Turning to his right side in his sleep, Simin was woken up to the call from Cinder. He picked his Scroll and tapped the answer button. "Hello...?" He yawned before a loud noise made him pull his Scroll from his ear then the call dropped. "Cinder...?"
In the morning, Team SLVR were headed to the Bullhead, Simin telling his team about the call.
"I'm positive they're alright." Lapis assured him.
"Are you?" He asked the silver eyed girl.
"Maybe it was a butt dial." Vella suggested.
"Like us, Team CMSN has always excelled in the field. Let's focus on our own mission." Ragora said.
"I've just got a bad feeling." Simin said.
"Simin..." Lapis started before an alarm sounded in the city and at the school. "Sounds like you may have been right to worry. That's the city's perimeter alarm."
"Then I'm changing our mission. Get on board, girls." He said then they got in the Bullhead, the Faunus being the last on. "Lapis, we'll meet your mother's teammates another time." He assured the Faunus, who nodded. "Take us to Vale!" He told the pilots.
The Bullhead flew to the city and Team SLMO watched.
"What's the alarm about?" Miltia asked as Onyx groaned and stumbled a bit. "Onyx?"
All eyes turned to the Faunus. "People are scared! Grimm are in the city!"
"What do we do, Steel?" Lysette asked.
"We suit up then see if we can get a ride with my dad." He replied then they left to do those very things.
In the square, Team CMSN were joined by Team RWBY.
"This is your fault, ladies!" Cinder said.
"We can hash this out later." Ruby said. "For now, just let us help you kill Grimm."
"Fine." The teens said then the right began to fight the monsters.
Meanwhile, Team SLVR came across Team JNPR and had their weapons ready.
"Stop! We're gonna help you kids." Jaune said. "So are Ruby and her team."
Lapis growled but Simin sighed. "We'll take all the help we can get. Pyrrha, give Nora a boost into the air. Ragora, get a power boost from your familiar." He said.
"On it, boss!" Ragora said then summoned her familiar and got in the air with it.
Cinder and Ruby were about to be attacked by a King Taijitu, but an explosion drew the attention of all three away as Ragora and Nora came into view, the latter smashing her hammer against its snout while the former's flavor made contact with the left eye before both pulled the trigger on their weapons and got blasted away from the monster, which fell where it was. Teams SLVR and JNPR helped Teams CMSN and RWBY take down Grimm as General Ironwood's flagship came into view with Teams SLMO and SSSN dropping into the fight.
Team RWBY were surprised and a little annoyed their spies were helping fight but chose to keep quiet for now.
Steel slashed through Grimm left and right with his axe, Lysette doing the same with her sword and used her Semblance with ice Dust to freeze and shatter the Grimm, Miltia slashed through many Grimm with her claws while Onyx killed Grimm with her twin sabers.
A Paladin came up from out of the hole and Alpha jumped from the mech and headbutted a Beowulf.
"Alpha!" Lapis called and he ran to her. She smiled at him. "Good boy!" She praised and petted him.
"Color me impressed, sister." Blake said as she walked to them with Nightshade at her side.
Onboard an incoming Bullhead were Team CFVY and Professor Peter Port before Team CFVY dropped from the Bullhead, Velvet and her blind teammate Fox Alistair charging ahead while the team's leader Coco Adel confidently walked ahead. The tallest member of the team and Velvet's assigned partner, Yatsuhashi Daichi simply stood up and pulled his sword from his back as Grimm surrounded him. He then smashed the ground, sending debris and the Grimm everywhere. Fox had one downed them jammed the blade of his right tonfa into its head while Velvet kicked one in the chin and backflipped. Fox looked in the direction of an Ursa Major then charged forward and kicked it into the air before rapidly slashing at it. To finish it, he punched it with both fists and sent it back a bit before it swelled up and exploded, sending spikes in all directions, even into Grimm.
"That was a nice hustle, Fox. You did a good job." Coco said as she walked to a Beowulf, and it snarled at her. She lowered her sunglasses a little. "Since you destroyed my favorite clothing store..." She started then raised her sunglasses to her eyes again and spat on the ground. "...you're gonna die." She said with a glare.
