Must… press… on!
This was the last thing the young Latios could think of. Try as he might, the weather gods were simply not on his side today. He was overwhelmed, and he was blown away, separating him from his sister.
The last thing he remembers is landing into the hard ground, and then blacking out.
Brother… BROTHER!
The little pokemon screamed. Immediately yelling for his sister. Though, something was off.
He was not outside, rather he was inside a house…?
The Pokemon shuddered, did the mean woman capture him? He instantly looked around, planning an escape route. Seeing an open window, the Pokemon decided to fly away, however as he opened his wings, he felt an immense pain. He quickly folded the wings, and yelled in pain. Checking his wings, he saw that they were banaged, and there was no chance he would be able to fly.
Before he could think about what to do, he heard a voice.
"Oh! You're up!"
The Pokemon turned around, and noticed a young, nice looking lady behind him, not from what he expected.
He quickly acted on instinct anyway, trying to jump out of the window yet again, but to no avail, as opening his wings caused the surging pain again.
Delia ran to the Pokemon in pain. "You shouldn't try to run! Your wings are in too bad of a condition!"
He nodded. She was right, no matter what, he couldn't open his wings yet, but could he really trust this human? Even if she did take care of him, that doesn't redeem what that woman did to his family!
Delia leaned down to the frightened Pokemon, patting his head. "I understand you might not trust me, but please, don't worry! You can stay here as long as you'd like, but I would suggest you wait for your wings to heal at least." She then held out her hand, offering support.
He pondered about the offer. He never thought well of humans, and his recent encounter certainly wouldn't make things any better. Though, something about Delia just felt… nice. It was unlike anything he had felt from a human, only getting this sort of feeling of comfort from his family.
Maybe it wouldn't hurt to trust her, right? He smiled, and shook Delia's hand, feeling better.
"T-Thanks…" The Pokemon let out weakly, before getting up.
Delia beamed. "Alright, now that's over with, come downstairs with me! I'll introduce you to human food!"
This made the Pokemon's eyes widen. He had never tried human food before. Either he would eat fruits from the trees, Pokemon food, or even grass. Human food was something he had wanted to try, but never got the chance to.
One Meal Later…
The now-stuffed Pokemon was totally out of it, laying on the floor after such a good meal, considering he hadn't eaten in almost a day.
Delia smiled, looking at the young Pokemon. "My, you sure do have an appetite, huh?"
The young Pokemon looked ashamed, but before he could speak up, Delia fired another question.
"Do you have a name?" She asked, still smiling.
The Pokemon shook his dead, still a bit nervous to muster talking to the human.
Delia gasped. "You don't? That's a problem! We should probably come up with one!"
The Latios gave the young woman a confused look, not really knowing what his name should be.
Delia snapped her fingers. "What about Satoshi?"
Ash shook his head, before speaking up. "T-Too Long."
Delia sighed, "Fair enough, what about Ash?"
The Latias stared at her, giving it a thought. Ash… the name was short and simple, but he liked it. It sounded far better than "Satoshi", and it had a nice ring to it; he couldn't really explain it in words.
He nodded to Delia, who seemed very pleased. "Glad you liked it, Ash!"
Ash smiled, happy he was able to find such a caring human. Sure, he didn't fully trust her yet, but with his current situation, what choice did he have? After all, this Delia person did look caring enough to stay with for a bit, and it would be better if he went looking for his sister once he was healed.
Delia then got up. "Do you mind coming with me, I need to get you checked up with Professor Oak!"
Ash quickly ran behind the kitchen, cowering in fear. He still quite didn't trust all humans…
Delia looked at Ash nervously. "Oh Ash, you don't need to worry about him! He's the one who healed you after I found you!"
Hearing this, Ash slowly came walking to Delia, before staying close to her, as much as he could.
Delia laughed, happy to see his trust. "Glad you trust me, Ash! Now let's go!"
Both of them then went ahead to the Pokemon Lab, with Ash both curious and nervous to meet this "Professor Oak".
They both made it to the Lab, near the door. Delia looked at Ash, who was still somewhat nervous, though not as much as before.
Delia reassured Ash that everything would be fine, before opening the door.
Ash was met with Professor Oak, who smiled. "Why, hello Delia! I see you brought the Latios too!"
Delia smiled, "His name is Ash!" Before introducing Ash to the professor who healed him.
Any signs of nervousness were gone from Ash, seeing the kindness the Professor displayed, it felt almost like the same feeling he had with his family…
"Hey, Ash? Are you alright?"
Ash snapped back to reality, seeing a concerned Professor Oak and Delia.
He nodded, making both of them sigh in relief.
"Alright, why don't you head outside to the back of the lab? You can interact with the various Pokemon I used to have!" The professor said while smiling.
Ash's eyes widened, before he broke out into a huge grin, and quickly ran as fast he could to the location.
Oak laughed, "He's just a bundle of energy, isn't he?"
Delia smiled in response. "Yep! Now, what did you want to discuss with me?"
Oak sighed before going on. "You see… I have an idea of some sorts, but we have to hope Ash agrees to it…"
