He had trained a long time for this moment, but it was still hard to believe that this moment was actually happening!
Izuku was staring up at U.A. High. The high school that was responsible for training some of the most powerful and most skilled heroes in the world!
Heroes like Best Jeanist, Endeavor, and the Symbol of Peace/Number One Hero: All Might, all went to this very school and ended up becoming some of the best heroes around!
'Well, after all the training that I put myself through I'm defiantly not gonna mess around during the exam!' thought the green-haired teen as he started to walk towards the building.
"Out of the way, Deku!" growled an all too familiar voice.
'Just my luck to run into him!' Izuku turned around and was greeted with the sight on a frowning Katsuki Bakugo walking towards him. The look on his face was clear he was not happy to see Izuku.
"Move it or your dead! Got it?"
Izuku just smiled and stepped aside while bowing his head, "Forgive me, great and mighty, Bakugo. I didn't realize that your presents would be accounted for this early." he said with a fancy tone
Katsuki growled and tightened his fist in anger as Izuku mocked him. It was always so frustrating to him how Izuku never took him seriously ever since his 'Quirk' manifested when he was five, a year later than they should. However, it didn't change the fact that Katsuki was determined to prove that he was the superior fighter and would become the superior hero.
"You better pray that we don't end up in the same area together, nerd, cause I'll kill ya!" he threatened.
"Keep telling yourself that." smiled Izuku.
Katsuki then stomped away and disappear when he entered the building.
Izuku signed in annoyance, 'I don't think he even tries to pull that stick from out of his rear end.'
All of the participants were inside the auditorium of U.A. for the Exam Orientation.
It was dark for a moment, but the lights then turned on and a TV screen showed the symbol of U.A.
"What's up, U.A. candidates?" asked the booming voice of Pro Hero, President Mic. He was a tall, slender man with long, spiky long hair and a small mustache. He wore a pair of headphones with the word "HAGE" written on the headband and a pair of orange-tinted sunglasses.
"Thanks for tuning in to me, your school D.J. Welcome to today's performance! Everybody say 'Hey'!"
He put his hand around one of his ears, wanting to hear the candidates say "Hey", but all he got was silence.
"That's cool, my examinee listeners! I'm here to present the guidelines for your practical! ARE YOU READY?!" he sang the last part, but just like last time, he was met with silence.
"Huh, tough crowd." chuckled Izuku as he seat in his seat. Since he jogged a bit to get inside the building, he was able to find a good seat, which thankfully wasn't next to Katsuki. He wasn't going to let the blonde ruin his good mood today after all the hard work he put into getting ready for the practical exam.
"This is how the test is going to go, my listeners!" announced President Mic.
The TV screen behind him showed a square that said 'Current Location' before smaller squares appeared with lines that attached them to the 'Current Location' square. Each one had a letter from A to G.
"You'll be experiencing a ten minute long 'Mock Cityscape Maneuvers'! Bring along whatever you want. After that, you'll all be assigned to go towards your testing locations." explained President Mic.
Izuku looked at his sheet to see which Battle Center he was going to. He just hoped that he and Katsuki won't end up in the same area and cause a scene with him.
The TV screen then started to show a small 3D modal city. Then black robotic-like figures appeared on the screen with numbers on them.
"Each of the testing locations are filled with robots that will act as 'villains'. Points are rewarded for defeating robots and the more robots you defeat, the more points you'll earn based on the robots that you defeat. Some robots have more points than others, so try and destroy as many as you can! But you're only allowed to use your Quirks to attack the robots, no playing the anti-hero and attacking your fellow participants!" warned President Mic.
'Well, duh. Heroes shouldn't do that sort of stuff. If anyone fails is because they weren't fast enough to get to the robots in time.' thought Izuku.
Before anything else could be explained, a participant stood up and raised his hand, "Excuse me, sir!? May I ask a question?"
The student himself was a tall and muscular young man with black hair and wore rectangular half-rim glasses, which made him look like a very serious individual.
"There appears to be no fewer than four variants of these robots on this handout! Such a blatant error, if it is one, is highly unbecoming for U.A., Japan's top academy for heroes! We're all here to become modal heroes after all!" he said.
"Alright, alright. Examinee 7111, nice catch. The fourth kind of robot is worth zero points! He's more of an obstacle rather than an opponent to face! There's one in each testing site! All they do is rampage around!" explained President Mic.
"So, it's a gimmick that's to be avoided. Thank you, sir. My apologies for the interruption." Examinee 7111 sat back down.
'Wow, that guy really takes this exam stuff seriously.' Izuku thought to himself.
