Attention all readers! If you are looking for Pokemon fanfiction that follows the storyline of Ash Ketchum and he has non-canon Pokemon, then my Pokemon fanfiction is not for you. I follow the franchise! So that means, I will be using the Pokemon that the creators in Japan use for the games as well as the show. Am I going to use any of the Alolan, Galarian and Hisuian forms of certain Pokemon throughout my fanfics? That depends on if Ash and Jordan catch any Alolan and Hisuian Pokemon as well as if I chose to write the Galar region. If you don't like that I'm not going to be creating and using non-canon Pokemon, then you may go search for Pokemon fanfiction writers that do.

I also want everyone to know that I don't like being rushed. So, if you want to read the next chapter, you will have to wait until I have finished it. I hope that you will like it and Happy Reading!

I DONT OWN POKEMON! I ONLY OWN THE OC AND CREATING HER POKEMON TEAM FROM THE SHOW!

The Ghost of Maiden's Peak

Facing the water, there was a statue of a woman with a red flower in her hair. "I'm waiting for you. Come back to me. Return to your beloved." said the woman. "I'm waiting for you." The woman's voice got deeper as the ghost of the woman turns into a ghost Pokémon, who then cackles.

Narrator: Since last time, Ash, Jordan and their friends have been on a ferry, sailing away from the resort of Porta Vista to continue on their Pokémon journey.

Jordan: Our time in Porta Vista was weird.

Narrator: No kidding. Suddenly, Misty spots a landmark.

"Hey. Look over there." said Misty.

"Pika!" said Pikachu.

"Rio!" said Meeko.

"Great. That must be Maiden's Peak, that's where we get off." said Ash. "We'll be landing soon."

"Awesome." said Jordan. The look on Brock's face told a different story. "Ah, it wouldn't matter to me if I never saw land again." said Brock. "I just wasted another summer."

"But we had a whole summer of adventures." said Ash.

"And you didn't waste it." said Jordan.

"For kids, summer means playing on the beach, splashing around and having fun, but for me…" said Brock. "summer means bathing suits and girls to wear them. Ah! Now bikini season's over and I'll have to wait another whole year to meet a girl."

"Stop your whining, Brock." said Jordan.

"We're really at the end of our rope." said Meowth, looking at the water.

"No room. No room service." James complained.

"Stop whining. We don't have a cent and at least this beats swimming." said Jessie.

"Maiden's Peak welcomes the passengers arriving from Porta Vista!" said the man over the speakers. "We invite you all to attend our annual summer's end festival, now in progress."

"Cool! A festival!" said Ash.

"Looks like fun. Let's check it out." said Misty.

"Come on, you guys." said Jordan. "Lets go have fun."

"Riolu!" said Meeko, smiling.

"I'll ride the Ferris wheel all alone." said Brock.

Ash and Misty looked over at Jordan. "I already got this. He's not going to go on it alone." she tells them when Brock looks down the docks.

"Huh? Who's that?" Brock asked. He sees the maiden, standing there, looking towards the ocean. "Whoa. What a knockout."

"Yeah, he's definitely not going to be alone on the Ferris wheel." Jordan said worriedly when Brock was knocked down by people getting off the ferry.

"Pikachu." said Pikachu.

"Olu." said Meeko. The woman looks over at them before turning into a ghost Pokémon.

"Hey, she's gone." said Brock.

"Pikachu." said Pikachu, thinking.

"Rio." said Meeko, tilting her head.

"Cheer up, Brock." said Ash. "We're at a festival."

"Yeah. Let's have some fun." said Misty.

"Please, Brock." begged Jordan, picking him up and away from the harbor.

"It's a festival." said James as he, Jessie and Meowth popped up on the harbor dock.

"Heh, people spend a lot of money at these festivals, but they never pay attention, so they drop their change all over the place." said Jessie.

"Meowth want a cotton candy." said Meowth.

"Money is sweeter." said James, before looking in the same direction as Brock had did earlier. "Ooh! Sweet!"

"Snap out of it!" said Jessie, hitting him on the head, causing him to groan. "Stop daydreaming! That festival is waiting, and I can smell money."

"I can smell corn dogs." said Meowth as the two of them take off.

"Ooh." said James, looking back to see that she had disappeared. At the festival, people were cheering.

"Let's go on the Ferris wheel."

"Yeah! Woo!"

"Let's go on the Ferris wheel." said Misty as she, Ash and Jordan chuckled.

