"Ah, I hope this sushi smell doesn't stay on me." Ren told himself. After spending nearly a year if people comment on him smelling like coffee beans, sushi seems like a major downgrade from that. Morgana however was sleeping peacefully right now. The duo right now was sleeping on a futon that Hanzō brought in.
"Morning." Ren told Hanzō after getting up. Ren saw that he's currently making futomaki rolls. But Ren also noticed that they were pretty thick. Thicker than they needed to be.
"So, what's on the plans for today?" Ren asked him. He doubted that the Gessen girls would do nothing today.
"Simple. Hebijo Hebijo Academy is their next target." Hanzō told him.
"The school that Murasaki was from?" Ren asked him.
"Yes." Hanzō told him while nodding. "They managed to get away, so they decided to turn their targets to Hebijo."
"When are they leaving?" Ren asked him.
"A few days from now." Hanzō told him, before picking up his newspaper.
"Thought they'd be leaving sooner." Ren admitted to him. They looked and sounded like the type to immediately move on to the next thing once a task was completed.
"They still need to rest up and heal." Hanzō told Ren while flipping the paper. "After all, they were involved in some pretty tough fights. Especially Yozakura."
"Really? Didn't think I banged her up that bad." Ren told him.
"Then they'll probably rest after the attack on Hebijo to bolster the defenses of Gessen." Hanzō informs him of the most likely plan that they have.
"Why?" Ren asked him.
"Because since they didn't destroy all of Hanzō's Shinobi Kekkei,
"So what's the grand prize for this thing anyway?'" Ren asked Hanzō.
"There is no prize. Only punishment." Ganzō revealed to him before slowly sipping his tea.
"Okay, I feel like asking why is the only option I have right now."-
Hanzō then took a deep breath and then began explaining it to him.
"It's purpose is to create Shinobi who have the best shot of becoming Kagura.".
"It only ever happens every fifty years, so I've never experienced it." Hanzō told him nonchalantly.
"You see the problem with that, right?" Ren asked him. Why was that the time frame for it so long to happen? That seems way too long for it to happen. ineffective for whatever the purpose for things.
"It's actually supposed to weed out Shinobi schools." Hanzō informed Ren. "Though it is, admittedly, still too long a timeframe for its purpose." Hanzō admitted. "It's supposed to help create a Kagura, but it's way too inefficient for its purpose."
"But why?" Ren asked him, confused on this matter. Why
"Haah. I have no idea why. Only the council understands it."
"Asuka couldn't reach Yumi at all." Hanzō told him. His expression was resigned to the fact. "
"Really? She seems like the type that prefers talking with her enemies to fighting them." Ren told him.
"Talking isn't the problem. It's understanding where it matters. I couldn't stop Kurokage years ago because we couldn't understand each other." Hanzō told him. "I couldn't understand the way that he's felt, or the way that he's
"Really? You couldn't understand him?" Ren told him. "a
"It's sad, but true." Hanzō told him. "Shinobi all lost something at some point,
"She tries to see the best in everyone." Hanzō started. "She's a warm person capable of brightening things up with just her presence, but she can also be insensitive towards the feelings of others. She understands others as Shinobi first, and human beings second."
"Sounds problematic." Ren told him his honest feelings.
"It is. If she was more like other Shinobi it probably wouldn't be a problem, but she is my granddaughter after all. Shouldn't have expected anything less."
"So, do you have any of those generic Kekkei on you?" Ren asked him out of the blue.
"I have several, why?" Hanzō asked him, already getting an idea of where he's going.
"It's be bad if we were ambushed out of the blue by Shinobi and had no way of defending ourselves." Ren told him. "We also need to get some practice in. We're rustier than I thought we'd be."
"I see. You do have a point." Hanzō then left for a bit to retrieve the scrolls before coming back.
"Here you go." Hanzō said handing Ren the the scroll.
"So how do I use this?" Ren asked him.
"Raise it in the air and say Shinobi Kekkei."
"Okay." Ren then raised it in the air dramatically and shouted "Shinobi KEkkei!!" But there weren't any changes in the room. There were only the sounds of silence.
"Huh. Guess it won't work for anyone who's not a Shinobi." Ren thought to himself.
