SIX
{ UNKNOWN POV}
The cloaked male gazed up at the modest two story home and smirked to himself. Laurent had given excellent directions. He could already smell the blood of the two sisters. His mouth was literally watering at the prospect. His mind was racing. The youngest of the two, when he'd encountered her unbeknownst to her, her blood sang. It literally cried out for him. She was ripe for the picking and begging to be taken. Paid proper attention to. She deserved better than the mediocre destiny of living a mortal life.
And he longed to take her, make her his own.
He focused hard. Shifting himself into the image she'd view as most desirable. Grumbling in annoyance when he gazed into a puddle at what he'd transformed into and saw the reflection of a local teenage boy gazing back.
One of the dogs from the reservation, hm?
After tonight, when he lured her out to him and claimed her, she wouldn't even remember this dog she apparently craved so deep within.
{BELLA;EDEN/PAUL}
"Fuck. Bella, why does it have to be the one guy who can do the most damage with you, hm?" Eden paced her sister's bedroom, dragging sleeve covered fingers through long dark waves. Trying to wrap her head around what her sister Bella was trying to tell her.
"I'm sitting right here." Edward spoke up quietly, gazing at his soon to be sister in law. Truth be told, he didn't blame her. And the love she had for her sister was something he hadn't witnessed often in his long lifespan. Her love for her sister was the one huge reason Edward secretly hoped against hopes that Bella would back out. Let go and agree to go their separate ways. But he knew Bella too well. She got her mind on something, she wasn't changing it. And he knew her well enough to know that Bella cared enough about her family to somehow find a balance between her family with him and her family.
"That's the whole fucking problem, isn't it?" Eden burst out, going quiet. Sighing and muttering an apology. Bella and Edward had sat her down, told her their entire story from beginning to what the future held. Including exactly why Bella left with him the year before and returned home with a broken leg and why the Cullens and Edward left and why Edward had went to Volterra.
"I understand. You're concerned. The bond you have with your sister is the precise reason I've pleaded with your sister to reconsider on more than one occasion."
Eden's eyes settled on Bella and she swallowed hard. Nodding in Edward's direction. "Is he telling the truth? Did you know all this time and just not care what might have happened to me? To our father? Christ, Bells.. And now you're going to marry him and you're planning to become one of them. Fucking hell, why? Where did our parents go wrong, hm? Because they've done nothing but love you. Fuck, sometimes it feels like I'm the after-thought."
"That's not true and you know it!" Bella shot up out of her chair, going to her sister's side. Slipping an arm around her as Eden leaned her head against her sister's shoulder. Wiping at her eyes but keeping her face hidden from view because she wasn't letting Cullen have the satisfaction of seeing her cry.
"Not even two nights ago one of them tried to kill you in the woods, Bella. What else is it gonna take to make you see that nothing good will come out of all this? Because it can't end well. There's no logical way."
"What's happening now was going to happen one way or another. We were hoping that we'd be gone, that Victoria wouldn't do something like this until we were gone and Bella not being here would lure the army away from here. Victoria has to have her revenge. I killed her mate." Edward explained quietly.
"So now, just because you pissed off the vampire mafia, my sister is at risk?" Eden gazed back and forth between the two. Edward and Bella shared a look and Bella tensed. "Not just me. Laurent's friend, he ah… He scented you. He's planning to take you when the newborn army arrives."
"Fuck no! I'll fucking die first." Eden shivered. Grimacing. "Okay, how much worse does this get, hm? I mean you're marrying him, you're going to let him turn you. Don't say you haven't thought about it, okay? I know you too well… You have a woman who's after you because he killed her boyfriend last year. How much more shit are you in, hm? Let's just get it all out now, lay all our cards on the table."
"That's it." Bella sighed, leaning back against Edward. Squeezing her eyes shut because she felt drained, scared and heart-broken all at once. And so very worried.
"And what does any of this have to do with me, sneaking up to the mountaintop with all of you tonight and spending the weekend while Charlie's away? Why do I have to be there? Why can't I just buy a ton of garlic, wear silver jewelry and keep a high powered flashlight on my person? Or stakes. Yeah. Stakes worked wonders in Buffy."
"That is the Hollywood version of what we are, Eden. It's not real." Edward pointed out gently.
"And what? The pack is just supposed to swoop in and save us all from an entire damn army of those things? There are four people in that pack. Count 'em, Bells. FOUR. What good will four werewolves.." Eden trailed off, shaking her head. "Paul."
