What if...Arthur and Uther discovered Merlin was a Dragonlord?

Merlin always knew destiny had something against him, some sort of grudge maybe, for always trying to thwart it or stop it in its tracks. He just didn't know, didn't think, to be careful of destiny retaliating at him. He was too busy watching out for Arthur he forgot that he was always in just as much danger, if not more. Well... he wouldn't forget anymore if he got out of this.

My first attempt at Whumptober 2021, and crikey, I'm already late! Expect 31 stories around the next 5 weeks or so with plenty of Arthur whump, Merlin whump, knight whump, and some magical potions and things. Rated T just in case - minor cursing and of course, some violence. Whumpees will be identified at the start of each chapter. All rights go to the BBC.

It just seems so obvious: Merlin is in love with him. But perhaps even a prince shouldn't assume such things, especially when he unwittingly stakes their friendship on it. Co-written with Mapplepie.