The monster moved to claw her down, but she deflected it with her purse then kicked it between it legs. The two were at eye level before Coco smashed her purse onto its head. Three more and a Deathstalker advanced to her, but she took out the Beowulves before jumping back to avoid the giant scorpion's stinger. Velvet went to open her box, but Coco looked at her.
"Don't waste that here, Velvet. You've spent all semester building it up." The fashionista said and the rabbit Faunus stood down. "I've got this." She added as her purse transformed into a giant minigun then she proceeded to slaughter the Grimm advancing to them.
Professor Port met up with Doctor Oobleck and the two fired their weapons at approaching Grimm. Professor Goodwitch stormed to the opening, blasting Grimm away from her with her riding crop before she used it to seal the opening.
After the fight, everyone gathered around while Roman was arrested. Ruby and Jaune turned to the three teachers. "We have no further business here with you and your students." Ruby said then the eight adults moved to walk away.
"Blake!" Lapis called and the two Faunus looked at each other while everyone else's eyes also turned to them. "It looks like there are things in the world that are worth putting aside our differences."
"Not many, little sister." Blake deadpanned before leaving with her friends.
A little while later, Team CMSN and Team SLVR sat at the edge of the school's docks and looked at the city.
"We did it." Mercury said.
"We did." Vella said.
"But we didn't solve everything. Many people were hurt, we still don't know why they did this, or why they helped us." Cinder said.
"Not every story has a happy ending, Cinder." Ragora said.
"Cinder has a point. There's no way Blake and her friends would've helped purely out of the goodness of their hearts." Lapis agreed.
"We don't have all the answers, but we do have many dangerous people behind bars. We should be proud of that." Emerald said.
"Absolutely. And if someone tries this again, we'll stop them." Neo said with her Scroll.
"So, what now?" Vella asked.
"We're more than prepared for the Tournament so...we rest?" Cinder suggested, earning agreements from her friends.
"Ozpin! To ensure safety and security during the Festival, we've reached out to General Ironwood, and he will be Co-Head of Security for the event." A member of the Vale Council said.
"'Co-Head', Councilman?" Ironwood asked.
"Commander Xiao Long has offered to be the other Head of Security. She's even providing some of her strongest fighters to help out, like Lie Ren and Nora Valkyrie."
"Councilman, with all due respect, I do not want Yang Xiao Long back, Lie Ren, or Nora Valkyrie on this premises." Ozpin calmly stated.
"I'm sorry, Ozpin, but that decision is out of your hands. The General and the Commander will both be Head of Security and soldiers under both of them will be provided. After the Festival, we will discuss your position at Beacon. The General's reports, as well as what the Commander herself, over these past weeks has us...concerned."
If Ozpin was mad, he didn't show it as the Council members left the call. "This is the right decision, Oz. I'll keep the people safe. Trust me." Ironwood said then ended the call.
Team SLMO met with Team RWBY and Team JNPR.
Weiss turned an ice cold glare to their spies. "What were you four thinking?!" She demanded.
"Would you truly have had us do nothing, Miss Schnee?" Steel snapped, shocking the CEO into silence. "Miss Rose said we were to keep up appearances, so we did just that."
"He's not wrong. Still, I'd call today a success." Ruby said.
"A lot of Blake's soldiers didn't make it out of the tunnels." Yang said.
"The White Fang is always ready to lay down our lives for the cause." Blake said.
"Weiss, your schedule is cleared to watch the fights of the Tournament." Pyrrha said.
"Nice! She and I can scope out the potential, then!" Yang said.
"Blake and I will lay low at one of my safehouses till it's time for the big finish." Ruby said. "Anything else?"
Everyone else shook their heads.
"Then we're all set." Ruby said. With that, she, Jaune, and Blake left while Team SLMO headed back to Beacon and the rest of Team RWBY and Team JNPR got ready for the Tournament.
