CHAPTER TTTTWWWOOOO
Play this: watch?v=rJ6eGtsgbfM
Villager looked out the window of the airship heading to Beacon Academy. The Kingdom of Vale was WAY bigger than any town he had been to before.
Also, last night, he had learned a few things.
Firstly, he learned more about Dust. Dust was a sort of ammunition that could be used by other people. There were all sorts of kinds of dust, Fire, Ice, Gravity, etc. It could be triggered by a couple of different things, but the main thing was a person's Aura.
Aura was, as Ozpin defined it, the manifestation of one's soul. A person's Aura could be used for a wide range of abilities but it's main use was to protect a person from Harm. It becomes stronger when a person trains it. And if they train it hard enough, they could develop their Semblance.
A Semblance was, in short, a person's special ability. Villager easily understood this as he saw Ruby, that girl who helped the Crime Boss and that Lady from before's semblance in use last night.
Villager thought it was cool! He couldn't wait to see other people's weapons and semblances at Beacon.
Another thing was those creatures from before. They were called Grimm, creatures of Darkness that had no soul, therefore lacking an Aura.
Villager luckily received some of Ozpin's Aura last night. He recited some weird incantation, and now Villager had a slightly darker shade of green aura. Although, that would mean that he had to unlock his semblance. However, his pocket ability might be considered his semblance, maybe he'll stick with that.
Villager snapped out of his trance when he heard commotion around him. First he saw Ruby with another Girl with Blonde Hair as well as another Kid with Blonde hair that didn't really look too good.
Villager decided to go talk with Ruby and the other girl.
"Oh, I can't believe my little sister's going to Beacon with me!" The Blonde said, squeezing Ruby in a hug. "This is the best day ever!"
Oh, so this was Ruby's sister that she was talking about.
"Please stop." Ruby said, suffocated in the hug.
"But I'm so proud of you!" The blonde said.
"Really, sis, it was nothing." Ruby said.
"What do you mean? It was incredible! Everyone at Beacon is going to think you're the bees knees!"
BEES?! WHERE!?
"I don't wanna be the 'bees knees', okay?." Ruby said. "I don't wanna be any kind of knees! I just wanna be a normal girl with Normal knees."
Oh yeah, Ruby basically skipped two Grades to be here.
"What's with you? Aren't you excited?" The Blonde asked.
"Of course I'm excited! I just...I got moved ahead two years. I don't want people to think I'm special or anything." Ruby said.
"But you are special." The blonde said, putting her arm around Ruby.
Villager noticed he was basically eavesdropping on the situation, so he decided to make his presence known. He whistled to get their attention.
"Oh! Villager! Hi!" Ruby exclaimed, kneeling down to his level. "It's good to see another familiar face other than my sister here." Villager nodded as they fist bumped each other.
"How nice! You've already made a friend!" The Blonde said. "Ruby, aren't you going to introduce me?"
"Oh yeah, Villager this is my sister Yang." Ruby said. "Yang, this is Villager.
"Villager? What kinda name is Villager?" The girl now named Yang asked.
"I dunno, that's just what his name is." Ruby said.
Villager walked over to Yang and did his Greetings Reaction.
"Whatever, nice to meet you little guy!" Yang greeted. "Don't think I would ever expect someone like you to enroll in Beacon. You must be heavily underestimated all the time, huh?"
Villager nodded. She had no idea.

The 3 of them then turned to a screen that was displaying the news about the robbery last night. Villager found out that the Crime Boss went by the name of Roman Torchwick. Apparently, he's a wanted Criminal.
Another thing on the news was a civil rights protest, by people called Faunus. From the looks of it, Faunus seemed to be people with ears, tails or other body parts of a specific animal. It also seemed that they weren't being treated as equally as normal humans. Villager saddened at the thought of humans and animals not getting Along back where he's from.
The news also talked about a group called the White Fang. It was about to go on until the screen turned off and showed the Lady who saved Villager and Ruby last night. "Hello, and welcome to Beacon!"
"Who's that?" Yang asked. Villager did his Curiosity expression as he was wondering the same thing.
"My name is Glynda Goodwitch."