Bella bit her lip and eyed her sister. "What about him?"
"No fuckin wonder the guy's annoyed by me, I'm connected to you. And thanks to that one," - she paused to nod her head at Edward and took a deep breath going on to point out, "he has to endure this shit. And now your bullshit is fucking with.. Things. Forget it, even if it weren't that, the guy would get to know me and he'd be irritated or annoyed by me anyway. I'm just that kind of girl."
Bella slipped an arm around her younger sister and pulled her against her side. "Hey, no. Why the hell would you even say that, huh?"
Eden shrugged.
Jacob peered into Bella's bedroom. "Are you guys coming? We have to get you and Eden up there and settled in to camp."
Eden shrugged, standing. Drained. Resigning herself to the fact that she was about to have a very long and awkward weekend, between the guy who got annoyed if she simply breathed around him being underfoot 24/7 and the whole love triangle from hell that her sister Bella had going on with Jacob and Edward. A triangle that Edward seemed to encourage.
"Fine. I'm going to get my stuff." Eden wandered through the bathroom and into her own bedroom. Tossing clothes into a bag. Tossing her journal, a book or two and at the last second, she wandered over to her dresser drawer and dug around, pulling out one of the pocketknives she kept stashed away and tossing it into her bag too.
A throat cleared from the doorway of her bedroom and she wiped at her eyes before bothering to look up. Tensing just a little when she did look up and she managed to lock eyes with Paul Lahote.
She raised a hand, dragging it through thick dark brown waves. Shuffling her feet as she fought to tear her eyes out of the depths of his. Turning away at last to grab her yellow backpack, slinging it over her shoulder.
Paul cleared his throat, nodding to the crossbow on the wall. "Archery, huh?"
"It's a hobby. I've got a pretty damn good aim." Eden answered quietly.
Her eyes darting away from his as quickly as possible. She didn't want to start off annoying him with her presence right out of the gate.
"They saddled you with me, hm?" Eden asked, only half joking. She couldn't shake the heavy tension between them and it bothered her.
Paul's lack of an answer pretty well confirmed it in her mind. The fact that he seemed to fold into himself due to the tension wracking his muscular frame did nothing to help dissuade it.
She pushed past him, preparing to step out into the hallway. He took a deep breath. In and out. Trying to remember what was at stake here. Trying to remind himself that he needed to know she was safe. That just because he couldn't allow himself to embrace the bond, it didn't make her any less important. It just meant that he couldn't have her. But god, he thought to himself, I'm really starting to want her. Just know she's not gonna want me too. That if the imprintee gets the ultimate say-so, she's going to reject the whole thing and walk away. I'm better off fighting this shit. I didn't fucking want it to happen to begin with.
Her pack was half open and the light overhead caught on something silver. Paul reached out, plucking the pocketknife out. Holding it up. Gazing at her with a raised brow.
Eden jumped up a little, trying to snatch it back. Ultimately giving up when she realized Paul had a good two feet on her height-wise and he wasn't going to just hand it back.
"Fine, whatever. I've got my other knife in my boot anyway so it's not like that one's gonna be missed. Let's just get this over with." Eden grumbled quietly.
"Other knife? You have more than one?"
" I collect knives? I use 'em for fishing, mostly. And the knife game."
"The knife game? Nevermind. Not even going to ask.."
"Yeah, you know the song. My hand, it has five fingers, the knife goes chop, chop chop.. Forget it, man. It was a joke, okay? If you're so worried about it, I use the other knife to whittle." Eden shrugged. Kicking herself for thinking he'd see the humor. Kicking herself for having these super high defenses most of the time.
"You're really not scared of a whole lot, are you?" Paul asked quietly. Trying to process the overload of new information about his imprint. Mentally kicking himself because the more he learned, the harder it was going to be to keep fighting all this off. The more it would hurt when she did what she'd probably wind up doing when he pushed too hard or came on too strong and walked the fuck away.
Eden stopped to glance back at him. Sighing and shrugging. "More than you know, man. More than you know."
"C'mon. I'm taking Bella now." Jacob called up the stairs.
Paul stopped on the stairs, looking back at Eden. "Get on."
"Come again?"
"My back. Get on it."
"Yeah, no. I've got the feet God gave me. I'll walk. I'd rather not be dropped. I'm not entirely sure you wouldn't just get irritated at me and drop me or something. It's a risk I'm not willing to take."
