Sorry for the wait and sorry for leaving the last chapter on a bit of a cliff hanger, but welcome to Chapter 3 of Dragon Ball PnF. I hope the wait was worth it. Enjoy.
The Summer Vacation Gang kept running. Unfortunately, they were starting to tire, and the dinosaur was gaining on them. Thankfully, the Jet was within sight and they were nearly there. They used their last ounce of strength to sprint towards the Jet. They managed to make it in time, the problem was getting everyone in and taking off. They managed to get the cockpit open and started climbing in, unfortunately the dinosaur had caught up and had started attacking the Jet.
"Ferb get us out of here," said Phineas.
Ferb started the Jet and was about to take off, but unfortunately the dinosaur had figured out what they were doing and slammed its tail against the engines. The Jet shut down and died. They were not going anywhere.
"Now what do we do?" asked Isabella scared.
"I don't know, but we can't stay here," said Phineas. "If we do, we'll either get eaten, crushed or both."
Thankfully, the dinosaur was now more preoccupied with smashing the Jet, then he was with eating the children. This gave them the opportunity they needed to open the cockpit and get out. But their situation was not much better. They were stuck on a deserted island, with no way to get home. To make matters worse, they were about to get eaten by a giant dinosaur. While the dinosaur was still occupied, they decided to make another run for it. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for the giant reptile to realise, that his lunch was running away. The creature started chasing them again, determined to eat them. Thankfully for the children, their saviour was coming and fast.
Goku was just arriving at the island, hoping he could reason with the other Dragon Ball hunter over the Dragon Ball they had gained. What he found surprised him. Five young children were being chased by a giant dinosaur. It didn't occur to Goku that these were the Dragon Ball hunters. All he cared about now, was getting these children to safety.
"Hey," yelled Goku.
Everyone on the island, even the dinosaur looked up to the sky in confusion.
"Didn't your mother tell you not to pick on children," said Goku flying down.
Goku picked up the giant creature with ease and flew him away from the island. The five kids had no clue what had just happened, all they knew was that they were safe and out of breath. They all collapsed to the ground to catch their breath.
"What was that?" asked Baljeet puffing.
"I don't know, but it just saved our lives," said Buford, also puffing.
"It all happened so fast, I didn't even see their face," said Isabella.
"Well from what I could see, he looked human. Maybe he's a superhero," said Phineas happily.
"Dinner Bell, superheros are just comics and cartoons, they don't exist," said Buford.
"Buford, we've met The Avengers, we've fought supervillains," said Baljeet.
"That doesn't prove this guy's a superhero," said Buford.
"Maybe, I'm just hoping he's a good guy," said Phineas.
"Well, now what do we do?" asked Isabella.
They all decided to head back to the Jet. What they saw was not pretty. It was smashed beyond repair. Even if they had their tools, the chances of fixing the plane were slim. To make matters worse, they could not even contact home, because none of them had cell signal. Theoretically, Phineas and Ferb could increase the cell signal of their phones, but they did not have the equipment to do so. They were stuck, and unlike the day they had chased the sun around the world, they did not have a giant map they could turn into a giant paper aeroplane. Their best hope was that the person who saved them would return. Thankfully, their hopes were quickly answered as their saviour was flying back to the island, having dropped the dinosaur on another island. The kids were all sitting on the ground wondering what to do, when suddenly they heard someone land in front of them.
"Hey, you kids ok?" asked Goku concerned.
"Yeah. Say, were you the guy who got rid of the dinosaur?" asked Phineas, as everyone stood up.
"Yup that was me," said Goku, grinning.
"Wow you must be super strong," said Isabella in amazement.
"Yeah I'm pretty strong," said Goku grinning cheekily.
"Are you a superhero?" asked Baljeet.
"Well, I wouldn't call myself a superhero, but I have saved the world a few times," said Goku humbly.
"How'd you get your superpowers?" asked Phineas curiously.
"Well let's just say I didn't get them in the traditional sense," said Goku.
"What do you mean?" asked Baljeet.
"Well, you know how superhero's in those TV shows get their powers through some freak accident?" asked Goku.
"Yeah, are you saying you didn't?" asked Phineas.
"Nope, I got my strength through training and hard work," said Goku.
"Wow," said Isabella amazed.
It was then that Phineas had another idea, of how they could spend their summer.
"Do you think you could teach us. Teach us how to fly and be super strong?" asked Phineas.
Goku had to think about this.
"Um, I guess I could. Aside from my sons, I have not really had many students. But if you guys are willing to put in the hard work, I'd be glad to take you on as students," said Goku, happily.
"Really, thanks Mister," said Phineas, as everyone else thought about how exciting it could be for them to train to be real life superheroes.
Phineas was about to introduce them all before he realised something. Was this man the person who had started collecting the other Dragon Balls. If that was the case, they would likely have to hand theirs over, but he had a feeling that would be a small price to pay, if they got to see the Eternal Dragon and train to get super powers.
"Say, you weren't looking for this by any chance were you," said Phineas, pulling out the Dragon Ball.
Goku was impressed, these kids had managed to find a Dragon Ball on their own.
"Wow, you kids found a Dragon Ball? How'd you manage that? These things are near impossible to find," said Goku.
"We built this device to help us locate the energy signature it gave of," said Phineas, showing Goku the device.
"You even built your own Dragon Radar? Now I'm really impressed. I only know one other person on earth who can do that," said Goku, examining the device.
"See I told you we should've called the device the Dragon Radar," said Baljeet.
"Yeah, well I still think it's a stupid name," said Buford.