"Oh." Yang said.
So that was her name. Glynda Goodwitch…
"You are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy." Glynda said. "Our world is experiencing an incredible time of Peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, It is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now, it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to Protect our world." Glynda's hologram then began to fade away.
Villager was only here because he had nowhere else to go, but he might as well participate in Beacon's classes.
"Wow!" Ruby said as she, Yang and Villager looked at the view. "You can see Signal from up here!...I guess home isn't too far after all."
Yang put her hand on Ruby's shoulder. "Beacon's our home now."
Those words rang through Villager's head. For some weird reason, it stuck with him.
Villager was snapped out of his trance when he heard some weird noises. He and the 2 sisters looked to see the Blonde dude from earlier, who looked like he was on the verge of throwing up.
"Well...I guess the view isn't for everyone." Yang said while Villager sweatdropped.
"It was a nice moment while it lasted." Ruby said.
"I wonder who we're gonna meet!" Yang said.
"I just hope they're better than Vomit Boy." Ruby replied. "OH YANG, GROSS, YOU HAVE PUKE ON YOUR SHOE!"
Ew, no thanks.
"Gross, Gross, Gross…" Yang said.
"Get away get away!" Ruby exclaimed. Villager did his Laughter Reaction before he chased after them.
Everyone got off as soon as the aircraft landed. Villager saw that there were more ships that were transporting students after them.
Villager looked around. The place was HUGE. A huge castle-like building stood before him.
He decided to stick with Ruby and Yang because he didn't really know anyone else here and also because why not.
"The view from Vale's got nothing on this place." Yang said.
Ruby then gasped. "Sis! That person's got a collapsible staff! And she's got a firesword!" She said, fangirling over people's weapons.
"Easy there, little sister they're just weapons." Yang said.
'Oh yeah. Ruby only had a scythe that can transform into a gun, giving her a multitude of different abilities in her arsenal. Not that big of a deal.' Villager thought sarcastically.
"Just weapons?!" Ruby exclaimed. "They're an extension of ourselves! They're a part of us! They're so cool…"
Huh, Villager never really thought of it that way. Could it be the same with him and his tools?
"Why can't you swoon over your own weapon?" Yang asked. "Aren't you happy with it?"
Villager nodded. He thought that Ruby's weapon was the coolest he had seen so far.
Ruby pulled her Scythe out. "Of course I'm happy with Crescent Rose."
Crescent Rose. That made it even cooler!
"I just really like seeing new ones." Ruby continued. "It's like meeting new people!...but better."
That is just...wow.
"Ruby, come on!" Yang said. "Why don't you try and go make new friends of your own?"
"Why would I need friends when I have you?" Ruby asked.
"Actually...I have friends of my own see you later bye!" Yang rambled before running off with a bunch of Random people, leaving Ruby and Villager spinning and dizzy.
Just when Villager regained his balance. Someone accidentally bumped into Ruby, making a bunch of briefcases and suitcases fly everywhere. Villager ducked before looking back at what happened.
"What are you doing?!" A new voice said. Villager looked to see a girl with white hair in a long ponytail, as well as a white outfit.
"Sorry!" Ruby said.
"Sorry? Do you have any idea what damage you could've caused?!" The girl scolded.
She needed to calm down. Villager was sure that Ruby didn't mean any harm.
Villager grab a piece of luggage and handed it to the girl, only for it to get pulled from his hands, making Villager jump. "Gimme that!" The girl said rudely, before turning back to Ruby. "This is dust! Mined and purified from the Schnee Quarry."
The what now?
"Uhh…" Ruby said, rubbing the back of her neck.
"What are you brain dead? Dust! Fire! Water! Lighting! ENERGY!" The girl continued. "Are you even listening to me? Is any of this sinking in? What do you have to say for yourself?"
Unbeknownst to her, some of the dust escaped the bottle she was holding and went to Ruby's nose. Villager ducked for cover as Ruby sneezed an explosion.
Oh boy, she's done it now.
"Unbelievable! This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about!" The girl said.
"I'm really really sorry!" Ruby apologized. Villager tried to calm them down.
"Ugh! You complete dolt!" The girl said.