"That's all from me! I'll leave my listeners with our school motto, PLUS ULTRA! Break a leg out there everyone!" President Mic told the participants.
The students all got up from their seats and began to head out of the room to get ready to head towards their assigned testing ground. Izuku got up from his seat and was smiling with excitement. The moment that he had been training for months was about to start!
(One Bus Ride Later)
The participants all started exiting the bus after it took them to their assigned training ground. They were all given a chance to change into different clothes if they chose to. Izuku was one of them, as he hopped off the bus with his light blue workout clothes that he used a few times during his ten month training for this very exam!
Everyone took a moment looked at the testing ground that they were going to be entering soon. It was a huge mock city with a bunch of empty buildings. It was surrounded by a huge wall that had a pair of big gates that they would be entering in a few minutes.
Izuku decided that the best use of his time would be to get his legs ready. He started doing some lunges to stretch out the muscles in his legs, before them started doing a few squats.
As he did his workout, some of the other participants looked at him for a moment. A few of them thought that Izuku was a bit too average looking and didn't seen like a strong individual, so they come to the conclusion that he wasn't going to do too well on the exam.
They were in for a shock!
"AND...BEGIN!"
Everyone was surprised to hear President Mic's voice and started to look around to see where it came from. Izuku's looked towards the wall surrounding the mock city and saw a small pair of speakers.
"WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!? GO! GET MOVING! THERE ARE NO COUNTDOWNS IN A REAL LIFE BATTLE!"
There got everyone's attention and they realized that the exam had started!
Everyone saw the gates open and started to rush into towards the mock city. Izuku smiled and was eager to get started! He crouched down and with all of the strength in his legs, leaped over the gate and into the city!
*WHOOSH*
He was now hundreds of meters in the air and looked around to see if he could find any robots to smash and earn some points. He didn't see any at first, but his did see the other participants about ten meters out of the gate. He soon started to descend from the air and fall down a bit before he spotted the first robot/his first target!
'Gotcha!'
Izuku curled himself into a green ball and started to spin at high speed as a buzzing noise caught the attention of the participants. A few of them looked up to see a large green ball in the air.
"What's that green ball up there?"
"Is it part of the exam?"
"Maybe we need to hit it for a surprise number of points?"
Before anymore questions could be asked, Izuku used a Homing Attack to launch himself towards the robot he saw earlier and closed the distance between them both in about two seconds.
*BOOM*
He smashed right through the bot and became the first one to score some points!
Once the robot was smashed he uncurled himself and landed on his feet to look and his handy work. Metal and wires were scattered all over the place into smaller piece than he thought.
'Huh, I'm better at this than I thought!' he smiled.
The green-haired teen looked up at saw that the rest of the participants were still a few meters out of the gate with shocked expressions on their faces! Izuku gave his competition a wink before zooming off, leaving behave a green streak where he once stood.
The participants that underestimated Izuku quickly learned that he was more than meets the eye!
(With Izuku)
*SMASH*
*BOOM*
*KABOOM*
Left and right, our green-haired speedster was destroying robots with ease. He had already smashed about thirteen bots in the last twenty-four seconds and was still going strong.
'I think I have about twenty-two points now.' he thought.
As he sped along the road of the mock city, he soon saw another robot. Without wasting a second, he run towards it and used another Homing Attack!
*BOOM*
"And another one bites the dust!" he cheered ad he then took off again.
*ZOOM*
Izuku started to run a bit faster as he run up the side of a building to get a better view of his surroundings. He landed on the roof and started to look around to see if he could find any more robots to fight.
*KABOOM*
*CRASH*
*SMASH*
*BOOM*
He could the sound of multiple robot vs student battles going on around the area, that's for sure! He knew that this was going to be the case, as this was a competition and everyone was that was taking part was determined to get into U.A. in order to get trained to become great heroes!
But, Izuku was no different and he was going to giving his all!
He kept on searching until his eyes landed on three robots close together!
Without wasting another moment, he used his Homing Attack to send himself flying towards the trio of machines.
*SMASH*
He destroyed one with his Homing Attack, before uncurling himself in the air and flicking a finger from both of his hands at the second robot.
"Sonic Wind!"
*KABOOM*
The second robot was hit by pressurized air that came from both his fingers, which ended up removing the upper part of the robots head. He then looked at the last robot and used his Homing Attack to close some of the distance before he uncurled and lifted his left leg as he descended down.
"Sonic Eagle!"
*BOOM*
He brought down his left leg into an axe kick that took off the third robots head just like the one before it!