"She was the most beautiful girl I ever seen." said Brock.

"Huh?" the others gasped.

"Hey, you, there." said an old woman, catching their attention.

"Are you the…?" asked Brock, turning around and screamed. "Ah, you're not that beautiful."

"Who's not beautiful?" the old woman asked, then gets closer to Brock. "Beware. Not of old beauty like me but of a beautiful young woman or you'll meet a cruel fate."

"Ah! That girl on the rock. I have to meet her." said Brock.

"Ah, I must be the beautiful girl she's talking about but I'd never hurt Brock." said Misty.

"I don't think you would ever hurt him in a million years." said Jordan.

"I was talking about an elegant young woman, not some scrawny little blabbermouth like you." said the old woman.

"Scrawny?" asked Misty.

"Real scrawny. Ow!" said Ash as both girls hit him.

"You're not that scrawny, Misty." said Jordan.

"Thanks Jordan." said Misty. "That's it. I don't have to stand around here and be insulted. Let's get out of here."

"You, my dear brother, have to learn when to keep your mouth shut." said Jordan, as she grabs her brother and Misty grabs Brock.

"The beautiful woman. A cruel fate." said Brock. "The cruelest fate would be never to see her again."

"Hm. Huh." said Team Rocket as they looked for money on the ground.

"Nothing! There's no money anywhere at this festival!" complained Jessie.

"Not a quarter, nickel or dime. Not even a penny." said James.

"What kind of cheap festival is this?" asked Meowth. "We got to keep looking till we find something." Suddenly a penny shined in the light. "Ah! A penny!" James exclaimed.

"Hold it right there." said a woman and behind him was the old woman.

"Hmm? I dropped this." he tells the woman.

"I've been watching you. You're up to no good." said the old woman, then held a magnifying glass so she could get a closer look at James. "And there's no good in your future."

"Who? The police? The sheriff, the FBI?" James asked.

"I see a young and beautiful woman who would lead you to a cruel fate." the woman said, repeating her warning from earlier.

"I don't need a fortunate teller to know that." said James. "Some woman is always causing me trouble. It's a curse. Ah."

"Who do you mean?" asked Jessie.

"Good afternoon." said Officer Jenny, approaching them.

"Huh?"

"I'm with the local police department and I know exactly what you're all doing." said Officer Jenny, causing Team Rocket to scream. "I see you found some change that someone dropped. Whenever money's lost, even a penny, it must be reported to the authorities."

Stunned, James suddenly drops the penny into her hand. "Thanks for being such an observant citizen." Officer Jenny said to Team Rocket. "Now, if you'll just follow me, we'll file a report at the station."

"The station?" asked James.

"We don't want to get in your way, so why don't you go ahead and file it without us and keep the change?" Jessie inquired. "Bye-bye!"

"Welcome. To celebrate the summer's end festival, we will now display the shrine of the Maiden's greatest treasure." said an old man with the treasure next to him. "For 2,000 years, this painting has hung within the shrine of the Maiden. Once each year, it is removed from the shrine and displayed during this festival. As I unveiled the painting, please gaze upon it with reverence."

As he removes the cloth from the painting, Ash, Misty and Jordan gasped as they look at the painting. "Who's that?" asked Jessie.

"She's cute." said Meowth.

"Ah, it's her." said James.

"But it can't be." said Brock, both he and James sighed as they started at the painting of the woman. "She's so incredibly beautiful."

"She's the girl of my dreams. Don't wake me up." said James as the both of them walked towards the painting.

"If he's here than so are the other two." Jordan whispered to Ash and Misty.

"Stay back!" said the old man. "The woman in the painting perished over 2,000 years ago."

"2,000 years." said Brock in a daze.

"She was in love with a brave and handsome young man, but he left her and sailed away to fight in a war." the old man explained.

"I'll wait for you forever. Come back to me. Farewell." said the Maiden.

"And she did wait for a very long time, hoping to see his ship on the horizon." said the old man. "But her true love never returned to that place again. Still, she waited and waited, never moving from that spot, until finally her body was turned into stone, just like the cliff upon which she stood. To this day, she waits for her love to return."

"Just tell me. Where's this rock?" Brock asked.

"Maiden's rock is not far from this shrine." said the old man.

"So that's Maiden's rock." said Brock, looking at the statue facing the ocean. "It's the most beautiful rock I've ever seen."

"Riolu." said Meeko, staring at the statue as she feels something off about it.

"I know. It's giving me weird vibes too." said Jordan.

