Storybrooke
It was just another Monday morning.
Birds were chirping and the small town of storybrooke was waking up to start it's day.
In a small apartment near the town centre and alarm clock was ringing.
From Beneath the green sheets a daninty hand reaches out and hit the alarm clock, after a few hits the irritating sound silences.
A low moan is muffled by the sheets.
Hallie pokes her head out the sheets, rubbing the sleep from her eyes, she surveys the familiar space that is her bedroom.
Hallie groans but disregards her body's desire to simply go back to bed and pushes the warm covers off her body.
Her feet come into contact with the cold wooden floor and proceed to walk into the bathroom.
Hallie begin her morning routine the same one she's done ever morning for as long as she could Remember.
If Hallie Brown were to describe her life, one word that would come to mind was mediocre.
Don't get her wrong she didn't have that bad of a life, it just didn't feel... right.
Though she guessed she shouldn't complain.
There were people in this world who had it harder than she did.
She had a roof over her head and a stable job at the local school as the drama teacher and in she held dance lessons after school on Thursday.
Life could be worse.
Hallie viewed herself in the mirror.
Light blond hair mattered from sleeping, light blue eyes that according to Those around her could lure sailors to their demise.
It was nearing 7 and Hallie didn't have time to dally.
It would Have to be a quick shower today, Hallie quickly undressed and jumped into the shower and quickly washed herself, guess she would have to wash her hair tonight.
Once Hallie was back in her bedroom she opens her closet and searched through her school attire.
Hallie had two different sections in her closet, one side was for all her clothes that she will wear to school so blazers, blouses, pants, skirts, skinny pants and a few dresses the other side was saved for her every day clothing T-shirts, jeans, jackets, cardigans, rompers, shorts, summer dresses, hoodies and other casual items.
She would decide on dark green satin button down with one black skinny pants and paired with beige moccasins.
And of course her lucky bracelet, she never took it off.
She wore it in the shower, When she slept, when she went on a run, when she went out in the evening.
Wherever she went the bracelet went as well.
Hallie had wondered why it meant so much to her age can't ever remember buying it for herself, though whenever she went into take the bracelet off she would stop herself, like something inside her was physically preventing her from take in off.
With time running out Hallie forwent her straighteners just ran a brush though her hair trying to make it presentable and knot free.
Quarter to nine and Hallie looked at herself one last time.
Hair finally untangled flowing down her back, minimal makeup just some mascara and lip balm.
All she could really do.
With a nod, she grabbed her coat and bag
Before locking the door behind her.
Hallie quickly jogged to granny's diner and opens the door.
She was in luck it was relatively empty, ruby smiles At her before walking over.
"Morning Hallie The usual?"
"Yes please, to take away I've only got fifteen minutes until I have to be sat behind a desk taking the morning register."
Ruby begins making the coffee.
Looking down at her phone Hallie gets a text from Mary Margaret.
Are you okay, I didn't seen you this morning in the staff room. M~
Hallie quickly sends a reply.
Sorry I overslept, I'm on my Way I'll be there in a minute. H~
That was a tiny lie but if Hallie pushed it she could definitely make it.
A pumpkin spiced latte In a to go cup and a double chocolate chip cooking in a bag was placed in forks of her.
"That's 5.58 please."
Hallie reached into her purse and handed ruby a tenner.
After getting receiving her change she rushed out of the store and quickly got into her car.
Thank goodness Sheriff Graham was yet out on patrol because Hallie was pretty sure she was breaking the speed limit right now.
Though her fact driving paid of because at eight fifty eight she parked in the teachers car park.
Grabbing her coffee and stuffing her cooking in her bag she ran up the steps of the school, past the receptionist and past a disapproving Mrs Holt and a bemused Jim.
"How she still has a job as a teacher I'll never know." Mrs Holt grumbled.
Jim just shrugged his shoulders and with a grin.
"Well she does keep things interesting."
"I just worry about what example she is setting for the children."
The gym coach and teacher observe the woman almost trip up the stairs in her rush to get to registration.
Nine on the dot Hallie rushes into her class room.
The children all hold in there laughs at the woman, used to their form tutors occasional tardiness.
"Morning class."
Hallie sits at her desk pushing some stray hair out her face she begins the morning register.
Registration goes by quickly and soon she has her first class the day.
Since it was the first class of the day Hallie kept it quite laid back.
Once of the things the children liked about hallie's class was she didn't care much for desks, in fact most of her classes the student pushed the desks to the side and all of them sat in a circle.
Hallie had her kids read out some tongue twisters.
This allowed her time to think about the yearly Christmas play.
Every year the students put on a play and since she was the drama teacher she naturally was the one who had to run it.
She was thinking about Alice in wonderland.
They had done the wizard of Oz last year and parents had liked that.
Also Alice in wonderland had multiple roles .
That would be perfect.
Last year she had wanted to do Snow White however mayor mills threw a fit.
So halfway during auditions Mayor mills had stormed in and demanded Hallie change the play.
First thing she needed to do was hold auditions.
That meant putting sign up sheets around the school and sending letters home to parents informing them.
Then we will move onto rehearsals last year they were held after school on Mondays and Wednesdays she could do the same concept this year, it worked out okay last year.
No doubt Hallie could get Mary Margaret to help.
The children could do the posters.
She could probably get Marco to do the scenery again, he did a great job last year.
Yes she could see it coming together in her head.
"Miss brown"
The Tiny voice alerted her to the fact her students we're staring at her.
Hallie looked over to where the Vioce came from.
It came from Nicholas.
"Yes Nicholas"
"I need to use the loo"
Hallie nodded before grabbing a slip and writing a note.
She handed Nicholas the note.
"Be quick."
Hallie often wondered about Nicholas and his sister Ava, when ever she saw them around storybrooke they always seemed to be alone, in fact Hallie not sure she's ever met their father or their mother.
She voiced her concerns to the principal once and he did tell her he would look into it, but that was the last she heard of it.
She always just assumed everything was okay.
Parents evening was coming up maybe she will finally get the meet their parents.
But then again who knows.
