For Her Family, The Raven Will Soar:
Lilith Remember…The Final Peaceful Moment
I would like to say that human's saying, about time flying when you're having fun, was true, but I would be lying. In the eighteen months since showing Amity my secret hideaway, we had made it our regular study spot.
Like at the knee, Amity's a different person when she's away from the hassle of the limelight, and she really enjoys our time together. I, however, couldn't say the same; I think Emperor Belos was starting to lose his patience with me. I had failed numerous times in bringing my sister in, and Kikimora hadn't helped matters, with her constant ridicule.
Things had gotten so bad that I was keeping my "head Witch Clawthorne mask" on at all times. I decided that I needed some alone time, and retreated back to my hideaway, just before a howling rainstorm hit.
I was relaxing, planning on reading a book, when I heard the second of my door turning. While odd, I knew it most had been Amity; I had recently given her a copy of my key, just in case she needed some alone time herself.
We were surprised by what we saw; she was surprised to see me, and I was surprised by that near fresh bruise on her right cheek.
Instantly, I put my book down and hurried over to my student. I began asking her all kinds of questions as I gently took her by the wrist and led her into my bathroom. Before I treated the wound, I asked Amity once more who hurt her.
Amity tried to downplay the bruise, saying that she got into a small fight with her sister. She tried to laugh things off and say that Emira didn't have power behind her punches and she could take it.
No, that was a lie; I had meant Amity's older sister, and while I doubt that she could do much damage; Emira probably could sit on top of someone and punch them repeatedly, and all would just leave some light bruising, but the bruise on Amity…
No, that bruise was done by someone taller than Amity, and I had a sinking feeling I knew who did. I ignored the voice in the back of my head as I finished treating my student's injury. This time I had a good reason to ignore the voice; I had learned that the Blights were somewhat of an interest for the Emperor and now couldn't be approached without reasonable cause.
A part of me was both glad and sad that I didn't do anything against the Blight family. Sad that I could go against them without a cause, but glad as now I had a reason not to approach them. I still had the folder I was keeping on Amity status, just in case I needed it.
I finished up treating Amity and then set about helping her out of her soaked clothing. I used a quick charge spell and a drying spell so Amity wouldn't get sick. Howling rain doesn't boil, but that meant it was also wetter.
So, after getting Amity taken care of, I offered to allow her to stay with me until the storm let up. A howling rainstorm wasn't something any sane witch would want to go in. So, we returned to the living room, and took a seat on the couch. I grabbed my book, and Amity was surprised to find it was a children's book, Otabin actually.
I couldn't stop my blush from spreading across my face as I looked at the book. But Otabin was one piece of my childhood I wanted to keep, and I told Amity such. I was surprised when my student didn't judge, but, with her own bashful smile, asked if I could read her a few pages.
I think my smile was more fond then I realized as Amity settled down next to me and I began to read from the beginning of the story.
Amity must have been exchanged, as she was soon falling asleep against my shoulder. I would admit, this felt nice in ways I couldn't really understand at the time. I kept on reading, knowing that even a asleep one could still hear.
What she did next surprised me…she called me mom! That one sleepy word was enough to cause my entire face to heat up until steam was coming out of my ears. But what I did next surprised me more than I thought it would.
I gently repositioned Amity so her head resting comfortably on my lap, and I began gently running my fingers through her hair. I continued to read softly to the sleeping witch, as all the worry in the world seemed to melt and fade away in the darkness.
As I sat here, in my sister's home, with my ex-student in my lap, reliving these old memories, I came to a grim realization! This would be the last peaceful memory I would have for a long time.
In the following months I would continue my restless pursuit of my sister, one that would test my sanity more times than I care to admit. Then the Walk-along would happen and they would lead to the event that should have destroyed my relationship with Amity forever.

And with that, we reached the end of Lilith Remembers. We're reaching the end folk, just the final chapter and the story is done.
But before that theory time! I couldn't be the only one who found it odd that Hunter showed up after the private sales showing at Blight's Industries, and like Kikimora said, Belos has eyes everywhere. So, I figure that Belos was keeping eyes on certain witches, like the Blights, and when they had the perfect weapon (For Belos) Hunter came in and grabbed them up. All while keeping the Blights under a tight watch.