"Guys, I really don't think this is the time to argue over the name of the device," said Isabella.
Goku however, had not been listening to the kids argue and was instead still examining the Dragon Radar, Phineas and Ferb had built.
"I should introduce you kids to Bulma. I think she'd be impressed with how you built this at such a young age," said Goku, breaking up the children's argument.
"Who's Bulma?" asked Baljeet.
"An old friend of mine, she built the Dragon Radar I'm using," said Goku, showing the kids his Dragon Radar, which was a lot smaller than theirs.
"Mister, can I see that for a second?" asked Phineas.
"I don't see why not," said Goku, giving Phineas the Dragon Radar.
Phineas clicked the button at the top of the device and was impressed by how much more accurate it was then theirs. It gave nearly an exact location of where to find the Dragon Balls, and the fact that it was much smaller than theirs, impressed him even more. Phineas wanted to see the mechanics of this.
"Would you mind if I unscrewed the back? I'd really like to see how this works?" asked Phineas.
"Maybe another time. I'm not saying you'll break it, but if you do, Bulma might kill me," said Goku.
"Alright, but I have another question," said Phineas, handing the radar back.
"What's that?" asked Goku, taking the Radar.
"These Dragon Balls. Do they really work?" asked Phineas.
"Of course they do. I've made many wishes on these balls," said Goku happily.
"Really? What are you wishing for this time?" asked Baljeet.
"Let's just say I'm fulfilling a promise to an old friend," said Goku.
"So, I'm guessing your gonna need this Dragon Ball?" asked Phineas sadly.
"Yeah, you need all seven for them to work," said Goku.
"Well can we ask a favour?" asked Phineas.
"Sure, I guess," said Goku.
"We've decided we don't need to make a wish, we just want to see the Dragon," said Phineas.
"Well that shouldn't be a problem. Also, if you really want, you can still make a wish," said Goku, confused by the children's behaviour.
"Wait we can?" asked Isabella surprised.
"Of course, why not?" asked Goku.
"Well the book I read on these, said that the Dragon can only grant one wish every time its summoned," said Ferb.
"Oh, right, I guess you wouldn't know," said Goku, scratching his head in embarrassment.
"Know what?" asked Buford.
"About 10 years ago, the Dragon Balls were upgraded. We now get two wishes every time the Dragon is summoned," said Goku happily.
"Really, so we can still get a wish?" asked Isabella with excitement.
"Yup, so if you want, we can go find the last two Balls and summon the Dragon together. I'll make my wish, then the last wish is all yours," said Goku.
"Wow thanks Mister," said Phineas smiling, but then he realised they had a problem. "But our Jet's broken, meaning we can't follow you and I'm sure you don't want to carry all of us."
"Well that wouldn't be a problem, but I may have a way to make it easier for all of us," said Goku.
"How so?" asked Baljeet curiously.
Goku looked towards the sky and yelled, "NIMBUS."
The kids had no idea what Goku was doing, but their questions were answered very quickly. They spotted a yellowish cloud looking object flying right towards them. It stopped right in front of Goku.
"What's this?" asked Baljeet.
"This is the Flying Nimbus, I've been using it ever since I was a kid," said Goku.
"Looks like a normal cloud to me," said Buford.
"It might not look like much, but its fast believe me," said Goku.
"Really? Cool," said Baljeet.
"Yeah, the only problem is whether you can ride it," said Goku, only now realising that might be a problem.
"What do you mean?" asked Buford.
"You can only ride it if you have a pure heart," said Goku feeling embarrassed. "But you seem like good kids, so hopefully that isn't a problem."
"Well, I guess we won't know unless we try," said Phineas.
Phineas was the first to try. He jumped on the cloud and the ever optimistic and cheerful child managed to land on the cloud without falling through.
"Well I guess I have a pure heard," said Phineas humbly.
Seeing Phineas succeed gave Isabella the courage she needed. She jumped on the cloud as well and did not fall through. Ferb was the next to try and he also did not fall through. Baljeet thought it was a bit illogical to ride a cloud, but then he remembered, this was a cross over. Baljeet jumped on the cloud and did not fall through.
"Well, if you nerds can ride this cloud, so can I," said Buford confidently.
Buford jumped on the cloud, but unlike the others, he fell right through.
"What? Ok this cloud is either fake, or its broken," said Buford annoyed.
"Or you don't have a pure heart," said Goku, trying his best not to be rude.
"Don't have a pure heart? What about me isn't pure?" asked Buford angrily.
"Well you are a bully," said Phineas.
"Oh, so that stops me from having a pure heart. That's stupid," said Buford angrily.
"Look it doesn't matter, I can carry you, while your friends ride the Nimbus," said Goku.
"Whatever," said Buford, still angry that he did not get to ride a magic cloud.
"Wait before we go, what's your name?" asked Phineas, realising that no one had been properly introduced.
"Oh right. Call me Goku," said Goku.
"My names Phineas."
"Isabella."
"Baljeet."
"Ferb."
"And I'm Buford," said Buford, still a little angry.
"Great to meet you all. Well let's go," said Goku, letting Buford on his back.
"Wait Mr Goku," said Phineas, suddenly realising something.
"What?" asked Goku.
"How do you fly this thing?" asked Phineas.
Thanks for reading. Please let me know what you think in the reviews, especially if you feel there are certain parts of this story that could be improved. Also I'd like to leave everyone with this question. Do you think I was right with regards to which members of the Summer Vacation Gang, I thought could ride the Nimbus? If you think I was wrong, please let me know and I might do a small rewrite. Thanks again, more is to come.