"No. It did work." Hanzō corrected him. "It just won't be as dramatic unless you decide to use a personalized one."
Right now Yozakura was distraught. She not only lost against her enemy, but they spared her life and lectured her.
Yozakura told them about their encounter with Ren. But she was also very irritated by it.
"He's simply infuriating!" Yozakura told Yumi. "He was so smug too! I just want to punch his face off!" She said, before breaking the table in front of her.
"Yozakura-san, calm down." Yumi told her.
"Yumichii's right." Shiki told her. "You've broken too many things already." She said, pointing towards a small pile of broken things in the room.
"Oh, right, sorry." Yozakura said, apologizing to her friends.
"So he's a danger after all."Yumi said to herself. She didn't think that he was a threat, but his comments about their meeting being a date must have thrown her off of her games.
"Do we report him?" Murakumo asked Yumi. That was a good point, reporting him will help take off the problem that manifested itself on their path..
"We will complete our mission." Yumi told them. "We must devote all of our energy to it.
We will create jii-sama's ideal world. And if we meet him again on our righteous paths," Yumi suddenly lost all light in her eyes. "We will crush him."
Goro Akechi wasn't one to ask pointless questions, he's considered himself better than that.
He's managed to deduce various things throughout his life. Despite his cases being solved using the Metaverse, his deduction skills were especially high.
However there was one question that he had to ask. Because not doing it will be harder for him. Especially with how loud they are right now.
"What's some more, you dumb bitch!? Want me to [Beep] you in [Beep] [Beep] [Beep?"
"Oh, yes! Ryōbi-chan!" Ryōna moaned out in pleasure. "Punish me more!" Alright, now is the time to speak up.
"What the fuck are you two doing?" Akechi asked Ryōbi as she was currently stepping on Ryona's backside while the other moaned in pleasure.
"This dumb bitch was whining about punishment, so I'm just giving it to her!" Ryōbi said whilewhile continually stepping on her. Akechi knew what sadism looked like. 'So they're on opposite ends of the spectrum.'
zadis.. looked like
"So you're perverts." Akechi told them bluntly. Everyone else looked away from them, knowing that it's hard not to shame them at this point. However the people themselves, or rather, one of them took immediate offense to the accusation.
"What!? Fuck no! It's just this stupid bitch!" She yelled, pointing at Ryōna.
"Oh! Insult me more!" Ryōna begged her.
"I honestly don't care what your interests are." Akechi told them. "But I suggest you do it behind closed doors."
"Listen to me you bastard! I am not-" Ryōbi started while marching towards Akechi, ready to stab him.
"Ryōbi!" Miyabi shouted, getting her attention. Ryōbi turned around to argue, but decided against it when she saw the glare in Miyabi's eyes. She decided to back away, not wanting to poke the serpent just yet. Not until the right moment.
Miyabi walked towards Akechi, glaring at him all the while. If this was anyone else in his position, then they'd probably crap their pants. But Akechi however easily maintained his composure. But there was something different about this interrogation. She seemed a lot more,
"What do you know of the Phantom Thieves?" Miyabi asked him with a glare.
"Why now?" Akechi asked her.
"I'm not going to bother asking why you want to know, since they have a power you'd probably want as much as mine. But I am curious about why you are asking now?" Akechi asked her once again.
"We've met someone you may know." Miyabi told him very bluntly. From her tone and the way she spoke with annoyance that doesn't seem related to him, Akechi had a good idea of who she was talking about. But he needed to make sure before anything else happened.
"A teenage boy around your age, with black frizzy hair, extremely shameless." Imu continued, but had a light blush on her face. It was af if she saw something.
"Shameless?" Akechi repeated after her. Sure, he's thought of Ren as someone who didn't care what others thought of him and who pretty much did whatever he wanted, but shameless? That didn't sound right.
"So, tell us what we want to know, and this may end alright for you." Miyabi said, threatening him. Akechi wasn't unnerved at all.
"I'll tell you one thing. Truly fight against him, and you'd lose." Akechi told her. After fighting against him and alongside him, Akechi was certain enough that he knew Ren's power well enough. No, not just his power, his will would probably be enough to lead him to winning against them.