"I don't care if she's made of stone. I'm still in love with her." said James.

"If she were my girlfriend, I'd make sure she was never out of my sight." said Brock.

"No one would steal her from me, not even Team Rocket." said James. "I'll fight them to keep her safe."

"James you're insane." said Jessie, keeping him from going over the edge. "Why would we steal a thing like that?"

"We could steal the other thing." suggested Meowth.

"What thing?" asked Jessie.

"Pokémon are valuable but so are works of art." Meowth tells her. "Let's swipe that painting."

"If we grab that painting, we could make a bundle." said Jessie.

"Oh, Jessie! Jessie!" shouted James, returning her attention to him dangling off the side of the cliff. "Before you grab it, grab ahold of me. Whoa." Just as she grabs him, James pulls them over the edge, hitting the water. "Team Rocket is really slipping." said Meowth, shrugging his shoulders and finally night fell around them.

"No matter how long you wait here, a rock is a rock, Brock." said Ash, looking over at Jordan and Meeko who were staring up at the night sky.

"Yeah, let's go back to the festival." said Misty. "This is boring."

"And two of us are really bored!" complained Jordan.

"Ri!" Meeko said in agreement.

"Why do the three of you go back." said Brock. "I want to stay a little bit longer."

"You remember where we're staying tonight, right?" asked Ash, pulling Jordan up from the ground.

"The Pokémon center near the port. I'll make it back by curfew." said Brock and Ash sighs.

"I'm worried about him." said Jordan.

"Me too." said Ash.

"Don't worry about me. I'll be okay." said Brock.

At the Pokémon center, it was nearing 11 o'clock. "11 o'clock. Curfew time. Curfew time. Curfew time." said the Pidgey as it pops out of the clock. Jordan rested her head against Misty as the two of them looked at the clock.

"I'm really getting worried. Brock still isn't back yet." said Misty.

"Hmm. Huh?" said Ash, looking up and sees the metal doors closing. "Wait. I'll go out and look for him."

"Hold it." said Nurse Joy, grabbing Ash by the collar. "Don't you realize it's your bed time?"

"Yes, but…" said Ash.

"Staying up late is bad for your skin and it makes you irritable and it ruins your appetite." Nurse Joy said, laying it into him. "I won't allow it. Now go to bed this instant."

At the shrine, an alarm went off in Meowth's sleeping bag. "What time is it?" he asked looking at the clock. "Wake up. Time to steal the painting. Wake up, you two."

"Beauty sleep." murmured Jessie.

"Hmm, beautiful, I must meet you. I'm coming to you." said James. The wind whistled past them as dark clouds appeared overhead.

The doors of the shrine opened and the ghost of the Maiden appeared. "What's that?" asked Meowth as the ghost of the Maiden walked out of the shrine, only to scream in fear. She looks up at him, energy came off of her. "Must be dreaming. Back to sleep. Meowth." said Meowth, going back to sleep.

"My love, I'm waiting for you." said the Maiden, floating by Team Rocket.

"Ah, who said that? Who are you?" asked James, looking down from his sleeping bag and receives a smile. "It's you. So it really was you."

Still sitting on the ground, Brock continues to stare at the statue. "2,000 years." Brock said to himself. "Huh?" Brock turns around to see the Maiden behind him.

"I've been waiting for you for such a long time." the Maiden tells Brock.

"It's you. It's really you." said Brock as the Maiden nodded. As the sun rose the next day, Ash, Misty and Jordan were looking for their friend. "Brock!" shouted Ash.

"Brock, where are you?" Misty and Jordan called out.

"Pikachu." said Pikachu.

"Riolu!" said Meeko.

"James? James?" Jessie called out. "If you're not here, at least come out and tell us."

"That's right!" shouted Meowth.

"Hey, Brock!" shouted Ash, then turns around to see Jessie and Meowth.

"Hm? Huh?"

"Oh!" said Jessie.

"You again." said Ash.

"Yuck."

"Double yuck."

"I've finally found you." Jessie said to Ash and Jordan, before realizing that they weren't James. "Oh, wait a minute, you're not the one I was looking for."

"Shocking." said Jordan.

"Hey, are you looking for somebody too?" asked Ash.

"Ahem. Prepare for trouble and make it double." said Jessie before rolling her eyes. "Doing this by myself is a real drag."

"I'll say. Don't tell me that you're going to do the whole motto by yourself?" said Jordan.