"I wouldn't drop you. Just fucking get on." Paul took a firm and commanding tone. Gazing down at her in warning.
"I'm walking, thanks."
Paul shrugged and walked up to the stair that Eden stood on, grabbing hold of her like she weighed nothing. Hefting her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, making her swear and wiggle until he locked a massive arm around her upper thigh and just below her ass. He chuckled quietly and started to walk down the stairs again.
"This weekend is gonna go fucking stellar. I can feel it in my bones." Eden grumbled from over the shoulder of Paul Lahote as he marched right past Jacob, who was already in wolf form, carrying Bella on his back.
"Remind me to ask him how he got her to cave and come along in less than an hour, because Edward and I have only been trying to drive home just how much danger she's facing if she stays behind all damn afternoon." Bella grumbled to herself prompting Eden to raise her middle finger at her sister.
"Okay, you lug. My blood is running to my head here. I'll take that ride now." Eden muttered a minute or two into the trek to the top of the mountain.
"But I might drop you." Paul stopped mid-walk to put her on her own feet. Gazing down at her.
"And if you do, I'll kick you in the balls." Eden grumbled, gazing up at Paul calmly. Blowing at shaggy bangs as they fell into her eyes.
Eden turned away, covering her eyes. Paul phased into his wolf form and nuzzled against the back of her bare leg to get her attention once he had. Eden eyed him and took a deep breath, climbing onto his back. Letting her arms circle his neck and letting her face rest against the back of his head.
"Oh no. This isn't awkward, not at all." she mused. "Kinda feel bad for you, buddy. They saddled you with the task of transporting me." the words came in a quiet sigh as she shivered in the breeze.
They emerged from the bushes on the mountaintop and Eden climbed off of Paul, wandering over to warm herself by the fire. Sinking down to sit on a rock. Gazing up at the moon.
A few seconds later, Paul wandered over, sitting down beside her.
She tried to keep her eyes to herself. To make her body as small as possible so she didn't disturb his personal space. When he draped a plaid shirt around her that smelled just like him, she glanced over at him, a brow raised. Only to find him talking to one of the guys in his pack.
She reached down to the yellow bookbag and dug around, pulling out a worn deck of playing cards.
Shuffling them and only half listening as everyone around her talked back and forth. Discussing what was going to happen. Tensing when the subject of a potential altercation arose.
The tension that took over her body didn't go unnoticed by Paul. He gazed at her, so much that on more than one occasion, Jared nudged him. Nodding to her.
"You've gotta realize you can't fight forever by now." Jared muttered.
"Yes I can." Paul insisted.
"Anyone wanna play a round of poker? No? Sweet." Eden spoke up, going quiet again. Going back to shuffling the worn deck of cards in her hand. Jared grumbled and shook his head at Paul before wandering over. Flopping down next to Eden on one side as he nodded to the cards.
"Deal me in."
Embry glanced at Paul and smirking, shrugged as he wandered over, sinking down to sit by Jared to the left. "Yeah, I'll play. Beats standing around."
When Sam cleared his throat and nodded in the direction of the beginning card game, Paul shook his head. "You're the one who keeps telling me it's not safe to be around her."
"Prove me wrong." Sam challenged.
"I told you, I'm fightin this." Paul shook his head no, smirking. "You're not gonna magically change my mind on this, Uley."
"And I told you, weeks ago, the bond's won." Sam smirked right back.
Sam wandered off, leaving Paul to stew in the truth of Sam's words. Grumbling to himself. Clench his fists tight as he glanced over to the card game and quickly made himself look away. He pulled himself up from where he sat and wandered towards the forest, disappearing into the trees.
Maybe it was just better that he patrolled for a while. Stayed away from her as much as possible.
It had to be better, right?
{UNKNOWN POV/EDEN/PAUL}
Hissing from the opening in the tent woke Eden up and Eden sat up, groggy. Paul stood there, rubbing his chin in thought. Then he motioned her to follow him.
"Are you freaking crazy? It's a frozen wasteland out there."
Maybe if Eden knew Paul Lahote a little better, she'd have realized real quick that the fact that he didn't answer in any form was a huge red flag.
