The next few days were, well Rose didn't really know what to call it. She couldn't call it uneventful because she was learning magic. She had met Hermonie Granger a few days ago and one of the first things she had said to Rose was "how exciting it was to be given special permission to use magic in the school holidays." It turned out that there was a lot of new rules Rose was going to have to learn when it came to magic.
Rose was sat upstairs in Ginny's room, all three of the girls were sharing the room. It was quite tight but Rose didn't mind, mainly because she enjoyed their company. Percy was in his room and he had told Rose he had important Prefect business to attend to, Fred, George and Ron were outside playing Muggle Quidditch as they called it as they couldn't really play with the real balls. Rose just grinned at them when they had told her because in all honesty she didn't really care for sports.
"So I need to know," Rose said suddenly looking very serious at the girls, "what cute boys are there at Hogwarts?" This comment made Hermonie roll her eyes but join in with Ginny laughing. It was only last night Rose and Hermonie were talking Ginny through some very gorgeous muggle celebrities.
"Well the captain of Gryffindor's Quidditch team - Oliver Wood is quite nice on the eyes." Ginny said, her face turning red.
"But he does spend most of his day obsessing over Quidditch," Hermonie added. "But Cedric Diggory is quite nice on the eyes." Hermonie let out a slight smile.
"I heard he was talking about trying out for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team this year at school" Ginny added.
"So basically you're telling me that all the hot guys play in the Quidditch teams?" Rose asked laughing.
"Well obviously," Rose heard Fred saying as him, George and Ron walked into Ginny's room.
"We're the best looking ones in the team." George said, the twins sitting either side of Rose.
"Apart from I'm the better looking twin." Fred said.
Rose laughed, "so then - better looking twin Fred," she turns to face Fred, "what position are you on the team?"
"We're beaters," Fred said, looking happy and shocked all in one.
"Bloody hell," Ron said, "how are you able to tell them apart? Even mum struggles."
"You mean Gred and Forge?" Rose nudged into George, "what can I say? They are inspiring me to cause mischief and chaos so I can't give away all my secrets."
Later on that evening Fred and George were outside, "so Freddie," George looked at his twin, "that was weird earlier with Rose right?"
"You mean the fact our own mother can't tell us apart and after a few days she knows which one is which? It must have been a weird coincidence."
"I don't know George," Fred sighed, "have you seen the way she looks at me. Clearly she's got a thing for the better looking twin."
George went to say a comeback at Fred when he was interrupted by Rose jumping in between the two of them and sitting in between them. "Are you guys excited about Egypt yet?" Rose watched as the twins smiled.
"Dad hasn't stopped going on about it for weeks!" Fred told Rose, "he's weirdly obsessed with muggles."
"Well I have a gift for you guys," Rose said getting out her Polaroid camera. "I've had it for years and it's my favourite possession. Make sure you guys get a decent photo for me!" She passed the camera to George. The twins looked at her and the camera like they had grown some weird third head. "It's a camera…" she said slowly.
"That is not a camera." Fred laughed. Rose sighed and took the camera out of George's hands.
"Look, all you have to do is press this button." She pointed to it, "come on, look happy and say cheese." Rose pointed the camera towards them all, "1, 2, 3…" she clicked the camera and she felt the twins either side of her move so that they were both kissing her cheeks either side. Rose could feel the warmth of her cheeks flushing and felt a slight spark on her skin where she had felt the twins lips.
Rose took the photo from the camera and gave it to Fred and the camera back to George. "You guys can return it to me at Hogwarts." She told them, getting up and leaving them as she went back inside.
Fred and George watched the photo slowly start to appear. They smiled at they could see Rose become clearer and clearer. Fred was wondering if Rose had felt the spark he had when he had kissed her cheek and george was thinking the absolute same thing as his twin.
Nothing out of the ordinary had really happened before the Weasleys were going to Egypt. Rose found herself growing closer and closer to Fred and George, and if they were going to be in the same year it would be great for her to see a friendly face. They all had spoken about the different houses in Hogwarts, everyone was from Gyffindor and Percy had bragged to Rose that they were all very friendly with the famous Harry Potter.
"Dreadful with what happened with his sister," Mrs Weasley said pouring herself more tea. Rose could feel a knot in her stomach and a wave of guilt flush through her.
Hermonie quickly looked at Rose, "I'm assuming from a muggle background you might not be familiar with Harry Potter and his sister. He was the boy who lived, and his sister - well she just vanished. No one knows if she died or what that night."
Rose wanted to say something, in fact she was gearing up to. That was until someone had suddenly appeared at the fireplace with a burst of flames.
"Ah Kingsley!" Mr Weasley greeted his colleague and friend.
Kingsley greeted Mr. Weasley warmly, "I've come to take Rosalie to the Leaky Cauldron for the rest of her summer."
Rose could feel the sad twang in her chest, she really didn't want to leave. Before she got up from the table, she slipped her hands in the twins and gave them a nice big squeeze. She said her goodbyes to the family and went with Kingsley.
Kingsley escorted Rose into the leaky cauldron. He assisted with getting her to her room and told her that Harry Potter was in the room opposite her. Once Rose was all settled and sorted, Kingsley checked that she had everything and left.
Rose shuffled around her room nervously trying to find the courage to leave her room and knock on Harry's door. She sighed and told herself to snap out of it, she went to the door and opened it and as she opened the door - she saw a guy stood outside her door with his hand up getting ready to knock. He dark black messy hair, a scar on his forehead shaped like a lightning bolt. This must be Harry Rose thought to herself, this is how Percy and Ron had described him.
"Harry…" "Rose" they said after one another, not knowing how to deal with this awkward situation.
AN: Curious to know what people think about the house Rose should be sorted into? Let me know if you guys have a preference - i have a few ideas :)