"To protect the world from devastation. To unite all peoples within our nation. To denounce the evils of truth and love." said Jessie.

"To extend our reach to the stars above." James said, muffled.

"Jessie?"

"James."

"This is a new one." said Jordan, as they looked to see where his voice was coming from.

"It's kinda creepy." said Misty.

"Rio." said Meeko.

"Ah, Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light." said Jessie.

"Surrender now or prepare to fight. Ooh!" said James as he came out of the shrine.

"Ah!"

"He looks awful." said Jessie.

"Worse than usual." said Meowth, followed by Brock. Both men were smiling as they laid on the ground. "Brock, what happened?" asked Ash.

"They're smiling." Jordan said, taking a closer look. "It's a smile that I don't plan on ever having in my life."

"Rio?" asked Meeko.

"Both of them are smitten by someone." Jordan explained. "In this case, they're both smitten by the ghost of the Maiden."

"No way. That's not possible." said Ash.

"Yes way." argued Jordan, stomping her foot. "It can happen."

"Pull yourself together." said Ash, glaring at his sister as he helps Brock James as he grabs one of her legs.

"What do you think you're doing?" Jessie asked as she shakes James on the ground.

"So everything turned out just as I predicted." said the old woman.

"Huh?" they all said.

"It's the old woman." said Ash.

"Obviously, these two have both seen the Ghost of the Maiden." she tells them.

"Ghost of the Maiden?" they all asked.

"I love her. I love her. I love her." said James with a huge smile.

"Me too. Me too. Me too." said Brock, smiling from ear to ear. Both of them sighed as they hugged each other. "See? I told you Ash." said Jordan.

"They're possessed. Pikachu." said Ash.

"Pikachu!" shouted Pikachu, sending a thunderbolt at James and Brock, causing them both to groan.

"Uh, who am I? I am Brock." said Brock, sitting up from the shock.

"Brock's back." said Ash.

"Yes! Riol!" cheered Jordan and Meeko.

"I'm James from Team Rocket." said James. "Eeh!"

"He's back." said Jessie, placing a hand on her face.

"But not to normal." said Meowth as James passes them, looking like he was still on cloud 9.

"Wanna try scratching them, Meowth?" suggested Jordan.

"All men who pass this way fall under her spell." said the old woman. "It's always the same story, over and over. We find them here acting like zombies with the life sucked out of them, babbling like idiots. It's the work of that Maiden's ghost, still waiting for her young soldier to return. It's just as I warned you."

"So what? Who cares as long as I can be with her?" asked Brock. Ash waves his hand in front of Brock. "Ah, he isn't cured." said Ash. Suddenly a sharp pain came across the back of Brock's head. Behind him was Jordan with a baseball bat in her hands, angrily glaring at him.

"YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE WITH HER!" screamed Jordan, causing everyone to jump back. "SO GET HER OUT OF YOUR HEAD!"

"Riolu?" asked Meeko, pointing to the baseball bat in her hands.

"I keep one in my backpack for emergencies." Jordan tells her.

"She's scarier than last time." said Misty.

"Yeah she is." said Ash.

"Pikachu." said Pikachu.

"I learn from the best." said Jordan.

"I'm scared. You've got to do something!" said James.

"There's only one thing we can do." said the old woman.

"What?" they all asked her.

"We have stickers." she replied, holding up a stack, then placed one on each of them. "These are anti-ghost stickers. Ah, however…"

"What's the catch?" asked Ash and Jordan.

"I can't just give these stickers away for free." said the old woman.

"Uh, ah!" said Ash, falling to the ground. "Oh, well. If it's the only thing that'll help."

"We'll stick stickers all over the place." said Misty as she and Ash sticked stickers on the outside of the shrine. Jordan, Meeko, Pikachu, Jessie and Meowth got to work on placing stickers on Brock and James. "This'll really work, right?" asked James.

"Chu." said Pikachu, falling forward and a sticker went on his face.

"I hope so." said Jordan, gently getting the sticker off of Pikachu. "I want the old Brock back."

"Shut your mouth." said Jessie, placing a sticker over James' mouth. Night had fallen around the sticker filled shrine and the group was hiding.

"Will she come?" asked Jessie.

"Oh, she'll come." said Meowth.

"This better work." said Ash.

"It better." said Jordan.

"Let's hope." said Misty. Outside of the shrine, the wind picked up and tore off the stickers.

"She's here!" shrieked the old woman and the Maiden appeared at the doors, causing them to scream in terror.