He filled the tent opening and he was letting all the cold air in, so Eden pulled herself out from beneath her own sleeping bag and the heavy blanket that someone must've come in to cover her with, a blanket that smelled suspiciously like Paul's cologne had that day on First Beach… Tossing both blankets aside, she stood up and wandered over. Snatching the tent flaps out of his hands to shut them herself.
"I'm not any happier about this than you but what you're not gonna do, Paul, is attempt to give me hypothermia." she gazed up at the silent teen male,a brow raised.
It hit her then. He wasn't putting off enough body heat to suffocate her. Paul was always hot like a sauna. And he hadn't opened his mouth a single time and usually, arguing was as natural as breathing to the guy.
Half asleep, Eden put it off to being a weird dream. But rubbing her eyes did nothing. Paul still stood there, smirking and silent. This eerie feeling took over and settled in the pit of her gut and right as she opened her mouth to scream, two things happened.
Paul yelled her name loudly from the treeline while growling and lunging in preparation to shift to his wolf form. Secondly,it felt as if her throat was being crushed like an aluminum can.
Eden threw herself all the way to the left of the four person tent she'd been attempting to sleep in and Paul's attack on 'other-paul' brought the tent down on top of them all. It was too much to even begin to process, but not too much that Eden didn't get this strong rush of fear. The strong urge to do something and do it fast.
The knife in her pack gleamed in the moonlight that shined through ripped nylon on the side of their tent. Eden flicked it out and as soon as the 'imitation-paul' seemed to be getting the upper hand, Eden pressed a sharp blade against it's neck. "Let him go. I'm not my sister, I won't fuckin hesitate." she muttered as she pressed the blade just a little harder.
"Eden, stay the fuck out of this." Paul managed to growl out the words. Eden didn't even seem to pay any particular attention to him. And he grumbled when the knife pressing into the leeches neck dropped to the top of heavy sleeping bags with a soft rustle of fabric when the knife settled against.
The leech was gone. A quiet and taunting laugh hanging heavy on the cold night air. "Tomorrow, perhaps?"
For at least two minutes, neither of them said anything to the other. Paul sank down onto the pile of sleeping bags, gazing intently at the bold red and black plaid fabric.
Eden stared at her hands as she tried to process what had just happened.
"How…" she muttered quietly. Then she remembered, the leech had been using a glamour in attempt to lure her. Just like the other time it had tried, when she was out in the woods with her friends.
Paul gazed over at her, still trying to process the fact that the glamour the leech chose to attempt luring Eden out wasn't one of the Cullens. It wasn't one of the other guys in his own pack. It wasn't even her father or her sister, which to him, would've been the most logical first choices… It was him.
"Carlisle said something about their kind being able to disguise themselves." Paul mused quietly. Gazing at his hands as he tried to wrap his head around everything. And tried to fight the rage that had him wanting to take to the forest, find the leech and tear it limb from limb.
Eden sighed, nodding. Rubbing at her throat because it was scratchy. "I know that. It's tried once already… The first time, it came to me as my dad and if Bella hadn't seen…" Eden's words trailed away and she muttered softer, "Awkward."
In the faint light of the high powered flashlight, Paul caught sight of her throat and tensed all over, growling to himself.
Sam and the others specifically told him to stay close to her tonight in light of what Bella claimed that Alice had seen in an earlier vision… But he'd been so fucking caught up in fighting the bond and trying to save her from him that he'd ignored the warnings.
If he'd been here, the leech never would've been bold enough to try.
Before he could stop himself, he was moving closer. Reaching out a hand to lower her own from her throat so he could get a better look and see the damage caused.
Remember it for the next day when he finally got his damned hands on the grimy bastard who'd been responsible.
"Paul, you've got a busted nose and upper lip and the weird staring thing is kind of freaking me out. It's too early for this shit." Eden muttered quietly, her voice hoarse.
"Yeah, I'm gonna get joy out of ripping that one apart tomorrow." Paul muttered, mostly to himself.
Sam was right, just this once. He should've done as instructed, stuck as close as possible to her. The fact that the leech had almost gotten her and had definitely hurt her was not sitting well with the hot-headed shifter at all.
" Personally, I feel like we should just grab a gas can and go down, set the entire lot of them on fire. But apparently when I say that, it's not a 'peaceful' solution.. And yet, a pointless rumble in a meadow.. That's going to put all of your pack at risk.. Somehow, that is." Eden mused, locking eyes with Paul. Tilting his chin to make him look at her as she nodded to the discarded yellow backpack she'd brought up. "Get me the first aid kit."