Alright, that does it.
Villager took out his Vaulting pole and whacked the girl right on the head.
"OW! Who did that?" The girl said before taking notice of Villager. "What was that for?! I'm only putting her in place."
Villager only stepped in front of Ruby, defending her.
This girl just doesn't know when to quit.
"What are you even doing here anyway? Aren't you a little young to be attending Beacon? Especially you!" She said that last part pointing at Villager.
Oh come on, Villager wasn't THAT young.
"This isn't your ordinary combat school." The girl continued. "It's not just sparring and practice, you know. We're here to fight monsters, so watch where you're going!" She then turned to Villager. "And you! You better watch who you whack with that or I'll be seeing you in court!"
"Hey, we're sorry! Okay princess?" Ruby shot back, now standing in front of Villager.
"It's heiress actually." Another new voice said.
They all turned to see another girl. With long Black Hair, a black and white outfit, as well as a big black bow on her head. "Weiss Schnee, Heiress to the Schnee Dust Company. One of the largest producers of energy propellant in the world."
"Finally, some recognition!" The girl now named Weiss Schnee said.
"The same company infamous for it's controversial labor forces and questionable Business partners." The girl with the bow said.
"What-, how dare-, the nerve of-, UGH!" Weiss said before grabbing the bottle of dust from the black-haired girl's hands and storming off. Villager did a small Laughter Reaction.
"I promise I'll make this up to you!" Ruby called out to Weiss. She slumped to the floor.
Villager watched the girl with the bow walk away. But he also noticed that she was looking at him with a confused, yet curious look on her face. Villager shot back the same look. After another few seconds, the girl walked away.
"I guess I'm not the only one having a rough first day, huh?" Ruby said. Villager gave her a sympathetic smile and patted her leg softly. "Thanks."
"So what's-" Ruby said before noticing that the girl had already left. She sighed and fell on the floor. "Welcome to Beacon." She said sarcastically. Villager did a Sigh reaction.
Yet ANOTHER person appeared. This time, however the face was familiar. It was the Blonde Boy who threw up on the ship!
He held his hand out for Ruby to take. "Hey, you both okay?"
"Yeah." Ruby said as she took his hand. "Aren't you the guy who threw up on the ship?"
The three of them then decided to walk and talk. The Blonde boy and ruby were talking with one another. Villager was also involved in the conversation as well.
"Hey, all I'm saying is motion sickness is a much bigger problem than people let on." The boy said.
"Look I'm sorry. Vomit Boy was the first thing that came to mind." Ruby said.
"Oh yeah? Well what if I called you Crater Face?" The boy shot back.
"Hey, that explosion was an Accident!" Ruby said. Villager nodded agreeing with them.
"Um, is he your...little brother or something?" The boy asked, referring to Villager.
FOR THE LAST TIME, VILLAGER WAS NOT THAT YOUNG.
"Oh no, this is my friend Villager. He and I enrolled at the same time." Ruby said. Villager greeted the boy.
"Oh, cool." The Boy said. "Anyways, the name's Jaune Arc. Short, sweet, rolls of the tongue, ladies love it."
Do they?
"Do they?" Ruby asked while Villager did his Curiosity Reaction yet again.
"T-They will!" Jaune replied. "Well I hope they will. I mean, my mom always says that...nevermind."
Ruby and Villager giggled, before they moved on to a Different topic. "So...I got this thing." Ruby said as she pulled out Crescent Rose.
"Woah! Is that a scythe?!" Jaune exclaimed.
"It's also a customizable, high-impact sniper rifle." Ruby said.
"A what…?" Jaune asked.
Villager made a little gun gesture with his hands to help explain.
"Right, it's also a gun." Ruby said.
"Oh. That's Cool!" Jaune said.
Severe Understatement.
"So what do you got?" Ruby asked.
"Oh, I got this sword." Jaune said as he pulled out a simple sword.
...That's it? Just a simple sword? Oh well, Villager wasn't judging anyone.
"Oooh" Ruby said.
"Yeah, I got a shield too!" Jaune said as he pulled out a foldable shield.
