Author's Note:

The story is based on the book by Alexandre Dumas père. This means Rochefort is not a murdering sociopath, Aramis does not love the Queen, Constance and Milady are dead. Instead, Tréville, the King and Richelieu are alive and the Musketeers each have a loyal lackey at their side, of whom Planchet, d'Artagnan's footman, plays a particularly important role.

Because the changes in staff could be confusing, I am providing a cast list in advance, so you can always check here. All the other things that I place in an alternative universe are hopefully well enough explained within the story. No spoilers what that will be!

I know the story would probably be better off in another category (Books - Alexandre Dumas), but no one would read it there according to my experience. I'm sure I'll find interested readers here.

Since I wrote and finished the story many years ago, I can say that it will have about 50 chapters, depending on what I'm going to shorten, change and improve during translation.

Please tell me what you think, because reviews are my payment and recognition for all the hard work I put in this.

Enjoy reading!