"I'm fine."
"Give me the fucking pack. Now. This isn't a discussion or a debate, Lahote. If it wasn't for me being underfoot, that would've never happened. I told my sister I was better off at Dad's. With a hunting rifle, my crossbow and home-field advantage. As per usual, she decides I'm not a big enough girl to decide things on my own. Now, thanks to the bullshit, you've got yourself a busted nose and lip."
Paul's brow quirked. "She wasn't wrong. Makin you come up here? She wasn't wrong about it."
Eden grumbled to herself and rose up, grabbing a blue first - aid kit from the bottom of her bookbag. Crawling back over to stop in front of him. Close but not too close. "Let's agree to disagree." she muttered as she pulled open the plastic box, sending a spray of bandages out onto the bag and all around them. She grabbed a packet that contained alcohol pads and she tore the corner with her teeth, gingerly reaching out to dab the alcohol pad to the area above his lip that was split open. She nodded to a water bottle and muttered quietly, "When I'm done getting leech ick out of that part, hold the bottle against your lips." before backing away from him just a little.
"This wasn't your fault. You know that, right?" Paul spoke up quietly.
"Oh, trust me. I'm well aware that over ninety five percent of this shit storm isn't my fault. But the five percent that I can solely take the blame for, yeah. What just happened only happened because of it. That fucking mosquito has this bizarre fixation on me and if I hadn't been here, this wouldn't have happened."
"Do you always blame yourself for shit out of your control?" Paul questioned, quick to add, "If you hadn't been here, Eden, you'd have been by yourself. Still in danger, though." tension filling his frame as he actually stopped to think just how much worse the whole incident could have been if she hadn't listened to Bella and come along.
Eden shrugged. "Not usually, but the fact remains. One of those leeches has apparently been stalking me for a while now, at least, if I choose to take what my sister says with a grain of salt and treat it as possibly true. It showed up here tonight. You were the one stuck guarding me or whatever. If I hadn't been here, you wouldn't have had to do that." Eden pointed out, grumbling to herself and shuffling her feet against the grass.
"I should've been doing that." Paul pointed out.
"Dude, I get it. You're annoyed by the whole thing. I don't blame you for wanting no part in this aside from getting the sheer joy of seeing some of those bastards getting ripped to shreds. You didn't ask to be saddled with this. Any of it. I didn't ask for it either. We're just stuck in it."
Bella cleared her throat from nearby and the argument between Paul and Bella flared up almost instantaneously. Or it was about until Eden cleared her throat. "That asshole. The one who tried to make me think he was dad.. That was the one who did this. None of this shit is his fault. It's actually kind of our fault, Bells."
"It's not your fault, Eden."
"Yes. It is and it is because I told you repeatedly I'd be fine. Nooo. I had to cave in just to get you off my ass and now look what's happened.. Do you see now why involvement of any kind with those blood sucking assholes is a bad idea? No, probably not. You haven't yet and you nearly died last year because of similar crap..." Eden ranted while she finished doctoring the 'wound' Paul had managed to get himself and she stood, shoving her way out of the crumbled tent.
"Where the hell are you going?" Bella called out. "Get back here! Now! It's not safe to wander off on your own!"
"What the fuck.. Is she seriously just going to walk off on her own?" Paul grumbled, springing up from where he sat, taking off after her.
Eden swore to herself as she wandered just a short distance away from the comforting glow of the campfire and the tents assembled close to it. She leaned against the tree and gazed up at a waxy colored moon. Kicking the toe of her boot against the grass as she ranted and raved up a storm.
"Naturally, your sister has to meet the one single-most toxic guy for her and lose her entire mind. Then you actually meet a guy who finally makes you feel.. I dunno, anything beyond annoyance.. And naturally, because your sister has a freakin death wish, that's all blown to hell from the word go. All I fucking want is normal." Eden swung lazily at the tree she stood facing, grimacing and pulling her fist back to hold close to herself. Laughing quietly, as she muttered the observation, "But if normal was a thing, I know it myself.. Guy wouldn't even give me a second look. He'd probably be gaga over big sister just like all the rest. Hell, with their arguing constantly, that might still be true." Eden stopped ranting and froze in place when she heard the silent pop of a twig.
"I-I'll stab." quickly followed by a grumbled, "Why fuck no I won't because I got so pissed that I didn't grab my knife before wandering away from all of that." as Eden took a few deep breaths and closed her eyes. Preparing herself for whatever happened to be standing in the bushes.