"It's you." said Brock as he stood up.

"I've been waiting for you." said the Maiden.

"Yes, I've been waiting too." said Brock.

"I'm scared. Really, really scared." said James.

"I wanted to meet you." the Maiden tells them.

"And I, you." said Brock. Just as she starts to leave, Brock was levitated out of the shrine along with James. "Brock!" shouted Ash and Jordan.

"But why?" asked James. "Why aren't the stickers working?"

"Maybe because…" said Meowth.

"We got them…" said Jessie.

"For free." they both tell him.

"Free? What do you mean, free?" he asked them.

"A two for one deal." said Jessie, then points over to Ash, Misty and Jordan. "We got one set free for every set they bought. It was a real bargain."

"You used freebies?" asked James.

"Oops." said Jessie.

"I can't believe you're letting that ghost get me, just because you're both so cheap." James lectured them.

"You don't want to go?" Jessie asked.

"Of course I don't want to go." said James, then let's go of the banister. "I don't want to go. I don't want to go. I don't want to go."

"Grab him!" shouted Ash as he and Misty grabs Brock's feet. Jordan grabs ahold of Ash's waist.

"Wait, Brock!" shouted Misty.

"Pika!" said Pikachu.

"Riolu!" said Meeko.

"Hey, let me go!" Brock tells them.

"We don't want to!" shouted Jordan, pulling on Ash's waist. "We want you here with us!"

"I don't want to go!" James cried out when suddenly a fire ball went through the ghost of the Maiden, causing him to fall. "Whoa."

"Hey, girl. You can't take him." said Jessie as James hits the water below. "You haven't got a ghost of a chance." James then runs the side of the cliff, causing them to gasp.

"Ah!" screamed Misty and Jordan.

"You really do care." said James.

"It's not because of you." Jessie tells James. "Girls like her disgust me. Always waiting around for her man, as if she were his faithful pet. She can't stand the thought of losing him. She cries. But I'd say, see you later. There are plenty more fish in the sea."

"I could sure go for some fish." said Meowth.

"I've been waiting. You cannot interfere." said the Maiden, creating a huge gust of wind to bring forth some spirits.

"Ash…." said Jordan.

"Don't worry, Jordan. I got you." he said, pulling her against him.

"What is that?" asked Misty.

"Not any Pokémon I know." said Ash, taking out Dexter.

"No Pokémon entry found." said Dexter.

"They're not Pokémon?" asked Ash and the spirits swooped all around them.

"Still searching." said Dexter.

"Oh." said Ash, Misty and Jordan as Ash points Dexter all around until landing on the Maiden.

"Pokémon entry found. Gastly. A ghost Pokémon. It is usually invisible. Its specialty is hypnosis." said Dexter.

"Gastly? You're really a Pokémon?" asked Ash.

"And one that talks other than Meowth over here?" asked Jordan.

"Hey!" said Meowth.

"What? It's a good thing." said Jordan.

"So you finally figured it out." said Gastly, speaking as the Maiden. "Sometimes I'm the ghost of the 2,000-year-old Maiden….(transforming into the old woman) And sometimes, I'm the mysterious old woman. But no matter what the disguise, I'll always be…Awfully Gastly."

"Well, Gastly, time for a battle. Pikachu?" said Ash.

"My hypnotic powers can work on other Pokémon too including little rodents." said Gastly.

"Pika." said Pikachu.

"Riolu." said Meeko.

"Stop a rodent…with a mouse trap." said Gastly, transforming into a mousetrap with cheese on it. Pikachu screams as he was chased by Gastly.

"Mouse traps won't work on Meowth." said Meowth, with his claws drawn out.

"So, Meowth, you want to play games with me?" Gastly asked, mocking him. "Here's a cat toy I think you'll enjoy." Gastly then transforms into a ball and Meowth goes into cat mode.

"Meowth. Meowth. Meowth." said Meowth.

"Oh my god." said Jordan.

"Go, Ekans!" shouted Jessie.

"Ekans!" hissed Ekans.

"A snake's natural enemy is a mongoose." said Gastly, transforming into a mongoose, as it was wrapped in Ekans. "Dinner time."

"Your turn." said Jessie as Ekans runs away screaming.

"Um, uh, Koffing, Poison Gas Attack." said James.

"Koffing." said Koffing, releasing its Poison Gas. "Huh?"

"Smoking is prohibited." said Gastly, stomping on Koffing with its mongoose foot.

"Jordan, whatever you do, don't send out Meeko." said Misty.

