After the death of his mother when he was only 11 and his father leaving his life when he was 3, 15 year old Peter Quill was forced to move on with his life. Peter Quill didn't want to go back to Earth- not that he was scared or anything- he just didn't want to. Saddly life vary rarely listens to him. The Guardians of the Galaxy came to Terra expecting a stupid, little planet, they had no idea that Terra might be a bit stronger than they ever though. And what's this about an Infinity Stone that used to be on Earth?

Tony accidentally brings the Guardians of the Galaxy to Earth, injuring Peter Quill in the process and destroying their ship. Stranded on Earth and cooped up in Stark Tower, they think it can't get any worse. Until Thanos comes looking for the Tesseract- which is on Asgard. Or is it?

When Peter learns about Thanos's failed invasion, the Guardians go to Earth in order to warn them about what's been going on with the rest of the Galaxy.

The Guardians of the Galaxy now know that an entire galaxy is depending on them to protect it from evil where it appears, and their journey takes them to Earth, where the Avengers find that they have to rely on each other more than ever to protect the Earth, knowing that no one else can be trusted to. This was the Age of Miracles. Post-TWS, Post-GOTG, Pre-AoU.