Izuku them landed on the ground and turned to see the pile of metal that he left behind.
"Do I know how to put on a show or what!?" he asked himself.
He then jumped off towards the next building to see what other robots he could find and smash to bits.
"SIX MINUTES AND FOURTHY-SEVEN SECONDS LEFT!" called out President Mic's voice over the speakers.
"Well, gotta go fast if I want to win this thing!" Izuku sped off towards the next robot that he saw.
(Inside an Observation Room)
A bunch of teachers/Pro Heroes were looking at multiple screen that showed all of the students from different testing ground as they battled against the robots of the exam. Many of them were impressed by a lot of the would be students that were easily tearing the robots apart!
"The examinees clearly are at a disadvantage by not knowing how many 'villain' robots there are, or their location."
"Not to mention the limited amount of time that they've got on their hand is also a factor that's working against them."
"Despite this, there are a lot of promising student this year and many are being quite resourceful and are using their Quirks in very creative way!"
One of the screens showed an examinee that had a wing-like Quirk that was on top of a building.
"Some use them to gather more information and the location of their opponents."
Another screen shows Izuku running so fast that he screen just shows a green streak moving along the road of the mock city.
"Others use speed to get a head of their peers."
One screen showed an examinee firing a laser blast from out of a belt he was wearing.
"Another advantage is keeping calm under a lot of pressure."
The next screen showed Katsuki as he was standing on top of a pile of destroyed robots while smoke was coming out of his hands.
"Combat and creativity is also big plus as well."
One teacher looked at the screen that showed Izuku when he took down the trio of robots a few minutes ago. His eyes narrowed that the screen a bit.
"Some of them are being a bit too full of themselves if you ask me." he said.
"Well then, let's see how they react when the real test begins!" a hand button a big red button.
(Back at the Testing Ground)
*BOOM*
*BLAM*
*SMASH*
Robots left and right were dropping like flies as the participants were making short work of them. Izuku being the one doing most of the work!
"I think I have about thirty-eight points by now. I think that should be good!" he guessed.
*STOMP*
Izuku stopped running and looked around to see what made that noise.
"What was that?"
*STOMP*
The ground moved again as the green-haired speedster tried to keep his keep his balance and not fall on his rear.
"What's with the shaking?" he asked.
*STOMP*
*STOMP*
*STOMP*
"Why invited a giant to the exam?" asked Izuku and he looked around to try and find the source of the shaking.
The other examinees also felt the shaking, but they then looked up and stared in terror at something that not only caused the shaking, but cased a shadow over them.
A giant green robot that was way taller than the tallest building in the mock city had appeared, and was stomping its way towards the examinees!
"I guess a giant robot would be more specific. How did one notice that before?" asked Izuku in a calm voice.
"RUN FOR IT!"
"I'M OUT OF HERE!"
"I NOT TAKING ON THAT THING!"
"MOVE IT!"
Multiple examinees started to run away from the giant green bot, as it was too big and powerful for them to take on. But Izuku wasn't afraid, he looked at the robot as it stomped closer to him. He just stood and watched it come closer with every passing second.
Many of the examinees rushed past him, one in particular was the same examinee that asked a question to President Mic back at the auditorium, looked at him and wondered why he wasn't running away as well. Izuku had a super speed, so why wasn't he already the furthest away from the giant robot?
Izuku's eyes were looking over various parts of the robot to try and find any weak point for him to smash. He planed to take that thing down and was going to use the rest of his time to do so, since he was already confident enough that he had enough points to pass.
"Ow!"
His attention was caught by the sound of a voice and he looked down from the robot to see a girl that his one of her legs trapped under some rubble from the damaged road.
Without wasting a second, he ran off while leaving a green streak behind himself and appeared next to the girl in about two seconds. Before she could even say anything, he quickly grabbed as many pieces of rubble as he could carry and tossed them aside before picking up more and doing it again. He freed her in about five seconds and then picked her up bride style, "Hang on!"
The girl once again couldn't answer as Izuku ran back towards the direction he came from and placed her down where all of the other examinees where gathered, a safe distance away from the robot.
"W-Why you'd help me?" asked the girl.
"Because you needed help. Plus, its what heroes do: help others!"
Everyone who heard him just stared as he walked back towards the giant robot that was still approaching them.
Izuku got down and curled himself into a ball and started to spin rapidly will remaining where he was, before he call out, "Spin Dash!"
