion onto him. After that he followed me and I was more than happy to let him."

"What made him decide to evolve?" Laventon said as he looked at the teen as if he were in the presence of god for going near an injured Alpha.

"Another Alpha charged at me," Ash said as they reached a pathway that was lined with torches and Laventon announced that they were almost there, "Luxray didn't like that so he began to fight the Alpha and evolved to take it down."

Laventon nodded as he glanced at the large feline, who had Pikachu on his back, before focusing on the path before him. They had just got to the top of the path where it leveled out revealing a large flat area with a large rock hanging over the northern area of the flattop. In the middle were a few people setting up the finishing touches to the camp and talking to one of the Security Corp members was one of his helpers, Akari.

"Akari!" Laventon greeted and continued to walk forward even though Ash stopped a bit a ways behind him. Ash couldn't help that he had stopped. After all it seemed as though he was seeing Dawn again even though he knew that he would never get to see one of his best friends again. It just shocked him a bit seeing how much Dawn resembled this Akari person.

"Professor! Whoa!" Akari said as she skidded to a stop as her eyes caught sight of the Luxray, "Wh-"

"It's okay," Laventon said softly as gave her a wide smile, "the Luxray isn't going to harm anyone. He's pretty loyal to the human beside him. Listens quite well to him too."

"Who is he?" Akari asked, but as Laventon opened his mouth to answer a loud sound interrupted him, making him shoot his eyes upward to where the sound came from. Standing on top of the ridge was Wyrdeer, one of the Lords of the Obsidian Fieldlands, peering down at them. The great creature bound down only to run past them to Ash, who had just been standing there with a hand on Luxray to keep it from charging at the Lord.

Ash looked up at the taller pokémon. He had never seen this creature before and it was absolutely wondrous to look at. Its sleek gray and white fur, tall proud antlers, and soulful black eyes were a sight to see. The creature stomped a hoof and let out a snort as it shook its head a bit. Ash held still as Wyrdeer stepped forward and pressed their warm nose against his forehead for a moment before stepping back and giving Ash a bow to the amazement of the other humans there before bounding off to where it wanted to go.

What the others didn't hear was the deep soothing voice inside his head as the Wyrdeer touched his head.

"Lord Arceus has deemed thee their dear Chosen One. Should you need this Lord simply call out mine name and I shall hear and race to your side to aid thee when in need."

Ash reached up and placed his finger tips on the spot the Wyrdeer had touched as Laventon and Akari walked up to him. He lowered his hand to look at the two and gave them a smile, "I think he liked me," Ash simply said before laughing at their expressions. Luxray let out a low groan before turning and walking a bit away to lay down in a empty spot.

Ash hummed softly as he walked into Jubilife Village with Pikachu on his shoulder. The guard standing by the gate told him that he wasn't allowed to have Luxray in the village as free as he was, and so with a bit of reluctance the large Alpha stayed behind and kept his gaze on the guard. This was the first time Ash had stepped foot in the village in this time. It was small, with a few large buildings, a large pasture, and two long rows of housing.

Ash ignored the looks the villagers were giving him, having been warned by Laventon about how wary they were of newcomers. Now, Ash wasn't there to just be there. No, he had a purpose in being there. See Laventon had sent Rei, happy that he finally got a name to the face of the teen with the Pikachu, to him the other day while he was in the Horseshoe Plains checking up on an injured Eevee. The man had told their Captain about him, and she was curious about him. Laventon also found something that he wanted to show Ash.

And so here he was.

Ash waved to the guard in front of the largest building before walking up the stairs and into the open doorway. Upon entering the building Ash saw a stern looking woman, her back straight, shoulders back, short blue hair and stoic blue eyes speaking with one of the guards. She wore the same uniform he had seen Akari and Rei in and to Ash she looked very very familiar.

"Ash!" the teen turned as he heard his name being called and saw Laventon walking towards him with a wide smile on his face, "You finally made it! Welcome to Jubilife Village!"

"Thank you for inviting me Professor," Ash said as he greeted the man back.

"Come! Come!" Laventon said as he led the way over to the woman and guard causing the two to look over at them. The woman dismissed the guard before giving her full attention to Laventon and himself.

"Raja, am I to assume that this is the boy you were telling me about?" she asked as her gaze turned to Ash briefly before turning back to the older man.

"Yes! Captain Cyllene, this is Ash. Ash, this is the Captain of the Galaxy Team, Cyllene Withers," Laventon said, introducing them to each other.

"It's nice to meet you ma'am," Ash said as he gave her a respectful nod.

"You as well," Cyllene said, "Raja here has told me that you are from across the water. Which Region do you hail from?"

"Kanto," Ash answered easily, his Region didn't have another name this far back as Rota had already broken off from Kanto centuries before leaving Kanto to be called Kanto.

"That's a far ride in the waters," Cyllene replied, "Are you the only one that came here?"

Ash prepared for this kind of question, nodded his head and explained. The lie he came up with was that the boat he was on got caught up in a storm. The winds and large waves easily destroyed their boat leaving them all in the water. He was only able to make the trip to Hisui and not freeze in the water was because he had a water pokémon that could make the swim and flying types that could give his water type a break.

"I see," Cyllene said, "how are you with pokémon? Raja has said that you 'befriended' an Alpha?"

"Oh yes! Luxray is napping right outside the village gates at the moment since the guards didn't allow him inside," Ash said, "I would like to call myself fantastic with pokémon."

Cyllene nodded before turning to Laventon and spoke with him quietly enough that Ash couldn't hear what she was saying even though he was only a foot and a half away from the two. He saw Laventon nod before the Captain left the two of them alone. Ash let out a sigh as he followed Laventon when the older man gestured for him to. He was led to a large messy room beside the room Cyllene entered.

There was a large tree in one of the corners, a tank in another, and a cozy bed next to what looked like a heater. On the back wall was a cork board with several papers pinned to it. The desk, couch, and table that was in the room were covered in books and loose papers. Ash wondered how the man kept up with all his things if they were being kept like that.

"So this is what I want to show you," Laventon said, breaking Ash out of his observation. The teen turned to look at the Professor and saw the man holding an egg in his arms. It was a decent size for an egg, not the largest Ash had seen, and was solid white except for a black dot on the top of it.

"This is the first egg we have ever seen in the wild," Laventon said as he set it down onto a plush nest that sat on his desk, "Haven't a clue as to what pokémon it is supposed to be as we haven't seen any solid white pokémon with black on it. Could also be that there was a migrating pokémon that laid it and abandoned it."

"Are you sure there weren't any parents around?" Ash asked as he walked closer to the egg. He knew exactly what pokémon resided in the egg, but as far as he knew they were originally from Hoenn.

"Positive. We, Akari and I, observed the nest it was found in for a week and not a single pokémon went near it," Laventon replied.

"What are you going to do with it?" Ash asked as tore his gaze from the egg and looked up at Laventon.

"How would you like to raise it?" Laventon asked and managed to catch Ash off guard with the question, "No one here has any experience with eggs, perhaps you do?"

"I do have experience, in fact I've hatched and raised two of my own pokémon that I have with me," Ash said as he stood up a bit straighter, "are you sure?"

"Of course! I already asked Cyllene if it was alright, and as long as you come by every so often with the eggs' progress and when it hatches, you can take it," Laventon said as he gave Ash a large grin, "so what do you say? Are you taking the egg?"