"Oh, I don't plan on it." said Jordan as Meeko cowers in her arms. "We're scared as it is."

"Rio!" said Meeko, nodding.

"My turn now. Charmander, I choose you." said Ash, sending out Charmander.

"Char! Char!"

"Well, now. Here's something for you, squirt." said Gastly, transforming into a fire extinguisher.

"Cha!" screamed Charmander, holding its tail as Gastly tries to put it out.

"Now who shall I defeat?" he asked.

"Squirtle, Bulbasaur, attack together." said Ash, taking out both Pokémon.

"Bulba!"

"Squirtle."

"Ha! What a nuisance. This is two easy." said Gastly, then transforms into Blastoise and Venusaur. "Here are Bulbasaur's and Squirtle's evolved forms, Blastoise and Venusaur. And just for fun, I'll combine them into one super-Pokémon to make Venustiose. Try that on for size."

"That is an image I will never get out of my head." said Jordan, trembling as Squirtle and Bulbasaur screamed in terror.

"We lose. It's just too strong." said Ash.

"Then how about this?" asked Misty, holding a cross out at Gastly.

"What's that?" asked Gastly.

"It's a cross." she tells the ghost Pokémon before taking out other items from her bag. "I've also got garlic, a stake and a hammer."

Jordan giggled as Ash and Brock gave her weird looks. "Uh, what do I look like, a vampire or something?" Gastly asked, sarcastically when suddenly bells were ringing in the distance. "Huh?"

"What's happening?" asked Ash, watching Gastly withering in pain from the bells.

"I may not be a vampire, but I hate sunlight." Gastly tells them. "It's time for me to go until the next festival. Don't forget the ghost of the Maiden. She and the old lady will return next year too." Gastly disappears from their sight.

"That was ghastly." said Misty.

"Yeah." said Jordan.

"Rio." said Meeko.

"I'll say." said Ash.

"Pikachu." said Pikachu.

"Hey, look! The sun." said Meowth as they watched the sun rise over the water. Tiny boats with candles lit inside sailed across the water.

"At the end of every summer, the visitors send out these tiny boats, each one with a candle to help light the way for any wandering spirits who can't find their way back home." Officer Jenny explained to Brock.

"This summer is over but your legend will continue to live on." thought Gastly as he sits on one of the boats, posing as both the young Maiden and the old woman. The real Ghost of the young Maiden appears from its statue.

"Thank you, Gastly." she said.

"My pleasure." he said. "I enjoy keeping alive all the old legends that people have forgotten over the years, and if I do a good job of it, I make a few bucks as well."

"I'll see you again next festival." said the young Maiden. "I'll be waiting until that day when my true love returns to me at last."

"Well, I am a ghost Pokémon." said Gastly. "Perhaps one day I'll meet the young man you love, and if I do, I'll remind him that his maiden still longs for him to return."

"Thank you and goodbye." said the Maiden as she goes back into the statue.

Brock sighs as he looks up at the rock statue. "If only you were 2,000 years younger." said Brock before sighing again. "Maybe next year."

At the last night of the festival, Team Rocket was banging on the drums. "I think I'm doing a bang-up job." said James.

"Let's drum up some fun." said Jessie.

"Doo-dee-doo-dee-doo-dee-doo" sang Meowth on the flute.

"A ghost Pokémon." said Ash as he, Jordan, Pikachu and Meeko were looking down at Dexter. "Gastly."

"Pikachu." said Pikachu.

"Riolu." said Meeko.

"I don't think I'll be catching a ghost Pokémon anytime soon." said Jordan.

"Me either." said Ash.

"Sorry I'm late." said Misty, wearing a pink flowery kimono with a big red bow and holding a fan. "Come on, you two. Let's dance."

"Uh, sure." said Ash.

"You too, Pikachu and Meeko." she added.

"Pika! Riolu!" said both Pokémon.

Narrator: And so the summer festival draws to a close. There's autumn in the air, which means that poor Brock won't get back to the beach until next year. But cheer up, Brock. A lot can happen in a year's time.

Jordan, with her hair down from its high pony tail: I feel bad that he won't get to go until next year, but he does have me and Misty.

Meeko: Riolu.

Pikachu: Pikachu.

Narrator: That's right. Having fun at the Festival?

Jordan: You bet I am! I wish that you could join us though. You would be having fun with us.

Narrator, sighing: I know. Who knows what new adventures and romances are waiting just over the horizon?