*ZOOM*
He then rolled all the way the robot and smashed right through it's left leg. He didn't stop there however, as he turned around and smashed the other leg. With all of it's legs now gone, the robot fell to the ground and crashed into the road! But Izuku still wasn't done, as he jumped into the air while still in his ball form and used countless Homing Attacks to smash the rest of the robot into pieces!
*SMASH*
*SMASH*
*SMASH*
*SMASH*
*SMASH*
*SMASH*
Over and over again, he just kept on hitting the robot until it was barely recognizable anymore. The other participants we're left speechless at the display of speed and power that was being shown in front of them!
"TIMES UP!" called out President Mic's voice through out the speaker.
Upon hearing that the exam was over, Izuku uncurled himself and jumped off the pile of metal that had once been a robot. All of the other participants stared at him in shock of how strong he was. When he saw that everyone was starring at him, Izuku just gave them a thumbs up and smiled back that them, "Not too shabby, wouldn't you say?"
All the other participants struggled to say something back, but eventually, they started to share their opinions on what they just saw.
"That was incredible!"
"I don't think I've even seen a race car move that fast."
"I don't get the curling into a ball thing, but who cares when your that powerful!"
"Dude, you were awesome out there!"
"You're definitely getting into U.A. No doubt about it!"
One by one they all started praising Izuku for his accomplishment in taking down the robot that was the biggest one around. They all thought that thing was invincible given the sheer size and appearance, but the green-haired teen prove otherwise.
"Very nicely done everyone!" said a voice as an elderly woman walked through the crowd of teenagers.
She looked to be a bit short with grey hair wrapped up in buns that had a syringe looped through them. She wore a doctor's coat and a dress with yellow and red vest-like designs on each side, two yellow buttons, and a pink belt. She also wore boots an had a helmet on her head that had a visor. In addition, she had a walking cane that looked like a syringe.
"Hey, your Recovery Girl, aren't you!?" asked Izuku with an excited tone of voice.
"Why yes I'm, it seems that you heard of me, young man." she replied.
"You bet, I love researching and looking up heroes, so I know a bit about tons of heroes! You can heal people with your Quirk by kissing them, right?" he asked.
"Indeed, I'm here to heal anyone that's been injured during the exam!" she said out loud.
Izuku heard enough for what he was about to do next, "In that case..."
*ZOOM*
He ran off and then reappeared in front of Recovery Girl with the same girl that he saved in his arms as he then gently lowered her in front of the elderly hero, "her leg was trapped under some rubble, I think it could use some healing."
"Then allow me to make you feel better, deary!" she said to the girl.
Everyone watched as Recovery Girl kissed the girl's injured leg and watch as it was then surrounded by a green aura, once it disappeared, the girl touched her leg and felt it, "It feels all better!" she said.
"Of course, just like the boy said." replied Recovery Girl.
The girl got up and looked at Recovery Girl with a smile, "Thanks you for healing me, Recovery Girl!"
The elderly hero smiled, "Just doing my job, deary!"
The girl then turned to Izuku, "And thank you for saving me!"
Izuku gave her a thumbs up, "No problem! Just doing what a hero is suppose to do!"
He then started walking past the crowd. With the exam now over, all the participants could now go home and wait for the results of the exam to come by mail. However, the girl wasn't done thanking him just yet, "Wait! I never-"
*ZOOM*
Izuku disappeared with a green streak left behind before it eventually faded.
"-got your name." the girl looked on in disappointment.
Recovery Girl walked up next to her, "Don't worry, deary, I'm sure that you'll see him again. Maybe you two we'll be in the same class when school start!" she said to cheer the girl up.
"Maybe your right!" replied the girl with a smile on her face.
All of the other participants began to leave and wait to see if they would receive and acceptance letter in the coming weeks or so. Once thing was for sure, with the kind of performance that Izuku gave, anyone would be more surprised if he didn't make it in!
(One Week Later)
Some time has passed since the Entrance Exam and Izuku was relaxing after spending ten long months in preparing for it. He knew that he must have gotten enough points to pass, but a small part of him was still worried that it might not be enough!
He was in the living room with Sonikku and Eri, playing with his Pokémon Trading Cards. He held some Pikachu, Infernape, and Pidgeot cards in his hands, Sonikku had Talonflame, Electabuzz, and Surskit cards, and Eri was holding some Jolteon, Ralts, and Leavanny cards.
The three all looked at each of the moves that the Pokémon on their cards had available and planned their next move carefully. The three of then then took and card and slammed it onto the table!
"THUNDERBOLT!"
"QUICK ATTACK!"
"CHAO!"
Eri placed down Jolteon, Izuku picked Pidgeot, and Sonikku chose Surkit.