Paul stepped out, turning on her father's high powered flashlight and causing her to flip him off while shielding her eyes with her hands. "I just needed to get angry, okay? I don't wanna make Bella feel any worse about all of this than she already does. I.. I can't take another apology right now." Eden mumbled after a second or two of him just standing there, looking at her. That intense look in his eyes, the one that made her feel like she couldn't breathe.
"Then get angry at the campsite. With people around." Paul muttered quietly. Still trying to process the entirety of her little rant seconds before. "Or at least have the common sense to grab this before you go wandering off." Paul raised her pocket knife and smirked.
"Hafuckingha. Glad this all amuses you." Eden grumbled quietly. Folding her arms over her chest. Keeping a distance because she didn't want to annoy the guy any worse than everything that just happened had already annoyed him.
"It doesn't, actually." Paul muttered, going quiet. Now he was beyond torn between fighting the bond and just giving in, letting it win. Before he could stop himself, he was stepping a little closer. Closing the distance between them. Putting Eden between the trunk of a tall tree and his own body as he gazed down at her and chuckled quietly while shaking his head about everything that had happened so far.
"None of this is funny." Eden pouted a little.
"Do you always wander off and attempt to punch things when you're pissed?" Paul muttered as he lowered a hand, raising her hand up to look at it better. Snickering at the fact that she'd evidently put effort into punching the tree because her knuckles were a little swollen on the hand she'd done it with.
"Not all the time. I mean.. It's better than just losing my shit. Easier." Eden made a half-hearted attempt to look down but she couldn't make it past Paul's dark and deep eyes. He chuckled again quietly, "And the guys tell me I have an anger problem."
"Yeah. I've heard that a time or two myself." Eden shrugged a little. Raising a hand to wipe at her eyes because she'd been so frustrated that she'd actually started to tear up just a little.
"You okay?" Paul asked, a brow raised in concern as he stepped even closer to her.
"I'm totally freaking stellar, Paul." Eden muttered quietly, trying to hide a sniffle or two. "I'm not terrified right now, not even a little." her words came out shaky, though. A serious indicator that she was lying and she wasn't doing well at hiding it at all.
"I was totally against Bella throwing her life away like she plans. After all this I…" Eden trailed off. Jamming the heels of her hand into her eyes to keep the tears from falling. Paul completely closed the distance between them and reached down, making her look up and meet his gaze. Eyeing her in concern and nodding quietly. Eden sighed and her shoulders slumped a little as she added in an even quieter whisper, "I'm gonna hate myself for what I'm about to say but I'm kind of looking forward to the fact that once they're married, they plan to move elsewhere. I don't want to feel that way, I… She's my sister."
Awkwardly, Paul slipped his arms around her. Letting her lean against him. Eden leaned against Paul awkwardly at first, eventually just melting into him because she was just drained. Tired.
" Yeah. I think I get it." Paul muttered quietly.
And his own internal struggle, to accept or continue to fight the bond between them, that came to a grinding and silent halt for the moment.
,, she needs you, man. At least right now." the thought came, prompting him to mutter quietly, "Think you're good to go back over where the rest of us are now?"
"Kind of don't have many other options, do I?"
"We could move our tent out further… If you wanted to."
Eden shook her head and muttered quietly, "It's bad enough you're stuck doing this all weekend. I'm not going to make you pack up our shit and move our tent. If it's even still fit to use."
"If it's not, I think Jared brought an extra one. But I don't mind. I mean, I don't mind that much." Paul shrugged as he said it, being as casual about it as he could. Eden studied him for a minute or two as if she were seriously considering it, but she shook her head. "Like I said. It's bad enough you guys got dragged into all this bullshit."
"C'mon. We're gonna go and move the tent."
Eden eyed the hand he held out to her warily. Biting her lip. Knowing it was better to argue against doing what he suggested but being entirely too tired to do it. She nodded. "Okay, fine. I'm too freaking tired to argue with you, an actual brick wall."
[ post script ] Oh my goodness, I'm so so happy you enjoyed the last part I posted. This truly means the world to me. I meant to post this super long first part of the whole battle against the newborn army yesterday, but I had to go out and do IRL shit, urgh. Idk how many parts I'll be splitting this chapter into, but yeah.
I hope you guys enjoy this!