"So what do they do?" Ruby asked as Villager poked the shield, making it fly out of Jaune's hand. He scrambled for it mid-air, but it still fell on the floor.
He picked it up and continued. "The shield gets smaller so when I get… tired of carrying it, I can just...put it away."
Huh, Simple yet safe. Nice!
"But wouldn't it still weigh the same?" Ruby asked.
"Y-Yeah it still does." Jaune said disappointed.
"Well, I'm kind of a dork when it comes to weapons. So, I guess I did go a little overboard designing it."
Hold up, she DESIGNED that thing?!
"Wait, you made that?" Jaune asked.
"Of course! All students at Signal forge their own weapons!" Ruby said. "Didn't you make yours?"
"It's a hand-me-down. My Great Great Grandfather used it to fight in the war." Jaune explained.
"Sounds more like a Family heirloom to me!" Ruby replied. "Well, I like it! Not many people have appreciation for the classics these days."
Villager nodded., agreeing.
"Yeah...the classics." Jaune said. "W-What about you Villager?"
N E T.
"Uh, that's a Net." Jaune said.
"You'd be surprised." Ruby said. "He took on Roman Torchwick with that Net, AND WON. Torchwick got away though. But still, he used things that aren't even weapons to fight! He's someone you definitely should not underestimate!"
"R-Really?!" Jaune exclaimed. "He's that strong?"
"That's not even the best part!" Ruby said. "I don't know how he does it, but he caught an explosion with his bare hands, put it in his pocket and threw it back later!"
Jaune was flabbergasted. "That's impossible! How can he do that?"
N E T.
"I guess you'll just have to wait for him to use it in battle." Ruby said. "So why'd you help out Me and Villager back in the courtyard?"
"Eh, why not?" Jaune replied. "My mom always says, strangers are just friends you haven't met yet."
"Huh." Ruby said. "Hey, where are we going?"
"I dunno, I was following you two." Jaune said.
N E T.
Ruby, Jaune and Villager arrived in the main entrance area. There was a bunch of people around them.
"Ruby! Over here! I saved you a spot!" Villager heard Yang's voice.
"Oh, I gotta go. I'll see you both after the ceremony!" Ruby said before taking off to be with her sister. Villager waved goodbye.
"Hey wait!" Jaune cried out. "Oh man, where am I supposed to find a nice quirky girl to talk to?"
Villager decided that he was gonna part ways with Ruby and Jaune and go off on his own for now. He'll probably meet up with them again at a later time.
Villager was deep in thought. He wondered what his time here was going to be like? All of these different people with cool semblances and weapons, not to mention the few new friends that he made already. His thoughts were interrupted when he heard someone clear their throat. He looked up on stage too see…
...he couldn't see anything due to his small size and the crowd of people. However, he could hear Ozpin's voice.
"I'll...keep this brief." Ozpin said. "You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you are finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you...and all I see is wasted energy, a need of purpose, correction."
Really? Villager thought that everyone he had seen so far was already good at fighting. Was he saying he could make everyone better?
"You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this School will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far." Ozpin continued. "It is up to you...to take the first step."
Another sentence of words that rung through Villager's head. He then heard Glynda's voice.
"You will gather in the Ballroom tonight." Glynda said. "Tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready, you are dismissed."
For some weird reason, Ozpin sounded off. Like he wasn't even there. Oh well, no time to worry about that now.
That night, Villager got dressed into a little Frog onesie that he had on him. He decided to use those as pajamas.
"It's like a Big slumber party!" Yang said.
"I don't think dad would approve of all the boys though." Ruby said.
"I know I do." Yang said looking at a few boys from across the room. "Hey Villager!"
Villager greeted back.
"Whatcha doin' sis?" Yang asked.
"A letter to the gang back at signal." Ruby replied. "I promise to tell them all about Beacon and how things are going."
"Aw, that's so cute!" Yang said before getting a pillow thrown at her face.
"Shut up!" Ruby said. "I didn't get to take my friends with me to school, it's weird not knowing anyone here."
Villager knew how she felt. It was weird not knowing anyone when he first got into smash, but he got used to it. Eventually, Isabelle joined in as well. Villager missed his Assistant.