"Kids, no yelling in the house!" called out Inko.
"Sorry, mommy!" apologized Eri.
"Sorry, mom!" said Izuku.
"Chao!" replied Sonikku.
Izuku just signed as he was having a difficult time waiting for U.A. to send him a letter to see if he got accepted or not. Since he could move a super sonic speed, it only makes sense that he was incredibly impatient and waiting was one of the hardest things for him to do. He tried to keep himself distracted this past week with all sorts of games activities and hanging out with both Tails and Og, but it was starting to become too much for him!
"Izuku! It's here!" called out Inko.
Those words caught everyone's attention as they all looked at the direction that Inko's voice came from.
"W-What's here?" asked the teenager.
"Your letter from U.A." answered his mother.
*ZOOM*
Izuku was gone in a flash and appeared before his mother. She handed him the letter and he them sped off towards his room to see if he was accepted or not!
The green-haired teen was now locked in his room and was waiting to calm himself down a bit before opening it. Once he got his breathing under control, he walked over to his desk and sat down on his chair. He then opened the letter and a small flat device that landed on the desk.
"What is this?" asked a very confused Izuku.
The device suddenly shone a light from the top and created a holographic screen. Where a loud booming voice made itself heard, "I am here as a projection image!"
Izuku couldn't believe what he was seeing. It was projection of All Might!
"Greatings, young man! You're looking at U.A. High's newest faculty member, here to give you your report on how you did on the Entrance Exam!"
All Might, a teacher at U.A? That was awesome!
"On to the results! You did very well in the written exam, Young Midoriya. And you didn't do too bad on the practical exam either. With a score of thirty-eight points, you passed, but only barely..."
Izuku signed a breath of relief. He barely passed, but still passed, so he was now officially a U.A. student!
"...That is if Villain Points were the only factor. Which isn't the case!"
Izuku's attention was immedeatly caught by what the Number One Hero just said. What did he mean by only factor?
"Here's a small clip from a key moment of your performance during the Entrance Exam!" All Might stepped aside and allowed the screen to show Izuku running towards the brown-haired girl and freeing her from the rubble before he got her to safety.
"You see, Young Midoriya, the practical exam wasn't graded on just combat alone. How could a hero course reject someone who is committed to helping others, no matter the consequences that he or she might face? You risked yourself to save a fellow examinee from harm, which is what being a true hero is all about! Saving someone when they need it the most! For that kind of bravery and selflessness, we have Rescue Points. Which are kept a secret from you examinees in order to see if you got the heart to help out someone you're suppose to compete against, meaning you earn a lot of Rescue Points!"
Izuku couldn't believe it! He got more than just Villain Points just for helping someone out because it felt right!? He knew that saving others was part of being a hero, but he didn't think he would be rewarded for it so soon!
The screen then changed and showed a scoreboard for the placing of students with the most points in the Entrance Exam.
Izuku Midoriya: Villain Points: 38 + Rescue Points: 60 = 98 Points
Katsuki Bakugo: Villain Points: 77 + Rescue Points: 0 = 77 Points
Eijiro Kirishima: Villain Points: 39 + Rescue Points: 35 = 74 Points
Ochaco Uraraka: Villain Points: 28 + Rescue Points: 45 = 73 Points
Ibara Shiozaki: Villain Points: 36 + Rescue Points: 32 = 68 Points
Izuku was left dumbstruck at the fact the he got first place in the exam. He knew that he was going to pass before this, but to not only pass, but get first place as well! He was really glad he trained hard for the past ten months now!
"Welcome, Young Midoriya, to your Hero Academy! We'll be looking forward seeing you in our classrooms and to seeing the kind of hero you become when you graduate! All Might, out!"
The hologram ended and the device shut down.
The other three members of the household were waiting outside of Izuku's door for him to come out and give him the news. It felt hard to wait for so long, even if it was just for a few minutes, but Izuku finally stepped out of his room.
"Well, what happened, sweetie?" asked Inko.
"Chao?" asked Sonikku.
"Are you going to superhero school, Izu?" asked Eri.
The speedster said nothing for a moment, which ended up worrying the rest of the family, but he them gave then a smile and a thumbs up, "I got in!"
"YES!" cheered Eri as she hugged her older brother. Sonikku and Inko joined in and the whole family wrapped their arms around each other.
Izuku had made it in to the school that he always wanted to enter in order to become a great hero. But with a new beginning, also comes a new set of challenges that he'll need to face in the future. But it won't matter what'll happen, cause he'll never give up the fight to make his dream come true!
