Sinnoh
In the region of Sinnoh, the storm was long gone, and the sun was shining, unlike Kanto. Another young woman could be seen coming outside her house, walking to the nearest river. She stared at the river, looking at her own reflection.
Her name was Johanna Berlitz. She lived in the small, peaceful village of Twinleaf town. She was known for being a fairly famous and talented coordinator. Though, after her recent contest, she decided to retire. Despite the fact that she won, she wasn't really enjoying it anymore, and neither was her pokemon. She decided to retire, and just settle in Twinleaf town, though she had another problem: What to do next? After all, money wasn't going to be an issue with how many contests she won, she just had nothing to do.
She stared at the river, and then decided to leave, but before she could, she notice something- or someone floating down the current.
Curious, she ran towards it, and as she got closer, she noticed it was a Pokemon! Not just any Pokemon though, this one looked different, nothing she had seen before! Perhaps it was from a different region?
Johanna sighed, she didn't have time to think about that. She quickly scooped up the red Pokemon, and ran quickly to her house.
She arrived home, with her Glameow happy to see her, though her grin faded when she noticed the wounded Pokemon on her trainer's hands.
Johanna frowned. "Sorry Glameow, but I need to take care of this Pokemon, I'll be with you in a bit!"
Glameow nodded in affirmation, and then proceeded to follow her Trainer.
Johanna laid the Pokemon down on her bed, and noticed the wounds on her. Upon closer inspection, she noticed just how scarred Latias was. Not only that, but she also didn't look old either, in fact, she looked fairly young!
Johanna grit her teeth, Just who could do this to such a Pokemon? And where are their parents? While Johanna pondered, she quickly jumped to a realization.
"Oh crap! I completely forgot to treat her wounds!"
Panicking, she quickly ran to another room, bringing back potions and bandages. She quickly sprayed the wounded Pokemon, and then she noticed the wings.
To say they were wounded heavily was an understatement. They looked mangled. Not like they were torn off, but it almost looked like it! There was so much dry blood on both weeks, and it was STILL bleeding, albeit not as much.
Johanna nearly puked looking at it! But she had to stay strong, for the sake of this poor Pokemon! She came back to her senses and quickly sprayed and bandaged it, though that would only be a temporary solution, the wings would need more treatment by someone more experienced in this area.
Johana sighed, happy she was able to save this Pokemon at the last minute, but she also felt sick. She quickly noticed Glameow bringing in a spare paper bag for her. She grabbed it, and barfed, then sighed in relief.
"Thanks Glameow, I really needed that."
The cat just chirped in affirmation, glad to help.
Johanna then got up. "There's just one more thing I need to do…"
Grabbing her phone, she quickly dialed for Professor Rowan, who she wasn't close with, but they were well-acquainted.
The phone rang for a few moments, then picked up.
"Johanna, it's been a while! What makes you call me?"
Johanna spoke with panic in her voice. "Sorry for interrupting, but I found some sort of red Pokemon floating in the nearby river! I already treated their wounds, but their winds seemed to be badly damaged, and I need your help with this!"
Professor Rowan immediately headed outside the lab, with Urgency on his voice. "I'm on my way!"
Johanna ended the call, putting the phone down. Not even five minutes later, Rowan knocked on the door. Johanna opened the door, and quickly led him to her room.
The professor stared in awe, before finally mustering a word.
"You say you found this floating in the river near your house?"
"Yes, nobody seemed to be near them either."
Rowan looked closely, before taking his coat off. "Permission to remove the bandages?"
Johanna looked nervous, but obliged, "Yes, just, tell me when you're done?" she said while looking away.
The professor opened the bandages, then gasped. He didn't throw up, but he felt sick to his stomach. This definitely wasn't the work of a Pokemon, looked more like the work of bad weather, or a person even…
The Professor brought out his medkit, and quickly started treating the wings. As he did so, he began to explain to Joahanna about this Pokemon she found.
After the lengthy explanation, Johanna sat there, trying to process it. She turned around, noticing the wings were bandaged up again, sighing as she didn't have to see the gross wounds again.
"So, if there's a young Latias, is there a chance she has a brother; A young Latios?" She pondered.
Rowan nodded. "Likely so, but we won't know until she wakes up and confirms it." The professor got up, ready to leave, as he put his coat on.
Before he left, he remembered something.
"That's right! I forgot to give you this!" He quickly pulled out a huge stack of papers from his bag, putting it on Johanna's hands.
Johanna felt a bit heavy holding this huge stack. "Professor, just what are these papers?!"
Rowan looked at her sternly, "This is all the information you need about Latias. I suggest you read through it carefully." Before he waved goodbye, heading back to his lab.
Johanna put the stack of papers down, before pouting. "As if I'll read all of this. Besides, I can raise a legendary, it shouldn't be that hard, right?"
Glameow looked at her trainer with worry, and nudged at the huge stack of papers towards her trainer.
Johanna sighed. "Perhaps I'll skim through it, at least I can get the important parts down." She said as she began reaching for the papers.
Johanna thought to herself one last time before beginning to read. Maybe this is the break I need from coordinating?