"What about Villager?" Yang asked. "He's cool, right?"
"Yeah, I guess you're right about that." Ruby said while receiving another high-five from Villager.
"See? And what about Jaune? He's….nice." Yang said. "There you go! Plus 2 friends! That's a 100% increase!"
"I'm pretty sure Weiss counts as a negative friend, back to zero." Ruby said while rolling on her back.
"There's no such thing as negative friends!" Yang replied with Villager agreeing. "You just made one friend and one enemy!"
Villager did his Shocked Reaction before facepalming.
Ruby threw another pillow at Yang's face. "Look, it's only been one day. Trust me, you got friends all around you. You just haven't met them yet!" Yang said
Villager did his realization Reaction after hearing the same words that came out of Jaune come out of Yang.
Just then, a small light flickered on, the 3 of them turned to see the girl with the Black bow from earlier today reading a book.
"That girl…" Ruby said.
"You know her?" Yang asked.
"Not really." Ruby replied. "She saw what happened this morning and left before I could say anything."
"Welp, now's your chance!" Yang said as she got up and dragged Ruby over to the Girl.
"Hey, wait a minute!" Ruby said.
Villager sweatdropped as he followed them. He got in the conversation a few seconds later than Ruby and Yang.
Play Animal Crossing New Leaf OST 9 PM
"Aren't you that Girl who exploded?" The black-haired girl asked.
"Uh, yeah!" Ruby answered. "My name's Ruby!" She said while reaching her hand for a handshake, but got none. "But you can just call me crater...Actually you can just call me Ruby."
"Okay…" The girl said.
"What are you doing?!" Yang whispered.
"I don't know, help me!" Ruby whispered back before turning back to the Girl.
"So, what's your name?" Yang asked.
"...Blake." She answered.
"Well Blake, I'm Yang, Ruby's older sister!" Yang introduced herself.
"...is he with you guys?" Blake asked, pointing at Villager.
"He's...an acquaintance of ours." Yang said. "His name's Villager."
"...Villager…" Villager heard Blake whisper to herself.
"I like your bow! Nice night don't you think?" Yang asked.
"Yes, it's lovely." Blake said. "Almost as lovely as this book...that I will continue to read...as soon as you leave."
Ooookay, this girl obviously just wants her alone time.
"Yeah, this girl is a lost cause." Yang said to her sister.
"What's it about?" Ruby asked.
"Huh?"
"Your book, does it have a name?"
"Well, it's about a man with two souls," Blake said. "Each fighting for control over its Body."
Ooo. Interesting.
"Oh yeah, that's...real lovely." Yang said sheepishly.
"I love books." Ruby said. "Yang used to read to me every night before bed. Stories of heroes and monsters. They're one of the reasons I want to be a huntress."
"Why is that?" Blake asked. "Hoping you'll live happily ever after?"
"I'm hoping we all will." Ruby replied. "As a girl, I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books. Someone who fought for what was right and who protected people who couldn't protect themselves."
Villager knew a few of those kinds of people.
"That's...very ambitious for a child." Blake said. "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a Fairy Tale.
Villager looked down. He never really knew what that was like. Other than the battle against Galeem and Dharkon, he pretty much had a normal and peaceful life on his island. It made him feel kinda bad.
"Well, that's why we're here." Ruby said. "To make it better."
Villager looked at Ruby before smiling.
"Oh, I'm so proud of my Baby sister!" Yang exclaimed as she squeezed Ruby in a hug.
"Cut it out!" Ruby yelled as she and Yang got into a dust Cloud fight. This unfortunately, attracted some attention.
Some UNWANTED Attention.
"What in the world is going on over here?!" Weiss exclaimed. "Don't you realize some of us are trying to sleep?"
"OH NO NOT YOU AGAIN!" Weiss and Yang exclaimed.
Villager and Ruby tried to calm them down. "Guys, she's right people are trying to sleep!" Villager made a quiet gesture with his hands.
They unfortunately kept going. Villager decided to let them do their thing and walked over to his sleeping bag. Blake blew out the candle, making everyone quiet.
Tomorrow ought to be good.
