Brighter
Tony was waiting for him when he stepped off the plane, and T'Challa smiled widely at him. He looked handsome, his hair a perfectly styled mess, his suit creased in all the right places and beautifully fitted.
But it was the happy look on his face that brought the smile to T'Challa's, because Tony had spent so much time unhappy that to see him so excited now was a wonderful thing.
"Hi," Tony said, bouncing on his feet when T'Challa approached him.
"Hi," T'Challa replied, bending down slightly to press a soft kiss to Tony's lips. "I missed you."
"I missed you too," Tony admitted, a light flush colouring his cheeks. He looked to the side of T'Challa and grinned. "But not as much as I missed Okoye."
Even the professional, Okoye said nothing, but T'Challa caught the twitch of her lips, and given the utter delight on his face, so did Tony.
"No Shuri this time?" Tony asked, slipping his hand into T'Challa's as they walked towards the waiting car. "Peter is going to be devastated."
T'Challa snorted. "I thought it best to leave her at home. Allowing the two of them loose in New York sounds like a terrible idea to me. Better to only allow them together in Wakanda, where I am King and can soothe the frazzled nerves of whomever they upset."
Laughing, Tony slid into the backseat of the car, tugging T'Challa in after him. Behind him, Okoye took a deep breath.
"I'll be fine," he said, looking back at her as he put his seatbelt on. "Happy is a fine driver, and you'll be in the car right behind us."
She glared at him, but eventually nodded, closing the door for him.
T'Challa wasn't at all surprised when a few seconds later, she slid into the front passenger seat.
Tony snorted and grinned at her through the mirror, and then turned his attention back to T'Challa. "So, how long do I have you for this time, Your Royal Kittiness?"
"Probably a week, barring any incidents," he replied, lifting his arm for Tony to slide under, and then hugged him to his side. "I trust you've cleared your schedule for me?"
"For the most part," Tony agreed. "I have a meeting I can't get out of on Thursday unless I want Pepper to kill me with her shoe."
T'Challa shuddered theatrically. "We cannot anger Pepper. That woman is more terrifying than my Dora Milaje."
Tony nodded. "Yes she is. We're also not allowed to let Pepper and Okoye conspire against us. They could take over the world if they were so inclined. It would be a disaster for us."
Laughing now, T'Challa pressed a kiss to Tony's head. "I am glad I am here. You make my life brighter. I've truly missed you these last weeks."
Tony snuggled closer. "I'm glad you're here too."
